We had an incredible experience here with the shamans during a beautiful ayahuasca ceremony. The setting itself is stunning, surrounded by real, untouched clouds that contrast starkly with the chemtrails I'm used to seeing in Europe. Through the ceremony, ayahuasca helped release the tension I stored whenever I heard something unpleasant, which I believe will have a positive impact on my relationships. I’m grateful for this opportunity to heal and for the beauty of this sacred place. Here are a few photos to capture the essence of this unique experience.

Beautiful ruins and an amazing hike up the mountain to some beautiful waterfalls.

I went there on my last trip. We walked in from Tambomachay. It is 8 hours plus. Returned down through Lamay the next day. Beautiful hike and very few people do it. You can also start in chinchero and I think it is about 5 hours to huchuy Qosqo. You can go from Calca also or walk out that direction. Lots of options to get there. People do walk from Lamay up to the ruins and return the same way. Perfectly honest description of that route In. One word comes to mind. Brutal. It is very steep and switches back and forth up the mountain. If your not in pretty good shape and used to the altitude I wouldn't climb in that way. It's the shortest but most demanding trail in.

The archeological site is large but can be explored in an hour or 2, afterwards you can hike up the valley to the left out of the gate. We hiked up the valley and camped overnight along the stream.

We hiked from Laguna Puray, Chinchero, across to Juchay Coscco! Spectacular views, and amazing experiences along the route. A real gem high in the mountains overlooking the town of Lamay. A very steep ascent and descent, especially arriving from the valley.

Got a bus to Chincero from "Paradero Buses a Urubamba via Chincero" which cost 8 soles for 2 people. From there got a tuk tuk to the start of the hike for 20 soles. The walk is beautiful and takes you through some great scenery. Took less time than expected to be honest, reached the ruins in about 2 hours. Didn't pay any entrance fee as noone there. The walk back down to Lamay took about another hour. I wouldn't recommend walking up and back from Lamay as the view would never change and would make for a quite a boring hike! I think it would almost take the same amount of time as well. Colectivo back to Cusco from Lamay cost 12 soles for 2 people. Dropped us off at "Paradero a Pisac". Great day out and would highly recommend.

Nice hike to get there. The site is really isolated from mass tourism. If you get there try to spend a night with inhabitants (3 rural houses can host visitors, a good experience)
