Brussels' charms lie beyond its chocolate and waffles - SilverKris

"Set on a Neoclassical city-centre square with a majestic white façade, this Small Luxury Hotels newcomer makes a strong first impression. Interiors pair statement pieces (including a Philippe Starck mirror and Hermès-inspired corridor) with a dramatic colour palette, while the spa features a hammam and a pool area adorned with Le Corbusier–esque murals." - Clodagh Kinsella

I stayed at Juliana Hotel during my visit to Colombo and it was a wonderful experience. The location on Galle Road is excellent – very central, close to restaurants, shopping, and only a short drive to Galle Face and the main attractions of the city.||The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, offering great value whether you stay for a few hours or overnight. The staff were polite, helpful, and always available whenever I needed assistance.||What I appreciated most was the convenience – easy check-in, straightforward service, and a safe, welcoming environment right in the heart of the city.||If you’re looking for a budget-friendly hotel in Colombo with a great location and reliable service, I highly recommend Juliana Hotel. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip!

Juliana Hotel is a hidden gem in Colombo! Compared to the pricey hotels nearby, this place is budget-friendly with awesome facilities, renovated rooms, and a perfect location. Staff were warm and welcoming. Great stay — I’ll be back!

I stayed overnight at Juliana Hotel recently and it was a very disappointing experience. I politely asked the staff to provide me with a plate to eat takeaway with, since the restaurant serves only Korean food—of which I do not like. But they refused, citing that plates are only provided to those eating restaurant food. I felt this policy was unreasonable and the attitude uncooperative. I felt disregarded and disrespected as a hotel patron. The absence of simple hospitality and refusal to honor a straightforward request made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for reasonable service or regard

This was my second time at Juliana Hotel and it’s even better now! In a city where nearby hotels charge a fortune, Juliana offers amazing value with renovated rooms, all the essentials, and super friendly staff. Perfect location, great service, and budget-friendly — truly the best choice in Colombo! Juliana Hotel Colombo

Absolutely Disgusting Experience – Never Again! We had an extremely unpleasant and disappointing experience at Hotel Juliana. From the moment we entered the room, we were shocked by how dirty and unhygienic everything was. The room was in a filthy condition, with visible dust and grime, and the bathroom had a horrible smell that made it unbearable to use. Despite the cheap quality of the room, the price was much higher than what it was worth. It felt like we were completely cheated. The worst part was that we couldn’t even stay in the first room because of how disgusting it was. When we requested a refund, the receptionist refused, claiming that since we paid by card, they couldn’t process any refunds. Instead, they offered us a room change. We agreed to check the new room before moving, and although it was slightly better, it was still not up to any decent standard. We had no choice but to stay, as we were tired and had no other options. The second room also had dirty bedsheets and pillowcases. We called reception and requested clean linen. We waited for 45 minutes and had to call again. Only after the second call did someone show up—after another 15 minutes—with just one bedsheet and two pillows, which is completely unacceptable. Moreover, the hotel seemed like a hub for prostitution. We noticed several women coming in and out with different men, and it made the environment feel unsafe and extremely inappropriate for families. We were deeply uncomfortable the whole time. It was clear this is not a family-friendly place at all. The staff lacked professionalism, and the service was extremely poor throughout our stay. We truly regret spending our money here. We don’t recommend this hotel to anyone. It was one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had. If we could give zero stars, we would. 😡😡😡😡😡 🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮 🤧

I needed a stop for one night in Colombo and stayed at Juliana. The entrance, reception and lounge looks really fresh. But the room did not hold the same standard at all!. The room felt old and in fresh. The sheets was dirty and my room had an really bad smell(mold?). The cleaning staff was nice and spray something hoping the smell would disappear, unfortunately with no results. Happy I was alone at this trip and my wife was home. They get two stars for the good location and friendly cleaning staff, but the room don’t deserve a star.

By far the worst hotel I've been to in my whole life, the lights are flickering, AC doesn't work, floor is dirty, bathroom is dirty, TV didn't even turn on, No WI-FI, door locks are malfunctioning, can't close the bathroom door fully, elevator doesn't work properly... The only **good thing** is the staff. 2/10 would not recommend

Before reaching the place, we called and enquired if rooms were available. We reached the place in next 10mins and the receptionist gave a worst replying telling all rooms were booked and we need to wait for 45 mins. Gave rude and improper replies without even apologising for the delay. And entrance lobby was stinking giving very old and stale smell of an abundant building. We also had a look into room doubting if it would be clean. It was even more worst smelling stale. We had to leave that hotel with No option left.
