Great atmosphere in a tinny place, elegant dinning

Wonderful food, fantastic service and fair prices.

"Where can one have a top-notch dinner in Rio?" used to be a tricky question. But this is undoubtedly one of those places. Here one can enjoy an elaborate menu and a good wine in a quiet, small place with discreet and well-trained staff. The price matches everything well. Definitely a must go for those who enjoy something special.

The food was not bad but the service was less than desirable and the bill was already costly without the added items which we did not order. Unfortunately its not the only time this has occured to me in a restaurant in Rio however it was most expensive and least apologetic attempt.

“Very good contemporary restaurant in a nice neighborhood ” This small and cosy restaurant is located just across the street of the small Urca beach were the IED (Istituto Europeo di Design) has its school. The menu has nice salads and some very good meat, chicken, fish and pasta dishes. The desserts are generous and also very good. My favorite is the boar french rack and for desert the Seattle pie.

The rumpsteak and the ravioli were fantastic.

Excellent restaurant, good quality food with good service and nice friendly hosts. Will go back for sure. Highly recommend the Apple pie.

We spent a week in Brazil and ate here on our last day. After trying over 10 Caparinha cocktails throughout Rio, Julius served the best by far. The ratios of lime and sugar made the drink taste as if we peeled it off the page of a recipe book. It was mixed so well that you'd think it was made in an industrial plant, yet it was crafted by their expert bartender. Their cuisine more than satisfied a 5 star experience. I would recommend you eat here for lunch and enjoy a lunch special. From the moment you sit down till the moment you leave, you will feel comfortable and complete.

This is a fabulous place! The food was wonderful. The space is charming. The service impeccable. And the owner is incredibly nice. It has the feeling of a French Brasserie and the food feels like a fusion of French & Brazilian. We particularly enjoyed the trio of tapenades and the chimichurri steak. LOVED that I asked for the steak medium rare and it actually came out medium rare...that hardly ever happens! HIGHLY recommend! I particularly recommend it before or after Sugarloaf if you're headed there.

A pleasant surprise a stone's throw from busy Urca beach. This Dutch inspired brasserie offers good and creative dishes in a sleek/minimalistic set up.

An excellent stop in Urca, food and drink selection is perfect and very English friendly.

This is a very nice bistro with a very interesting variety of dishes. All of them are very tasty and some present exotic meats and ingredients. The owner is always there to make suggestions and their risoto is very good.

This is one of the best restaurants in Rio. Everything is so good and so well prepared, you will have to go several times to taste it all. The quality of the food is constant, the wine list is small but precise, drinks are really good, the waiters are very well trained, and the owner is always present. Save room for dessert - they are amazing!
