Jungle Boss Homestay

I had a restful stay at Jungle Boss Homestay. I got a bed in the dorm and was the only one there (May). My bed was comfortable and the room was clean. There are curtains on each bed and a locker. Shower had good pressure, AC worked well. The location is very peaceful, surrounded by rice fields. It is however a few kilometres out of the centre of town, but bikes are available to use for guests. Overall the amenities are really good and the swimming pool is a nice addition. Staff was pleasant to deal with. The laundry service is convenient but on the expensive side. I just didn't understand why the breakfast wasn't included in the price of the dorm bed. My friends who took a private room had one, and paid the same price per person as me.

I have been travelling for 2 months and this was unfortunately my worst experience with a hotel. We (a couple) were given a family room when we arrived. We went for food straight away and ordered from the 5 minute menu as we hadn't eaten all day. We waited for almost an hour before we decided to leave and go somewhere else. The next day we decided to try again and went down for breakfast which came within 15 minutes, so maybe the night before was a one off. After our breakfast an employee came and asked to check our booking (which they did not do on arrival). He told us we were given the wrong room and that we would have to pack our things and move within the hour. Not the best start to our first day. As far as I can tell there is only one other couple staying at this hotel at this time and so I doubt they needed the room to be available that soon. Regardless, we packed and moved rooms. The same employee then told us not to worry as they wouldn't charge us for the night we spent in the room that they mistakenly gave us. Quite shocking that they felt as though they were doing us a favour in saying this as half of our first day has been wasted packing up and moving over. The views are amazing, but that is not unique to this hotel. I would not recommend staying here. We spent the majority of our time in other hotels/ hostels so you may as well save yourself the effort.

We had a wonderful stay here! They helped organize everything from tours, to bus tickets, and rides. Rented us a motor bike at great price and arranged early breakfast just for us so we could eat before a tour. Thank you Huong and Phuong for being so kind and attentive.

I've 3 nights here. It was wonderfull. The room was super clean and nice with the mountain view. Quiet, fresh atmosphere, warmly welcomed and the hosts was friendly and helpful. I loved the nature here, with a free bicycle that provided by the homestay, I explored Phong Nha so much. Hope to be back here again.

Absolutely delightful! Rooms are basic but cute and spotlessly clean, the fan is so good you hardly need the air con, it’s a 30 minute walk to town but they have free bicycles and the neighborhood is super relaxing and beautiful, and the staff was above and beyond helpful with booking tours / transport / answering questions. Also I dunno what they do with with their banana pancakes but I’ve been up down and all over the banana pancake trail and these are THE BEST

Wouldn't recommend staying here. Had a very stressful experience. Saw many nicer hotels / home stays

The rooms here are basic but with comfortable beds and the pillows are fine. Plenty of hot water, good water pressure and a rural setting. The ladies who run the place are attentive and kind and offer very good service. As a previous reviewer mentioned, there were lots of very tiny non biting bug (ants?) but since they didn't bite, it was not a big deal. There are free bikes to use as well. My criticism is the price we were charged for a ride into town and back for dinner. It was more expensive than the meal. The RT distance was about 4 miles and it took 6 minutes. We were charged 250000 dong which was more expensive than our meal. For comparison, the car they arranged to take us to Dong Hoi airport was 550000 dong. Weirdly expensive to get a ride into town in my opinion. It was dark, we were tired from a day of hiking (with Jungle Boss) and didn't want to ride bikes at night into town and back.
