The hotel provides a shuttle bus pick-up from Sapporo Station (Bus Terminal), but reservations can only be made by phone call. Email requests are not accepted. We arrived on a Sunday, and the bus was already fully packed when leaving Sapporo Station, so it is best to book early. The hotel itself is a little old, though the public area toilets appear to have been recently renovated. The public onsen pools are large and relaxing, but the stone tile flooring can be slippery from long use, so be careful when walking in the bath area. The buffet has a good spread of dishes. I especially enjoyed the dinner scallop miso soup, handmade sushi, and desserts. The restaurant was lively and fully packed with both local Japanese families and overseas tourists. One minor downside was the seasonal fruit such as lychee. It would be better if the hotel ensured the fruits were properly washed before serving.Wi-Fi connection in the hotel is strong and stable unlike the big spa hotel in lake Toya which I just stayed a few days ago.

Stayed here with 2 friends for our ist night , booked it as it was cheap price with early booking.|Room was clean and very old hat . |Washing basing had cracks in it . |Also lots of wear & tear throughout the hotel from the room window, to the huge old style hot spring public baths on lower levels ... Also only very short time frame for the rooftop open air onsen ?|The buffet dinner was very disappointing as|was the buffet breakfast with lots of rude people pushing & shoving like animals?|The food was the worst we've eaten in 4 trips to Japan. |However in saying that the staff were very helpful and friendly.|Also I must admit the rooms view suits its name |10/10 .|I'm not sure if we would stay here again though.|If on a budget it's ok ...I think |As a tip the family mart , Lawson are only 4 minutes walk and cheaper on drinks and snacks rather then the hotel lobby shop ...|They seriously need to give the old place a makeover ? |Cheers for the great staff and friendly respectful staff

My stay felt like I was on a cruise, but better! Lobby & Check-in: A Lobby was welcoming and has a nice scent. Check-in process was pretty efficient despite having to fill out a guest information form. Staff was polite and spoke English. Room: A I booked Japanese room in the Annex (New) Building. Room was clean, bright, with sufficient outlets, and no funky smell. Bedding was made while I was having dinner. Onsen Facility: A Moderate size. Water was set to reasonable temperature and not too hot. There were plenty of different hair and skin care products to use after bathing. The only thing I didn't like was the funky time switching of the open onsen bath on the top. Restaurant & Food: B- This is the weakest point of this resort. The restaurant looks nice and has great ambiance with ample size for all guests during my stay. The food quality of the buffet food was lacking. It seems that the resort chose quantity over quality. There were many different varieties of food but they were average. The best items for me were the fresh cherry tomatoes and the soft-boiled eggs. Some restaurant staff kept passing by my table while ignoring my finished tray of plates. Some staff were more energetic and cleaned up after guests. Facilities: A+ The gift shop in the lobby was huge with plenty of stuff to look through. They have a lot of Hokkaido-area items in addition to a variety of drinks. This gift shop is the best I have seen in all of the hotels and cruises I've been on! They seems to have a few water activities that are family-friendly at the basement. I only did a brief walk-through so couldn't comment on the quality. They have a decent size arcade with some games with prizes and crane machines. Games were mostly 100 yen with some 200 yen. Crane machines were 100 yen per play. This arcade is so much better than those expensive arcades on cruise ship. I played some games and enjoyed myself.

The hotel offers a variety of onsen experiences, including a rooftop open-air bath, which was a highlight of our stay. The small indoor water park was enjoyable, though access to the slides required renting additional equipment, which felt unexpected given the room rate. The Western-style room, while functional, appeared dated, particularly the furnishings, and the pillows lacked adequate support. During our two-night stay, the breakfast and dinner buffet menus remained the same each day, which limited variety.

large room, warm and cozy, easy access, the food was ok, there are many types of desserts and they are all delicious. The view is great. Staffs are kind.

Stayed here as a solo guest on November 13–14, 2025. Pros: Great amenities with multiple onsens (indoor, outdoor, rooftop) and both wood and cold steam rooms. Breakfast buffet is decent. There’s a free shuttle to Sapporo Station, and it’s probably the cheapest full-service hotel in Jozankei. Cons: Rooms are very dated with old upholstery, manual door locks, and an outdated TV. Beds are uncomfortable. The dinner buffet is a letdown. When the tour groups from Korea and China arrive, it gets very noisy and crowded, especially during dinner and check-in. Overall, a solid 3.5. It’s good value for Jozankei, but there are likely better options.

Very disappointing experience for the price (about 33,000 yen per night). The hotel has a strange and inconvenient policy(if this is even a policy because we didn't know it before) : they only come to set up the futon between 18:00–21:00. Our room the maid came at 20.15hrs!!!! That means you cannot rest, lie down, or take a nap at all during the day, even though you’re paying a premium price. For such a cost, I expected flexibility, comfort, and proper service, but instead not telling, i felt restrictive and inconsiderate to guests. You are waiting 10minutes to chase the elevator. Surrounding convenient, that's all. I would not book this hotel if i have known about this situation in advance. Definitely not worth the money — I would not recommend this hotel.

We got a Japanese type room for 5 persons in the new annex 16th floor. It has a nice view of the mountain. The room is a little old but clean. The corridor on the 16th floor is a little dark. The room door is quite hard to open as you need to turn the key and push the heavy door to open it. They provided a gum tape so we can stick bugs that flew into the room. The dinner place on the 1st floor is huge but since it was crowded due to the public holiday, it took us about 30mins to line up before getting seated. It would be wise to check with the staff what time is the best to avoid congestion.

Yelp
I LOVE, love, love this hotel! My family and I have been staying at the Jyozankei group hotels for almost 20 years for vacation and business! If you are looking for a VIP experience or even for regular nice stays, I highly recommend staying at their hotels! Their services are top notch! They also offer full of entertainment for everyone! You cannot get bored at this hotel! Make sure to bring your bathing suit because they have a huge lagoon water park in the hotel!
