Empty no filling inside the Winnie the Pooh ..!! This is $20 for a piece of plastic can’t even eat .. ! So disappointed. Please don’t tell your customers this is a cake .!!!

Seems like the quality did go down. They used to have a lot more options. I went for a mango mousse cake but it wasnt as good as it used to be. The presentation was just sad and the cake looks old or something wasn't done right. Their prices are on the high end for cakes but the quality doesn't meet the expectations anymore. Disappointed.

I have been getting their mango mouse cake for many years as my daughter likes it. This year the cake was worst cake that I never had. The top of mango gelatin was so dull, not shinny. It used to be bright mango color. The next day I found out there is liquid around the cake. The liquid looks like from the gelatin. I am so disappointed. I think they changed the owner to cause the bad quality cake. When I picked up the cake, there was a Mexican guy there. He dressed up like a chef. I am sure he makes all the cake. I am not going to order anything from Jungle cafe. If I could be able to put a zero star , I would have had put zero star. So disappointed. The left side is this year. The right side was from previous year.

I had the dessert here a long time ago, may be 7, 8 years ago and I loved it. I am cutting sweets in my diet for so many years now. But I happened to be in Chinatown and saw the shop, I decided to go in and got a Tiramisu and a coffee to give myself a treat. It was really delicious just as I remembered. I am very picky with my food nowadays and only eat if it’s really good, especially sweets. I really love the dessert and well worth the calories. Thanks for doing an amazing job! Love their tiramisu and the hazelnut mousses. As good as the ones I tasted in Paris. Love it!

This bakery has lasted a long time - they used to be located in a different plaza in Chinatown. Then they upgraded to a very large space where it is located currently - it was very new and clean and empty back then. Now it's downsized to about half the size it was originally after the move. I suppose it's not doing well - 85 degrees celsius came in across the street and threw it out of business I suspect. But don't write this one off! Been coming here for years and the black forest and mango mousse are some of the most soft, creamy delicious cakes I've tried. And honestly the price isn't so bad for a high-end bakery. I've heard that wedding cakes done here are absolutely spectacular and delicious. There's a display case with cakes made by Jungle Cafe, and then a table with some knick knacks for celebration like cake toppers and such. When you place an order they bring you a frozen one from the back usually so be sure to wait for it to thaw a bit before eating. If it's for a special occasion they have tiny toppers that they'll add to the cake with your requested wording. I don't know that they write on the cake with icing - in a lot of cases due to the beautiful decoration on the cakes I'd imagine it wouldn't look very good. Everything is beautifully, oh so beautifully decorated. Not only the cakes but the packaging as well! There's a convenient iPad with which to pay with at the front. No complaints about the service. As always with Chinatown parking is guaranteed but not guaranteed to be close.

🌟🤍♥️👏🏻 What can I say about this wonderful place ... Everything is absolutely divine!! My family and I have been customers of this pastry shop since the opening of the first store, and of course this current store also continues to be frequent customers!! 🤍♥️Starting with the owners, who are always extremely kind, and their team too, all the cakes and sweets are custom-made with a whim and unbelievable perfection!! And the space in this store is just adorable! 🌟🥰Definitely our place! I recommend going back and back and going back to that special place, just like I do!! It's always fun and nice time! 🌟And also to pick up purchases for parties and special celebrations! I love being spoiled😂!! Everyone likes it, right!!

Google
It's a bit expensive, but they are a higher-end bakery than 85C. This isn't where you come when you want some mass-produced cakes; this is where you come when you want moderately fancy Euro-Asian-inspired works of art. They have large cakes as well as individual serving cakes. And they don't just look fancy, they taste good as well. Great service! If they have it (since they rotate their flavor selection often) I highly recommend their gateaux plasir--it has the most heavenly chocolate mousse!

Yelp
I ordered a small plaisir (chocolate with raspberry mousse filling) cake for my mother's birthday online, for pickup the next business day, and I received a text minutes before the pickup time that my cake was ready. The worker (owner?) who helped me showed me the cake with the message on it for my approval, carefully placed it in a box, and showed me the inside of the box as she closed it, as if to make sure I knew that it was in there. I appreciated that little detail. Service was great and I hoped the cake would be good too. My mom loves this bakery, so when she saw the branded box she got really happy. My entire family ate the cake and raved about how good it was. It was also extremely beautiful, with white chocolate shavings along the sides and a milk chocolate 3D decoration on the top. This is the second time I've purchased this cake from the bakery and it seems consistent in flavor and presentation. I'm glad my mom (and family) enjoyed it!

Yelp
Though it's remained one of the longest standing and most popular bakeries in Chinatown, I don't think their cakes and pastries are particularly for me. I've tried many cakes and pastries throughout the years, and their designs are unquestionably very unique and pretty, but some of the textures and taste of the cakes and pastries do not entirely win me over. During this past Christmas, I needed a last minute cake and I am very grateful Jungle Cafe & Bakery came thru! The Christmas cake was a white chocolate mousse and it had many different layers to it. It just seemed like there was a lot going on, but some of my family members enjoyed it and that's all that mattered to me. In the end I will consider them again in the future as they were a great option for a last minute scenario!

Yelp
I haven't had a cake from this place in over 10 years. I decided to order the cake I craved so long ago. It was the mango mouse cake. It was $42. , $60.60 with grub hub delivery! I wasn't impressed. Seemed way too pricey, and not that special. I understand it could be a time consuming cake to make. But it left a gross milk after taste. Out of the 9 people who ate it 2 were ok with it. Most ate a couple of bites, and tossed the rest. Disappointed.

Yelp
My friend and I was craving some dessert after a big bowl of ramen, so we decided to come here. I usually read reviews before going to any establishment however I didn't read for this one. WOW I was shocked that this place had a 2.5 rating but I quite understand why it was a 2.5/5 stars. While the presentation of their cakes looked amazing the taste ehh not so much. I got the mango cheesecake and the creme brûlée, my cheesecake was frozen and you guys know when it's frozen that means it ain't fresh. The creme brûlée was ok/decent really nothing special. So when I got home I went straight to the reviews & I saw that a lot of 1 star reviews were for rude & disrespectful service; luckily I didn't get that treatment, maybe it was her good day lol. Overall the quality did not matched with the prices, 5.19 for a small slice of FROZEN cheesecake? Really? Y'all tripping. Idk if I'll come back but if I do, it'll be a while.

Yelp
Great job for our wedding cake. We got lots of compliments and the price was very fair compared to a lot of other bakeries close by. We couldn't have been happier on how it turned out. There were no issues when it came to ordering, communication, and delivery. They were on top of it and kept their promise. If you decide on ordering your wedding cake from them, call ahead and book an appointment. The person in charge of wedding cakes isn't always there. As for taste, it wasn't the very best, but it was still good! Our guests enjoyed it so that's all that matters. It's not too sweet either (as expected from Asian style cakes). I think if you order the mango moose styles then it'll be a bit sweeter so you have options!

Nariy S.

Yelp
I scheduled for pick up at 5, already paid for since I ordered online. I've called to let them know I will be running late due to work and traffic I will be there at 6:32pm (gps said) the lady was rude and said, "if you're not here at 6:30 I close door!" and hang up. I totally understand the closing time but for me not to have a cake for a bday dinner definitely bummed about it! I can't wait to call in the morning and get a refund never again I will order from here!

Yelp
According to a chron.com story few decades ago, Jungle Cafe & Bakery was located in Diho Square. It moved to Dun Huang Plaza during the widening construction of Bellaire Blvd, which lots of businesses followed. I came to Jungle Cafe & Bakery with a pure curiosity because I rarely see anyone in here. Here's how I experience it. First, I have to go through a giant echo chamber. Then, I have to squint at the menu with tiny lettering. It would be harder to read at certain hours in the afternoon. The reflection and sunlight made it worse. I browsed every pastry in the glass display cases to conclude that I can't eat any of them. The shiny pastries are made with high sugar content. The stiffness means it contains milk fat. Majority of them are hidden behind a coat of chocolate or something I can't easily pronounce. I want something natural, like fruits or teas. I spotted those dehydrated fruits. I really loved the dried oranges. A little pricey but I can indulge the entire bag without worrying to be consumed by anyone around me. (If I took a bag of cookies to work, it would be gone in 10 minutes. People are shy from healthy food at work. It's definitely good for me.) I've heard this bakery interior resembled high-end cafes in Taiwan. To me, it's annoying. There's no place for me to sit. My joints would hurt more when stand up from sitting low.

Yelp
I ordered a cake four days before pickup. I picked it up on time. Cake was cute in design, but partially frozen inside and sweating on the outside. Not what you anticipate for a fresh bakery cake. If I wanted frozen i would purchase from the grocery store frozen aisle.

Yelp
Went there today for pre Valentine treat. The place itself is hard to notice in a strip mall. I happened to see it and walk inside. It is a small but very cute place next to two other bakeries. This bakery however has such delicately place desserts and they were all so picturesque. I need to have one. Or two... Well there was a special 6 desserts for 20 dollars. I couldn't help myself. The packaging was just as cute as the desserts. All of the desserts were light and spongy. Not too sweet not too much. They all looks wonderful and we're a great portion. The only thing negative that. I have to say is that they were all good but none were particularly wonderful as far as taste goes. Everything had a hint of flavor but not balanced enough for my palate. My family loved it. I just was hoping for a bit more flavor All in all I would get more for my family as a nice treat.

Yelp
Coffee cookies were gross, chocolate puppy dog was hard as a rock. The coffee mousse cake was yummy but overpriced. Also, they charged me twice.

Yelp
Top bakery for the many times and the many birthday cakes y family has ordered from here. The taste is very well balanced and definitely not on the sweet side but just right. All the flavors just come through beautifully and the cake is light as air. What is done here is magic for my taste buds . Thank you jungle cafe for crafting such tasty creations to share in Chinatown. Your whole line of coffee and baked goods are top shelf and top notch.

Yelp
The bakery I always go to when I want to give someone a cake that is unique, tasty, and not too bad on the health aspect. Jungle cake is an expert on make super aesthetic cakes that are layered with cream, fruit and taste. The taste is not super heavy on the sweet side but that is good! The creams are always on the light side and also on the actual cake itself. What they have done is taken a traditional cake and made it very light and delicate. They are also very good with the details and their sweets are designed very well! I will continue to come back and get cakes from them for years to come!

Yelp
I swear to God that I had written a 2000-word review on how horrible of an experience that I had with Jungle Cafe yesterday and how the chef and the staff, specifically this Asian woman with eyeglasses and her hair wrapped in a bandana, put me in such a hopeless FML situation. But, I just now found my "saved" review magically gone as I was going to finish up the review.....hahaa, not funny. I'm not gonna write another 2000 words, so here is the recap: 1) Wedding cake done without the wording; Chef was sooooooo forgetful and not professional. What's the point of custom-making a wedding cake without the names of the bride and groom? 2) Staff was very rude and disrespectful, not trying to help at all, and just kept giving me and my husband all kinds of attitude in the face. Yes, I'm talking about this lady wearing a bandana, standing behind the counter, who was so wicked and trying to deny all the mistakes and problems NOT caused by the customer (the innocent me!) 3) When I asked them to simply write on the cake the bride & groom's names, answer was to my surprise a clear "NO!" She just kept calling and speaking on the phones with the Chef, which had wasted us at least 10-15 minutes already, and then they finally admitted to the problem and said that the Chef would be coming back in 30 minutes to make the wording. Oh my lord.....HELLO!! THIRTY MINUTES!?! We had a wedding to attend and did not have another 30 minutes to spare! 4) Then, I asked if anyone in the kitchen could write on the cake or that even I could do it if they would give me an icing tube or whatever to write with, her answer was again a clear "NO!" and her attitude was getting more and more rude. She kept saying with this robotic tone of voice, "Chef be coming back in 30 minutes....Chef be coming back in 30 minutes....Chef be coming back in 30 minutes...." and didn't even try to understand the fact that we were in a hurry to go! GrrrrrRRRrrrrrr WTF!! I assume it was either that all the people in the kitchen were illiterate and not able to write two short names with an ampersand in between, or that they just DID NOT CARE! In the end, we sorrowfully left with a "nameless" wedding cake since we were running late already and didn't wanna waste any more time on something not getting fixed anyways. No partial refunds, no store credits, no nothing given so as to apologize for the mistakes made at their own end. So, i guess this is just how Jungle Cafe treats the customers and perhaps why the business has been going down and down over the years. "Would I ever go back to Jungle Cafe?" My answer, in return, would be a clear "NO!"

Yelp
Mini cakes weren't that great. Tasted strangely too bland and not sophisticated... or even plain good. Also overpriced. We threw away half of each cake out... 4/10, would not come again unless someone bought it for me.
google avatar

Sandra S.

Yelp
I purchased a number cake and they told me that it would be 8 inches and served about ten people. I bought two numbers and they were only about 5 inches.... I spent 90 on a cake that does not match the size they provided me. Highly disappointed! Make sure you see exactly replicas before purchasing.

Yelp
I had come across this bakery on a whim. It was my mom's birthday and I needed a birthday cake last minute. Thankfully the staff there was more than helpful and promised me I could have a cake by the next morning. I ordered the 6 inch cake 'Isabella' White chocolate mousse with a raspberry and cheesecake filling! Decorated with pink heart macarons and a white chocolate rose on top. It was yummy! And reasonably priced it was only $29 I saw so many other cakes and treats I wanted to get for my kids birthday so I will definitely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
I don't know why they got so low ratings. Their cake is AMAZING! I ordered a matcha cake at 2pm and got it at 5pm. mannnnn IT IS DELICIOUS! The cake is so moist and soft. The sweetness is just right The cake is kinda pricey but you get what you pay for whoever made this cake, thank you for your work I love it!! you just got a loyal customer now
google avatar

Tom L.

Yelp
Been a customer for many years now. Their cake tastes perfect, just the right amount of sweetness and complexity. And WOW, do their cake look beautiful!
google avatar

Amanda D.

Yelp
Received a late birthday cake gift from here , the cake is really delicious and has a lot of complex and unique components to it. There was a chocolate rice crispy treat for the bottom which was surprising and also yummy

Tory R.

Yelp
Awful cake order experience, I asked for a letter birthday cake for my husband and i was shocked when i picked it up with the decorations, it was decorated for a baby boy colors and baby little buttons , and they added "cucumber"!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the decor!!!! It was wrong, ugly and not tasty at all!!!!! Wasted my money and my time driving 1 hour to get to the place, NOT WORTH IT!
google avatar

Yelp
Best bakery ever, have been going here for years. It's a treat in its self because I live way far from China town but well worth the trip. This year I got the mango mousse cake for my Birthday and it was and is so good. I saved some In sealed containers and still taste fresh and delicious after a week. Can't wait to go back. Wish the had the strawberry mousse cake in full size because that is so delicious it's out of this world. Also if your in the area drop buy and get coffee and a pastry you will love the smoothness and not so high in sugar they bake. Can't wait to go back.

Tracy D.

Yelp
I was three minutes late to go pick up my dad's 80th birthday cake on January 3rd. The store employee or owner refuses to let me inside to pick up the cake. They just stared at me as I tried to get inside. We had to have a big party without the cake. It was disappointing, and we know this is our last time doing business with them. I know I was late, but only by three minutes. I live far away from Jungle Cafe & Bakery so it takes us about an hour drive to get there.

Yelp
I guess this place has been around so long that others don't love it like i do. I prefer my desserts to be not too sweet but also feeds my eyes. Their deserts are uber cute! My favorite cakes are the Black Forest and the Mango Mousse. Keep in mind I like my deserts to be light and not too sweet or rich. Their storefront is spacious and has a clean and modem design to it.

Yelp
Jungle Cafe has been in the cake business for a while now. I remember back when their old location was at the Welcome supermarket plaza of Chinatown, and a birthday cake from Jungle Cafe was a must because they were so nicely decorated with extreme detail. But the fancy decor came at a price, because their products really lacked in terms of taste. Couple years ago they moved to a new and more spacious location at the Dun Huang plaza, also in Chinatown. I will give them props for the splendidly elegant and modernized design of their new store, which makes it feel like a high class restaurant. They have added drinks to their menu, and also provided chairs and tables for those who want to sit down and enjoy a small dessert treat. The taste of their products have improved, but unfortunately did not improve as much as the appearance of the store, and it definitely does not match the price On the bright side however, their precise and detailed decorations of their cakes remain intact, and is probably the sole reason why they still have decent business. Besides an improvement in taste, Jungle Cafe could also use some improvement in service as well. They never have more than one person working behind the counter, which is a huge flaw when it comes to customer service. I pre-ordered a cake one time for a friend's birthday. Designated a specific pickup date and time and all. When I came to pick it up, I had to wait a good 15 minutes for them to bring it out, because the only person working behind the counter left to assist another customer, while in the middle of assisting me... Very unprofessional and rude. The next time I came in to browse around, a customer was able to walk in, ask for a cake, and have it packaged and paid for in less than 5 minutes - and he didn't even pre-order it. Just picked it straight from the display case. Their methods of customer service makes entirely no sense at all.

Yelp
For my boyfriend's birthday, I got him the mango mousse cake. Both him and his family loved it!! This place never disappoints.
google avatar

Rudy C.

Yelp
Yesterday, was the 5th time I enjoyed the desserts from this place. Their cakes are fresh and delicious. Not over sweetened and the different flavor actually taste like the flavor they are. Like the Mango tastes like a fresh mango, strawberry cake like strawberries... the attendant is very attentive and knowledgeable. Probably she's the owner. Anyways, I have tried desserts from the other bakeries/cafes around, Dessert Gallery, Madeleine, but the Jungle Cafe is the best in the West!

Yelp
WTF!! We spent 90 dollars on a customized cake and we got a half-ass frozen cake with cheap looking decor. The cake was not worth what we pay for. I saw some of their other design online and it was half what we pay for. I don't know. This place is ridiculous. If you can not make the cake, you should just say so in the first place. What a wasted of money. PLEASE DONT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE!! IT WAS MY FIRST TIME EATING THEIR CAKE. NOT IMPRESSED:) I HAD BETTER. Why was the inside frozen ??
google avatar

Christine T.

Yelp
Disappointment. Ok to get desserts, but do NOT order a custom cake from here. Overcharged for a mediocre frozen customized "fresh" cake. Clearly they failed to produce us a product we've asked for. When they said, "it won't be exactly like the one in the picture", they really meant "I can't make it, but I can charge you for our pre-made cakes and slap some chocolate on it". The least they could do was add few more chocolate designs of the LV logo.

Yelp
Just throwing in my review for kicks since it is one of my favorite places for cakes. When people ask me where to get a nice cake and yummy-- i yell for JUNGLE!!! I have been going to them since i found out about them-- like 5+ years. They have now changed locations to a bigger location in the newer center where the young crowds are starting to cramp together and the older generation trying to relive thier youth. Parking still somewhat sucks as the spots are still small and can get crowded easily with scary asian drivers around. Its new place is open with a few tables. The display of pastries and cakes just makes you want to get one of each!! Anyway, my favorite cakes to get are Strawberry shortcake and Black Forest. Jungle Cafe's cakes are not heavy and thick. They are fluffy and just perfect in taste. Its obviously not the heavy texture and high sugar content and taste, like grocery stores or american bakeries. On top of that, the presentation its just jaw dropping. I know many times I bring a cake to parties and events that everyone just goes "ooo" and "ahh" over the cakes. Asking where I got it from. Even customers who see the cake that i am purchasing want to take a stab at it. BEWARE--the cakes a limited to their daily production. So, if you want a specific cake, order AHEAD a time (at least 24 hours) or CALL once they OPEN to ask if they will have the cake in stock that day and they will reserve it for you. IF not... by 2pm, all the top cakes are GONE. Even I get last minute cakes but before I head out, I call them first to ask what cakes they have available. They have cakes in various sizes from the small family size cake in shapes of rectangles to circular cakes serving 8+. I have gotten a cake to feed 30 people which cost about 45-50 bucks 2 years back. So they can really do any size. Love it! can't go wrong!! and they do sell other things than pasteries such as drinks (tapioca, tea, and coffee)

Yelp
What an interesting place with beautiful desserts. We stopped by here after dinner in Chinatown. First problem, the sign on the door says that they are open from 1000 - 2000. I heard more than one person confused. Sure, you know that means 10am to 8pm, but not everyone gets that. Second, we arrived at 8:35pm and they were still open, so they don't even stick by their own hours. We looked at the lovely desserts are decided on the Tira Misu and the chocolate mousse cake. When we ordered them, we were asked twice if it was 'to go'. We said twice that it was 'for here' and the cashier got annoyed. She told me that they 'close in 20 minutes'. I assured her that we would be gone by 9pm, she seemed annoyed. We sat down and had our desserts. The tira misu was delicious. It was the right mix of land fingers, cream, and cocoa. The chocolate mousse cake was good. As we sat there and enjoyed our desserts, we really got the feeling that everyone was being rushed out. The staff didn't give anyone else the option of eating in, they boxed everything up. The to-go containers are gorgeous. The larger cake boxes are really beautiful with ribbons on top to tie them shut. A wonderful presentation piece to bring as a dessert to someone's house or party. There were only 8 small tables in the cafe. People are encouraged to leave with their items, so why have the tables? Grumpy salespeople make for a 3 star experience that could have been easily a 4 star.

Yelp
I use to like this place, but after the cake that I got. I am very disappointed, for the price I pay for this cake is RIDICULOUS!! I spent $90 on this cake that it was suppose to be "custom make", but when I compare this cake to any other ones that they have it is the same thing just different topping. If they told me ahead of time that they are unable to make my cake then I would had gone somewhere and be happy to spend $90 or more for something that looks similar to the cake that I wanted. The cake that they made is way off from the picture that I showed them. I am just posting this to let everyone know that if you want a custom cake don't come here. By the way, when I received my cake and brought back to work. The cake was frozen, I was having trouble cutting the cake because the mango mousse was very hard!

Yelp
I am Caucasian, so normal when i go into stores in Chinatown i expect a language barrier however today at jungle cafe when i went in and it was another Caucasian lady I went to order my drink & when she realized I wasn't ordering a large order and just getting a drink i no longer existed. She walked over to the next group and forgot to request my drink. There was a bunch of young kids in there and at their eye level was a lamp with the power button as the penis, not appropriate for a store that has young kids that come in with their families. I have a photo

Tiff T.

Yelp
Be the customer for over 16 years since I have been in Houston. Love the cake because it's not too sweet and of course it's delicious. But kind of disappointed notice the cake we used to love now is too too too sweet, can't not enjoy it like before. Wondering if it's different owner now??? Luckily the chestnut cake is still great, not too sweet. We bought 2 cake this time : pistachio ( too sweet) and chestnut ( still great).

Yelp
It's my very first time came to this bakery. It could be said that I have tried most bakeries in Bellaire including 85, Six Ping, Kamala, Tous les Jous,... you name it...I was looking for a birthday cake for my friend. Wanted something new and I came across this pretty shop. I was impressed at the display cakes they have and decided to give it a try first. I ordered 2 small cakes: Dark chocolate mousse and coffee mousse. These are the most soft, moist yet airy, tasty all-in-one-bite cakes I have been looking for. The taste and texture is amazing and the decor is so cute and chic. The price for me was not overly priced or expensive at all (~$5/cake) because when sliced open, I can see that there's perfect cake layers of complementary flavors. I was surprised to read that there were many bad reviews on this cute shop. I definitely will come back next time to see if there's a consistency in the quality, but for the first time, they impressed me!

Yelp
My family relatives and friends all frequent this place for birthdays special occasions and holidays. Sometimes I even show up for their single portions just because I crave jungle cafe cake A LOT. My personal favorite is the Black Forest cake. Soft moist. Perfect cloud of deliciousness. Never too sweet. Definitely worth giving this place a shot whenever you need cake!

Yelp
I'm in love with the mango mousse cake. They make it perfectly, except for this one time when my cake was slightly frozen. I've had mango mousse cake from two other bakeries and they weren't as good as the cake here. I've never tried anything else from this establishment.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place. It's beautiful inside and they have many little desserts and cakes. Some of their cakes have some really intricate designs and are true works of art. Being the coffee addict that I am, I saw a various amount of options. The coffee float grabbed my attention immediately. The dude working in the front seemed pretty cool and friendly.

Yelp
Nice spot to relax with a coffee or tea! Plenty of comfortable seating and plenty of desserts if looking for an after dinner experience. Located close to many restaurants in the Dun Huang Plaza area on Bellaire. This is a quaint little place that has been here for years! I met a friend there for a coffee and conversation today and found it a nice place to relax and talk. Spacious and cozy with a nice ambience the latte I had was good and the service was good as well! Plenty of pastries, cakes and treats if you do desire and it's a nice walk to many of the restaurants and businesses in the area. If you're looking for a clean upscale looking place to share a coffee or tea with a friend this is a good choice! It had been awhile since I had been here but I found the place a nice alternative to a Star Bucks or a traditional coffee house. Check it out!

Yelp
I moved away from Houston more than seven years ago, but I pay Jungle a visit each time I go back. Their cakes look so enticing.... and the iced coffee drinks are just the right thing for Houston! The young couple that started the business are always warm and friendly. It's nice to see the shop thrive.

Yelp
I'm not too fond of the new location. The cakes were better at the old place and the decor.... what's with the big empty space when you first walk in? I remember the cakes being fluffy and cheap at the old place. I suppose to pay for the fancier decor, they raised the prices, but the cakes have not been up to par. My daughter got a special Hello Kitty cake from there and it was pretty, but not good. She took two bites from it and passed it along. The flavors on the cakes are good. The cake decor and packaging is fancy and pretty. However, the quality is another thing. The mousse items are still tasty, but the cakes tend to be a bit on the dry side. I think some of the cakse are frozen! But then again, that's the true Asian way... don't waste, freeze for later!

Yelp
We got him a strawberry mousse cake at Jungle cafe for my son 1st birthday. When we cut it out the bottom crust was burn, so we went back to ask for an exchange. The manager said " that is not burn, it caramel". We said "no the bottom of the cake it burned ( flip a slide of the cake and point at it). The manager still insists that is caramel and told us we dont know what we taking about. Then the manager call back to ask the chef, and according to the manager, "the chef said all cake are inspected before when to the store front so everything is fine". I ask if we can talk to the chef, and have that person come out and talk to us, they said NO. At this point I was beyond PISSED OFF. They wouldn't exchange or refund and they said we can leave the cake there so they can reexamine it. What the hell was that? Leave the cake for reexamining? I wasted $38 dollars on a worthless cake. I will never buy from them ever again. BAD PRODUCT+ BAD SERVICE = MY BLACKLIST OVER PRICED, UNDER QUALIFIED

Yelp
Will never come back to this place and Will tell all the friends stay away from this bakery. Fraud. We order a customized birthday minecraft cake for our son. Got charge 160 and was told it would be 80 percent identical. Picked up the cake and it looked like piece of trash and still asked for 160. What kind of business is that?

Yelp
11.15.15 This was my very first time. After Church (around lunch time) I decided to give a try. They do have some parking spots for up to 15 min for their customers ordering to-go. The place looks really nice and elegant. I noticed they do have too much blank space around. They do have pretty tables and chairs if you want to seat and eat-in. The presentation of each sweet and cake was really beautiful. However, not as many variety as I thought for as big place. I order a creme brulee slice ($2.49), and a Cheesecake Mango Berry Slice (4.63). I think is too high in price for the portion. I was ask if I was going to pay in cash or card. Yes, they do have two different prices, which I did not appreciate. Anyways, I pay cash to save some money since it was too much already for 2 pieces. The to-go bix was secure and beautiful design. Once home, about 10 miles away I was so ready to eat. When I sliced the fork....ooops I found a big hard chunk inside of both. They were still FROZEN in the middle. So disappointed, it was not fresh as I thought. They do not even were paying attention to it? After the shock of the prices now I have to wait and cannot enjoy right away. For the little piece I tried it did have a good taste. Now I wonder how old are the cakes too? Wonder if they actually make something in house.

Yelp
Amazing place! The cakes are so detailed and beautiful. Everything tastes great too! Love that they have little to go cakes like tiramisu and creme brûlée. Really delicious! Tried the matcha cake shown in the pic. Great flavor and not too heavy.

Yelp
Cakes are of average quality. However, the attitudes and customer service of this place is among the worst I've seen. Middle-aged lady who's supposedly the manager there is extremely rude and impossible to communicate effectively. Cakes are also a bit overpriced. According to my friends who have worked there, employees are treated and paid poorly. Unpaid training and hours worked over scheduled hours. Employees often don't get to keep their tips. Fraud!

Yelp
Cute but taste is okay. I guess because there are so many bakeries around that is good around the location. I think it is still pretty decent.

Yelp
Jungle cafe has perfected the cutesy cutesy little pastries that I would love to serve and photograph with my girlfriends. However, that is about as much as I would do with them. We ordered the creme brulee which was ok. It was also frozen in the middle. I've never had frozen creme brulee. In fact I would be doing creme brulee a diservice by continuing to suggest what I just ate was in fact that. The black forest cake came in an excellent presentation with all the right textures but lacking all the flavors. It was tasteless. They have plenty more cutesy pastries to choose from, I would probably be duped into trying or at least taking a selfie with. I know better now though.

Yelp
TL;DR - Decent cake, bad staff attitude. I will go somewhere else where the staff don't kick me out because they're too lazy to maintain their posted store hours. Long version: We went into Jungle Cafe at 8:25PM and was informed that they are closing at 9PM. I remember the exact time because my friend then said 35 min. is plenty of time for a few bites and he liked the place, so we ordered 3 pieces of cake and sat down. Not long after the cakes arrived, a pimply chinese waitress marched to our table and announced that she wants to take the plates our cake arrived on to wash them, as the store is closing - although she could clearly see that I had a fork in my hand and still working on my cake. I looked at my watch and it was 8:42PM (they close at 9PM on weekends). Realizing that my friend was upset as he loudly told her that she will get the plates before the closing time, I hurriedly finished the cake and we left the store feeling unwelcomed.
