We reserved 5 of the 7 rooms for our family during graduation weekend and it was PERFECT. The Inn is lovely, Val and Eric are amazing hosts and the breakfasts were so special. We all loved our rooms, and were able to play games together in the common areas and watch the Nicks game. We just had the best time, and if we're ever back in the area we will, for sure, stay there again. Amazing location, right across from the Vanderbilt estate and a beautiful stroll to the river. Truly special.

Had a lovely stay with my husband. The house is tastefully decorated, Val is super attentive and made the most lovely breakfasts and the room was cozy and comfortable. Great location if you’re visiting the FDR Presidential library and home or the Vanderbilt estate. Snowy weekend but the roads and access are so well kept that there was absolute no need to change any plans! Highly recommend.

Lovely B&B in the Hudson Valley. Our hosts were wonderful and provided us with excellent suggestions of sights to see in the area that had not come to our attention. The breakfasts were delicious. Perfectly located for visits to FDR's house and library, Rhinebeck, the Vanderbilt Mansion, the Culinary Institute of America and Staatsburgh State Historical Site. An excellent choice in the area.

We LOVED our stay at the Journey Inn. Valerie and Eric were excellent hosts and we were treated like family! They straightened our room and provided clean towels each day. We had a small fridge to keep things cold which was really nice. Our room was very nice and very comfortable. Valerie was an excellent cook and we loved all her breakfasts! Their location is quite ideal if you are visiting the Hyde Park area of NY.

Our stay could not have improved. Val and Eric were the consummate hosts. It was some of the best examples of Southern Hospitality up North. The accommodations and food were superb. We cannot say enough good things about how we felt at home here. A must stay if you are in the Hudson Valley. Just across the road from the Vanderbilt Mansion.

We spent 4 nights at this comfortable B’nB and felt right at home. Why? The owners Valerie & Eric welcomed us like old friends. In addition, this place feels like home. There’s a living room where you can sit or do work (if you must) in a quiet setting. Or you can sit in the large family room and dining room and chat with other guests. If the weather is good, you can even find a relaxing spot outdoors. Valerie takes great care and expertise in preparing a lovely breakfast to enjoy. Lastly, this B n B is perfectly clean which we appreciated. You’ll be close to FDR home/museum, Eleanor’s Val-Kil, the Vanderbilt mansion and the Culinary Institute of America. Rhinebeck is ten minutes away and has some marvelous restaurants and Valerie & Eric will share their favorites with you. I don’t think you can go wrong.

Eric and Val were wonderful hosts!! Rooms and bathroom were very clean. Hosts were very knowledgeable about the area and made several great recommendations. They had many books and brochures about the surrounding area. We saw a book about Innisfree Garden on the coffee table and decided to visit. How picturesque! Great breakfasts. I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Had a lovely stay at the Journey Inn this weekend while enjoying the crisp fall weather in the Hudson Valley. Valerie and Eric were very friendly and helpful hosts, providing us with a plethora of recommendations for wine tasting, hiking/walking trails, and local restaurants! The space itself was very clean and comfortable - we felt right at home! Breakfast was delicious and coffee was soooooo good too! Truly nothing like a home cooked meal. Their dog, Buddy, made a few appearances as well. :) All in all would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a pleasant and comfortable stay in the area. Thanks Valerie and Eric for a great stay!

Yelp
This Inn is the sweetest, most cozy, deliciously decorated Inn in the Hudson Valley. Valerie and Eric are the Innkeepers and they truly treat this place like a home. Everything is impeccably clean and taken care of. Breakfast every day is prepared by Valerie - I understand why this place is on the recommended list from the Culinary Instutute of America down the street - her food is literally an art. Breakfast every morning makes me want to come back even without being a guest here. Stayed here for 3 nights. 5 stars, completely. Important Note: if you have an allergy, tell Val ahead of time. She's a genius and is well versed in tons of dietary alternatives. As a celiac leaving without the least bit of stomach pain, I have to recommend the dietary safety of this place 100 times over.

Yelp
Great cozy inn with warm staff, close to Rhinebeck which is lovely to visit but without being pretentious. Loved having the delicious breakfast while watching the birds eat from the feeders. I loved the Vanderbilt room.

Yelp
We booked a stay at Journey Inn when our Las Vegas trip was cancelled due to torrential rain and thunderstorms in Newark and one of the runways being flooded. There was only one room left for this past weekend, and my fiancé and I were so happy to grab it. This was our second time staying at the Journey Inn, and we were looking forward to it so much, especially after the disappointment of our cancelled trip. Eric and Valerie are the most gracious hosts you will find. They will give you a detailed tour of the place and make you feel right at home. I love how they take an interest in their guests and give fabulous dining suggestions as well. We stayed in the English Country Suite this past time, and I literally felt like a Queen. My favorite part of this room was the adorable reading nook. My fiancé and I took turns reading our books in there. Breakfast in the morning was delicious as we had remembered: caprese quiche, homemade muffin and baked plums with ricotta cheese. Just the right amount of food and so fresh and delicious. We already have our fall getaway booked to Journey Inn and we're counting down the days!!

Yelp
Valerie and Eric were exceptional hosts at their quaint and beautiful inn. Breakfast was incredibly delicious and kept us well fed throughout our daily activities. Their recommendations for places to go and eat made for a memorable weekend getaway. Highly recommend visiting for those looking to relax and unplug. Say hi to Buddy (adorable pup) for us!

Yelp
It's a lovely place. The Journey Inn has a great location close to the Vanderbilt mansion, the Roosevelt house, and library. The rooms have a nice colonial touch with a private bathroom. It's a nice balcony along the house. The breakfast is prepared from the best fresh ingredients and very tasteful. The hosts are very knowledgeable regarding the local attractions and give you an excellent input how you can spend your valuable time at Hyde Park and close area. One of the best Bread and Breakfast Inn I have ever visited.

Yelp
We enjoyed a lovely overnight stay with Eric and Valerie. They were very accommodating with our late arrival. Breakfast, with homemade scones, was generous and delicious. Still thinking about the great ginger scones! Highly recommend this as a comforting and welcoming B&B!

Yelp
This was a great spot for a little weekend getaway with my new fiancé. We had a great time and really enjoyed the breakfast. Our room came with our own private bathroom and we enjoyed the time spent. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Valerie was kind enough to allow us 1 night for our 21st anniversary and we're glad she did. Valerie will greet you and show you around... bring you up to your room and make you feel right at home. We stayed in the Kyoto room which was a bit small and had the private bathroom across the hall. Asian influence and very neat and clean. If you're looking for a larger room... The English Country Suite may be what you want. (We looked in while the room was being made up.) Breakfast was amazing with tartan french toast/ sautéd apples and Taylor ham! No syrup needed! SO very good. Journey's Inn is right across the street from the Vanderbuilt mansion... which we also visited. Pretty interesting too. We look forward to coming back soon.

Yelp
When we first came to the Journey Inn it struck us how the interior, atmosphere, decor were just magical and the owners were so warm and welcoming. It felt cozy all the time. The breakfasts were just incredible and very delicious. The owners treated us as family and even provided us with directions on where to sightsee and explore. We would love to come again to Jorney Inn!

Yelp
So glad we decided to reserve a room here. We stayed only one night, but really enjoyed our stay. Valerie and Eric are excellent hosts, and we enjoyed chatting with them. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was great-- I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Yelp
Cannot WAIT to go back to Journey Inn! Diane and Michelle are just a delight. They greet everyone as if you are an old returning friend of the family. The common areas are warm and inviting, loaded with books and magazine. Home made cookies and soft drinks are there in the afternoon to tide you over before dinner. And the ladies have every menu and personal suggestions/critiques of every restaurant in town. The rooms are comfortably charming. Wine glasses and a bottle opener in the hallway are for the taking in the event you want to bring a bottle of wine up to your room. You'll also find booklets and coupons for nearby attractions. Now, the breakfasts are amazing. The dining room is bright and festively set. The food is layered with originality and flavor. Hearing the descriptions daily of what's about to be served was almost as good as the food itself. The hosts were most accommodating with any food allergies or concerns. I feel like I have 2 new friends in Diane and Michelle. If you are in Hyde Park THIS is the place to stay!

Yelp
Such an excellent stay! My husband and I always stay at a B&B when we can, but our visits have been hit or miss. Rooms can be neat but musty smelling, or just awkwardly laid out. Not so here! The room we stayed in was extremely comfortable and spacious and so, so clean. WiFi is important to us because we are one of those crazy people who are always checking our email and otherwise using the internet, so the strength and speed of the WiFi was great. Valerie and Eric are extremely warm and gracious hosts. They made us feel right at home and accommodated every request, and made sure we knew what was available in the area to visit and where to eat. Most importantly, of course, the breakfast was hearty and delicious. I believe we had a honey-grilled grapefruit and artichoke frittata with a side of cornbread when we stayed, and it was such a perfect combination for a winter morning! We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Loved our stay! This place was my best experience to date with a B&B. Gorgeous location across from the Vanderbilt mansion in the Hudson valley. Lovely room. Hospitality was incomparable. Val and Eric are amazing hosts and even better cooks. Will stay here again!

Yelp
We are no strangers to B&B's and were delighted to find the Journey Inn! The Hudson Valley has a true gem in this establishment. The Innkeepers, Valerie, Eric (and Dad) are delightful and we truly enjoyed our weekend visit. The Inn is immaculately clean and delightfully decorated. The rooms are cozy, inviting and makes you wish your home was like theirs! haha. Our room, The English Country Suite was large, spacious and comfortable. We peeked in the other rooms and each had its own character and charm. Ours had a King sized bed and great seating area with a couch and wing chairs. And with a full bath, two sinks and a separate makeup vanity, getting ready was a breeze. The public areas of the lodge were very nice. We enjoyed coffee in the parlor before breakfast and the library - adjacent to the dining room made for great reading and relaxing. 24 hour coffee and tea service along with refrigerated beverages, cookies and truffles were always made available...such nice and thoughtful touches. Breakfast is served at one seating and everyone dines together at a long table in the bright dining room. The meals were tasty and gourmet. The first morning we enjoyed a first course of warm poaches pears with spiced syrup and greek yogurt. This was followed by a light baked egg souffle and a buttery, delicious biscuit. Heaven. The next morning our first course at breakfast was a bowl of lightly minted fruit (honeydew and cantaloupe) and warm pecan banana muffins. Both were delicious. Our main course was baked oatmeal served with greek yogurt and honey alongside pork and turkey sausage links. The oatmeal was hearty and also had apples, strawberries, blackberries and raspberries. It was good, but not my favorite as I prefer a more savory breakfast. But that is just my taste. haha. The entire table enjoyed Valerie's outstanding cooking and service. The Innkeepers were always available and most gracious. They were never "in the way" and allowed guests their privacy and quiet time. The Inn is located just a few miles from the CIA and close to other delicious area restaurants. While located just off a main road, it was never nosy and easily accessible. Overall this was an absolutely wonderful stay and we can't wait to go back. Thank you for providing us with a great experience. We have already recommended you to our family and hope they will enjoy their stay as much as we did!

Yelp
What a B&B ought to be. Michelle and Dianne run this place with so many personal touches. The rooms names and decor represent places the sisters have traveled. The living room is warm, inviting, and filled with great things to read. And the breakfasts..... Wow. So much care and though went into the creative, tasty dishes. Location is pretty great too, walk across the street to the Vanderbilt Mansion.

Yelp
Valerie and Eric run a great place. We stayed in the Metro room, which was very comfortable and well appointed. There is also a wrap around porch off the bedrooms for some fresh air if you like. The home has large common areas, plenty of room to hang out with soft drinks, snacks and chocolate to keep you going. The location is excellent, right across from the Vanderbilt Mansion. Breakfast was delicious, with great coffee and juice that goes along. We will be back next time we are in the area. Keep up the good work guys, and thanks. Russ and Susie

Yelp
We love Valerie and Eric. We loved the cute rooms. We loved all the great doo-dads and decorations they have all over the place. When you are there, it's like having your own personal tourist bureau. They know all about the entire area. We highly recommend staying there. -- Ron & Joyce, Wantagh, NY

Yelp
This place was a great place to stay. The area was quiet, it was right across from the Vanderbilt mansion, close to other attractions, meticulously clean, and the sisters were fantastic and helpful. My only downside was that it (like all B&Bs) have thin walls....if you know what I mean. Our neighbors got engaged the night before and were very happy. The breakfast was served family style and was delicious. If you like B&Bs, I would highly recommend.

Yelp
We stayed here for my fiancé birthday in November. The room was comfortable, the food was delicious, and it was super close to everything! I would definitely recommend!

Yelp
I stayed here on Valentine's Day with my fiance. We both loved the ambiance and decor of this B&B. It was our first time staying at a B&B and we were both hesitant, but Valerie made us feel at home. We have already recommended this place to our family members and can't wait to go back! Breakfast was absolutely delicious...can't wait to go back again during the warm weather!

Yelp
Great vibes. Very clean, run by 2 very hospitable sisters, excellent location, family style breakfast so you can meet the other guests.

Yelp
We loved this place. Valerie and Eric are very kind and helpful, and Valerie is a great cook. We stayed four nights and were disappointed that we weren't staying a few more. They are close to the Vanderbilt (right across the street) but also close to lots of other things : Vassar, CIA, Roosevelt house, etc. Less than an hour to a million other places, like Storm King or the OMI Arts Center. The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated (no tv). The coffee is superb. Breakfast is served at 8:30. If I had to nitpick, I'd mention that the walls are a bit thin so we could hear our neighbors talking, but that really wasn't an issue. We are thinking about all the friends whom we can send to stay there and when we'll be back.

Joel A.

Yelp
We booked the suite and we were very happy with the two spacious rooms,tv,separate sinks and incorporated bathroom. Well worth the cost to us in total roomy comfort. Decor was exceptional, but more, the Inn is directly across the street from the Vanderbilt mansion and provides a nice walk from inn to mansion. Additionally and without any extra cost, you get Valerie, the new owner, and she will act as your personal concierge steering you to the best restaurants in and around the area. She is a real Foody, and all her recommendations were superb. Valerie is a wonderful human being, and she is equal to the excellence of her Inn. This is a perfect place to stay and we highly recommend it from our own three day experience.

Lisa C.

Yelp
Very comfortable & great location. Thanks Valerie for being so welcoming. The breakfasts are amazing and get you through the day of shopping & wine tasting & shopping and hiking and shopping!
