Basically EVERYTHING is gluten free?!? Yes please. This place was on our 'must try' list almost a year ago when we planned things out... WORTH the wait ;) (and there wasn't much of a wait once we got there and ordered!) Gluten Free FRIED chicken was delicious, fries (no cross contamination!?!) were perfectly crispy, and... The crispy chicken skins -for real- as good as anything we had in Kentucky/Tennessee BBQs stateside. Would definitely recommend to anyone, but exceptional for any one with Gluten sensitivities.

Rhiannon Fraser

Google
We went in to celebrate a birthday and have a gluten free meal! The food was exceptional! Everything we ordered was a flavourful and delicious. 4 of us at the table and we ordered - 3 chicken sandwiches, 2 loaded fries, chicken and waffles, mac and cheese and 10 piece spicy nuggets. Definitely our new favorite family restaurant!

Michelle McLatchy

Google
It's not cheap but very good. Every once in awhile I feel like fried chicken and as someone who can't have gluten this place is amazing. The chicken is great, the ribs are great, the hush puppies are a favourite. For a gluten free meal I highly recommend Juke Fried Chicken.

Beatrice Sebastian

Google
Pretty darn good chicken and waffles! Although I did find that the chicken was missing some flavour and was on the blander side of the scale. Despite this, the waffles, sauces, cornbread, homemade iced tea, and fries were all amazing! The iced tea was super refreshing during a hot day like today at 23°C and full sun. Might come around next time I’m in Chinatown

Google
Ordered from Uber Eats. Will not be ordering again. $14.50 for a mac and cheese that is over seasoned and dry. It’s the size of my hand… I am a petite person. Outrageous price for “value” that you are getting. Ordered three pieces of deep fried chicken it tastes like flour more than anything else. Feedback for the company find a new cook or retrain yours. Food quality not up to par.

Hossein Hassanzadeh

Google
Not only the batter is crispy and we'll seasoned, the chicken itself is also tasty and flavorful. Don't forget the waffles, it's a great complimentary.

Google
5/5 service, 5/5 fried chicken, 4/5 chicken nuggets, 3/5 fries. But my celiac heart is very happy with the gluten free chicken. Head next door to Chickadee room to dine in!

Jocelyn Steinke

Google
This is a great place for fried chicken. The All Dressed fries are huge and delicious. My husband had the 5 piece chicken nuggets and was very happy with them. I had the featured sandwich, Caesar Bacon Chicken, and it was impressive. As someone with celiac, it is hard to find craveable foods, but this fried chicken is a must have! It's not "good for gluten free" it's just good, period. The service was great. As a heads up seating is limited before 4pm so be aware that pick up might be better unless you're there when the dining room is open

Yelp
Everything about Juke is amazing. Their chicken sandwich, Drumsticks and Thighs are crispy, juicy and full of flavour. I recommend the spicy chicken sandwich!

Yelp
Beware, only 2 tables were made available for sit-in dining which were occupied during lunch period. Lack of staff, cost savings, not sure but good way to lose business during the busy lunch periods. So unfortunately strictly for takeout during lunch, disappointed as I wanted to try their chicken in house.. Front counter staff too busy filling up liquid condiment containers, no acknowledge or smile, basically ignored us standing in front of him, nah. too many other chicken joints that would appreciate my business bye

Lina A.

Yelp
Ordered the popcorn chicken, chicken nuggets (spicy), and the all dressed fries. The fries was a pretty sizable portion and can easily be shared between 2 people, 3 even if all are light eaters. The chicken nuggets were flavorful and juicy on the inside (not undercooked kind of juicy). The spice level wasn't overwhelming. The popcorn chicken was crunchy, maybe a bit dry, but that may just be the nature of them because they're smaller pieces. Also, nothing a little dipping sauce couldn't make better. The pepper ranch was great and the honey mustard was a second fave. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. The music choice was great as well! Lots of old school/90s hip hop music which gave the space a fun vibe.

Christy L.

Yelp
Service was abysmal, chicken was cold, slightly undercooked and slimy, I used to frequent this joint every week but sadly it has gone downhill

DaShawn H.

Yelp
Straight up not very good. Chicken was dry and lacked flavour, and all in all, was not worth the price at all. I could name a ton of other better fried chicken places anywhere else in the city with no effort. Like the place looks trendy on the outside... but then when the food hits the table and the chicken hits your stomach, it's just disappointing.

Yelp
I decided to visit Juke on National Fried Chicken day shortly after they opened for the day. The sandwich was 1/2 off to celebrate so it was only $7. I opted for the gluten free bun as I have a gluten sensitivity. The bun was kind of hard; I really wish they toasted it. The chicken was good but a bit too battered. The flavour was my favourite part as the textures and flavours combined worked really well. The sandwich was cold (I ate it outside right when we received the order) so I was a bit disappointed. That being said, I appreciate that they offer gluten free options. I'm going to give Juke another try, perhaps on a slower day.

Yelp
Delicious. We had the fried chicken, coleslaw, brussels sprouts and popcorn shrimp. Drinks were amazing. Servers were super helpful. Cool vibe. Would recommend

Edward W.

Yelp
The food here was quite tasty here, but the drinks are what set it apart. There's an option for the bartender to make you a drink by just choosing a base. I chose a tequila base and my brother got a whiskey base. My drink ended up being tequila shaken with passion fruit, campari, lemon and oranges, which tasted phenomenal. For food, my brother got the fried chicken sandwich, which was really good. I would've liked it if there was a little less sauce so we could still taste the crunch of the fried chicken and a little less slaw. We also got the Juke box, which came with 2 pieces of fried chicken, 1/4 rack of ribs, and a side of peanut slaw. I thought the flavor of the ribs were amazing but wish it was softer and more tender. The fried chicken was delicious. It had a beautiful crunch and was super juicy on the inside. The peanut slaw had a little bit too much sauce, but was good and a great freshness to balance the heaviness of the meats. Overall would definitely recommend coming here for a great experience!

Carlos G.

Yelp
Phenomenal. This is hands-down, the best chicken I've had. The seasoning and sauces they have to pair are out of this world.

Daniel L.

Yelp
The WORST fried chicken in town.. especially for the price. If you like flavourless dried overpriced fried chicken then this place is for you. The "spicy" fried chicken is not any better, it's just the same tasteless chicken covered in a one note spicy sauce. The sauce is spicy and nothing else, no other flavours, salt, or herbs... The chicken sandwich is sad...stale cold bun with, you guessed it, a piece of tasteless fried chicken. The service is awful, the staff there is standoffish and miserable..they look like they hate their lives.. Save your money and time and go to church's chicken lol. Or if you want good fried chicken go to down low chicken. Can I give a zero star?

Yelp
Since we didn't have the full Thanksgiving turkey dinner this year boy was I happy to hear that Juke has just recently launched the Turducken Sandwich on their menu!! They are only offering a limited quantity so be sure to make a visit if you like a piece of this 'birdie-ful' feast! The sandwich encompasses everything you find in a Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner! Duck wrapped in chicken wrapped in turkey, celery stuffing, herb gravy, brussels sprouts slaw, and cranberry sauce - all nicely tucked in a soft brioche bun. It was quite a mouthful but what a fun sandwich to enjoy during the holiday whether it is to replace the holiday dinner you didn't have or prepping you for the full meal deal!

Iman T.

Yelp
By far one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I had and I had great fried chicken in Saint Louis. Friendly.

Evan C.

Yelp
The chicken was bland, not that crispy, and they gave us 5 instead of 10 pieces! No good. Their corn and chicken fritters were not too bad. Their crispy chicken skins - nicely crispy but has a weird taste to it. Also did not get ranch which we paid for. Too many mistakes. Skip.

Barry W.

Yelp
Just a quick note to say that our enjoyment of this place has not waned. It's not near us, so we have to go out of our way to get there. And I think we've been three times in something like a month -- a lot for us. Most recently, we took a friend who had the Juke Box (1/4 rack of ribs, a couple of pieces of chicken, and a side), and she loved it. We also added a two-piece chicken to our usually order of two sandwiches (which are on egg bread buns, it appears -- not standard hamburger buns like I had previously thought). Not surprisingly, the chicken was very tasty -- crispy, with well-seasoned batter. The parking near here is all at meters, so that's a bummer from my perspective. But it's worth it for the food.

Rochelle C.

Yelp
I love fried chicken and came here from out of town because of the high google reviews. Although I wanted to try nearly everything on the menu, I decided to just try the famous chicken for my first visit. It was very CRUNCHY. The batter has large crunchy pieces and the meat fell off the bone. However, I found it quite flavourless. Even a little more salt would have helped... I prefer places that brine or marinate their fried chicken to provide more flavour.

Christina L.

Yelp
I've tried the chicken sandwich, fried chicken, corn bread, fries, and chicken fritters here. I love the fried chicken. Great crispy batter and flavorful chicken meat. Always good quality meat. The chicken sandwich is average IMO. Chicken fritters are delicious. Corn bread and fries were not so good. I will keep coming back for the crispy fried chicken. Love the batter!

Kate W.

Yelp
Juke Fried Chicken is one of our favorite places to order for game nights with my friends. We ordered twice from them, and the quality was consistently amazing! The chicken was juicy and cooked to perfection, and surprisingly not a lot of bones! The ribs were so delicious and were amazing value! A half size is enough for a large party. The most amazing of all is the fritters!!! We were so blown away by how tasty it was, we ordered 3 orders last time, and we loved EVERY bite. Anyone who can hate on these fritters is an idiot.

Yelp
HONEST REVIEW coming up.. You know the restaurant ain't good when you're hangry af and the peanuts are the highlight of the meal... Juke serves buttermilk gluten free fried chicken, ribs, and other sides like fries. They're known for their fried chicken and I've seen a lot of other foodies raving about it in the past. I'm not sure what all the hype is about but this is not the fried chicken place for me. This was my second time trying it as my first time was also a disappointment but I thought I'd give them another chance. Unfortunately, I was even more disappointed this time. We ordered their 5pc buttermilk fried chicken ($15) and their 15pc Sweet & Spicy Wings ($21). We were so excited to try both of these items but were left feeling confused and unsatisfied. The fried chicken was not crispy and the soggy skin was falling apart from the meat already. I don't know if it's because they were premade and just sitting on the warmer before we picked them up but they were not fresh. The taste was BLAND as well. The only good thing about this one is that the chicken wasn't overcooked and it wasn't dry. As for the Sweet & Spicy Wings, it already did not look appetizing upon first glance. There was just so much going on and the colour was so intensely red. Someone was a little heavy-handed on all those sesame seeds .. It didn't look like what they advertise on their website. In terms of flavour, it was confusing. It was supposed to be sweet and spicy but it was neither sweet nor spicy enough despite all of the toppings and sauce they put on. It just felt very lacklustre overall. The one thing we did enjoy was the peanuts on this After my second failed visit here, I think it's safe to say that I'll be going somewhere else to satisfy my fried chicken cravings next time. #neveragain

Yelp
Overpriced, stale, hard and dry chicken with a modern looking posh upscale storefront that'll probably trick people once but in my case I'm never coming back again. I'll say I'm the first to try out any new fried chicken place. From KFC to the true and trusty Churches, Popeyes, Jolibee, and other global famous brands i have something to say about each joint and completely straight honest.

Yelp
Cute space off of Main St... lunch is basically like takeout but you can dine in if you choose - they have another menu for dinner. It looks like their bar and their cocktails look like it could be really good! Pros: -Easy to find. -Food comes out quickly. Cons: -Wasn't a fan of their flavors; the fried Brussel sprouts we super tangy and I couldn't finish it. -The chicken and waffles wasn't super hot, seemed like they were sitting under a warmer waiting to be served.

Kelven W.

Yelp
We came here just after opening as we've seen it pretty busy and didn't want to wait in line. I'm a sucker for chicken and waffles so I ordered that... with the extra piece for only $2 extra. The chicken was seasoned well and flavorful. Nice and juicy without the grease. The waffle was freshly made and paired well. I did want a side of syrup as it could have used a bit more sweetness. We did also order a side of chicken wings but they came by to let us know they didn't have any?!? We were the first customers there and this was a place that specializes in fried chicken. So they then asked us what we wanted so we got the chicken strips instead. While we were waiting, my friend ordered 2 chicken sandwiches. They said it wasn't that big but it was a decent size. He said it was pretty awesome! The cole slaw was good and added acidity to balance the fried chicken and bun. Then the chicken strips came and they were very good. Lightly battered and the honey mustard was home made... he said he was full but ended up finishing his second chicken sandwich (it was that good!) So I'd recommend you visit for some good fried chicken. Definitely very good and I'd come back again.

Evan K.

Yelp
Finger licking good local business! If we're feeling peckish and we're in the neighborhood, Juke's chicken sandwiches are a reliable, tasty choice for our family. We usually go for the chicken sandwiches, which are two for $12, and come in soft buns with crunchy coleslaw. The chicken is always hot, crispy and well seasoned which is why we keep coming back. On our most recent visit we also offered the fries and cornbread both of which were got and very good. One star off - while the staff are always professional, they are so busy that they don't get the time to offer the personalized service you might get elsewhere. For instance, on our order yesterday we weren't offered condiments for the fries.

Kate C.

Yelp
Ordered it from Fantuan. There was no choice of spicy or not spicy. The one I received was really dark in color. It looks like they burnt it but really it's some dark sauce. The taste is very different and I can't really pinpoint what the dark flavoring is. It's not my type of flavor but I won't dock marks off. As for juiciness.. not very juicy. Churchs chicken and LA chicken is better. The size of the thighs are also missing the full part (like how Win Win Chicken has it) - missing one bone section, so it makes the whole piece smaller. I have been told their chicken sandwiches are better so I will need to try that next time. As for their regular chicken, it was not better than the usuals

Yelp
Crunchy versus crispy. That seems to be the predicament here. Juke has been open for quite some time and I've hesitated coming here because of the lackluster reviews. I finally decided to venture on down and I certainly didn't have high expectations because of the Jekyll and Hyde opinions. What I didn't notice was the crunchy versus crispy back and forth in the reviews. Everybody seems to have an opinion on this. Here's mine. It's just plain HARD. The skin on the chicken here is relatively HARDER than most places in the lower mainland, but not rock HARD inedible. Whether you call it crispy or crunchy is a matter of semantics and your interpretation of it. Don't come here if you have dentures I guess. HARD and dentures don't mix. Points to note: Chicken was seasoned well Dirty fries ordered without the hot sauce, also flavourful. Dirty and HARD go well hand in hand. The fries were also kinda HARD. Definitely wasn't flaccid. Didn't care for the Asian slaw side. I did order one spicy piece with the 5 piece just to see what it was like. Spicy Boyz was spicy, but not HARD. I prefer the regular HARD. I didn't try any of the side sauces that were on the table. I suppose it was to enhance your eating experience to be more pleasurable. Go easy on the sauces. It may lose it's HARDNESS The HARD chicken should be handled with your hands and fingers. Be gentle and you'll be enamoured that it will be hard in your mouth as well. I guarantee it. Limited wine selection by the glass.

Breanne T.

Yelp
My manager and I were looking for something new to try while we were down in China town for lunch. We both had her of Jukes and decided to treat ourselves! We weren't disappointed. I'm glad we decided to try a bit of everything. The chicken was one of the best fried chicken I've ever had. The skin was seasoned well and so crispy. The chicken wasn't dry which I feel like can happen pretty often. The ribs were saucy, just how I like it, and they fell right off the bone! The cauliflower salad was refreshing and the all dressed fries were crispy and drenched in saucey goodness. The juke box deal was definitely worth it. So much food for a good value! And you get a taste of everything. We left super stuffed and I will definitely go back if I'm in the area again.

Andrew S.

Yelp
The fried chicken is amazing! We were waiting for our table across the street, so we just wanted something light. We sat at the bar and had the 2 piece Chicken and 2 piece Corn Dogs. Both were fantastic. The slaw that came with the chicken was great too. Tastes like it was Thai inspire slaw. Not sure though. I just tasted a whole lot of peanuts in there. $7 for 2 pieces of chicken, that's definitely a good deal. I'd also recommend getting the Spice Boyz Sauce for your chicken. Can't get that in California for sure. I also had a Margarita with my pre dinner, dinner. I eat a whole lot of fried chicken. I know fried chicken like I know my body.....jk. Anyway, it's some pretty good fried chicken. Not lying! The bartender was this super friendly woman. According to the receipt, her name is DINNER. HEY DINNER!!! They have both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as about 5 chairs at the bar. Spacious restaurant with a cool vibe. Sports was playing on the tv screens. I'd for sure be a frequent visitor if I lived in Vancouver.

Nicole B.

Yelp
I used to pass by this place and wonder what it was like as the aesthetic of the storefront is very cool.I love to support Vancouver restaurants and wanted this place to be a win. However I regret to say that it was a disappointment. I dove into Uber eats and thought I'd treat my family to some specialty chicken but it was underwhelming. It was literally so basic I had to ask myself what the hype was. I think we could have had more flavour and enjoyment at an Arby's (and I don't eat at fast food places like that) but maybe I should try because this was utterly ridiculous. I spent $57.00 for two people to have a chicken sandwich, all dressed fried (horrible) and the corn fritters tasted powdery and mushy inside. Wow! It's just chicken and it's not that great! I threw the corn fritters and all dressed fries into the compost. Overall I felt it was a wasted of $$

Rebecca S.

Yelp
So on Leap day, Feb. 29th....Juke's was having a buy one get one free deal on their chicken and waffles. I am a huge fan of chicken and waffles so of course had to go and try these guys out. Man....they do an amazing chicken and waffles. It's not typical because the waffles have bits of jalapeño in them, along with pickled jalapeños on top! The chicken was hot, crunchy, super moist and not too oily. And had a slight sauce of sweet and spicy drizzled over top. The waffles were soft and yummy and paired perfectly with the maple syrup provided. I've never had a chicken and waffles that added the spicy element...but it wasn't overly spicy at all, just gave it a perfect warmth at the end. The only thing I think added too many flavours was the rosemary butter that they put on top. It was still good, but I was quite happy without it. We also ordered a poached egg and ham croquette, which sounded delicious. It was really yummy....but I think the chicken and waffles was just so good, that it was overshadowed. The crunchy texture of the croquette with a perfect poached egg and mustard sauce on top again, was really different than anything I've had. They also provided a basic salad, which helped cut the richness of everything, so that was great! This is definitely a place to try, especially for brunch, you will not be disappointed! Hmmmm....might need to go back this coming weekend!

Joanna L.

Yelp
I thought that it was cozy and cute, but overpriced. The food was alright, but not my favourite. Service was ok. Portions weren't that large. The fried chicken sandwich must be the most popular item because it sold out. We got 3 piece of fried chicken and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese had cornbread crumbs, which was delicious. The fried chicken had a hint of ginger that overpowered the dish. The coleslaw was nice, but it is not ideal for someone who has peanut allergies. I will have to try the fried chicken sandwich. I might come back for that for another time.

Bob C.

Yelp
Tried really hard to like this place With the high price i'd expect good quality, and consistently good quality. Maybe 1 out of 3 times i've been there the quality was "good/excellent". It's cheaper, and consistently better quality at churchs... Also the spicy chicken is way too spicy, can't taste anything but spice

Shonah M.

Yelp
Juke Fried Chicken & Ribs restaurant is located on Keefer St @ Main St. located right in Chinatown. Wasn't sure what to expect - an American themed fried chicken & ribs joint in Chinatown!?! Hence why I approach any new places that I have not been to before with zero expectations! I ordered a 2 piece chicken & Brussel Sprouts. I would normally take the crispy fried skin off my chicken & go for the meat - however this time I gorged on it - it was that good! Haven't done that in awhile to be honest but it was sooooo delicious! The chicken was tender & juicy - just the way I like it! Darn it the fried Brussel Sprouts were so amazing! Try them! I threw some hot sauce onto my chicken for added flavour & voila - I was a happy eater! Juke is centrally located which translates to - easy to get too. Take transit or walk from downtown - not far from Stadium station. You'll want to wonder around after you eat - lots of new shops & buildings have spring up lately making this an even more eclectic area! I will go back again & try their ribs!

Sangeetha M.

Yelp
This place is quite busy so I recommend ordering for pick up. Everyone that works there is super friendly. I tried their original chicken and the spicy one. The original chicken was very tasty. Im always hesitant when it comes to deep fried things that it'll be too oily but it wasn't very oily. The spicy chicken was way too spicy for me! I couldn't even take a little bite. Wish they had different levels of heat. Corn bread was okay. I thought it'll be the size of a small muffin but it was huge. The corn chicken fritters on the other hand were unreal!! I don't even know what was in it. It was soft inside and are little bites...they were gone in no time! They were my favourite. Overall I think it's quite expensive for fried chicken.

Jordan V.

Yelp
Juke is OK. Too much crunchy batter for me though. They could conceal almost anything they wanted underneath that hard crusty coating and pose it as chicken. I'd rather have a more succulent and juicy piece of chicken rather than a tough chunk of meat hardly detectable within its shell.

Nicole L.

Yelp
Happy #nationalfriedchickenday Went to Juke Fried Chicken for pre-dinner snacks today as their fried chicken sandwich was 50% off Their fried chicken sandwich was sold out last year, and this year I was glad that I was able to catch the deal Are you a fan of fried chicken? Comment below and let me know what's your favourite place for fried chicken!

Caroline L.

Yelp
Overall I was pretty disapointed. I went to the location in Chinatown. Right away it attracted me with their chill and hip interior and decor. They have seating inside and a little patio seating outside. My order: - 2 piece regular fried chicken ($7.00) - 2 piece spicy fried chicken ($7.50) - Jalapeño cornbread with whipped schmaltz ($5.00) - Fried chicken sandwich ($7.00) My entire order came out in LESS than 5 minutes.. I am ALL about fast service but less than 5 minutes felt odd to me. I personally felt that the prices did not reflect the quality/quantity of the chicken. It is $7.00 for 2 pieces of regular fried chicken and $7.50 for 2 pieces of spicy fried chicken. All 4 pieces of chicken were on the smaller side. There was way more chicken skin coating in ratio to the actual meat itself. Also half of the chicken was cold :(( The best part about the fried chicken was definitely their tasty skin coating and how crispy it was. The sandwich was slightly better but a bit dry and slightly cold. My favourite part about the meal was by far the jalapeño cornbread! It came with two little pieces and whipped schmaltz. It was crumbly and had a good taste of the jalapeños. However like the chicken, it was on the colder side. When I got inside to pay for our bill, I could see that they pre fry all their chicken and leave it out to serve until customers order it. Then my cold and dry chicken made sense :( When eating outside, I witnessed way more people getting take out than sitting inside. I realized that they have more selection for take out with combos and boxes. Their prices for fried chicken are also better because it doesn't come with the slaw. I am unsure if I would try this place again and if I do, I would try out their Davie location.

Becky M.

Yelp
I was happy with what I ate here and the service was decent as we didn't come in at a busy time-6pm on a Wednesday-and we sat at the bar. I had the 2 piece fried chicken that comes with peanut coleslaw; we were given a bonus piece of chicken as two of the pieces were smaller. That was great! I thought the chicken was well fried, just crispy enough. You have the choice of adding hot sauce or getting spicy chicken but I skipped on that. It was $7 for the 2 piece chicken and slaw, very reasonable. We also ordered the freshly made cheeses which come out crackling with a spice on them (not too spicy). It's a nice snack if you just wanna munch on something, but I probably wouldn't get those again. I wish they had the small fried chicken pieces (aka karaage) they have at the Davie Street location (which is closing/getting a makeover). Strange Fellows Brewing had taken over the taps; I'm a fan of their beer, so I was happy to have their IPA for $6. They have drink options of all sorts there.

Hoa H.

Yelp
The chicken was good, but to fair, it's kinda hard to mess up friend chicken. The other stuff in the menu was decent as well. If I'm craving for unhealthy fried food, I would come again :)

Ryan R.

Yelp
The ribs are pretty good, can be a hit and miss sometimes but I find this to be the nature of ribs served by anyone. The chicken is okay but the chicken sandwich is much better. The strawberry lemonade, some ribs and a chicken sandwich on the patio can be great Now the bad and it's kind of become common for me when getting service as of late, it seems like help is hard to find and even tho you serve good food employees with bad attitude cost you customers. Ordered to go, fries spilled as the cook puts them on the counter, the CASHIER with his dirty hands shoved them back in. I asked for new fries, first he insists he only shoved a few back in and then in a hostile tone says "okay but it will be another five min" wtf lol they took it so hard, I wouldn't be surprised if they gave me the same fries back

Nina S.

Yelp
Had high hopes of this newly added foodora restaurant but for what you get the prices are very high! The chicken strips were different sizes one being no bigger than a&w strip very disappointing The Brussels sprouts were very salty and ribs average. Value 1/5 Atmosphere 3/5 Service 3/5 Quality 2/5 9/20

Cristiano K.

Yelp
Mediocre at best -chicken is 7-10 -Mac and cheese taste like cardboard box -poutine has hardly any toppings shity flavour . Service was 2 out of 5 - asked for water , it was warmer then room temperature . Overall the casino hard rock has better food for cheaper !!

Melanie E.

Yelp
We opted for takeout for 7 people. We ordered the ribs, chicken, fries, and fried brussels sprouts. If you like eating your food temperature hot, I would highly suggest that you skip the takeout. This review is based on all 7 most common comments: the ribs were meaty but lacked 'wow', the fried chicken was tender and moist amongst all that batter, and the fried sprouts was the favourite dish. Disappointingly, the fries were untouched as it was cold. Let's face it, cold tasting fries will turn most people off. It did look good if we ate them hot. Maybe we will dine in for a better food tasting experience next time! The Chinatown location was hopping busy.

Edward G.

Yelp
One of a few places in the area where you could dine in and get drinks while waiting. On a cold and rainy day in Vancouver, this is a big plus to warm up and stay dry (especially for me coming from LA). The people at the bar were friendly and the waitress regularly checks if you're taken care of. Spicy chicken was great but I'd probably order the regular fries next time. I was carrying a couple of regular bags, a bike helmet and a backpack inside waiting for hotel check-in time but nobody seemed bothered.

Yelp
Stopped by mid-week for dinner during Dine Out Vancouver. The room was very well laid out with a variety of seating options...booths, tables and a communal table. There are two entrances, one for take out and one for dining in and also a patio out front which would be great in the warmer drier months. And I loved the selection of music they had playing throughout our dinner...gave a great energy to the room. The place was quite busy but we managed to secure a table right away. We opted for one Dine Out meal along with a 3 piece chicken. The Dine Out meal had 2 options for the appetizer and the sides along with a parfait for dessert. We selected the biscuits and beans. Both meals came with a peanut slaw and it was great...probably the best thing on our plates. The biscuits were nice and I like their crispiness. I did find the chicken overly spiced (not sure of the combination of spices...5 spice?) and the batter was quite hard. The chicken itself was cooked well. The parfait was a nice dessert with the crunchiness of the mixed nut praline. And unfortunately the service was a challenge. There was only one person waiting on all the tables and as good as she was, it was not possible to meet her service demands. We had about 5 minutes to wait to order, they forgot one of our orders and we had to remind them that we were still waiting for an entree, and then we waiting another 5 minutes after finishing our food to get their attention to get dessert. The waitress advised there are usually not this busy and it was only because of Dine Out Vancouver. It was great to finally get to and experience Juke's but we have no plans to return.

Yelp
Take out is not as good as dining in. Unless you are eating the food immediately. The fried chicken did not get soggy in the take out bag after 20 minutes but it is not as crispy. The drumstick is drier than the thigh which is surprising. I love the Brussels sprouts which has a nice tangy taste to it. Unfortunately it is super oily in the take out container. I suggest to dine in instead of getting the food to go. It makes a huge difference.

Yelp
So let me start by saying this is a 3.5 So we were seated at a table when we walked in, which was fine. It's quaint seating for two so it was fine. You are seated quite close to the table next to you, but luckily I was seated to a nice couple who we hit it off with. It's so close you can hear each others conversations. My buddy ordered the fried chicken and I got the chicken burger and fries. The fries were mediocre but the sandwich was amazing. The waitress did warn me it was on the small side, which it was. It was quite delicious and I would order it again. My buddy loved his fried chicken and was the one who insisted we go here. We also ordered two drink and they were disgusting. We tried to drink them, cause well it's booze and we paid for them lol. We couldn't, they were that disgusting and we're not rookie drinkers. The bar tending was basically crappy. Sorry dude/dudette on this past Saturday. Do you test them with a straw before you send that crap out? Horrible. So basically in a nutshell, that's why these guys missed the mark and only got 3.5. I would go back but I wouldn't order any drinks here. Just eat and run! lol

Yelp
Delicious fried chicken. Hot sauce is tasty. I love the juke box, chicken and waffles, chicken strips with honey mustard. Everything is so flavourful. My only complaint is that the fries are always soggy (not crispy) but the chicken is so delicious it makes up for it. Cute packaging too.

Yelp
Yes this place caters to the garbage trash in me. Food and drinks wise so that is why I was found hanging out at the place more than 3-5 times for the past year... Don't judge me. I have to say, their Chicken is very original, and the flavours were AMAZING. Me and my friend ordered 3 pieces each of the SPICY BOYZ. And for sure it was satisfying. It was the perfect amount of food with the Asian style slaw at a decent price!! The waitress totally judged me on saying, the SPICY BOYZ are spicy, and I said, betch plz. Nothing can kill me in spicy wise. And of course I had to add some more spicy sauce in order to make it more spicier. BUT their original SPICY BOYZ sauce was DELICIOUS. I wonder if I can order some of that special sauce in a jar :P Juke's did offer other sauces with their chicken, there were 3 of them and we tried all 3. One of them tasted like that BBQ Honey stuff from the butcher store down the street, one of them tasted similar to the SPICY BOYZ hot sauce but a LOT spicier, and the other one just tasted like mustard. I mean as a person who would go out and eat a lot, a basic friend chicken can't satisfy me much, so of course I would step it up for a SPICY BOYZ. Sorry, but it's true, where is the lie? Anyways, if you are hanging out with me the next time, and ask me where to eat, I might just say Juke's Chicken. For sure on my list of recommendations for Vancouver. Oh, btw the drinks are just Meh. Come for the food though.

Yelp
From the reviews I was expecting something delicious, what we got was the opposite. I am giving two stars because of the fritters and the honey mustard they make in-house were good. Maybe because we ordered it for delivery they don't care as much. I ordered the fried Chicken, Ribs with their sesame coleslaw. They packed the ribs on top of the fried chicken, so it was soggy. It probably didn't matter too much as the fried chicken had ZERO flavour. Like, I was shook by the lack of any type of flavour or seasoning in the chicken. It tastes like it's put in plain, unseasoned flour and fried. So not only was it not crispy it was flavourless and dry. I had such high hopes, but this was a massive let down. Hard Pass.

Yelp
I don't really know where to start with this place. First of all, I would like to say that the chicken itself is very juicy and tender. However, the crispy skin is overwhelming crunchy, as in it cuts your mouth sort of crunchy. It's so hard that we got tired of eating it after a few bites. As for the ribs, we felt like our friends had polar opposite opinions. Some say that the ribs are perfect, while some say that they're very tough and dry. Unfortunately for us, we came on a day where the ribs were extremely tough and dry. Since we had take out, we couldn't go back to complain and we basically wasted our entire order of ribs. Lastly, the brussel sprouts were over soaked in lemon, which completely overpowered the dish. Perhaps they were just having a bad day, but it took 20 minutes for us to get our food so I guess some people really do love their chicken.
