Google
Absolute gem, so happy we found it! Excellent food with really good prices. Flavorful, tangy, bright, and spiced without being overwhelming. Shared a few happy hour munchies as well as a large cucumber orange salad and complimentary chips. Atmosphere is trendy, casual, and unique. The outdoor patio was perfect! Great music, lovely staff, will definitely make a point of coming back when I’m in Gilbert next.

Google
Great tacos in a great location. When I came here for a early dinner, they were not busy at all and I was seated right away. They have a good menu with lots of choices. I ended up getting tacos of the day and it was good. It was a cauliflower Taco which was a bit interesting but surprisingly really good. The house Margarita was also a great deal during happy hour. Overall the food and drinks are great.

My husband and I wanted to enjoy a day eating outside and chose Joyride in Gilbert. We were seated pretty quickly considering it was busy. The only bad thing is the gal who serves the chips & salsa. She came and just dropped the chips and left. There were no hello, here are chips, nothing. I almost took it personal until I observed her doing it to the all tables. Not cool. Our server made up for it. She was pleasant and checked on us frequently. We had the ceviche and tacos. It was really good and the margarita was made perfectly. Despite the chip girl, it was a nice experience. I would go back.

Google
Had a great time at this establishment. The food was delicious and the “Joyride” margaritas were a hit ! The price of the food is reasonable for downtown Gilbert. I had the chipotle shrimp tacos and carne asada tacos with a side of Mexican street corn. My sister had cactus/crinkle Frys with a bowl of carne asada. Don’t forget dessert, the churro with a side of sauce is DELICIOUS!!!! We definitely will be back for Happy Hour. The staff is amazing. -Ashley from Gilbert,AZ

Google
Best Happy Hour in Gilbert! Servers are super knowledgeable and friendly... You have to get the Crispy Fish taco, if you dont it is your own fault. Thank you Joy Ride for your amazing food and deals. Cheers!

Google
Every Joyride is a joy to visit! Never a bad experience. I get The Standard taco with no chicken and it's an excellent vegetarian off-menu option. The avocado slice with tasty toppings is a perfect snack. Order 2 with some sides for a nice veg meal. Margaritas or Ranch Water with LALO tequila ... yum!

Google
So glad I found this hidden gem!! I was also super excited to learn the outdoor patio space is dog friendly! So I will definitely be coming back with my pups. The prickly pear margarita was one of the best I have had. I also thought both the shrimp and the fish tacos were amazing! I also tried the salsitas and chips which were also delicious! The staff was also friendly and the service was incredibly fast.

Google
I had a blood orange margarita, the shrimp ceviche, a fish taco and a chipotle shrimp taco, along with a side of pinto beans and Mexican slaw. All were excellent. Very fresh. The shrimp were sweet and tasty, the margarita(s) were a real treat. We will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Food was phenomenal, first times here! Shaynne C, was great and very attentive especially when it was a pretty busy day. Will definitely come back again! Also, chairs are comfortable and cute outdoor area with fire pit. Thank you

Yelp
Chase was AWESOME!! He checked on us often and made sure we had everything we needed. I hope he'll be here next time we come!!

Yelp
We've been coming to Joyride for years (shoutout chef Luis) and I'll admit the service has been slowly declining over the past few times we've came in. Luckily today we had our rockstar server Izza to save the day! My husband is a psycho and wants to work 60+ hours a week borderline electrocuting himself and I wanted a chill night out to make up for his hard work. I'm pregnant and had a hankering for enchiladas and after scouring over multiple restaurants on Yelp I landed upon Joyride. The last time we were here for my mom's bday I wanted to slap our snail speed server upside the head, so my expectations were low coming in. To my surprise, our server Izza was attentive and answered my husband's million tequila related questions because his alcohol levels were dangerously low. He got a shot of tequila and the happy hour ceviche and I got some of their tangy Tomatillo salsa to go with our chips. I was freezing my t*ts off and luckily my hot and delicious Chicken Enchiladas saved the day! My gremlin child forgot how to eat like a human so the rice and beans combo we got was delicious but also ended up halfway on the floor (sorry joyride) From going from "this will probably be the last time we come here" to "we are going to make sure Izza is working when we come in next time" was certainly unexpected, but I'm glad we could have a relaxing Saturday night family date night :)

Yelp
First time at Joyride Taco House in Downtown Gilbert. Weekday early dinner and place is packed. Upscale, vibrant, open space indoor or on the patio. Service was excellent. I had two street tacos, one was grilled shrimp and other was carne adovada pork. The sauce was very spicy, kind of a surprise, but good. I can't really judge this place based upon two street tacos. Would definitely return for another meal. Based upon the excellent service, an easy 4 stars. All good here.

Yelp
Pretty cute taco place in downtown Gilbert! If you are looking for more authentic taco, this is not the place, but it's good for chill girl's day/night with chips and margs and food! Service is good, some are so friendly and some are not. Got chips and guac, and birria breakfast burrito, they both were good! So many potatoes in burrito, which I like, though it was a bit cold!

Yelp
I love going here for early happy hour (before 5pm.) Joyride has the best select Mexican and best craft beer pitcher happy hour price I have found in all of the Valley at $6. That equates to about 2 pints of beer. The happy hour prices for food goes until 6pm. The service is always friendly and attentive. It has both a front and back patio seating areas. I enjoy the back patio, except when the tree is shedding its little yellow flowers. The front patio it's fun to watch people strolling Gilbert main Street. The interior has a great retro, history vibe.

Yelp
Oh, my goodness, I simply cannot get enough of the Chipotle Tacos. We have been here now three times, one of the times being takeout. Each time we chose to eat outside and were sat right away. The chairs outside are comfortable and the first time we went they had misters going. The second time the weather was cool enough that misters were not needed. Our server last time was Chase, and the second time was Ren. Both are top-notch servers who were attentive and helpful in telling us about the different specials and giving us suggestions. Keep in mind if you are going on Taco Tuesday expect it to be busy as they offer $1.50 off tacos from 2-6 pm. Will we be back.........ABSOLUTELY!!!
google avatar

Jon H.

Yelp
I've been seeing Joyride Tacos pop up on my feed for some time now. I usually celebrate Taco Tuesday by getting a burrito....its kinda my jam. I scoped out the menu earlier today and decided I needed to taste that green chili chicken burrito before the day was over or I'd toss and turn all night wondering what I was missing :) This is a walk in and sit down place. Good vibe inside with music flowin' and good atmosphere. Our waiter, Chase, did a phenomenal job as well. All good things! We ordered the Hatch Green Chili Queso to start which was killer! As mentioned, I was there for one thing and one thing only: the Green Chili Chicken Burrito. It was great! The chorizo and pinto beans took it to another level, especially with the flat grilled tortilla....chefs kiss all the way! On a scale of 1 - 10, there will be future visits for sure! I need to taste one of their tacos...I think that's only fair ;)

Yelp
FUN FUN FUn! Sit on their patio by the big fireplace! It is so wonderful. Allie G was an impressive waitress, knows her stuff and is as smart as her dragon tattoo. She was patient with our "first timers" syndrome. So we got the ceviche which was good. We got the guacamole which we liked. The shrimp quesadilla was like the best grilled cheese ever! Wonderful blend of cheeses and the sour cream dipping option was delicious. The carnitas taco is a thumbs up! The carne asada taco was good. They weee a true street taco so simple but flavorful. The drinks are a YES YES! The prickly pear margarita is my favorite hands down!! David came to check on us so we could close out our tab. It's a win win here!!

Yelp
I love this little neighborhood gem. The atmosphere is so cute and kind of hippie. I tried the taco special of the day and it was ok. I normally stick to the shrimp taco and cucumber salads and they are honestly my favorite. Service was ok; I went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't busy but for some reason it still felt a little slow, I had a great service experience at another location so I was very surprised.
google avatar

Allison Q.

Yelp
Amazing food, great happy hour and Isa was the best server! We will be back!!! Would highly recommend the crispy fish taco and the cucumber salad. The chips are salsa are perfection.

Yelp
I was invited here & carpooled with my Yelp Bestie Marlene, & we met up with our other Yelp Bestie Ashley - they had a yelp event so I decided to join for my first meal of the day! I came with an appetite for sure. As we walked up i noticed they offered 2 patios with misters & Inside seating. The decor really captured my attention I loved the color scheme and furniture, super trendy. We were seated pretty quickly & shortly after a rush came in and they had to wait a while to be seated so we came just in time! Our server brought us chips & salsa she was highly attentive and other co workers checked in on us a lot which was a great thing. For starters I ordered the street corn (cotija, habanero aioli, cilantro, smoked paprika) I loved that it had a spicy kick to it, it's probably enough for 2 people to share at most so if you have a bigger party I would def order more. Marlene ordered the guacamole & the small size was smaller than we expected so we will def be ordering the large next time but it was so tasty. I wanted to try the ceviche (gulf shrimp, spicy pico gringo, lime, cucumber, cilantro, avocado, jicama, red onion) but I came in thinking the tacos were going to be huge from their photos on their website so I opted out. I will def be trying the ceviche next time though as it sounds so refreshing. For drinks I ordered a water & 2 margaritas. The first marg I tried was the Cucumber Serrano, as I love Spice and sounded refreshing which it was! The second marg I ordered was the Blood Orange & let me tell you right off the bat they both looked so juicy they were def not too sweet and some of the best margs I've had in quite a while. For my taco choices I picked the Carne Asada, Crispy Sprout & the rave taco which is the Chipotle Shrimp. All three were packed with flavor & very appealing but the serving size didn't match their IG or Website photos so I could have def ordered 3 more tacos at least to be full. I can't wait to come back though & try other menu items I had a great experience overall. I was going to order their fruity pebble churros but I noticed there were a few ice-cream/dessert spots around the area so I opted out, there's always next time!

Yelp
We came in for the Yelp event as my girl, Latoya B, is an elite member. We decided to sit at the bar since it was easy and available. Allan was our bar tender and server and dude was spot on. Very friendly and up-beat but not over the top. Since we planned on ordering more than the event offering, Allan made a few suggestions and that was cool because we struggled to decide. I got the fish tacos and a carnitas quesadilla while my girl got a carne asada taco and a fish taco (included with the offering) and she also got the shrooms. She got a Cucumber Serrano margarita (the virgin version) and Allen made me a strawberry lemonade. The lemonade was a little warm at first but delicious either way and once I stirred it good the ice started doing its job. Her margarita was kinda the same but I actually appreciated the little more beverage and little less ice. She wasn't totally sold on the taste of her drink but she still finished it. The fish tacos are very good and we got the crispy version. The asada taco was just as good. The roasted shrooms were very good and hey, how can you mess up a quesadilla? YOU CAN'T, but you can sure make it better with some carnitas mixed into the cheese! BTW, the chips and salsa were also good and I almost got full just on those. If you haven't done so and have a chance to check this place out, I highly recommend it and if possible, belly up to the bar and say hi to Allan and all the folks working the bar, they are all very nice.

Yelp
Went to the east side with the family and needed a dog friendly place and I love joyride downtown so went in hopes of some good happy hour bites. Was seated promptly and asked for water with lemon for the table to be told that we used all the lemon in the place cus they don't use it often, okay my bad. They were way over the top and sweet to our pup which is nice and we were thankful for that however when it came to service that was a bit lacking. They even at the end explained they had shift changes and that's why there were issues I guess if that happens everyday rather than making excuses everyday management should attempt to mitigate so customers are seen. We all destroyed the chips and salsa but the enchiladas came out incorrectly on one and both were just so salty it was hard to taste much else. Ceviche was good but very small as well as the tostada. Odd that what we ordered off the HH menu was great and the full price menu was lacking. Simply put I still enjoy coming for HH getting a pitcher of beer for $6 is hard to beat and will continue but not for much else.

Yelp
The service was friendly and very helpful. The food menu had many options. The drinks were fresh and the table side guacamole was delicious.

Yelp
Really cool place in downtown Gilbert. Very trendy fun environment. Our server was super friendly and attentive. The decor was really nice and all the staff seemed fun and upbeat. The food was pretty good. Maybe a little more visually appealing than it tasted, however. But definitely not bad. My wife had a few of their tacos - the pork adobada, the standard, and the crispy fish. The positive was they were generous with the meat, but it was a bit salty. I had the green chili chicken burrito. It was pretty good. But also thought it was a bit salty, and couldn't taste the chorizo in it. We also the flinstone churro. That we were not a fan of. It was really dry and hard. Overall, pretty cool spot. Would definitely go back.

Yelp
Good food, nice ambiance (super comfy chairs) and fast service. I really liked the chips. They tasted a little different from the ones you normally get at a Mexican restaurant, in a good way. The salsa and burrito were a little spicy for me but I'm pretty big baby with spicy stuff. Not the best Mexican food I've ever had but I liked it and it was reasonably priced. Even at 5 on Wednesday it was pretty busy! If they take reservations, I'd recommend making them if you're going on a weekend night.

Yelp
Joyride Taco House... standup! Man what a great spot for food and drinks in DT Gilbert. We were running some errands that day and decided to stop in. It was Saturday around 1-2PM and we were able to get some draft beers for $6 in a pitcher and then started with the food. We got the queso dip with protein and chips... wow... this may have been my favorite item the entire lunch. We both ordered tacos (chicken, fish, carne) and everything was so fresh and portions were solid! We enjoyed the layout of the restaurant and the service was good during our time. Great spot to come by and checkout!
google avatar

Autumn C.

Yelp
Joyride has changed a bit. They no longer have the amazing happy hour they used to offer as well as the staff seems unhappy. The food is predictable but, I did see some new things added to switch it up again. We tried the fries & cactus fries, we were not impressed with the dipping sauces or flavors. I am not sure if they have new management, but it for sure is not on my rotation of restaurant Choices these days.
google avatar

Yelp
Food: It is Americanized Mexican food. The flavors are there, but it isn't authentic Mexican food. I have to admit the fried fish tacos are pretty bomb. The Chilaquiles had the flavor, but it was not drenched in sauce. Service: Our waiter was very helpful and even brought out surprise drinks for the birthday girl. We came in during happy hour from 4-6pm. Each taco was 2.50 and the fish taco was 3.5. And $6 margaritas during this happy hour. Ambiance: We waited about 20 minutes for a table. And we sat outside. The scenery is really pretty outside. Parking is hard to find since it's downtown.
google avatar

Derek O.

Yelp
Shaynne took great care of us during our visit, the tacos were great and all her recommendations were exquisite
google avatar

Nimer M.

Yelp
The best word I can describe this place is basic. If you like a non authentic Americanized Mexican restaurant, this restaurant is perfect for you. I had the green chili burrito and it was about 70% rice and tortilla. They also charge $2 for a side of salsa. I do have to say the tortillas weren't bad and the chips were good. The ambiance was okay. They play all kinds of music which was pretty loud for my taste. The servers were really nice. The manager would walk around and make sure everything was good. Honestly the service is the main reason I didn't give a 1 star review.
google avatar

Jordan J.

Yelp
We came in, got sat after about 10 to 15 seconds of waiting. We requested to sit outside because the weather is very nice in Arizona around 9 PM. A server came over to greet us, she asked us if we had any questions on the menu. We asked for two minutes for her to come back and take our order. I ordered the blood orange margarita, but I asked for the upgrade... So it came with Don Julio and grand marnier. It was delicious. I am a margarita enthusiast, and I would definitely put it in the top 20 of Best margaritas I have had in the total 10 years since that I've been drinking (removing the old tex mex restaurant "Pappasitos" that I use to work at in Houston, TX from the top 20 LOL). She said the taco of the day was the chicken taco. I got the Carne Asada and the shrimp taco, my boyfriend got the Carne Asada and the chicken taco. All three tacos were delicious, my favorite was the shrimp, then the chicken, then the Carne Asada. Thank you, Cambria for recommendations, thank you for a great experience! Also, manager Vincent was pretty cool too. Thanks for stopping by the table!

Dave S.

Yelp
The people that work here truly love what they do and appreciate each customer. Engaging and fun. The food and drinks were great. Fish tacos and brussels sprout tacos were delicious. Super great happy hour prices, selection and flavors. Check it out. Really a good spot to stop in Gilbert.

Yelp
Really cute atmosphere....sat outside as the weather was great!! The birds were singing and the patio area was nice just wish the falling leaves weren't landing in my food but that's not their fault. Ordered the queso for the appetizer. The toppings are a need to make the queso have a wow factor. I would definitely order again and maybe add the chorizo. Ansariah was our waitress and she did a fantastic job!! Great spot for lunch today with a friend.
google avatar

Rachel E.

Yelp
This place is great. The food was delicious and the ambiance is a bit loud but that was to be expected since it's a fun establishment. Our service was great and my friends and I enjoyed our food. The only thing that ruined the experience for us was the outside seating. They don't have as many umbrellas as they should with all the birds and droppings. Within 10 minutes, both me and another friend got bird dropping in our hair, our clothing and our bags. The staff was kind and helped us wipe things down and moved us to a newly vacant spot and covered us with more umbrellas. But with this being a common occurrence, you would hope they had more umbrellas available.
google avatar

Scott E.

Yelp
Great food and service. Chips and salsa are fantastic and their draft beer is ice cold! Chipotle tacos are the best. Love this place!!

Stephanie B.

Yelp
Went here for a quick lunch today and it was great!! Our server Shaynne was amazinggg and made great recommendations for food, she was efficient and was very welcoming. The food and drinks were very yummy. The vibe was great, and we'll be back for the great service!
google avatar

Meghan Z.

Yelp
Vibrant and trendy restaurant downtown Gilbert. Stopped in for a quick lunch and the waiter was great about getting us in and out. They offered homemade complementary chips and salsa. As for the California burrito, it was delicious and a lot of food for the price!

Judy L.

Yelp
Amazing food and service always!!! Chase was an amazing server!!! Never had a bad meal here. I always recommend Joyride Tacos

Ashley P.

Yelp
Chase was the most amazing server I have EVER had at Joyride!!! I used to not prefer coming here but because of him I WILL be back! If I could give him 10 stars I would! Absolutely phenomenal service!

Mary B.

Yelp
It's been awhile since we went here, but we LOVED this place. And I'm not a big fan of tacos. We got different street tacos and shared them and they were all delicious. So much bettter than crunchy American style with ground beef. Ugh. Fell in love with their salsa with its weirdly wonderful flavor-hot, smoky, and I don't know what else- but we loved it so much we bought a quart to go. We sat out on the dog patio which was absolute heaven, between the weather and all the lovely pups. Finally, the service was excellent too! The staff was friendly and helpful too. They made sure we had a pleasant dining experience. Thanks Joyride! We'll be back.

Cindy H.

Yelp
Chase was amazing and so was the food! We love Joyride and come here often. If you are in the area you definitely need to check it out!

Amy N.

Yelp
Went there for Happy Hour! Excellent food, drinks, and service. Chase is a rock star...attentive without being annoying. Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Jessa K.

Yelp
Came in on a Saturday afternoon and got seated immediately! First time trying and will be back. Food was flavorful and impressed me. Loved the open-floor concept of the restaurant, feels welcoming! The carne asada taco was awesome and the chicken nachos were LOADED! Meal was delicious and they also offer happy hour. Want to come back to try drinks and explore other items on their menu.
google avatar

Lillie H.

Yelp
I have to admit, things have changed, my opinions more over. I love the food and variety of cocktails. Ambiance is chill and hyped. From my first review we have had nothing but amazing experiences.. I wish for the life of me I could remember my servers names, regardless we sat at the bar, was served quickly, correctly and friendly. I especially partial to the manager Steve, he made sure our experience was enjoyable and that our meal was pleasant. We'll be back, mostly for Steve, second for the bartenders and then the food, but also all of them.
google avatar

Jonathan W.

Yelp
Joyride is one of our favorite places for tacos and margaritas in the valley! They have THE BEST guacamole and their queso is . Best margarita is the cucumber serano if you like a little kick in your drink! Great service and atmosphere. We love sitting on the patio after dark.
google avatar

Maria M.

Yelp
Came here for lunch, great quick service. Sat outside in the patio and the weather happened to be super nice for December. I got the green chicken burrito which was huge and tasty!
google avatar

April B.

Yelp
Excellent tacos, corn, salsa, bean dip and cheese dips. Excellent customer service from Allie and all staff while there.
google avatar

Suzy D.

Yelp
Tacos and margaritas are already spot on! The salsa is okay, chips are average. But the variety of tacos keep me coming back! Service is always great!
google avatar

Ally G.

Yelp
3 stars because I love this place however the last few times I've came the tacos ( carne asada ) is cold . Tortillas are cold too! Service is very good. I love the bartenders and the atmosphere is nice!! Also I told them it was cold , sent it back ( I hate this) And it came back cold lol!! The meat is cold ... it's a taco I expect it to be hot, not cold. It's a taco

Yelp
I enjoy stopping at this Joyride Taco House in downtown Gilbert from time to time. Who doesn't love tacos? Joyride is part of the Upward Projects group (Postino, Windsor, Churn, etc) and opened this location close to ten years ago. I have had some fun evenings over the years at this Joyride Taco House with a number of friends. The best time to come here is during happy hour or on Taco Tuesdays when they have discounted drinks and tacos. My favorite tacos are the standard, pork adobada, carne asada and chipotle shrimp. Tacos can be a little pricey here, so definitely come during HH when a select number of tacos are $2.50. They have a variety of margaritas on the menu that includes my favorites prickly pear and cucumber serrano. The menu also has sharable items and of course churros! This location in Gilbert is always a good time. Joyride has a location in Phoenix too.
google avatar

Bryan F. F.

Yelp
Great tacos! We stopped to have some tacos and ordered the Carna Asada and Crispy Fish which taste really good. Well-prepared tacos with great variety of food. The quality was beyond fantastic. The drinks were absolutely right and so refreshing. Great cocktail drinks. The Baja Fish was so good and very delicious. Other food was so great and absolutely nice. The restaurant was so cool and pleasant setting. The ambiance was so good. Nice service.
google avatar

Erin M.

Yelp
Once my favorite place for happy hour and delicious tacos, this place has gotten greedy and gone downhill. They were loved for their happy hour specials. They now have eliminated all happy hour margaritas except a super crappy house margarita. In addition, they have changed the menu, made their $10 guacamole as tiny scoop which is just crazy for the price, and across the board are giving patrons less for more. I'm so saddened to see this happen to a place I used to frequent regularly.

Yelp
We had a casual date night on a Thursday evening . Right on the heart of downtown Gilbert, you will find this beautiful gem. It was a really enjoyable vibe, family, dates, friends, and the food was appealing and tasteful. Let me start with the salsa and chips, it offers a great flavor and it's a bit spicy just how I like it. We had a couple of burritos, they were a good size. We also had cucumber jalapeño margaritas but they only had clase azul reposado for one drink and that is the tequila we like. Please make sure you have an extra bottle next time . Other than that, Service was good, all the servers were attentive and worked together to ensure a good experience.

Jennifer W.

Yelp
Gilbert, AZ. We've lived here since before Joyeide was in town, and been here bunches of times. Always packed. Came today and had just the best meal ever. Not sure if they've chanted their chips, but they were more amazing than usual. Fresh and hot. Had the taco of the day- pork Al pastor- wish they'd add to the menu. Also had the usual Baja fish taco and the brussel sprout taco for the first time. One of the best meals in a long time! Can't wait to come back. Solid bar service from Jordyn S.
google avatar

Andrea V.

Yelp
We LOVE Alissa the bartender. You need to know that service and ability to have conversations with guests is so important. I haven't had such great service is a long time. Food was great but the atmosphere was exactly what I needed! First time here and we will definitely be back!

Kasandra M.

Yelp
Meat was so dry, just kept chewing. Salsa tasted like the cheap jarred kind for the store. Best part of the meal was the black beans and street corn. Drinks were good. Staff is slow to come to tables and give final check. Sorry to say, won't be back.
google avatar

Whitney R.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I love Joyride! The chips and queso are so good and we always get the blood orange margs. Andrew was great! Super attentive and friendly, we had a fabulous time tonight!
