Creative Asian dishes in a funky & casual environment… plant based dishes have never tasted as good! Fabulous flavour combinations and a great variety of dishes on offer for both vegans and vegetarians. If you are vegetarian the Mayak soft boiled eggs are a must. Great service and excellent value for money make this a must visit place. Note: City Centre restaurant is closed on Sundays. Jumon East restaurant is closed Sunday, Monday & Tuesday. If you like and appreciate this review please give it a like or a thumbs up so that I know what content to include in future reviews.

Excellent vegetarian food in a lively part of Belfast city centre. Unfortunately, the waiting staff deflate the experience hugely… badgering us every two minutes until we were ready to order… then we waited an hour for the food to arrive; when we asked why we were told flatly that “it will come out when it’s ready”. The same waitress then returned with her manager and her tail between her legs five minutes later to confess that “we didn’t put it through on the computer properly so it’s not been ordered”. Best vegetarian food I’ve ever had, the chefs are magic. The surly waiting staff let the place down. A smile (god forbid) and a bit of craic go a long way…

We didn’t realize that it was a vegetarian restaurant until we saw the menu. It was worth a try though. We appreciated the starters more than the mains. The place was packed when we got there. It’s recommended to make a reservation. You may have to wait for a few minutes before you get seated. The food was good overall but we don’t think vegetarian is for us. Give them a try ✌🏼

Lovely meal with plenty of vegan options. Would definitely recommend. All the dishes I saw looked amazing and I couldn't decide what to have! I also had a cocktail which was lovely. All the waiters were friendly and loved the interior. Would go back if I visit Belfast again soon.

Overall a mostly disappointing (and expensive) experience despite good hype. Arrived a few minutes early and got quite briskly told that they were not open but when we returned there were already customers sitting inside that had probably arrived mere minutes earlier. The menu reads excellent but for the “big” and dessert did not quite reach my expectations. The Korean fried broccoli was lovely and kimchi really nice. The curry I had just felt like it was all cooked individually and plated up. An unnecessarily large amount of brown (nice change from usual white) rice and not the flavours I was expecting from what the menu said. For what was on the plate and the price, it was extremely expensive. The dessert was extremely underwhelming. The plating was fine and the chocolate mousse was lovely but the tiniest three pieces of brownie that I felt were like mass produced just felt stingy. From the menu, I would have thought brownie (see all my brownie reviews) would have been a bit more generous for it. Raspberry sorbet could not be switched out to vanilla ice cream as it was all “pre-made” (🚩) and tasted quite artificial to me. Service was OK, as was atmosphere. Table was on the wobbly side and the chopsticks showed obvious signs of wear. Gratuity was automatically added on which I don’t remember seeing advised either on website, upon booking, or on the menu, but happy to be corrected but don’t think it was a tippable experience. So can’t quite recommend and won’t be rushing back sadly, though it is clearly a popular spot!

Really tasty food even and drinks. We got the Ramen, the Dandan, a ginger beer and a cucumber ginger beer. The ginger beers were super delicious, the best I've ever had. Then the food was super flavourful and delicious. Will definitely be back to try more from the menu

Great to go somewhere with so many vegetarian dishes. Korean fried broccoli and the cauliflower were delicious. The marinated egg (side dish) was so tasty. To me, the spice bag did not taste like a spice bag and was a bit disappointing. Otherwise everything was delicious including the cocktails!

An all round excellent experience. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was great. I had the Jumon Ramen, which was slightly spicy and delicious, the portion was large. I really liked the crispy kale and the egg. The Jumon Dandan was really tasty, also slightly spicy, which we loved (this is a very oily dish). The music was nice, at a good volume. We enjoyed the art and the decor. Highly recommend!

Yelp
One of a kind all vegan Asian fusion locals place Wait staff were wonderful and even though we are from States made us feel like a regular The manager at Home Restaurant & the owner at Establishment Coffee both tutned us on to this gem All plant based and truly a unique must do foodie experience in Belfast Don't be put off by crowd from Voodo bar that almost blocks front door Hard to believe there is really nothing like this any where we have traveled even in the art district in LA

Yelp
There's a really nice vibe to Jumon, with beautiful oriental art aplenty. Loved that when we arrived there was a cute little pug charming visitors, sadly she didn't stay long and was soon whisked away by her owner. We were offered complimentary herbal tea which was topped up throughout our meal - a lovely touch. Food was really good, but I personally found everything over spiced to the point were it was difficult to enjoy underlying flavours. After a while all I could taste was numbing heat. It would be great if they could indicate heat/ spice levels on the menu. Given that Jumon is a vegetarian restaurant, I also expected more vegan options. We ordered a sharing starter called Nem but sadly it wasn't available. When the waitress came to our table to let us know this, she didn't seem to understand when we asked if the Chef could veganise another sharing plate - instead she just blankly pointed to the KMP, a small vegan starter. We gave up trying and ordered that. Not sure if this was a failing on behalf of Chef or Waitress, but surely any decent vegetarian restaurant should be able to veganise a few more dishes on request. Anyhow, Jumon was a good experience overall - prices are reasonable, portions generous and it's currently unique on the Belfast food scene. So I will return to give it another go and I definitely recommend Jumon to others, especially fans of very spicy food.
