J's Prairie Rose -- What a gem!
I wanted some serious breakfast and that's what I got. Take a look at that plate I posted, which they aptly named "The Tower". Biscuits and gravy, Plus eggs, Plus sausage, Plus hash browns. That golden egg yolk soaked down into the biscuit and I knew I had found Prairie Heaven.
I'm a New Yorker so I have high expectations for coffee. I expect strong, early, repeat. J's really delivered, fast and frequent. I could hardly have been happier. In fact, I decided the one thing that actually could make me happier was a slice of home-made pie. Please refer to my picture, "Save room for the home-made pie". The one thing that made me happier. What a great pie, make sure you save a little room for it. The crust is not easy to get just right! J's Prairie Rose got it just right.
Let's talk about the service. It was So friendly. As busy as it was, and it was brisk the whole time I was there, the staff were all just as nice as pie. Again, refer to the picture. That pie, that's how nice everyone was. I felt as welcome as if I were in my own regular diner back home. And the cost: Very Reasonable. I dropped like $13 bucks.
I enjoyed myself so much that I got up early the next day so I could have another breakfast before heading out of town.
If you're in Laramie, make sure to visit the Prairie Rose. If you're in Cheyenne, drive to Laramie and visit J's Prairie Rose. If you're in Denver: still worth the trip.
Thanks, J and family! See you next time I visit.
