This place was so good that we decided to come back and eat here again just two days later. On our first night in Cartagena, we stumbled upon it while walking around trying to figure out where to eat. As it turns out, a friend had actually recommended it to me when I told her I would be visiting.
The first time, we had dinner and sat outside in the plaza. The area was bustling—every table was full and there was a line of people waiting to be seated. There was plenty of foot traffic for a Thursday night, and live music from local street performers added to the atmosphere. Everything felt perfect: the setting, the people, the food, and the music was a wonderful touch.
The service was great until the very end. After we finished eating, it took the waiter about 20 minutes to clear our table, and you could see the frustration building among the neighboring tables who were waiting to place their orders. That was really the only hiccup of the evening.
We returned for lunch two days later, and it was just as enjoyable. This time we sat inside, where the décor was simple but very tasteful and effective. Once again, the quality of the food was superb.
I highly recommend this place. It’s best to make a reservation in advance; otherwise, you might be waiting for a while. People really dress up to come here—the fashion, especially from some of the women, was absolutely stunning.
Definitely a must-visit.
