I booked several times beds in a 6-beds room for my wife and me. Orher people is usually kind, so no problems with the shared room. The Hostel is always very clean bathrooms are perfects. The Staff is very kind and friendly. Top level buffet breakfast and good dinner. Ski-room available. Cross-country trails start just outside the Hostel and anyway both the railway station and the bus stop are 1 minute far from it.

The most convenient location when getting off of the train, directly across the street from the station! The hostel is a 15 minute walk from the town main street and has a restaurant right next door, also. The hostel itself is neat, although there is no elevator it's only got 3 floors and the stairs were spacious enough so getting to the room wasn't too bad. The mixed 6bed dorm on the 3rd floor was rather small, it may be challenging to move around it should all the beds be filled and everyone would have luggage. The pillow and duvet covers were really nice, clean and felt good on the skin. The room temperature was good. Both, the towels and the room locker were extra (CHF 3 for the towel, CHF 2 for the locker). The window was overlooking the train station, so although it wasn't "mountain view", it was entertaining watching people get off the Bernina Express and take selfies and posing as groups before hopping back on. The bathrooms are separated for male/female and are spacious, the female portion was clean and the water was nice and hot. The common areas had seating, electric kettle, books.. but nothing much was happening there. The restaurant seemed cozy with its fireplace, it is a shame it is limited to certain hours :( and the guests are expected to leave promptly. Breakfast ends at 10am and the staff does check to make sure everyone is gone. Dinner is 6-8pm I believe, and again, after dinner the place is locked down. It would have been lovely to be able to sit by the fireplace after dinner.Breakfast was tasty and provided some hard boiled eggs, yogurts, muesli, cereal, breads, jelly, honey... Reception staff was very friendly and helpful!Overall a great stay and I would stay again.

Stayed here as a cheap option for a family of four. We stayed in a quad room with bunk beds. One minute walk to the train station, but 10 minutes to Pontresina. Breakfasts was surprisingly excellent. Good access to hiking and biking. Strick on check-in (4pm) .

Stayed at this hostel for a unicycle event. Fantastic venue, the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food was great. Could do with more toilets and showers for a large group but that's only a minor point and did not impact the enjoyment of our stay.

We have spent about ten days at Pontresina Youth Hostel, as we usually do every summer. The Hostel has always met our needs in the past. We are happy to say that also this year, despite the change of management, we have had a great time. First of all, Patric and Tina – the new managers – proved to be very friendly and professional, focused on making our stay enjoyable. The location of the structure allows easy access to all the tourist destinations of the Engadine - and free of charge for the hostel guests. Some parts of the hostel – the wooden stairs, for instance – have been renovated. At meals the portions are generous, even if the choice of dishes has been somewhat reduced. Breakfast, on the other hand, is more than satisfactory, with a wide choice of sweet and salty foods (the cappuccino is extraordinary, believe me!). The rooms are comfortable and extremely quiet at night, thanks to precise rules and the good education of the guests. As in all hostels, bathrooms are shared but very clean. WiFi is available in approx 80% of the facility. ||Speaking of prices, we have not noticed any increase compared to last year, except for the cost of parking which is now 10 francs. Considering the excellent level of the tourist structure and remembering that we are in Switzerland, the quality/price ratio is very good. What makes the difference for us is the Euro/CHF exchange rate, which obviously affects non-swiss guests. But for a beach holiday in most Italian seaside resorts I would not have paid less.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights. We had a room to ourselves with a bathroom just across the hall. The second night about 20+ high schoolers were staying here as well and we NEVER heard them. It was very quiet. Our room overlooked the playing fields, which was alot of fun. I cannot say enough about the service...and that word does not cover it at all. It was more like friends and family than service. We have since recommended folks stay here (and some are coming in 2 weeks!). The food...blew us away. It was outstanding. I felt, honestly, that we were eating at a 4 star restaurant. So surprised. Breakfast, also, was amazing. They did have wine, etc. It is right across from the train station BUT we heard NO trains at night. The prices for lodging and dinner were the best anywhere. Highly, highly recommend.

Highly recommend for anyone looking to get a delicious and filling meal in Pontresina for a great price. Soup, salad, and a main + dessert for only 19.50CHF per person! Was open to non-hostel guests like us but just had to reserve in advance in case they did not have capacity. Staff is also very friendly. Meals are meatless on certain days but delicious regardless.

The staff is wonderfully friendly and accommodating, the location can't be beat (mere steps from the train station), and the food is always delicious. The breakfast spread is generous and includes fruit, yogurt, cereal, bread, cheeses, and cold cuts. The dinner always includes a vegetarian option and a salad bar. Cannot recommend this place more highly.
