Best place to visit while in interlaken, use swiss half fare for 50% discount, nice view from all the 3 locations. Went during January season, not many people and not crowded. We had one big gondola for our family of 6.

Beautiful place, the best to explore in Switzerland—from the stunning Alps mountains to the picturesque train rides, everything feels serene. However, be mindful of the elevation; it can cause shortness of breath and altitude sickness for some.

5 Stars Jungfrau is absolutely breathtaking! The views of the Swiss Alps are stunning, and the journey to the top via the Jungfraujoch is an unforgettable experience. The snow-covered peaks, glaciers, and panoramic vistas make it feel like you're on top of the world. There’s plenty to do, from visiting the Ice Palace to enjoying Swiss delicacies at the restaurants. It’s well-organized, and the staff is friendly and helpful. A must-visit destination for nature lovers and adventurers alike. Worth every penny!

Amazing train ride up and then cable car back down. The views were awesome. would definitely recommend to other tourists.

Visiting the Top of Europe at Jungfraujoch was an amazing experience. The views were breathtaking, and it truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. However, some people in our group did feel unwell because of the high altitude. They experienced headaches and dizziness, but taking things slowly and staying hydrated helped. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable adventure!!!!!

Google
This is a bucket list sort of thing to do so even though it’s super expensive (221 francs each!) we really enjoyed it. The views are incredible and there are little black birds at the top that will eat out of your hand! The ice tunnel was really good. We took the Gondola (cable car) up and the train back. If I did it again though I’d do the cable car for both journeys, as the views being that high up are amazing and I wasn’t that taken with the cog train. We felt a bit of altitude sickness, mainly just dizzy and struggled for breath but it passes quite quickly. You just have to take your time a bit. It gets quite busy at the top and we went in mid October towards the end of season. Was a great experience but in my opinion vastly overpriced, 100 francs would be a fairer price. Even with various travel cards you only get 50 to 80 francs off.

Google
Breathtaking views, a unique experience which has now been ticked off my bucket list. Was very lucky to have good weather on our side so views were incredible with bright skies and sunshine. The gondola ride up to the train was spectacular with panoramic views of the journey.

Not to be missed this wonderful experience even though most tour operators keep it in the optional list as some of the group may find it difficult to bear the burnt of low oxygen level at 3463m. Most people can withstand it unless they have a major heart or lungs problem. Called the top of Europe for commercial purposes as the highest railway station is situated there, though not actually the highest point in Europe. But the views going up or coming down are breathtaking, so also to some extent while on the top. The city at the base, Grindelwald, also seems to be out of the fairy tales book

Yelp
Spectacular views all around at Jungfraujoch! You can reach the top either by train from Kleine Scheidegg or the Eiger Express gondola ride from Grindelwald Terminal. We took the scenic train ride to the top and gondola on the way down and we're completely mesmerized by the stunning mountain scenery. Jungfraujoch has a lot of activities to offer, including tubing, snow sledding, walk through ice palace, i.e. literally walking on ice surrounded by ice sculptures created by talented artists, as well as a restaurant. The restaurant was one of my favorite dining places in 2024 so far! We enjoyed fondue and hot chocolate with panaromic views of the Swiss Alps in the background. The prices are fair, especially when you're dining at the Top of Europe!

Yelp
I didn't know of Jungfrau till Mink mentioned it to me. It's also known as Jungfraujoch and it's the Top of Europe (first climbed in 1811). She said it's been a place she's always wanted to visit so we made sure to visit when we were in Europe. It was a journey to get there but it was a thousand percent worth it. On the way there we saw lakes, rivers, mountains and gorgeous fields. One really cannot describe the beauty of Switzerland. Photos and videos don't do it justice. You really have to see it with your own eyes. Also, be prepared to feel it in your wallet. When we finally arrived, we were a little sad to see the weather was not ideal. It was like a blizzard up in Jungfrau. Our itinerary only allowed that one day to visit so we couldn't go on a day with better weather. Something you might want to account for when booking your trip. Mountain weather is sometimes unpredictable. Bringing an umbrella just in case could be helpful as we were glad we did. It is recommended to go on the first train up at 9am as it does get crowded later in the day with tour groups and other visitors. We did get to enjoy the visitor center as no one was allowed outside due to safety reasons. Unfortunately, the UNESCO World Heritage Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch was also closed. If you visit and the weather is nice, sit on the right side of the train to Jungfrau. You'll get much better photos. Also, make sure to get off at the 5 minute stop in Eismeer Station for a quick view and photo. Just make sure to jump back on before the train leaves. 5 minutes is plenty of time. It's sad that we couldn't see anything due to the blizzard type weather but I would imagine it being breathtaking. We are still glad we had the opportunity to visit Jungfrau and definitely recommend it.

Yelp
Such an amazing experience I highly recommend! We started off using the skyline that takes you up the mountains with breathtaking views... we lucked out with a clear sunny day. There a few different levels of viewing once you get to the top. The very top is super windy, the skyline view... a smaller platform with great photo opportunities... we took a great group photo. My favorite level is where you have some outdoor activities like zip lining and an outdoor bar... I got a Bailey's and coffee.... Mmmm perfect for this weather! Back inside there are shops, great place for unique souvenirs. A chocolate store, Swiss knives and watches. A restaurant too. It's the views that are incredible, you really are on top of the world. Snow covered mountains. We took the train back down the mountains. Amazing day trip.

Tiffany D.

Yelp
Keeps me humble to be able to see this almighty snowy view from the top of Europe. It's so majestic and royal. Entertaining ride and tour truly. There's warm hot chocolate, food and restaurant once you're all done with the visit. Well worth a must visit. Swiss swish!

Yelp
What's not to like? Top of Europe - wonderful train ride , great photo opps. Would love to revisit.

Yelp
7/13/2024 - We had taken the train and the lift to our hotel to go see the 007 restaurant. Wonderful views. Clean and crisp air. No pollution. Beautiful mountain tops of the Swiss Alps. Plenty of shops to eat at up here. 5 stars. You need to take the train and the ride up to the top. Well worth it. Only thing that ruins the moment are smokers walking around complaining about the altitude and smelling the place up with cigarettes. One of my top 5 places I've been in the world!!!!

Andy E.

Yelp
The good: it's obviously beautiful. I mean all of Switzerland is of course. The gondola portion of going up/coming down is great. The rest? Meh. Total tourist trap and SUPER EXPENSIVE. Almost $300 US. There are some cool things but I didn't do my research ahead of time. I probably would have enjoyed it more had it but been so pricy AND packed with so many people. You rode up. Walked around. Maybe grab a bite. Ride down. I just think there are beer ways to spend your money especially because there are sooooo many cute little towns dotted around between there and Lucerne (which is where I was staying)

Justin H.

Yelp
Amazing place! Love it. If you are able to fit this into a trip, do it. Jungfraujoch is a complex located at the top of the Swiss Alps. Once there, you will find several overlook areas that allow views into vast glaciers and scenic vistas. There's also a scientific station and other cool sights. But, getting there is nearly as much fun. The trains and gondolas have breathtaking views and are super clean/efficient. If you go, definitely check out the ice palace and zip line. It's an experience. Also, I recommend buying food at the grocery store before boarding the first gondola. They have a good selection and it's much cheaper/easier to bring lunch.

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Very touristy, as expected, but still awesome to see. Make sure you do not book well in advance for this. The weather changes on a dime in the mountains and you do not want to spend the high admission prices to view fog. We carefully followed the weather forecast and booked the night before (crossing our fingers for the best). We got extremely lucky and had the most beautiful, clear, sunny day. If you're weather forecast isn't looking so great I'd suggest skipping this one. This trip is almost entirely about the views. We chose to take the Eiger Express up and the train back down to Grindelwald. The Eiger Express is a 15-20 minute gondola ride. Just note that the Eiger Express doesn't take you to the very top, you will get out and transfer to a train at Eigergletscher Station. I found this to be the best way to get to the top early before the afternoon crowds started showing up. The train ride down was incredibly scenic but double the time. Still worth taking the train at least one way. While the tickets were timed we found they didn't really adhere to the times at the station. We got on an earlier gondola ride up and when we were ready to leave we hopped on a train. The one thing we couldn't do was reverse the order. So if you book a train up and gondola down that's how you have to ride. Once you arrive at the Top Of Europe check out the maps to see where you want to go. You do not need to go in order and you definitely don't want to follow the crowd. Once the crowd from the train dispersed a bit it was much more enjoyable. We did not follow the crowd to the Sphinx lookout and instead went ahead to the ice palace and pretty much had it to ourselves. From there we went out to the glacier and eventually came to the lookout. We decided to get some food at one of the quick service restaurants here. It's cafeteria style, where you choose what's out and put it on your tray. There is also a sit down option. The food is extremely expensive and not great. If you can avoid it don't bother eating here. Either bring food or eat before or after. Your time here will be highly dependent on good weather and low crowds. Take the earliest possible time slot to go up and watch that forecast!

Yelp
This is a must do when in Switzerland!! During the winter time 11/29/2023 it's super cold at -21.2 degrees Celsius at the very top!! Yes that was a minus! We stayed in Interlaken East town and took the train up to Jungfraujoch. There we took the Eiger Express gondola for 6.4 miles up and up and up which was about 10-15 minutes or so. There are seat warmers for the gondolas but on the way up ours were not warm. On the way down it was nice and warm. For those with strollers there are gondolas that are equipped for more space. Once you get to the top there are viewings of the bitter cold and bright white snow mountains. Another part of the tour is the ice caves with several ice carvings (like the Lang Lang playing the piano or the year of the rabbit), the top with the Switzerland flag - which was super super cold, the Crystal restaurant and the Lindt chocolate shop. Unfortunately I didn't get a pic of myself at the top with the Switzerland flag so that means I'll have to go again!

Yelp
Outstanding. Swiss, our exceptional people very capable people and only they could've designed mathematically and engineered with such precision executed with excellence a train that can take you to the top of the top. The ride wind you around some of the most gorgeous scenery past neighboring homes on hillside with peaks in the foreground. The last train is zipper train as you ascend. there's a steely coolness. There's a reverency, there's an awe. There's a thinness in the spirit world as you ascend. Quiet yourself to hear it like a beat of a drum. and probably you'll spell out onto app platform and then enter the complex which is like a chalet that's been plopped on top of a mountain with a giant patio deck looking out over the world. Inside is a multi storage experience of sight and sound and opportunities to get a snack some cool historical documentations about how the site came to be and then the view from inside is breathtaking full of snow in a diamond like sparkle. you're above the clouds and at times it will be hard to see out. so you might venture out to the deck and to the hills here at the top. there is thin so be mindful of alpine sickness. even at this altitude, there are spectacular birds that will come over to roost on the railing. They're quite quizzical and they fly over all the way to Asia and back. there's a sign on the deck Korean soap opera that was filmed here. Is a shameless plug. It's a really adorable show. I came to say goodbye and I quiet prayer. I was told the spot there's an thinness that the Irish writers talked about where you feel so close to heaven and there's certain places around the world that exude this phenomena or synergy her to tell you they were right. so if you come to this place know that you're seeing a mathematical phenomenon engineering marvel in the Heights of Swiss can manifest. But you're also almost staring, face-to-face with the Almighty and the glorious creation of the Alps. Many have died many risked life and limb to create where you're standing so take a moment to bow your head for them. Several months out I have a deep appreciation done. if I had wings, I would fly here but luckily we just have to take the train. the sunshine on the way down after the summit is the most spectacular trip we will see chalets, verdant spectacular color and the occasional snow shed the tree needs to duck into. The Swiss of thought of everything thanks be to God.

Yelp
If you're traveling from Lucerne and debating if the view is worth the travel if 4+ hours... I would say yes!! It was breathtaking (not because it was cold), but the views!! Once you get here, you really will spend a good 1.5-2 hours exploring. They have a small cafe and some restaurants for you to enjoy as well while you warm up. (The food is a little pricey as expected.) They have a "tour" that takes you to the different pockets of the place. We had fun at the ice palace and of course the Swiss Flag at the end! We decided to take the Eiger express up and the train down to see the views from both sides. I felt like it was worth the premium to ride the Eiger express as it brings you up quickly and the views from it is amazing. Different movies have used this scene before, but the most famous one recently was crash landing on you. There's even a sign for people to take photos with. I was warned to check the weather first! Even though this place is open year round, a bad weather might make it challenging to get some good views. So probably check it before purchasing some tickets as it is a bit of an investment. Overall, I had a great experience and definitely a once in a lifetime adventure! Hopefully you'll enjoy just as well!

Robert S.

Yelp
I bought 3 tickets 4months before my trip spending almost 800 US dollars. Two months before the trip I herniated disc in my back playing tennis and asked for refund. They refused to help even though according to information I got from the website it is not easy to get tickets in the summer and they encourage buying them in advance. Please do not buy tickets in advance. You will loose your money.

Yelp
I 10000% recommend this place, despite it being a touristy destination. I didn't anticipate to enjoy it this much but I did! Not knowing much about this place I though that there weren't much to see besides the mountain peaks, and I was surprised to find so many other attractions within this attraction! Obviously the peak of the Jungfrau is a must see and is the best! But did you know that there are "mazes" that leads you to different areas such as an ice cave? Yeah I didn't know that. My husband's friend visited here a couple of months before us and he only stayed for an hour so that's what I expected. We however, ended up staying for much longer than that, 3-4 hours if I recall. The cable car ride alone was already breathtaking but when you get to the top and go outside, it's like being in a movie set. The settings and backdrops are unbelievably stunning! Also, they have Shin-ramen cups! For about $8USD though but it was worth it after being out the in cold. Oh yeah... a very popular K-Drama, Crash Landing Onto You was filmed here. I don't know about it but apparently all of my friends and family does and they're very jealous I got to visit here.

Eric m.

Yelp
Total tourist trap and a huge waste of money. Came here for the hike and found out that it was closed. Hard pass.

Xiaojian D.

Yelp
A bit pricy and overrated but still a must see if you've never been here.. Note that the tickets were 95 CHF each way as of this writing and it doesn't include the reservations which give you priority boarding at a particular time slot. You can get a 25% discount off of the ticket (but not reservation) price with Swiss Travel Pass or 50% with a half fare card. The snow scenery was amazing even when the temperature of the place hasn't reached below freezing for days. I recommend the snow sport area, especially the sledging. I chickened out of the zip lining because I'm afraid of heights but you get multiple runs at sledging for 15 francs (the guy was nice enough to discount it to 10 francs because he was about to close and I was only able to go 4 times though still well worth the money.) There's also an ice cave similar to the one at Kleine Matterhorn with ice sculptures and stuff. It goes without saying but put on some sunscreen and be mindful of the elevation, esp if you're wearing a mask. There's a ton of slopes and stairs to climb and you definitely want to take it easy at this elevation. I also recommend packing some food as well since it can get crowded up here and you might not be able to get a table to eat at - this will also save you time to spend in the snow and mountains! I guess the only real bummer for me was the crowds but that might be because it was a great day. However, if you're tight on time and can't visit all the great mountains in Switzerland, I'd recommend Klein Matterhorn or Glacier 3000 over this one esp if you've already been here. I visited the other two on similar sunny days and the crowds were only a fraction of this one.

Matt P.

Yelp
Definitely a place you cannot miss if you are staying in the Interlaken area. You can purchase your train & entrance ticket at either Interlake OST or West stations. We had a Half Fare card so it cost us about $115 US dollars leaving from Interlaken West. The ticket will also include the train ride down from Jungfrau. Since we went up the Grindelwald way, we decided to come back down the other side of the mountain. I highly recommend coming back down this way. This will allow you to get off at Lauterbrennan to go to the waterfall cave if you want.

Yelp
We paid £75 per person to go to Jungfraujoch, which my family happily paid as we did this when I was a teen and had so much fun. I wish we hadn't wasted our money. We took my disabled step-father, and I have mobility and anxiety issues. The train which has disabled access, was impossible without assistance or getting hurt, to disembark off of at Kline Schlidegg. The employees seemed annoyed that we hadn't purchased reserved seating at an extra £10 per person, even though we had purchased the tickets and the passes online and were never given the option of booking a time. Not that reservations seem to matter as they cram as many people in the trains to the top as possible. ( Employees did assist us onto this train.) At the top there was very little sensible signage anywhere. There was a crush of people waiting for lifts, which was craziness, no employees to make lines or help. This was compacted by being in a room with projections everywhere which was very dark and flashy ( glad I wasn't epileptic) Once we got on the lift it took us to the Sphinx (which is the viewing platform at the top.) No room and far too many people again, which made it very difficult with a wheelchair or walking sticks as people were pushing and squeezing into every available space. Not that they cared about anyone that may have difficulties. Mum and stepdad decided to go back down as it wasn't comfortable and horrid for them. They attempted to find the disabled toilets, which the employees who were asked had no clue where they were, and by the time they figured it out my Stepdad had, had an accident. They were then treated to the train/ Jungfrau employees screaming at people, and yet again packing as many people into the trains. We continued. The ice caves were lovely, but without a 'eurokey' (disability access key) there was no access to them. The stores which used to be open and easy to access are now crammed into corners, and random restaurants are taking all the space up. The snow fun area outside was better, but now has expensive sledding/tubing or zip lining (20-35chf) When we decided to go back down, the train employees, again treated us with contempt for not having 'reservations' even though our passes were for that day. To be honest the snow is fun, but the views were better in Mürren, and 75 pp is too much for next to nothing, getting yelled at, and dealing with rude people. I wrote an email to the Jungfrau-Bahn train company who said they would 'look into' the incident. I'll be honest, it's not good enough. Spend your money on better adventures in Switzerland, and forget Jungfraujoch. Jungfraujoch is Not suitable for most disabilities. If you have mobility issues, forget it. If you can't stand crowds, or have any fear of small places. Not for you. Don't even get me started on anxiety conditions.

Yelp
Was very lucky to have a nice crisp clear day to visit Jungfraujoch. I opted to visit this place on tour by Viator. This was the main attraction, and I was very glad I paid a little extra for the tour experience. This place can get jam packed with visitors, there is no real obvious laid out plan on how to see this place as there are tons of little nooks and cranny locations to visit. The views are a mix of spectacular and deathly terrifying if you just stare off into the distance of the Alps. I don't think i packed enough layers as it is obviously gets to be pretty cold up there. The food up in the observatory - option wise - is not the greatest. Unfortunately there are not too many options. There is a Lindt store, if you can make it past the lines, but there wasnt really much too special with the items for sale - better of waiting til youre in downtown Zurich. Overall a great place to visit - dress warm and in layers, perhaps bring an extra pair of socks, and take your time here.

Yelp
Located in the Bernese Alps, Jungfraujoch is 3,454 meters (11,352') above sea level. It is Europe's highest railway station and has Europe's highest altitude post office with its own zip code (3801). The top of Jungfrau is a world of never ending snow and ice. The Aletsch glacier at 23 kilometers is the longest Alpine glacier. Sister mountains, the Eiger (ogre) and Monch (monk) are adjacent to Jungfrau and are 3,967 meters and 4,107 meters tall. There are numerous ways to see this part of the Swiss Alps. No matter which way you chose, it will not be cheap nor fast. It cost me over $180 dollars just to get to the mountain top and over 2 hours on cog railways and trains starting in the town of Grindwald. The Aletsch glacier, Ice Palace, Sphinx and Plateau viewing platforms, and Alpine research exhibition center are some of the attractions. Jungfrau-Aletsch glacier has been a UNESCO world heritage site since 2001. The Bernese Alps region offers skiing, mountaineering, and tourist sightseeing. Trails for hiking are numerous and challenging. The Eiger trail has magnificent views of the north face of Mt. Eiger. If you want to experience the Swiss Alps, the Bernese Alps will deliver that experience in full but it will not be cheap, fast or easy.

Yelp
AMAZING PLACE. The train fare (180 swiss franc) for this journey was expensive but worth every penny for this journey. Being on top of Europe (Jungfraujoch) was one of the best experience in my lifetime. Coming here exceeded my outmost expectations of the place and the country itself. From the bottom of the mountain (Interlaken) all the way to the top has been a never ending surreal feeling. The views seen during the train ride were incredible. Pictures didn't justify how incredible the scenes were. The journey was worth the experience. The train ride to the top took us about 2 hours and we have changed 3-4 times train before we reached the top. There were so may things to do on top. The first thing we enjoyed was touching the Swiss flag and claiming we made it to an elevation that high. It is not that we haven't seen snow but the snow on the highest peak of Europe in our minds were different, gave a different touch to all who is visiting the place. We were lucky enough that during our visit, the sun was clear , was not windy and the temperature was not bad. We still needed jacket, gloves, hat and boots that kept us warm during the stay. Note for your future visit: 1. Exploring the ice cave need extra precautions - boots with good grip are better be worn. The ice sculptures are magnificently made. 2. The Lindt shop is a good stop especially if you feel dizzy because of the elevation effect to your body. 3. Historical information about the place will put you in awe. 4. Don't get frustrated if the photos you took of the mountain and snow doesn't look as majestic as in real view. 5. Make sure to take in food and bring beverages with you before climbing up, fast foods costly prices will shock you. 6. Enjoy the snow and do fun activity if you are up to it. 7. Bring the best camera for best memories. 8. Sunglasses helps avoid glare. A well recommended place to go when visiting Switzerland. I am willing to rate the place higher than 5 starts if I could.

Vanessa S.

Yelp
Absolutely a must but be very mindful of the weather forecasts because when I went up that day it was extremely cloudy so really couldn't see the views once at the top but on the ride to the top it was gorgeous! While it is not extremely cheap to come here, but the beautiful views on the cogwheel train ride up and being on top of a mountain, and inside of a glacier is 100% worth it! I took the best of Switzerland tour to come here since they handle all the logistics and tickets which made it just really stress free to enjoy this place!

Richa T.

Yelp
Pros: + Beautiful mountains - don't forget to bring the camera + Post office where you can send post cards from "the Top of Europe." Just be sure to bring the postcards Cons: - Pretty touristy - Limited food options at the top - Overpriced - Not included with the Swiss travel pass - you'll need to get another ticket (super pricey yes)

Yelp
The 1st time I heard about Jungfraujoch was during TODAY's show "Where in the World is Matt Lauer?" segment. After watching that segment, I knew that I definitely have to come here one day and I did back in October 2016. The price is NOT cheap going to Jungfraujoch. It was 133 CHF with Swiss PASS discount. But, it was definitely a once in a lifetime experience. It's about a 2 hour train ride going all the way to the top. We first took the train to Interlaken Ost station. Then, we took the train from "Lauterbrunnen" side going up and took the train back down from "Grindelwald" side. I remember that you see a nice view of Swiss homes on the Grindelwald side. We explored the area for about 2 hours and there are a few things to see here. I recommend going to the Sphinx section, Eispalast section (Ice cave / ice sculptures), Plateau section (You can take a pic with the Swiss flag), and Lindt Swiss Chocolate Heaven (Brief history of Lindt chocolate and they sell Lindt chocolates too). I also recommend to bundle up since it's very cold when you visit ice cave and outside in the snow. You should also bring your sunglasses too since the sun rays are very intense. There's a restaurant on site and I just bought a sandwich to eat for 7 CHF. They also have a souvenir shop but the gifts are quite expensive. I also found the souvenir coin machines and it costs 2.20 CHF to get a souvenir coin. If you are visiting Switzerland, then Jungfraujoch should be on your list too. Also, check the weather before you come. You have to come here on a beautiful clear day.

Yelp
At 3,454 m above sea level, Jungfraujoch is a well-known saddle in the Bernese Alps. The Jungfraujoch railway has been in operation since 1912 and is the highest railway station in all of Europe. Typically to get here, one takes the Bernese Oberland Railway from the Interlaken Ost station to either Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald (I took the one going towards Lauterbrunnen). Then, one needs to change to the Wengernalp railway (generally yellow and green trains) to go to Kleine Scheidegg. From Kleine Scheidegg, one changes to the Jungfrau Railway (red train) to go to the top. The entire trip takes about two hours, so plan accordingly. If you have a Swiss travel pass, it will NOT get you all the way to Jungfraujoch. You still need to purchase an additional ticket; however, a Swiss travel pass will give you a discount. I paid $138.46 for my ticket. Pricey for sure, but a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The train ride itself is an adventure - such beautiful views! There are two stops made on the way to the summit, and you can get off at either stop to admire the scenery. I would advise giving yourself a couple of days in the Bernese Oberland area if you're keen on getting a cloudless view of the Bernese Oberland and the Swiss Plateau. My friend and I were staying in Interlaken for 4 days, and only one of the four days was a sunny, cloudless day. We quickly took advantage and went very early in the morning. By the time we reached Jungfraujoch, it was roughly 9:30am. By the time we decided to descend at around 11:30am, the place was packed. Aside from admiring all the icy peaks at the Sphinx Observation Deck, there are several other attractions at the top. The Ice Palace, Alpine Sensation, even the Lindt chocolate shop. Other recommendations: bring sunglasses and food/water! And enjoy the views!

Yelp
We spent arountd $500 to see nothing!!! We were encouraged to buy a 3 day pass and Jungfrau ticket on days that were too cloudy. Their staff knew the weather there was bad yet encouraged us to go anyway and the "it would clear up.", they said. We had 50 feet of visibility. The staff was dismissive and indifferent towards us when rerequested to go another day. We were told to email the orgiazation, so we did, but they didn't care either. Even though their staff recomended that we buy the tickets on that day and there was plenty of room for a second look in June, they didn't care. They had our money and didn't care about our experiense. shamefull customer service!!! THIS IS NOTHING BUT A POORLY RUN TOURIST TRAP RIPP-OFF!!!

Yelp
If I had died and gone to heaven, I would think heaven looks something like Jungfrau! During my Europe trip back in October, Jungfraujoch was definitely one of my favorite spots! It was the most majestic and gorgeous place we stopped at, and I would highly recommend paying a visit. The ticket price for the train ride up the mountain isn't cheap but very well worth every penny. It cost around $160US for the two hour roundtrip train ride, and it ascends at a slow pace up the mountain with several stops along the way. Get your cameras ready because you will get a nice glimpse of the scenic valley and landscape during the ride. Once you get to the top of Europe, there's historical exhibits about Jungfrau, ice sculptures, and various observation towers for you to enjoy the scenic snow covered landscape above the clouds. There's even a Lindt chocolate shop which I highly recommend to stop at and stock up on goodies, since their prices there are much cheaper than the surrounding stores in town. Tips* -Bring jackets, gloves, hats, scarves! Its absolutely freezing once you get to the top! -Bring sunglasses! The sun reflects off the snow covered mountains and makes it really difficult to see. -Bring food and water. They charge $8 for instant noodles which is a complete rip off! -Selfie sticks will definitely help you save time from asking random strangers to help take your picture. Trust me you will want to take MANY pictures here! The landscape is surreal!

Yelp
We visited in October and sadly did not have a clear day here, but it was still fun and exciting because it was snowing. If at all possible, try to go on a day that is forecast to be clear. This place is VERY touristy and VERY crowded, so know that before you go. The train ride up to the Top of Europe was amazing. We enjoyed the stop in the tunnel. Pre-booking your reservation online will get you through the line in Kleine Scheidegg and when leaving the top much faster. We had already purchased the Jungfrau train pass so our train tickets had a considerable discount. We enjoyed the Lindt store at the Top of Europe. You can get a souvenir passport book for free from the train station counter and they have a passport stamp in the front mainly lobby area near the train.

Yelp
TOP OF EUROPE is right! We felt like we were above the clouds! The place is gorgeous and so many things to see! We got there on the first train (which is cheaper if you go on the first or last train up) and we ended up spending 4 hours here. Taking in the scenes, enjoying the ice palace, shopping, shopping for chocolates and eating swiss cheese fondue...all in the same place. This place is beautiful and one of the things my husband's been wanting to do for years so it was great to finally get to do it. This place is just stunning! If you're in Switzerland, it's a must-stop in!

Yelp
I went backpacking throughout Europe and decided to do a pit stop in Grindewald. I went to this tour without knowing what I was getting myself into. It was amazing. It was the highlight of my trip. The ride up on the train was an interesting experience. As we were going up it started to snow, which made the experience much more magical. As you reach the top you get to walk through an ice cave with some ice sculptures as decorative. Making it to the top, you will have to walk some stairs that will lead you to the exterior. Make sure you are fully covered because it is cold up there. Switzerland is beautiful. But this place is the cherry on top.

Yelp
Do not purchase ahead of time and online, you will not get a refund if they close the whole area. We were planning to go for one day. Our itinerary was set. It was windy and snowy on the day we planned to go there so they closed the whole area. Since we paid for 3 days including the entrance to the top of europe(planned to use the 2nd day transportation to Grindelwald area and there's no 2day pass), we aren't able to use it. They do not refund at the desk since it was bought online. I emailed the contact email that they gave me and they refused the partial refund and said the next few days they were opened. Are you kidding me? We have an itinerary and can't stay and wait for the weather to be great. They are a scam. I had fun with Schiltorn. My sister was able to go the next day and said it was boring. We don't need to see Lindt store by paying humungous price. I said go to Mürren area and Schiltorn. Way better!

Yelp
I want to go back. This place is incredible. Breathtaking! 2 look out point stops on the way up and when you're up there, there are various places to look out and activities. You can go sledding, tubing, skiing, go for a tour, hike and there's a snack bar. Photos do NOT do this place justice. You HAVE to see it for yourself. It's a photographer's dream.

Yelp
The highest and the most magical! Yep. This place take home the prizes for both. At at bargain price of 205 euros per person, experiencing it is definitely not cheap. But was it worth it? Every euro! And that two and half hour train ride? Definitely worth it too. Highest place is europe journey is like straight out of a movie. I'm currently staying in a beautiful Interlaken west. Took a train from here to the east, Gringewald and so on. Total of 3 train changes, most of which were pleasant enough to find a seat in. And the views? Just out of this world. Absolutely breathtaking, amazing, mind blowing and then some! The top tours!! Your fin train change before reaching here should give you the views of a lifetime. And two view point stops. Trains can be crammed regardless. Do sit on the right side of the train. Don't bring food! Be nice to others! And if you bring strollers, park it well! Once you reach, you'll see three level of food and views. Self serve has typical Swedish eats with curry and pasta around 20 francs. Not cheap but could be worst. Below has cup o noodles for $9?!! This spot /mountain is very popular in Asia! They get a ton of chinese/Japanese visitors and this place does well. Bottom floor has indian buffet spot call Bollywood. You can get 4 items plus one meat curry for $42. Swiss prices! I had the Swiss food on the third floor ~ restaurant crystal! Mainly for the view. Amazing views!! Lindt chocolate heaven was a quick fun. Tour outside was amazing!! So bright!! So pretty! So cold!! Ice cave tour can be very slippery! And cold. But super neat to see. Walking on ice!! The highest part of all? That was easily the highest, scariest and coldest. Don't look down!! Snowfun require you to walk outside before tubing down that mountain! Wear proper shoes! And whatever you do, make sure you line up for the train down with enough time! My 4 pm train was beyond packed, even the isles were packed with no standing room. And it's a good 50 minutes down. You'll want to be sitting down after all the walking you've done. Over all, the highest place I've ever been to at 11,743 elevation. The most stunning snow mountains I've seen. Easily my favorite minus the crowd and the travel time but I enjoyed it all. Bring your camera and have a blast! Oh and enjoy the chocolates too!

Yelp
For review #420 I am going to write about one of the "highest" places I've ever been: the top of Europe at Jungraujoch. Heh heh. Getting to the top is one of the greatest views you'll see in your lifetime. A pure white snowy endless row of mountains is truly breathtaking to behold. It's also breathtaking because the air is thinner up there so for those sensitive to altitude change please be wary. The top of Europe is where all the magic happens and where you'll want to take the most pictures either at the very top or later a bit lower where you can actually walk out onto the snowy cliffs. Either way you're afforded some of the best views in Switzerland especially on a clear sunny day. It is pure bliss how majestic the powdery snow spans as far as the eye can see into chasms of unsullied mountain ranges. Below the top of Europe at Jungfraujoch is way more touristy. There's an ice palace to check out which is basically an all ice small exhibit that feels like an igloo so wear the right shoes and hold onto the rail because it is slippery. One easter egg is a stuffed animal squirrel from Ice Age is encased in one block of ice. There's also an exhibit that takes you through the history of building the path up to Jungfraujoch and that is a bit more corny but worth passing through. Finally, you'll have to swing by the Lindt store on the way down. It is a good place to pick up souvenirs but expensive and commercial so stick to the exclusive items. On the train ride back you may be able to find courtesy bags in case the altitude has you feeling sick. They'll also have a gentleman going around checking tickets but also giving you a small block of Lindt chocolate to commemorate your journey to the top of Europe. Sweet!

Yelp
This place is a must see if you happen to be nearby. The view as you begin to ascend beyond the clouds is breathtaking and unreal. There are tons of opportunities for photos. This also makes a good venue for marriage proposals (I saw two the day I went!). Beware, they will charge quite a bit for snacks and food, so I recommend packing your own. For example, I recall a cup of instant noodles is around 8 EUR. However, my friends told me it was well worth it! The ice castle was kind of boring to me, but you have to see it anyway. Also, they have the Lindt chocolate store inside which has the cheapest prices for them in Switzerland; I regret not buying any while I was there.

Yelp
This is the highest railway station, hence the name, Top of Europe. This is a beautiful scenic route that allows you see the best of nature in Switzerland. During the ride, you are able to open the windows of your train car. The air is really fresh and the grass is extraordinarily green. When you visit Switzerland, it's like seeing something out of a storybook. During our visit, it was in late fall so it was a bit chilly. It was foggy so I was not able to see much at the observatory. Make sure to bring a jacket to stay warm.

Kaylin M.

Yelp
A great place for bringing family. A little pricy but worth every penny. Amazing views of Eiger and Jungfrau, beautiful ice sculptures. The train to the top is pretty long though, and not everything there is handicap accessible. Overall great place.

Yelp
A M A Z I I I N G !!!!! I dreamed to visit this place for sooo long, mainly for the historical train who ride inside the mountains. But unfortunately the price 200chf was too high for me. And luckily this year, thanks to a GREAT offer by LINDT I was able to make the trip for only 70chf !!! And it was a wonderful experience !!! :):):)

Annalisa S.

Yelp
Wow, talk about something worth the money. Amazing views, tons of stops with cute towns and activities along the way, and memories you won't forget as you stand at the top of Europe! But make sure you dress really warm! Especially for the ice castle section of the tour!

Yelp
Second time around and it never failed to amaze me. Awesome time as always and the train ride was as smooth as the first time (10 years ago). Love, love, love this place in winter with the snow covering the Bernese Alps and as you begin to ascend the views get better and better. The panoramic restaurants offers variety of delicious foods, hot/cold beverages, and souvenir shops have more to offer as well. The tunnels are still jaw dropping even for a second timer. Highly recommend for anyone to see this place even just for one time.

Swimmer S.

Yelp
The breathtaking view that you will never forget! The cost is steep $200 Swiss Franc, yet totally worth it! Bring the good photography gear! Also, leave on the very first train you can get up so you can enjoy and hang out enjoying the absolutely astonishing views all day! The total time to get up is about 2 hours. You will change trains about 3-4 times on the way up and down. If you feel dizzy as you get there, take it easy, drink some coffee and some chips and wait until you feel situated before continuing to explore. Take your time going through all the steps on the little booklet they give you, and keep going to the next step! Majestic feeling being out there!

Yelp
TOP OF EUROPE One of the highlights of a trip to Switzerland is the train trip to the Top of Europe. The Jungfrau Railway takes us to Europe's highest altitude railway station at 3500m approx. The final stage up is on a 108m lift, which makes the trip in 11 smooth seconds. The weather isn't the best at the very top but we do get glimpses of the terrain and get out for a few steps on the glacier. You have to take the mountains as you find them. Back down the lift then and into the famous ice palace, carved into the glacier. Temperature is minus two degrees but it is easy to walk around and view the chambers and the ice sculptures.

Yelp
The top is absolutely beautiful but be aware that if you take the train from Grindelwald the people working at the counter are super racist. We paid for train tickets with a credit card and they claimed we hadn't paid. They made us call our bank but would not call their credit card services even as we showed them that the money had been taken out of our account. The manager even told us that he was a racist. Frau Tabrande wasted our time for an hour (that was the lady working at the counter). They then told us to pay a second time and come back after our trip while they were finally gonna call their credit card services. When we came back they admitted that we had now paid twice but refused to apologize to us for our inconvenience or their terrible behavior.

Yelp
Let me just start by saying if you're doubting it because of the cost, the views are SO worth it. The tourist traffic sucks and the trains can be a little confusing (esp. if you don't have cell phone access) but we are so happy we went. It was the perfect day. 80° F - sunny - no rain or fog. However; it is a trek and we are incredibly exhausted afterwards. There were a significant amount of people bringing their children but I would NEVER. There are too many hazardous places (ice palace, cliffs with nothing to stop you from falling, grates) and it's a ton of walking around. Half of the children we saw were miserable. Make sure to buy the reservation on the train or you will end up in a line full of people just hoping you can make it in and out of the place. If you do get a reservation, don't get bumrushed trying to keep your place In line - they make sure everyone has a spot for the time they reserved. The people go absolutely insane and will run you over, so be aggressive or just wait in the back until the herd disperses. There's so much more to say but all in all, it was worth every penny. Or frank.

Yelp
Cool place! Pros: 1. Top of Europe. 2. Snow caps even in summer 3. Chilly weather 4. Cliff walks are safe but the floor gives good view of what lies beneath 5. Train journey (non black zone) is super nice Cons: 1. Very touristy place - so lots of people always! 2. Takes at least 2 hours by the slow moving cob wheel trains. Of which the last 1 hour in through about 7 kms tunnel. So your excitement levels are tested when its pitch black outside for 1 hour. 3. Pressure difference takes toll (head aches or naussea) when you return back.

Yelp
How anybody could give this less than five stars is ridiculous. This is THE MOST BEAUTIFUL place on the entire planet, seriously. It's expensive, yes. But chances are, if you had the money to trek it out to Switzerland, you can pinch some pennies together and go here. You will not regret it.

Kevin J.

Yelp
Yes, it's very expensive. Yes, you pretty much write a day off getting there and back. And yes, it's very busy up there. All said and done though, you won't experience anything like this anywhere else on the planet. The views, of course, are breathtaking. You can get out and about on the glacier and - if you're feeling energetic an know what you're doing - you can walk to Koncordia Hutte. There is plenty to do up there, so you won't get bored. Food and drink is, of course, very expensive (they have to get it all up there, after all) and there are long queues for the restaurants. It can, surprise surprise, get very cold and windy outside, so wear something sensible and don't, like a group of Italian ladies did, try tottering about outside in heels. The train stops at viewing points - one of which in on the North face of the Eiger. Bring a spare battery for your camera and a large memory card.

Yelp
I love switzerland, such a beautiful & clean country. I have never felt so cold in my life as I did up here LOL! It is the highest peak of the mountain in the swiss alps & can be reached by a coghill railway, with Europe's highest altitude rail station located up there. Once at the top, there are a variety of activities on offer including an ice palace of sculptures, a restaurant / cafe & an observation terrace - which is freakin' freezing!!! Wrap up very warmly with the layers on thick when visiting is all I can say. The railway journey up is so pretty, with amazing scenery to take in all the way to the top. May seem on the pricey side to many a tourist - but trust me - so worth it - especially if you're not from a country that experiences snow very often.

Qype User (honey_…)

Yelp
Switzerland is just an awesome place. It's so beautiful - kinda like they took all the world's scenery and stuck it in one place. The great thing about jungfrau is that there is snow all year round. I went in summer and was able to go on a massive zip-wire line, have a sledge ride led my huskies and go snowboarding. There is also a really cool ice-palace which has pretty sculptures and as long as no-one catches you and you are careful, you can skate along the floor ^_^
