We stayed at this 5-star hotel at the beginning of January.
The hotel is located near the Eiffel Tower and has recently changed its name to the current one, while the rooms and items still read "Juliana". The renovation is still in progress so that the new name is visible everywhere.
The hotel has 2 different bars, downstairs and on the top floor. On the top floor there is also a small meal available in the evenings, which takes a long time to get even if you are the only guests.
Our stay started well, the doorman came to meet our private transport at the door and carried our bags to the reception. We received glasses of champagne as a welcome toast and the receptionist came to show us our room. He said that the cleaners go through the minibar every day and fill it daily. This did not happen to us, but we had to get drinks and other things for our rooms from a local store.
The rooms had welcome macarons (a small sweet cookie) and a nice box of sweets.
The rooms were nice and stylish.
On the first two nights, the evening staff came to bring a couple of glass bottles of room-temperature water and small candies and to tidy up the room for the evening, but on the last night this did not happen. In our second room there was a wilted orchid, it was only replaced upon request.
Breakfast was served on the top floor on a glazed terrace, which was cool despite the individual heaters. The breakfast was small but tasty. There was barbed wire on the edge of the terrace to protect customers.
As a development tip, part of the breakfast service could be moved from the elevator lobby to the terrace bar area. Coffee was only available from a vending machine and it tasted like water, no coffee. The first few mornings, the male water only brought croissants to the table upon request, but on last day of breakfast, the female staff automatically brought them to everyone, which was a nice surprise.
At dinner time, the person working in the bar upstairs spoke and understood English poorly, when we ordered starters, main courses and desserts we only got starters. It would be good to have staff who also speak English fluently in a 5-star hotel.
The lounge area connected to the bar on the first floor is a quiet and nice place to wait for the transfer, for example.
When we were checking out of the hotel and the receptionists asked about our experience, we told them that we were otherwise satisfied, but the cleaning was lacking, no more toilet paper was brought, the minibar was not filled, the flower was only changed upon request, and after that they were rude and rude to us, for example when we returned to the hotel in the afternoon to wait for our transfer to the airport, we were only greeted partially. We had to carry our bags ourselves to our private transfer near the front doors and we were only greeted halfway.
Overall, a good experience.
