The top of the JR Tower is one of the easiest sightseeing spots that you can go to while in Sapporo. This is connected to the same building as Sapporo Station, which is a subway station you're pretty much guaranteed to use when visiting the area. Within the JR Tower, it is fairly easy to find out where to go to go up to the observatory deck for English-speaking tourists because there is signage in English.
The observation deck offers a 360° view of the city with relaxing music and decently priced food/drinks. I thought the food/drinks would be overpriced because I assumed that this place was more of a tourist attraction, but it wasn't! The price of admission is ¥720 for adults and is cheaper for kids, according to their website. Note: You can enter for free if it's your birthday, and there are other various discounts for admission on their website. To buy a ticket in person, they have self-serve kiosks, which have various language options.
While enjoying the view, I ordered a berry parfait, and it had just the right amount of sweetness. I wish I had remembered how much the parfait was but I just know it wasn't expensive compared to the price of other parfaits you can get in the city. Eating such a beautiful parfait while looking at the city from above made me feel complete. It also makes a super aesthetic and Instagram-worthy pic LOL
The atmosphere is super relaxing, and they play a mellow piano soundtrack, which easily puts people at ease.
