A very small airport which has a souvenir shop (highly overpriced), bar, chocolate & coffee kiosk (supporting local & less $), a small spot selling cold beverages, muffins, cinnamon buns, sandwiches, etc. Announcements are extremely difficult to hear. Upon take off, the crew waved to us!!! What an incredible & fun way to end a trip! Kudos & thanks to the Marketing Dept & all Staff who participated!!

The fact that the airport is small, you deplane onto the rainway, the Wi-Fi barely works, and there’s occasional chaos… I could forgive all of that. But what is truly unacceptable is the arrival immigration control, which takes an incredibly long time. It seems like in Honduras they think we’re all criminals, considering they take our fingerprints every single time. They might as well take toe prints too. Do they even realize that our passports already contain chips with all our information? The worst part is when the immigration officer is in training and keeps asking their colleagues what to do. And let’s not forget when an officer simply shuts their office and goes home because their shift is over—even though people are still waiting. Tourists bring a significant amount of money to your country, and you should treat them accordingly. Even more so when it comes to repeat visitors. You’ve taken my fingerprints multiple times a year.

Arriving traffic is terrible with lanes combing into 1 to pay for parking. Departing is terrible. Long lines. Small and dirty. Many check points.

Small terminal building. Not much to do. The landing strip is very nice, just next to the ocean.

Awesome little airport. Pack a snack and download a movie before you arrive (you'll need to buy beverages past security). Staff was really helpful, bathrooms clean, and the check-in / immigration was faster than any US airport (30 min). Just make sure you have your QR code ready. Holes in the ceiling? Random birds or lizards? Can't hear announcements? No wifi? Correct. They also had chairs and a working plane.

I went through this airport on a last minute flight after being medically disembarked from a cruise ship. I arrived by taxi so had no issue with navigating my way in. The staff were helpful and polite. I was there early and avoided any crowds. Clearing immigration and security was very simple. I was basically in one big room with chairs, a teeny bar, coffee/food shop, and gift shop. Simple, clean enough, and there's a view of the water across from the tarmac. Easy in and out which is all I need from an airport.

For a small island in a developing nation, this airport is pretty much what one should expect. Yes - getting into the airport by car is a pain. I might suggest approaching it from the west only because turning left into the airport is tough given the line that forms from the west and the general manner in which locals drive - not always the most cooperative. It's a very small airport, and the air conditioning inside isn't the greatest. But for the most part the employees are friendly and helpful. Pro tip: When you check in for your departing flight they will point you to a QR code for the required departure document. Scan the code and fill it out before you approach the security checkpoint entrance as you'll need it before the will let you proceed - just saves a little bit of frustration. I would guess that most travellers through this airport - like I was - are tourists. Just relax - you're on vacation - it will all be fine. :)

Nice little airport on the coast. -3 different ATMs side by side at the west end of the lobby, before entering departures customs. -Some car rental, tour rentals, tourist shops, coffee shop, Bar. washrooms right outside arrivals. -I landed here with United airlines from houston around 11:30am. and took off with WestJet to Toronto delayed to around 4pm (delay because of westjet deiceing in canada, not roatan) -The pilots say both before landing and before takeoff that the runway at Roatan is bumpy, and to be prepared. There was a little bit of bumps, but it wasnt anything more then a slightly bumpy ride for me. Arrival: -There is no Jet bridges, all planes use stairs. They brought the stairs up fast to our plane, and every plane i watched them do while we waited for our plane when leaveing. A good ground crew. -My plane arriving was a mostly empty 737, so not too many people, and you go right to a que line for passport control, where you either fill out a form online in advance, or online with your phone from the "scan here" boards while in the que line. Or a agent will hand out a paper form for you as you enter the que line. The passport control went slowly, there was 3 officers working, and 1 got up and left for some reason, and another one had a major issue with a guys passport so he was stuck on him for 20 min, so it went slowly with 1 person untill the others started again. -Small baggage claim right behind the passport desks, then exit to airport main lobby. Departure: -departing i walked to the airport from hotel economica just down the street, walked past the checkpoint at the entrance to airport, no one asked me or came out of the booth. -Checked in at westjets single counter, but there was no line. Checked my baggage. -Went to the departures customs, you again need to have a online or paper copy filled out for exiting honduras. Westjet had a "scan here" thing at their counter, and the airport has free Wifi. -Small passport control after, and then security. no line for both. -security has a full body scanner but they were not useing it. just the walk through metal detector. -The lounge area is small, its a small "L" shape, with limited seating for the size of the flights. There is 4 gates, which were glass doors to the planes outside. the bigger planes (westjet, American, Delta, United) had small counters and ropes to put up, and the smaller local ones just had a line of people. but the lounge was not big enough for the 2-3 large narrowbody planes and couple smaller planes departing within 1 hour. -The jazz cafe in the lounge ran out of food because there was so many people, and the bar in the corner where i spent the last of my Honduras cash, ran out of cold coca cola so gave me glass with ice. not a big deal for me but it showed the amount of people stressed the restaurants. -there is 2 water coolers in the room to drink water from, i filled up my water bottle from one, but the other was empty. -When my westjet plane was lineing up to board, another big plane also started lining up right beside us and the lines merged in the middle aisle and it was confusing who was in what line. Small lounge. -It was nice to be able to see the planes through the big glass windows, only a few feet away, you can watch them arrive. -There is signs around the airport, inside and out, about the "big upgrades and lots of money" going to the airport soon, but there is no date posted for this to start or end, so we will see. Sopost to make the terminal bigger. Overall a decent experience for a small airport
