Pretty much what you'd expect from an HI-affiliated hostel in this area: clean, comfortable, well run, lots of rules, a bit Spartan. The location on top of a hill is cool, and there's lots of space outside. Walking especially up the hill could be tiring, but there are several transit options, which is free with a card you get at check in. Breakfast was a simple continental spread, with yogurt, granola, meats & cheeses, and bread.
This was a very family friendly hostel, and many kids were there. There's a playground just outside and a playroom with toys & foosball. The rooms seem to be mostly 4-person, which is good to be either shared or for a family.
I had read that leaving luggage on arrival day before check in was ok. We got lucky that someone was at reception when we arrived. But otherwise, I'm not sure how that would have worked: there were plenty of accessible lockers in the hallways, but it seemed normally you'd need a key fob to get in the outer door from 10a-5p.
