Great trekking! Medium level! Fun and easy to do in one day! If you get to stay overnight, you’ll be amazed by the look of the milky way and the lighting on the mountain in front of the ruins

The trail doesn't have many signs along the way, so I recommend using a hiking app, it really helps you stay on track and not get lost. Look up Huchuy Qosqo. The climb is quite steep and the altitude makes it more challenging. We took our time and, since we're used to hiking, it took us around 3 hours to reach the top. The way down can be done in less than 1.5 hours. I loved this hike! We took a colectivo from Pisac to Lamay for 2 soles, and the bus dropped us off right in front of the road where the trail starts. Highly recommend it if you like hiking! 🥾

An amazing place with a lot of energy, offering impressive views of the mountains and well-preserved Inca architecture. It’s not very popular, so you’ll often find it quiet and without crowds. Historically, it is believed to have been an important administrative and ceremonial center during the Inca period, later serving as a refuge for Inca leaders. A peaceful and powerful spot to connect with both history and nature.

If you are in pisac, you can take a collectivo to Lamay (2 soles) or Calca (2.5 soles). The way to Juchuy coscco from Lamay is shorter but steep and slippery The way from Calca is quite far but the path is more easy because it is for a car. You can take a Tuktuk from the town to foothill(10 soles) then hike up around 3 hours Or you can take a car there and then walk a little bit. I prefer the Calca side because the view when I arrive there is more impressive. (But it is not a big deal , you can walk up from Lamay and go down from the Calca side too) For the ruinas is ok but the scenery up there is amazing. I talked with the locals, it is a free entrance for now. I saw they are building a cable car, it will probably be launched next year.

We had an incredible experience here with the shamans during a beautiful ayahuasca ceremony. The setting itself is stunning, surrounded by real, untouched clouds that contrast starkly with the chemtrails I'm used to seeing in Europe. Through the ceremony, ayahuasca helped release the tension I stored whenever I heard something unpleasant, which I believe will have a positive impact on my relationships. I’m grateful for this opportunity to heal and for the beauty of this sacred place. Here are a few photos to capture the essence of this unique experience.

The archeological site is large but can be explored in an hour or 2, afterwards you can hike up the valley to the left out of the gate. We hiked up the valley and camped overnight along the stream.

I went there on my last trip. We walked in from Tambomachay. It is 8 hours plus. Returned down through Lamay the next day. Beautiful hike and very few people do it. You can also start in chinchero and I think it is about 5 hours to huchuy Qosqo. You can go from Calca also or walk out that direction. Lots of options to get there. People do walk from Lamay up to the ruins and return the same way. Perfectly honest description of that route In. One word comes to mind. Brutal. It is very steep and switches back and forth up the mountain. If your not in pretty good shape and used to the altitude I wouldn't climb in that way. It's the shortest but most demanding trail in.

We hiked from Laguna Puray, Chinchero, across to Juchay Coscco! Spectacular views, and amazing experiences along the route. A real gem high in the mountains overlooking the town of Lamay. A very steep ascent and descent, especially arriving from the valley.
