Jugendherberge Engelberg

Unfortunately, my experience with this hotel was very disappointing. When I booked through Booking.com, there was no clear mention that I had to pay an extra 10 CHF for parking. I was shocked when I arrived and was told I had to pay for parking, even though I was under the impression that it was included or at least should have been clearly stated. Because of this, I had to drive to a friend’s hotel nearby to park my car and then walk back to this hotel on foot. This was very inconvenient. I believe it’s the hotel’s responsibility to clearly mention all extra charges in advance. I would not stay here again.

kind people, comfortable room, good breakfast. It's just a 10 minute walk from engelberg station, so it is perfect to stay before heading into the mountains!

It was in a good location and a good value for the money. What I didn't like about it was the very late check-in. Check in time was at 5pm check out is before 10am.

Nice youth-hostel quite centrally located. Good service and break-fast.

It is a youth hostel, don't expect anything too nice. The bathrooms were sanitary, but not clean if you get what I mean, they were just a bit meh. What was nice is that there were very few people staying here when we were, so we got a six person room for ourselves (2 people) One very positive thing is that the views from this hostel were absolutely stunning!

Great place to stay for a hiking trip. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and we were very happy with our room! Highly recommended!
