This shop is so cool—I always have to stop in to find a special personalized gift or unique antique. I recently attended the mono printing workshop and it was SO much fun! I want to go back and take every single one. The workshops are perfect for a fun night with friends, a creative date night, or even solo if you’re looking to build your artistic skills.

If I could give this shop 10 Stars I would. The staff are amazing. Jenny Kay's art is beautiful. Melissa stamp to custom stamp for me. And Patty at the desk was so so helpful. This is my favorite store in San luis. I love that they have all kinds of old stuff that lets me create my own art as well. Cannot recommend the store highly enough. Whether you are into art or not. Everything here is just so interesting.

First discovered Junkgirls in Cambria years ago and visited the shop in SLO just as they were opening their workshop space. Entering the store feels like being welcomed home by family - Melissa and Jenny are so friendly, attentive and genuine. I live in Orange County so can't wait to get back and take a workshop or two. Can't recommend more highly.

Spent the last 8 days on a magical roadtrip with my daughter, from Ocean Beach, CA to Bellingham, WA and when we walked into JunkGirls in San Luis Obispo, we felt like we were H🩵ME!!! From the moment you step through the door, the energy is downright delicious- front to back! A treasure hunt of upcycled gems, progressive design, and sentimental trinkets! You can't help but feel a little FOMO when you get back on the road! Pricing is spot on - true value for your dime! Customer Service is off the charts. One of the owner / artist was working the floor with a contagious smile & shared humble insight about their creative/healing journey; the evolution of JunkGirls! In my next lifetime, as a SLO local, JunkGirls will be my go-to for thoughtful gifts, guilty pleasures, and random retro decor. I've got Sundance/Anthropology taste but lucky for me, a JunkGirls budget. MamaJuJu Love Road Trip * Summer of 2025

Looking for an excellent gift, no matter the occasion? Want to spice up your life with some cool decorations and vintage memorabilia? You need to come check out Junkgirls downtown. This shop is conveniently located across the street from Giuseppe‘s and the Mission Plaza, right next-door to McConnell‘s ice cream. on your next visit downtown be sure to take a swing through and pick up some new items. I love the way they refurbish items and make great uses out of them. Make sure to check out this happenin’ spot!

Not only is this such a cool unique shop, the Junkgirls team is the epitome of hospitality! I took the monoprinting class with Melissa and it was such a fun experience! Learning something new can be intimidating, but Melissa encouraged us to experiment with the medium and just enjoy the process. I learned so much and ended up with some cool pieces of art too!

What an awesome shop and experience! We met the owners Jenny and Melissa who were so helpful and kind. Really cool items you won’t find anywhere else!

Yelp
I really like this cute special store. 1) Decor is interesting 2) They took some junk or old stuff and re-purpose it to some thing very cute or useful. Need to post photos to show 3) They also have some handpaint water color card, very cute. 4) Some SLO product with SLO there. 5) Owner/employees are super friendly

Yelp
I visit every chance I get. Always a new vintage treasure and something unique for a gift or decoration. I feel inspired and happy. My favorite SLO store by a mile!

Yelp
Such a cool place! I loved all the antique-looking things, especially the stamps. The SLO jewelry was so cool, I wanted to buy all the chains and bracelets. It was cute to see old things and newer things. Definitely a store to slowly browse through- the staff was so sweet!

Yelp
This shop is unique in what they sell. Items made from repurposed materials, books, electrical hardware and other junk. They definitely turned junk into treasures. My wife was looking for a ring she wanted and as she did, I noticed an area with dog items. I was drawn to a section with tags for a dog collar. A woman who worked there came up to me and explained how they could personalize the tag with a metal stamp. She said it was possible to stamp it while I waited. I told her it was going to be a small surprise for my wife. So she did her magic and got the woman who does the stamping to imprint the word "Boo" on the tag. That's my wife's nickname for our aging cocker spaniel. Long story short, they helped me get a small treasure for my wife and Teddy, her Boo, is wearing his new tag from Junk Girls. Thank you for making our time in your shop magical.

Yelp
They have some cool, fairly-priced things, but they also have a lot of strange ~art~. It's very cool to walk around in but we didn't spend long.

Yelp
Super cute little shop with all types of unique curios, from marketable silver rings and goin stamping to cutlery ... on and on, turn a corner and boom, this thing you didn't know you wanted or needed? It's there! Friendly service and a fun time to browse!

Yelp
Wow, Junk Girls definitely is worth the hype! Melissa and Jenny are some of the most creative minds when it comes to repurposing "junk." In this store, you can find all sorts of unique treasures that are one-of-a-kind and beautiful. I was curious about how they created their custom products. Melissa graciously let me sit and watch as she put together an adorable custom ice cream spoon. They stamp the products right there in the storefront, so you can watch your creation come to life. The end products are so heartfelt and personal that I have to go back for some holiday gifts.

Yelp
Absolutely a gem of a shop. Bought a great book, a pure copper pulley, and a butterfly puzzle. Really good vintage entwined with modern trinket. Nice staff.
google avatar

Patricia A.

Yelp
What an amazing place to shop for unique items. Love all the creativity of the treasures that are found in this place. Everywhere you look you find something that has been given new life and purpose. Some of the items found in this store brought me back to my childhood and brought a smile remembering how they were used in days gone by. Prices are reasonable considering the unique items you'll get. Come and explore, shop for yourself, or find that perfect gift for that special person. To the artist, keep creating, your making wonderful and amazing treasures for others to enjoy.

Yelp
I purchased buttons & a necklace from here. The selection of items is very unique! Very friendly & kind staff

Yelp
So cool to find individualization and personalization in this age of mass production. Upcycle, recycle, and bicyle here to view these individual items fashioned from repurposed goods that elevate junk to the level of art. Housed in the former deli space downstairs from the new mammoth and not yet opened SLO Hotel, this brick walled beauty now offers a retrospective of re-envisioned consumer goods. Get your name engraved on a spoon reincarnated as a piece of jewelry or your favorite saying emblazoned on a new old tag. You will be glad that you got to be a part of the creative process and enjoy the item of your choice even more. Also the fresh takes on vintage goods transformed into lamps, vases, and jewelry cries out to be taken home and ensconced in a cozy, hip pad.

Yelp
This is a super cool store with awesome items, and a ton of them. There's something for everyone here with prices ranging from a few dollars to a few thousand. Great store, and friendly owners.
google avatar

Nuvea C.

Yelp
Charming, uplifting and quirky. Perfect. The gals behind the counter were friendly and welcoming. Lots of super cute unusual gifts.

Yelp
Handmade local items, customized in house at your requested. Items for all tastes. Dont miss this. Great momentos for your trip.

Yelp
An eclectic shop of awesome things. I stopped in for just a moment and perused around. They have a wide array of items ranging from antique household stuff, art pieces, handcrafted jewelry, toys and games, fun books, and I don't even know how to describe some of the other things. If you need a unique gift for someone, check here. I can't wait to go back again.
google avatar

Rebekah B.

Yelp
What can I say about Junk Girls? Well, amazing, awesome, and unique begin to describe it, but it's so much more than that. It's the most fun, funky, eclectic, really one-of-a-kind place I've shopped in. It's full of the heart and soul of its owner. My 16 year old granddaughter couldn't get enough of it, which pretty much says it all, but it has something for everyone. We can't wait to come back! Thank you, Junk Girls!
google avatar

Kait B.

Yelp
Pretend like I don't have grubby little hobbit fingers for a moment and appreciate this beautiful ring the Junk Girls made me! I was so happy to learn that they were open until 8pm on Friday nights and I went straight after work. I knew I wanted a custom spoon ring the gals helped me pick out the perfect spoon and were so accommodating to my very specific design request. It was an absolute blast watching Melissa bend and shape the ring for my finger, and Diane was so kind and helpful in assisting in the design. Such a great experience, I love this shop and can't recommend it enough for anyone looking for something unique and funky! Thank you Junk Girls!

Yelp
Nice items but everything is way overpriced. A nice place to look at but too expensive.

Yelp
Melissa is so amazing! She made (And Donated!) custom keychains for the track & field seniors at Paso Robles High School to be added to their tribute baskets to honor them for losing their last season of their high school career. She was so wonderful to work with as we came up with the design! Very sweet and easy to talk to. She's very talented and I recommend seeing her if you need custom items!!!
google avatar

Yelp
The Junk has moved to SLO! Woohoo! Although I miss their cute little location in Cambria, this is closer to me so I can visit a lot more often. Some of the junk looks like it came from the local thrift store or even from a local garbage can and some of it is definitely hand-crafted pieces of art. The fun is trying to go through it all and see what you can find and how you can repurpose it into something great. I'll be back. A lot!
google avatar

Yelp
Was at the lovely store over a year ago and purchased a stamped butter knife with the word "Well, butter my buns & call me a biscuit!" It makes me giggle every time I look at it. I wanted to get more for my children and friends but couldn't find it on the website. I sent an email asking if they still had them. Received a quick response saying Melissa would happily make as many as I wanted. It felt like I received them before I paid for them it was so quick. These ladies understand customer service! I can't wait to go and see their store again in a few months! Thank you Melissa!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Fun! Hip, great energy and a wonderful selection of repurposed junk. I picked up some floppy disc notepads and a gorgeous silverware ring. The artists are incredibly warm, welcoming, fun, relaxed. Great time to be had looking at wonderful pieces.

Yelp
It's not often you walk into a retail store and feel like you've just come home. Likewise, it's not often that you meet one of the owners and think--- if I lived here, we would be friends. This is that store. A pastiche walk thru your own past lives and childhood, perfectly curated and presented, this place is a must visit. Repurposed, up-cycled, whimsical, and purposeful--- Junk Girls has something for everyone. Thank God I live 200+ miles away.

Yelp
Loved this shop. Super unique and lots of different price points. Great ideas for custom gifts that they can make while you wait. Definitely coming back!

Yelp
Such a cute downtown Slo shop full of unique vintage and new items. Super friendly staff and we all enjoyed our visit to this fun and eclectic shop.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best, most unique places to visit in San Luis Obispo! Interesting, locally made art pieces as well as vintage curiosities. Plus, they allow dogs and even gave our boy some treats. Much appreciated!

Yelp
We love Junk Girls! We discovered this little shop a few years ago while in SLO. Now we stop in on any trip through town. We love wandering through and looking at all of the different, unique, and funky items. This latest trip's purchase was simply a fun candle and a Mother's Day card. This is a store not to be missed if you're in town.
google avatar

Yelp
This is the most interesting store I have ever been too. I absolutely loved it. The store is about 50/50 vintage and new items, but somehow they are seamlessly integrated and the store just flows. My husband and I spent well over two hours just looking around at the different items. We walked out with a 1960's vintage LA Dodgers button, and it made my whole trip. One lesson was learned though - if you find something you like, buy it right away. I went back the next day for something that had stuck in my mind, and it was gone the next day. I will be back to this store forsure, and will bring my family with me.

Terri L.

Yelp
WARNING! If you go to Junk Girls to get a gift... Buy two! Three times I have purchased a gift and ended up keeping it for myself! Such unique and fun things in this shop. Heading there next week for a shower gift... Wish me luck!

Donn M.

Yelp
This is one of the BEST shops in SLO County! Jenny & Melissa are not only super creative, but they have a great eye for cards, candles, games, and all sorts of gifts for friends and family of all ages - oh, and they are super friendly and welcoming. I saw this key chain and had Melissa customize it for me - and she did it on the spot! Every time I stop in there is some new treasure to discover!!
google avatar

Rick L.

Yelp
This was THE find in Cambria, though it's actually one of five or six worth-your-time shops. Junk Girls reimagine the everyday and castoffs. From ladles to high voltage insulators, there is something for everyone. Think Fixer Upper on HGTV. The women that run it are great, too.
google avatar

Gina C.

Yelp
This is my favorite shop in SLO!! Melissa and Jenny are the sweetest peeps you could ever run across. I have 2 of Jenny's master pieces and love her work. Our dogs have doggie tags custom made by Melissa.. if you are in the area you really should stop by and meet this dynamic duo...
google avatar

Dori R.

Yelp
Super cute store and staff very nice. Finding this shop was a highlight to our visit to SLO. Would definitely recommend. You can find a range of prices and there are so many unique finds. Love!
google avatar

Erica F.

Yelp
I love it here!!! This place is not only amazing, but Melissa and Jenny are some of the most talented artists we have come across. They are also so passionate in what they do, and it shows in their artwork. This shop is so fun to walk through. There are large art pieces available, along with handmade jewelry and trinkets. You can even have some of the jewelry pieces personalized. My husband bought me a really cool metal/leather bracelet last year that I love. We also picked up a large Edison bulb art piece last year that now hangs in our living room. It has become a conversation piece and we get compliments from everyone on it. The best part is knowing the story and love that went into making the piece....and this is one of the reasons Junkgirls is so very special. When in Cambria, make sure to stop by this shop! You will be so happy you did. :-)

Yelp
The women in my family has a thing for antique shops, so when we found ourselves in Cambria (aka the cutest little town filled with a BUNCH of antique shops) with such little time, yelp guided me to Junk Girls. The store's location is kind of interesting; I followed the other yelpers' advice and went through a store that was displayed on the street (also a cute little shop) and found myself in a small garden. The garden was surrounded by a bunch of small shops, and Junk Girls just so happened to be one of them. It was kind of a cool little journey to get there since you discover new shops and get to see the garden along the way, but if youre one of those that just like to cut to the chase, you can get to Junk Girls through the back door through the parking lot. The store is incredibly small but full of unique little treasures. They take these things that people consider "junk" and remake them into something beautiful. I love that sort of thing, so I was extremely excited while looking around. There are a bunch of things such as forks that are stamped, unique decor, etc, but the place that caught my eye was in the room past the counter. In the room is a wall full of trinkets, where you can customize your own bracelet, necklace or keychain :) My sister and I went to town! I decided on making my own bracelet with a leather band and she decided on a necklace. Unfortunately, the person that does the stamping wasnt in that day and that was our last day in the area. The worker said that they ship for $2.95, so we agreed. Now I live in Hawaii and was visiting my family that lives in California, so I had asked if they would ship it to Hawaii since I wasnt sure when it would get done and I was leaving the following week. She didnt think they did but had said that the stamper would be in the following day and she'd get it shipped out to us ASAP. Got our custom jewelry in the mail a few days later! :) Yayyyyyy! And they came out beautiful! We couldn't have been happier. Overall: -The store: super small but full of wonder! Totally different vibe. Very rustic feel to it. Easy to navigate throughout the store. -Location/parking: Can be kind of tricky, but like I said, there is a way straight from the parking lot. Plenty of parking available in the lot or there is street parking. -Items: Very unique things! My sister and I were super happy with the result. :) -Convenient shipping and super cheap The Bleh: -The salesperson didnt really pay much attention to me upon entering the store, but was helpful while checking out. -Price: Kind of pricey: $25 for each of the necklace and bracelet. I think it may have been about the same price for non-customized ones, so you may as well make it your own and get one made! They apparently have an etsy, but when I get back to Cambria ill be sure to visit their shop again :)

Yelp
The Junk Girls are some of the most creative and kindest souls pretty much ever! Support their art, browse their new store in SLO *so glad they moved!!* and have a chat, you will surely have a lovely time! Melissa made us the sweetest customized tags for my business and puppy! Pictures attached! Love Junk girls will definitely be purchasing more of their art and vintage finds!!

Yelp
Super fun store! Great ideas and service was awesome. Love the personalized silverware engraving and the artist was a delight.

Yelp
For their specific category of business, they exceed expectations. A must see. Treasures to be found, so spend the time to look around.

Yelp
My wife and I first found the Junk Girls when we came to look for a wedding venue almost 3 years ago. The Junk Girls had only been open a week or two at that point. Needless to say we fell in love with the shop and the owners Melissa and Jenny. Visiting the Junk Girls is now a part of every visit to Cambria as we shop for ourselves, our friends, and our family. They always have amazing finds, treasures, art, and amazing candles! Stop in at this amazing shop and be inspired by great people and fantastic Junk!

Yelp
I love the look of the new location and it's next to other shops I go to so very convenient. A great place to get personalized gifts, and the girls are very friendly. Thanks for my customized license plate tags which I will make into earrings.

Michelle R.

Yelp
Everything about this shop is fun! Creative and unique items for all type of people you could be shopping for - you will not be disappointed. Also, Melissa and Jenny are kind, professional and innovative.

Yelp
Made a wonderful piece while we waited! In fact--- two!! Very friendly, helpful service. Such talented artisans!

Yelp
Wow, what an awesome store in SLO! I went in here for the first time recently and was surprised to find the awesome things that this store has for sale. It showcases the work of a lot of artists who repurpose so-called "junk" into works of art. I particularly liked the way in which several artists turned old objects into lamps, and there were plenty of examples of this throughout the store. In the back, there are many parts being sold so that you too can become an artist. I'm glad that stores like this exist that help to show people that true artistic potential lies in many varied and diverse places in life.
google avatar

Kim L.

Yelp
This place is a gem and so are the owners!! They have the most unique items you will ever find. Both Melissa and Jenny are passionate about making fun and useful items out of someone else's junk. I absolutely LOVE this place!!
google avatar

Jackie J.

Yelp
This place is wonderful and fun! They have charms, spoons, and keychains all from recycled metals that they will custom stamp for you. I got two beautiful charms with custom stamped words and 2 chain for $20. ($10 each) No extra charge for how many words, metal stamps, or designs you want to add or use! I was able to make a beautiful custom gift for my best friend, exactly how I wanted it because of how helpful, flexible, and creative they were. So nice and perfect for special gifts! You rock, Melissa!
google avatar

Sonya B.

Yelp
This place can be difficult to find but it's worth the hunt. Both guys and gals have fun here shopping their fun mix of repurposed items for sale and getting great DIY ideas. Nice selection and price range. The junk girls have enthusiasm and clearly enjoy what they do and you will too.

Allan J.

Yelp
highly recommend stop for anyone visiting SLO. One of a kind creations and creative ideas galore. In beautiful historic building downtown near the mission. Warm and welcoming owners and staff.

Yelp
Been here 3 times in less than a month, and I live almost an hour away. Great store and I wish I had the creative energy to put it to use. Everyone I walk in I want to buy it all, but I don't know what to do wit it. Next time...I will have a plan.
