The 20 Best European Christmas Markets to Visit This Winter | Vogue

"From the scent of freshly-baked gingerbread cookies to the charming ferris wheel all aglow, Oslo’s Christmas market in Spikersuppa is a feast for the senses. Try your hand at a pirouette on the ice rink followed by a stroll around the wooden huts hawking everything from ornaments and crafts to Norwegian treats like gløgg, the Scandinavian version of mulled wine." - Nicole Kliest

A very nice and elegant Christmas fair, with nice activities for a little afternoon fun. Something for everyone, from carousels to food, it was a very nice experience.

It was lovely, but only slightly different to the ones we get in UK, repetition of stalls trying to make the event seem bigger. Vendors were pleasant but like everything in Norway, it was expensive.

We were in Oslo and were very lucky that it was already open. Food stalls with a variety of food... even churros "made in Spain," which were delicious with sugar and cinnamon ;) A good option for lunch/dinner without a reservation and for spending a pleasant time. It was busy since it was the weekend, but that's to be expected at a Christmas market. Highly recommended. One tip: all the stalls accept credit cards, and you can take a number at the designated booth to avoid queuing.

2024 season. Felt extra special on Thursday when we visited and it poured with snow. It’s good to see the ice skating area is accessible to anyone without paying - that’s quite unique as in our cities you usually have to pay to access whether you have your own skates or not. We could rent skates which was great. Wasn’t as busy on the ‘attraction’ side but the markets were a bit crowded.

Nice Christmas market close to the city centre.. easily accessible by public transport..lots of different vendors.. had the moose burger there for the first time. And there was a couple selling Norwegian waffles and it was the best..so if you are there you should definitely try these.. the glogg there was pretty good too..nice little shops for your Christmas needs. If you are there in Oslo, this would be a nice place to visit.

I was new to this event/attraction. The decoration was wonderful, and the atmosphere was neat, until I got to the chocolate spin the wheel booth. Where I said hello and asked for help. The employees looked at me, but didnt seem to care. I waited a minute in front of the counter and asked for help again. I wanted to know if they accepted vipps or cash, but no response. Then after a minute I went away saying to my friend "They don't seem to care helping us" This destroyed the whole experience to me. I am truly disappointed and will never go there again.

Great Christmas market, filled with great stalls selling food or gifts, it’s quite small for a city the size of Oslo, but very well laid out, making it easy for anyone to navigate.

Beautiful place, happens every November and December for Christmas. Tasty food and good shopping spot then game. Seeing so many people in winter in Norway is always fun.
