It's rare I leave a full-star review on a first visit, but this had to be my favourite place to eat during my whole stay, and the service was everything I want in a restaurant. I'd popped in without a reservation after a long walk. I was greeted kindly and given a few places to sit. I chose somewhere at the back but was moved just the once so I wasn't rushed. The waitress who served was the right amount of attentive. To start, I had the scallops, which tasted perfect, pleasantly plump with potato fondant on a puree that tasted like apricots, cheese, and potato. It was really delicious anyway, especially paired with a white wine. For the main, I was tempted with the goulash but settled on the duck confit with cherries, and the waitress read my mind and offered me a glass of red to wash it down with. The skin was crispy, and the sauce was delightful.
I was offered a little break before pursuing the chocolate cheesecake, which was perfect in every way. The right texture of base and creaminess of the body. With this, I had a sweet wine before a finale of coffee.
Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere, service, and food and would highly recommend.
