Best breakfast in the Foley/Fair hope area. The best breakfast I've had on our trip to the area. Excellent service and the best food. Try the Sampler platter to get some of all of it. It's possible to sub biscuits and gravy for the pancakes. Best homemade biscuits.

Delicious breakfast here today. Excellent, friendly and accommodating service too! Only comment is I’m not for certain the chicken fried steak is hand battered in house. I’ve had Sysco chicken fried steak and tasted very similar. However, it was good ((not great though). The gravy was good, eggs poached just the way I like them and good creamy grits. Husband very satisfied with his meal and said the pancakes were very good. Will definitely return on our next trip from Florida to Texas!

Google
The oldest restaurant in Baldwin County! Julwins is a wonderful breakfast/lunch joint. We have only been for breakfast and we love the French toast and pancakes. Their prices are great and the service is pretty fast. There's usually a wait on the weekends, but it's always worth waiting for.

Bob Walters

Google
The Meat Lovers Omelette and Cheesesteak and Hash are amazing, we've never had a bad experience at Julwin's. Every time we go to Gulf Shores we stop for breakfast... this last trip we stop on our back to Tennessee as well. If you're passing through, or are in the area, stop in.

Google
Fairhope really has a slice of NOLA's french quarter, and it can be found in Julwin's Shrimp and Grits! The wait was not bad and our waitress was very friendly. We have been to NOLA twice and these were the best shrimp and grits I have ever had. My wife enjoyed the spinach omelette and the kids crushed the chocolate chip pancake bears. Only complaint for atmosphere was the booth we were seated at slants down on one side so my kid was leaning against me as she ate. We were briefed about it before sitting, but if you know its a problem, stick a wooden plank under one side. If we find ourselves back in town, this will be a mandatory stop.

Google
Good food, good service, nice and clean restaurant. Prices are a tad high but that's everywhere down here. Would come back.

Google
One of fairhope's oldest eating establishments. Definitely worth stopping in to see why it has stood the test of time. Great food. Excellent service. Atmosphere is peaceful. If you leave here hungry. It's your own fault

Google
There was a short wait, but it was worth it.. I had the brown bag smash burger.. it was nice and peppery.. very, very good.... everything else looked good also..

Yelp
The place the Locals eat at!!!! Real home made from scratch food!! Cooked to perfection with lots of flavor. Huge selection fresh berries can be added on French toast or Pancakes, seafood omelets Egg white specials!!! Great find in town

Yelp
Needed some breakfast and Julwin's didn't disappoint just walking in was greeted supper fast and everyone was friendly. Seated in less than 5 min on a Sunday morning not to bad! Got Coffee and 50/50 Sweet Tea and both were great the coffee was not weak like most places. My wife always a Biscuits and Gravy fan had to try them and compare to her favorites (Waffle House) and she enjoyed Julwin's the biscuits were soft and the gravy tasty she said, maybe a little more spice (pepper). She also ordered the pancakes and they were very good l, great flavor and fluffy. I had the Chicken Fried Steak and it was fork cut good! Gravy needed some pepper but meat was super flavorful. The hashbrowns were crunchy and good as well. Will return!!

Yelp
Great brunch option if you are visiting Fairhope! We went on a Saturday mid morning and had about a 20 minute wait. We ended up walking around at one of the nearby stores which was fun. The food was season well! I loved the shrimp and grits. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Will definitely be back!

Rachel F.

Yelp
the food and service were both amazing ! on top of that, the sweetest couple noticed my "bride" hat and generously paid for my fiancé's and my meal. their kindness truly brought me to tears--as i'm not used to gestures like that. such a heartwarming experience !

Jim M.

Yelp
Local restaurant with great food! A delicious choice for breakfast and lunch. The staff is always so good and attentive.

Brad H.

Yelp
Great cozy feel with great service and amazing food! Even on a Sunday morning after church the wait wasn't very long. The food tasted incredible and didn't take long after ordering.

John W.

Yelp
This is a lovely spot with a nice interior. It's on the upscale side of breakfast spots, which I tend to avoid, but my Dad recommended it. No complaints. The Pelican's Nest was a much-improved version of a common weekend serving my mom would do when I was a kid. These guys use two thick slices of Texas toast instead of white wonder bread, which is a nice improvement.

Sherry F.

Yelp
Amazing food! Way more than I could eat so go hungry! Wait staff are very friendly and attentive. I may never cook breakfast again!

Gary H.

Yelp
1. Hash, scrambled egg, Hash Browns 2. Poached eggs, English muffin, Cheese sauce Highly recommended

Greg B.

Yelp
Great service breakfast was very good would recommend for a good America breakfast. Typical breakfast diner setting

Ken H.

Yelp
This place was the perfect homemade breakfast. All fresh. The grits were amazing. Biscuits are fantastic. The service was lightning quick. I couldn't have asked for more. I'll visit again!

Nora G.

Yelp
This restaurant is authentic everything is made from scratch and it's so delish. When we come into town we pass by to eat. French toast is delish the pancakes are delish the pork chops with mashed potatoes are the best I have ever had. There is a reason this is the oldest restaurant in town. Biscuits are the biggest and the most soft and melt in your mouth.

Jay W.

Yelp
My wife and I went here on a Friday morning around 10:00. It was amazing! The place was relatively full... we sat in a booth, all of which were full. It was nice to see all the waitstaff backing each other up and helping look out for each other's customers. I got the Pancake Breakfast. I had planned on eating only half the Pancakes (and having leftovers) but they were so delicious I ate both... probably some of the best Pancakes I've ever had! My Wife got the Fish Tacos and, although they weren't quite to the Pancake level, she enjoyed them... she found the sauce a little salty for her taste and also had no leftovers. Overall a very nice experience and now we have our go-to breakfast place in downtown Fairhope!

Bart J.

Yelp
If you want breakfast like mom used to make pay a visit here and get your faves served up hot and yummy. My ham and cheese omelette with grits delivered and came with a nice hot biscuit too. Thanks mom.....I mean Julwins.

Tory J.

Yelp
Best service. The best breakfast out, I think I have had. Everytime we travel to Fairhope from out of state we have to eat here. If you get the sampler it let's you try most of their breakfast items. Best bacon, sausage biscuits and gravy. Truly home made biscuits.

Kristina T.

Yelp
The shrimp and grits breakfast was one of the best things I've ever eaten. Great biscuits and greens too! The service was excellent, our waitress made our dining experience with her kindness and hospitality! Definitely recommend this spot!

Julie L.

Yelp
Food was amazing! The biscuits and gravy were delicious! Biscuits were hot and fluffy smothered in sausage gravy! Heavenly!! Shrimp and grits were yummy and tasty! Service was excellent! Plenty of space to relax and take your time! I'm visiting from Seattle and will definitely be back on my next visit!!

Yelp
Looking for a great breakfast place, this is where to go! Crispy hash browns, fresh eggs, AMAZING biscuits, and a friendly and attentive staff. Let's just say we are there every week and I have never been disappointed or had a bad meal... and trust me, we have tried almost everything on their breakfast menu. Doesn't hurt that it's clean, comfortable and just a warm and inviting place.

JD J.

Yelp
Came before the brunch rush on a Sunday, and our breakfast was underwhelming. For starters, my coffee mug had a lipstick stain on it, and I know for a fact that I did not apply any on this specific day. I asked for my eggs to be cooked thoroughly with no runniness, and sadly, I was met with runny eggs. On top of that, we weren't given our toast for any of our plates. The not-so-flavorful icing on the cake was the fact that two meals and three coffees cost over $50. May just walk over to Another Broken Egg next time we're in the area

Larry N.

Yelp
Quiet comfortable hometown restaurant. Grits and eggs were great. Service was friendly and fast. Enjoyed this quiet place in downtown Fairhope.

Suzanne S.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast! Service was quick and efficient. Just the prefect place to choose for breakfast!

Larry F.

Yelp
Never visit the area without including a breakfast stop at Julwin's. Excellent menu choices to please everyone. Omelets are always my favorite and probably the best I've ever eaten

Sue N.

Yelp
I so wish I would have taken a picture of my food but I just loved it so much I had to dig in. The most memorable thing I had was their biscuits. OMG they melted in my mouth. Service was awesome and the place was so clean! I'll come back.

Loura H.

Yelp
best breakfast, the omelet, grits and toast are cooked perfectly! i highly recommend eating at this restaurant!!!!!!

Yelp
My wife and I came to Julwin's March 14 2024 at 9 am. As we entered we witnessed a nice young family with a toddler and an infant eating breakfast. The infant was in a high chair and the floor was a mess of course. The young woman stood started to clean the floor when the waiter said to her "I will clean it up you enjoy your family while you can " or something to that effect . I and my wife were so impressed with that young man the empathy and his companions for others were overwhelming to us. It was the kindest thing I have seen in years. The young man was 5'7 or so with facial hair. I have to say it took us by surprise. Not to mention the beakfast was terrific and the establishment was super clean. I visit fairhope frequently I have now found my favorite breakfast place Brian and Laura Cummings

Hank C.

Yelp
Had breakfast the saturday morning of the arts festival and they were very busy- food was fresh, hot and cooked perfectly. We waited for less than 10 minutes for a table and were served exactly 11 minutes after we ordered. I had pork chops (two large boneless chops) and could barely finish my meal with three eggs and hasbbrowns- My wife had biscuits and gravy and loved it. Service was great and friendly. Will return!!!

Ingrid U.

Yelp
Excellent service and food. Great breakfast spot! We were seated quickly. Waitress was very friendly, topped off waters and coffee regularly. Food was great! Would return and recommend!

Ethan J.

Yelp
Great food and really good service. The people were really nice and accommodating . Please consider this place.

Guillermo G.

Yelp
Right in the heart of downtown Fairhope. Great breakfast and lunch. Simple great southern food with great friendly people. A must go for breakfast.

Tom A.

Yelp
Good food, great service and an owner who really cares about the product and his customers.

Bonnie V.

Yelp
The food is always good and the staff is wonderful! Highly recommend for breakfast or lunch! We were a group of 7 and they were very happy to do 3 different checks.

Anita H.

Yelp
Wonderful restaurant! Breakfast available until 2:00. Terrific pancakes! Great service. Great prices on everything. If I lived here, this would be my regular restaurant!!

Paityn W.

Yelp
Ah, Julwins! What an amazing place to stop on a Sunday after church! With great service and amazing southern cooked breakfast, I have no complaints! The staff is sweet and quick and can accommodate most food needs! They have a little something for everyone here and the interior is just how you'd imagine a little hole in the wall breakfast spot, I don't think Julwins will ever stop being my favorite place for breakfast/brunch!

Dj D.

Yelp
This is a very cute diner in the town center of Fairhope! We had a party of 7 and were seated fairly quickly. The waitress was attentive. The food came out quickly and was delicious. I had the spinach omelet with feta and Swiss cheese, cheese grits, and half a short stack. Four of us had the shopping omelet. We all agreed it was delicious. Another person had the shrimp and grits. She said it was one of the best she'd had. She said the fried grit cake was what set it a part from others. We highly recommend it!

Sara B.

Yelp
Been in fairhope 4 days and this is the FIRST 5 star rating I have reviewed. Excellent breakfast and - NO JOKE - the BEST BISCUIT I HAVE EVER HAD in my 63+ years of tasting biscuits. SERIOUSLY. The entire meal was excellent: eggs, bacon, hash browns. my husband had the meat lover's omelet and he said his was excellent as well. The server Briley was quick and attentive and she was in training!!! I highly recommend this place.

Theresa M.

Yelp
Great place for early breakfast! Open at 6:30 AM on weekdays. Service is always great and prompt.

Cassandra W.

Yelp
The food was delicious, eggs cooked just right, the grits were the perfect consistency not to thick and not too runny. The coffee was good also. My fiancé had the shrimp and grits superb. Let's not forget about our waiter Austin perfect in every way. He was so attentive but not over barren, and he worked with another gentleman. They handled that entire restaurant like it was nothing. I did not hear one complain. I appreciate the service and the food. Great food and great customer service is hard to find in this day and age. I will be returning.

Robert W.

Yelp
Great food and service with a smile! We almost always visit Julwins when we stay in Fairhope. This is one of our favorite places to eat at, they do a great job seeing your satisfied.

Annie B.

Yelp
If you haven't tried the fried viper grits with shrimp & andouille sausage you are missing an incredible dish!

Adrian T.

Yelp
Great food and service! We came here from another town on the recommendation of a friend! He was right and our breakfast was delicious! We enjoyed traditional breakfast food with a flair! The server was kind and fastidious! We will be back!

Savour A.

Yelp
It was too early for lunch, and we had heard such wonderful things about the restaurant Julwin's, so we wanted to stop by for breakfast to see what was going on there. It was a cozy restaurant decorated for Mardi Gras. They had a Mardi Gras tree in the window and a welcome sign on the wall. We did feel welcome as we were greeted as soon as we stepped through the door. Delighted, in fact. And even though they get a lot of word of mouth about their breakfast, they do actually serve lunch. But today was going to be a breakfast day for us. After all, we had a lot of work to do on our blog. Marty and I both eyeballed the same dish. The Spinach Omelet with roasted garlic, fresh spinach, onions, mushrooms, and cheese. You can choose Swiss, Feta, or Goat cheese. We both went for the Feta. Our favorite!..........https://savouralifewelllived.com/julwins-restaurant/

Wanda A.

Yelp
Amazing food and better service. What else do you want? I had the seafood omelet - it was cooked to perfection. Hubby had the breakfast bowl. Perfect

Susan V.

Yelp
Yummy food, great service and cute decor. My daughter moved to Fairhope and after dropping something off at her house we wanted to explore downtown Fairhope. Julwin's did not disappoint. I had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and my husband had the corned beef hash bowl; both delicious. I do recommend and the town is so cute as well.

Patriciz L.

Yelp
We had breakfast. Everything was good. Missed having my eggs cooked in butter. No flavor just cooked well. Cute place

Shane K.

Yelp
Tried to eat at Julwin and the the server, hostess was too busy on her phone to acknowledge us. When we asked she said the wait would be an hour or more. The wait is fine, but if we are the only ones waiting, don't wait 10+ minutes to acknowledge us to tell us there is a long wait

MeShawn D.

Yelp
Want sure at first, because the Host seemed to be having a bad day. Our server and the great food luckily made up for his sour puss. Would definitely go back. It was a cute place, much larger than it seemed from outside. The scrambled eggs,, French toast and other breakfast foods were delicious.

Jessie K.

Yelp
On our way back from Gulf Shores to Louisiana, we took the scenic Hwy and came across this gem! First of all, loved the town of Fairhope. Felt like I was in a Hallmark movie. It was Sunday so most stores were closed. A few other restaurants are in the area as well. We stopped at Julwin's based on other Yelpers info. Staff was super friendly despite it being busy. We waited the time stated (around 20 min) and once seated, were tended to quickly. Food was delicious and I loved the decor of the place! I vote this as a must-stop if driving through Fairhope!

Rhonda W.

Yelp
Come on y'all. Julwins is on the struggle bus for real. Zero help. Long waits. Kitchen is backed up and food brought out is cold. This is a Fairhope staple and sadly going downhill. The staff argue with each other in front of you and you can see they are stretched thin. Julwins I won't be back until you can get it together. Legit. Unfortunately you'll have to succumb to limited hours with being short staffed or give away free food because of unsatisfactory practices. Either way this is unacceptable.

Hannah M.

Yelp
The spinach omelette was amazing. The food and service were top notch. I was thoroughly impressed. The coffee never got low and my spirit didn't either. I really like this place a lot.
