This was my second time staying at this hotel, and it exceeded my expectations—though it was more expensive than before. The free shuttle pick-up from Sapporo was very convenient.||I loved the open-air public bath and the delicious meals. For guests without meal plans, small plates were available between 6–9pm, and breakfast food was also provided. Snacks and drinks at check-in were a nice touch.||The newly opened building next door is beautifully designed, with a spacious lounge, public bath, and snack/drink options (some paid). A great place to unwind.||The staff were friendly and very helpful throughout. If I return to Sapporo, I’ll definitely stay here again.||Bonus: The Jozankei Nature Luminarie’s Kappa Festival, held in summer, is well worth seeing.||Only suggestion: it would be helpful if the hotel’s website included a map of the shuttle pick-up spot.

First time visiting this hotel with family, main purpose was for onsen bathing so we booked rooms with in room onsen facility. Room was very spacious, decorated in an old Japanese Ryokan style. ||Meals are compulsory for both breakfast and set dinner, prices included at time of booking. Breakfast only provided in Japanese style, no Western foods and also no coffee provided during breakfast, only Japanese tea, juice and milk.||Coffee is available at Ichi Lounge on 2nd flloor, starting 8.30 am. onwards with some croissant. Lounge is open all day long with free flow alcohol beverages in the evening.

Very professional and kind service. Room was very clean and comfortable. Dinner was amazing, very fresh. Shuttle bus from Sapporo is super convenient. It was very nice that they called a day before to confirm the shuttle location.

My wife and I spend a wonderful day at Jozankeionsenhigashi onsen. We booked a room with a private onsen and it was heaven. The ability to use our onsen anytime was fabulous. The spring water’s mineral content was not as nice as the ones in Giro but it was good. The hotel is also beautifully decorated with tons of beautiful artwork and ceramics. It is big, airy and very tranquil. Lots of after meal food, drinks (many bottles of sake, plum wine, Sapporo bears) kept us entertained. It was also a very relaxing and tranquil space. And the dinner-simply the best Kauai meal I’ve ever had. 9 courses of pure heaven. The Chief really outdid himself with the freshness of every item served. I highly highly recommend this place. Will definitely come back again. The only slight drawback was the shuttle service. We had to wait two hours to get in ours after check in, but the hotel welcomed us to stay in the facility.

A very nice hotel. Very well kept, modern, the room a big old bit had charm. Very comfy futon. Private onsen was great. Food for dinner was delicious, for breakfast it was ok. We really loved the lounge area and small library.”

4.8 - This hotel is seriously underrated for the price they charge. I stayed for one night with a half-board package, and from the room to the food and services, it's hands down the best ryokan I’ve experienced within my limited budget. Let’s talk about the room—it was incredibly spacious, modern, and came with its own onsen tub, offering complete privacy. If you're looking for seclusion, this place is perfect. That said, I’d still recommend checking out their main onsen bath—it’s definitely worth it and will likely surprise you. As for the food (dinner and breakfast), it was absolutely delicious, far exceeding expectations. If you’re feeling bored or hungry, their library is a nice touch with a variety of books, and there’s an open resting area with snacks and drinks, including sake, beer, cakes, nuts, and canapés. If I return to Jozankei, this will definitely be my top choice for accommodation. There’s so much more to this hotel, but I’ll leave the rest for you to discover. You won’t be disappointed!

Nice Onsen resort and we like the private Onsen inside the room. The room is huge but it will be great if it has international channels or even Netflix or YouTube. It provides transport to Sapporo so that is great. Nice free drinks and snacks at night.

The room is spacious and the location is super convenient as the bus stop just in front of the hotel, but the meal is just so so but not impressed. However the lounge is impressive with free drinks and dessert which also with massage chair, that is really the best part of the hotel.
