As a international student living abroad in Italy I have been on the hunt for an authentic sushi spot, and while many places in Milan have disappointed me- I had some hope for J’s Hiro considering their good reviews. I dined in for dinner and played it safe with their Salmon Torched Nigiri, Miso soup, and Samurai roll. The rice was undercooked, hard and slimy, while the fish was not fresh and very fishy. I ended up not eating the rice on the nigiri and only being able to tolerate each piece with ginger. Also their miso soup is not authentic- it tastes sweet and fishy. Overall for the quality, the price point is high, and I can find this quality sushi from the supermarket for half the price where I am from. Usually, I would also never write a review against a small business either but I woke up with a horrible stomach ache and have ruined my night before a flight.

Must make an order for place before , always packed. The food is amazing , excellent sake and Japanese beer. The stud is very friendly and always willing to serve and recommend. Must visit!

The room is noisy and the service is low quality as the food. The main negative aspect was the wrong bill and the owner did not want to pay us back. We strongly do not recommend the place.

I went to J's Hiro after a couple of years, and I was shocked by how much the quality of food, size of portions had worsened as opposed to the price (at lunch) which had skyrocketed. I know inflation is running high, but i swear I will never go back to this restaurant. Milan is full of sushi places and the fact that you developed a good name during covid does not give you the right to reduce your sizes and increase your prices. We had 1 water, 1 beer and 1 main course each (2 people) and spent over 60 euros for lunch. The food was ok, nothing special, the place did not have a nice smell at all, and the sushi rolls were tinier than the ones that I buy at the supermarket. If you want sushi, I did not see a big difference with Pam local or Esselunga. Sorry, but big big disappointment.

The food is truly amazing. I trusted them to bring olates off menu. The service too was friendly. I strongly recommend yiu book in advance as few tables are available.

Not much to say about the food because we never got to taste it. We tried many times to call before lunch and no one answered. When we arrived we were ignored for 10 minutes on the entrance, then we were just told to go away. The food might be good (who knows), but the customer service is largely lacking.

Worst. Better go to other Japanese restaurant by Chinese. Sour Udon taste? Ridiculous. Awful restaurant in Milan.

Good quality but the portions are too small. We spent 90 eur (no wine, just one beer) and needed a pizza afterwards

Yelp
This place doesnt deserve a review... The service was a disaster and its explained as follows: we first order some cold appetizers followed by couple of main dishes mainly different tempura... Interestingly they brought everything at the same time... We kindly asked tompls bring the hot food later on and 5 minutes later the food was brought back again at which time we kindly asked once again to pls wait... At thispoint we cancelled the hot dishes and the owner as a revenge told us the kitchen was closed..... The food and ingredients were good but service rules.... After all, you can always prepare great food at home with exceelent ingredients so why pay if the service is a disaster ? Restaurants thrive when the tables turn around is short but towards the end of thnight when some tables were empty does it make sense to push your customers ? Can we have red stars as in negative stars please ?!

Yelp
One of the very few real Japanese restaurants in Milan, managed by Ms. Hiromi-san, from Osaka. You should come here for a taste of everyday Japanese food. They also have sushi, but IMHO that's not the (main) reason why you should pay a visit (or several) to J's. Try the udon or soba, the sukiyaki or the fish dishes... (karage -fried chicken- is good too!).

Yelp
good miso, excellent quality sushi, ... the only drawback was the fake crab meat, but it was good fake crab meat! I went after the lunch time rush, 2pm, so the service was great, but that wasn't a real test. The quantity is okay perhaps a bit low... expect to spend 15 euro for a decent size lunch.
