What a great place. Top shelf brews. Jenna was the nicest! She's such a sweetheart. Atmosphere kicks butt, the free parking was good. Tons of merch. Just all around great place to visit.

Stopped here to try some of their unique beers. They don't have flights but can get a 4oz of whatever and go from there. I had Green Fluff which is a Golden Ale with notes of Pistachio, Pineapple and Marshmallow. And Little Sticky a Sour with hits of Marshmallow, Peach and Strawberry. Also tried Church Giggles another Sour with Cherry, Vanilla and Graham Cracker. Very friendly staff. Enjoyed my stop. You can also order food from a neighboring restaurant and when it's ready they'll text you, it's a short walk to pick up and bring back to enjoy.

We had a great time at Junkyard Brewing. The Staff were very nice and helpful, especially after my husband clumsily knocked his nearly full beer over! They have a great beer selection and even some THC products (to be consumed off premise). We got lucky and caught the last day of end of summer sale and even snagged a T-shirt at 40% off .

Date night: pull up for quality drafts on the Junkyard Brewing patio and then order all of the delicious things for pickup from Sol Avenue Kitchen next door. Brews are quality. Great IPA and sour options. Free popcorn and lots open air. The patio is dog friendly. Staff was super friendly and attentive. We LOVED the make your own postcard craft station! Ten out of ten, we can’t wait to come back again!!

Stopped in with a friend for a late night pint while visiting Fargo. First visit, won't be the last! A great selection of beers, very friendly staff, excellent atmosphere including the outdoor patio and live music (fantastic guitar player, btw)! I had the Florida Squeeze, Arcade Summer and Galactic Falconer; each tasty and delicious in their own way. Great vibe, 5 outta 5...would do again!

Google
Wow, what a great Harvest Host location! We were there mid-week and the place was hopping. The staff were super friendly and helpful. What a variety of great beers. They do not have food service, however there is a very good restaurant next door and we were told that we were free to order in food from anywhere. The parking area was gravel and level. Note that the entrance to the parking area is a standard city curb-cut and that big rigs may struggle a bit to get in.

I was impressed with the quality of beer here. The bartender was also friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. Prices were reasonable. Nice ambiance inside.

Very good beer. Excellent food from Sol next door

Yelp
Great atmosphere, great beer, great vibe. Excellent service. Kid friendly. Love their 'make a postcard' station where you use their beer label stickers and make a postcard and they mail for you.

Yelp
This brewery has decent parking, which I always appreciate. I was able to find space to sit even during a busy part of a Saturday. Staff was attentive and helpful. Beer selection is good and covers a wide variety of options. I liked every beer I had there. I left my tab open when I got up to pee, so they double-charged me for my first round. I didn't notice until a few days later when I was at home and looking at my accounts. I get why they did this, but it was disappointing.

Yelp
First off service was so good. We brought our dogs in and sat down in the corner. One of the staff checked on us frequently and helped with a few things I was looking for. The beer was very good. They have a really cool area you can take old sticker beer labels and make postcards they will send out for you. That is one of the most unique things I have seen at a brewery. We went on the Fourth of July and the restaurant next door unfortunately wasn't open. We loved our experience and will go again if we are in the area.

Yelp
I e had beer from these guys plenty of times at bottle shares and beer festivals.. but today was the first time visiting the brewery. Cool little spot in a small town on the border of North Dakota and Minnesota. Cool artwork inside and outside. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside and two bars.. one on either side. Lots of choices on tap and in cans and bottles. They also make and sell CBD products (not for onsite consumption). The guys and gals working the bar were great! Fast and efficient, friendly and helpful... and there's free popcorn!

Yelp
One of the best breweries in Minnesota, if not the best! There isn't much that they don't absolutely crush! They have their flagship brews, but their rotation of beers and frequency is unmatched. There is a board that shows you what is coming out next. I'm in this area every 2 weeks from the Twin Cities for business and they always have new beers, amazing! They just don't brew anything that blows. I'm not sure who their Brewmaster is, but he or she should be cloned.

Yelp
My inaugural Junkyard visit was my last stop of my Thursday brewery tour so I was quite chatty and beertender Tyler was more than patient and accommodating with me. I was asked several people what they were drinking to which Tyler would say "I told you, you can sample anything!". As a fan of sours I opted for the Melting Skulls. I had three more beers that were all just as delicious! The very well balanced Basket Weaver IPA, Nutty Little Fella and Lou Dogg Hefe. I really liked the tap room, so spacious w garage doors open and the fun murals!! Parking was a breeze at the large lot across the street. They have a nice big patio out front. Tyler was friendly and took great care of me, a few other staff I talked to were also kind and helpful. Thanks Junkyard for the delicious and fun first visit. Cheers!

Beer is great, spot is super cool and food next door is delicious. Pets welcome on patio.

Yelp
While in Fargo-Moorhead for Rare Beer Picnic, I made sure to get out of bed to join other craft beer nerds for the release of Double Barrel Aged King Size and Double Barrel Aged Midnight Spider at Junkyard Brewing. Rather than getting the bottles and running back to the hotel, I chose to sit and enjoy myself with a few half pours of their amazing beers in addition to chomping down a bigger plate of popcorn that I probably needed. Double Barrel Aged King Size: A Peanut Stout aged in two consecutive sets of freshly dumped Willet bourbon barrels, and then transferred to a new set of freshly dumped Willet bourbon barrels. Through the double barrel aging I get a lot of barrel character including licorice, oak, and bitter chocolate that plays well with the roasted nut flavors that are strong in the non-barrel aged version. King Size is my favorite PB Stout, and this brought out a TON of complex flavors not in the OG. Double Barrel Aged Midnight Spider: An Imperial Stout double barrel aged in the same manner as DBA King Size. The base stout was brewed with roasted barley and conditioned on cocoa nibs, black walnuts, and marshmallow. The base beer is tasty in its own right, but the aging brings out the Rocky Road Ice Cream feel even more with some maple, oak, and vanilla flavors accentuated. Mild bitterness shown more - think dark bakers chocolate and roasted nut.  Wicked Awesome Slurry: An Imperial Double IPA hopped with Eureka and El Dorado. High haze, fluffy body / mouthfeel from Wheat additions, and high tropical juice and bitterness. The name doesn't lie - this is some wicked awesome slurry of dankness and citrus. _____________________

Yelp
Love this place...if I lived in Fargo/Moorhead, you would find me there every weekend! Ambiance is awesome...can sit indoor or out on the patio. Beer selections were plentiful, but was a little disappointed that there weren't a few more for a place built around beer tasting. Lines for beer weren't too long, but wait staff wasn't there quickest (but no complaints).

Yelp
We decided to stop here because I was intrigued by a beer that Junkyard had just released called "Gooey Lewis and The Brews", which was some sort of jelly and granola-inspired sour. We packed up the pups and headed to an outside table. The brewery itself is very small and off a major road, but the total ambiance was very cool and I loved the artwork on the walls. They don't do flight pairings but they do offer half pours, so I got a bunch of sours for me and a few "regular beers" for hubby. The beers were delicious! I really loved their Icee-inspired sours. I bought a few crowlers to go and they were very decently priced. I think they were about $7 or $8 each. The staff were also very friendly and the bathrooms were clean.

Stephen J.

Yelp
The beer was excellent. We had the Lou Dogg which is a Hefeweizen & a Green Fluff. The Green Fluff was sweet & fruity! They had popcorn, board games & a good vibe! The bar tender was super friendly and helpful in selecting the perfect brew! Their merch is top notch. A great place to gather or just drop in for a beer. This is one harvest host stop we will make again!

William D.

Yelp
Great vibe. Loved the beer, their Czech Pilsner is outstanding! While they do not serve food (other than fresh hot and free popcorn), they share a building with Sol Ave. and you can walk next door and get terrific food, or bring food, or have it delivered. Staff are knowledgeable and super friendly. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Their Dive Bar NE IPA is amazing. Reminding me of Tree House's Haze in MA. Staff was super helpful too.

Yelp
We stopped in for late lunch. Nice ambience. Nice t-shirts for souvenirs. Great service. Can order food from next door restaurant.

Yelp
Junkyard is an excellent brewery in which I tried several of their beers and found so much satisfaction from them. Their fruited sours are very good. I had a blueberry fruited sour which was very good and the Slurpee/Icee version of beer was also a lot of fun to drink. I've also had an IPA. A New England one, one involving game codes in the title which was very tasty and a very enjoyable beer to drink. Junkyard is a solid brewery providing beer that helps you kick back and relax!

Yelp
Junkyard is an amazing brewery! I first was introduced to Junkyard at a beer festival in Minneapolis. They distribute their beers to multiple locations in the twin cities. Saturday Things is my personal favorite, but you really can't go wrong with anything! Happy drinking!
google avatar

Lori B.

Yelp
My husband likes lagers and I like frothy. We both found drinks we liked! Found this gem through the Harvest Hosts program.
google avatar

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Great atmosphere on a Saturday. Beer was good. There were games to play and cards. Families welcome.
google avatar

Yelp
Fruit punch seltzer is the best I've ever had! Also the popcorn is absolutely delicious!!

Yelp
We are excited to step foot into Junkyard! We really like what they brew up. We get select beers when they deliver to the cities from Moorhead. Today we got one we have had our eye on, the Queens of the Potluck, an ambrosia flavor beer. We stopped in today and they had it, but they were running low. So SCORE for us!
google avatar

Erica K.

Yelp
Junkyard brewery is not selling growlers as of December 30th so my husband decided we needed a short road trip to Moorehead from St. Paul. After getting off work grabbing a change of clothes and hitting the road, we arrived 3.5 hours later. I would definitely do it again! So far we've had Guava Passionfruit Super Slup, Galactic Peach and Technicolor Dream Wolf. They are all great! We got an empty growler (only fill on Sundays) and 4 crowlers, to enjoy at home. The staff is friendly, helpful and enjoyable to chat with. They had live music at a perfect level, where you could actually still hear the people talking. Shirts are not overpriced, for once at a brewery; and the atmosphere is very comfortable, like being in your favorite bar, not a cold steel building. We will definitely be coming back! Just not as often as we'd like, cuz the drive :-(

Yelp
Fargo embargo On sales with Johnny O I like their beers, though This place seems to get the most Yelp love of any of the four breweries in the Fargo-Moorhead area. I can see why. Only had two beers, one on premises and one off. Consumed the double IPA Rakau on premises. High ABV, high IBU. First sip was good, but wasn't really overwhelmed by the hoppiness. It is a beer that kind of grows on you the more you drink it until you are punch drunk in love. It sneakily packs a punch. Saw that they had crowlers for sale, but only three varieties and no Rakau. Got the single IPA for take out. By the time I was done with the Rakau, I decided I needed more of this beer in my life but had other items on my agenda. Checked the website after leaving and saw that they do not open until 4 on Sundays. Not planning on being in the area at that time, decided to go back and get a Growler of it. They were pretty packed around 7 with a live band in full swing, but unfortunately no growler sales on any day other than Sunday. Major bummer. Seems odd that Sunday is the only day you can get a growler. I will have to send an emissary to Fargo to go on a Sunday for me to obtain the forbidden fruit. Junkyard is actually on the MN side of the river, but it has some seriously archaic trade restrictions.

Yelp
Absolutely favorite brewery in the FM area. We love the funky stuff they brew and it tends to be some of our favorites. Huge fan of the super slurp and almost all of their sours. They recently got rid of growlers and started canning beer instead. They keep up to date with their canning to what they have on tap really well. It does get a little packed on Friday and Saturday nights, but the bartenders handle crowds well. The summer months are my favorite at junkyard when they open up the large garage doors and have live music, a food truck, and lets not forget, the best beer in town. They are kid friendly and have a ton of games to play as well. I am almost positive they have live music every single night as well.
google avatar

Emily L.

Yelp
We visited Junkyard during an epic road trip and wanted to taste a few different beers. Because of Covid, they were only selling crowlers to go (which was fine by us!) We left with 8 different beers, many with a Pulp Fiction theme. The selection varied from sours to fruit punches to IPAs to ambers to pilsners. We really enjoyed their hazy IPA and even got a souvenir glass to remember them by! Looks like a great spot to hangout, watch some sports, drink some great beers, and have fun. Hope they get opened for seating soon!
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
Junkyard is the brewery of Moorhead. Their beer is exciting, experimental, and most importantly delicious. Their expansion has created a lot more seating which has allowed us to bring a pack of friends with us. We always stop by when we're in town, and if we're nostalgic, we're able to grab crowlers in St. Paul!
google avatar

Ross H.

Yelp
Great startup brewery in a terrible location. I had the experimental (raspberry) sour, which I loved. Then the pbj stout, which was tasty, but a terrible idea on a 90° day. Ended with an amber wheat ale which is a great lighter beer with a nice malty flav. Great spot to visit every week or two to try what's new. They keep a good rotation going. They serve beer in half pints, which I think should be common sense - but it's rare. Great way to run the gamut of options. No food served but, oh look at taco truck! Only downside is the patio location. The general location itself is fine. But putting the patio on the driveway facing the concrete streets and shitty apartments/boat sales is a buzzkill. Ideally this would be a fenced in backyard vibe.

John M.

Yelp
Junkyard has done a great job both in setting up their taproom but also all of the beer varieties they've developed. There was just something very comfortable about hanging out at Junkyard and having a beer. They have the bar that sets about 8 or so people, a few high top cocktail tables, a big booth and then several long tables with 6-8 chairs. I look forward to stopping by when the temperature warms up and they can roll up those garage doors. And by the way, the beer tastes excellent as well.
google avatar

Kevin A.

Yelp
Great staff - great beers! AJ who bartended was great- I think I ordered them all- haha

Greg M.

Yelp
Beer menu is great! Staff very helpful. We didn't try the food from next door. Very casual.
google avatar

Zach W.

Yelp
Great beer and great atmosphere! Friendly staff and a large selection for a smaller brewery. I highly recommend to anyone in the area!
google avatar

Ari S.

Yelp
Really good place! I went with my brother and his gf (both vegans) and they got an IPA (topped off with the same thing just put through a slushy machine of some sort) - they liked what they had. I got the coffee on tap. Nitro cold brew. It was delicious! Smoothest coffee I think I've ever had. And it's really nice that they have something on tap for those of us who may not want alcohol or prefer something different (I'm just not a beer person). We sat and had popcorn and played cards for an hour and it was so nice and relaxing! Also dogs are allowed outside on their patio which is awesome.
google avatar

Alan F.

Yelp
Junkyard's Taproom was surprisingly energetic for a Tuesday night. The band was full of dreadlocked goodness. I believe they are called the Cropdusters. It is quite the intimate setting with cool artwork and humorous doodles all around. These brewers are creating some fantastic craft beers. Coal Miner's Daughter Imperial Stout and Simcoe IPA are exceptional. I'm a Southern California beer snob who drinks Stone, Ballast Point, Green Flash, Modern Times and much more. I didn't expect Junkyard to match such celebrated breweries, but it did. Coal Miner's Daughter needs national distribution. The guys working the taps were knowledgable and cool. My group sampled the entire beer menu at least once. Extremely solid across the board. For all you locals looking to enjoy great beer at a lively, rockin hangout, this is your destination.
google avatar

Jessica K.

Yelp
Checking out the new joints Moorhead has to offer. Enjoying this place for the decor and openness. Also, a good mix of music playing. Drinking up the Super Slurp - yum!
google avatar

Gia R.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of all the locals breweries but secretly, Junkyard is my favorite. It also doesn't hurt that it's in Moorhead and within easy walking distance from my house. Basically, I don't have a bad thing to say about this place. The staff here are super friendly, the beers are delicious and the ambiance is super chill. They don't have food on a regular basis, but you can order or bring in whatever you wish. Also, the popcorn here is RIDICULOUSLY good. The rotating selection of beers changes weekly and is conveniently available in full and half pints. My personal favorites are the Simcoe and Coachgun IPA. They feature a wide variety of live music (almost every night) which creates a fun environment for a happy hour, date night or just to grab a drink and relax. Junkyard undoubtedly has my stamp of approval. Cheers! Pro tip: there is a top-notch geocache approximately 64 feet from the front door. (GC5ZQT7, For The Love of Hops)

Yelp
Where to start with this place. In my opinion they are the best brewery in the area. They just expanded so finding a seat shouldn't be an issue. Amazing staff and overall just a great place to spend some time. The Super Slurp is the beer that got me into sours, try it you will not be disappointed. Live music every night and have usually have a food truck. Go here.
google avatar

Rob N.

Yelp
Nice local hangout. Their beer selection is off the wall (experimental), as the owner states. But it is nice to see a local brewer that is trying new flavors. Their Dark and Malty Peanut and Jelly Stout is one I have not had before.
google avatar

Stacy K.

Yelp
Came here for their tapping of the Peanut Butter Bandit, which was paired with a Reese's peanut butter cup, and it was absolutely delicious! The weather was sunny and warm, which made it perfect for sitting outside. Junkyard has a chalk board set up that has a list of their available brews, which are color coded on the type of beer (hoppy/IPA, dark, etc.), cost per size, and alcohol %. They also had a local acoustic singer performing and La Unica, a Mexican grocery/market, set up in there that was selling authentic tacos, tamales, and chips & salsa, which was a great touch. Free popcorn as well, and they encourage you to bring in food from other restaurants to eat and drink. Love this place!
google avatar

Chad S.

Yelp
The beer is always fantastic, there's always something new to try, and the vibe is great. I love all of the NE style IPA's thev'e been producing lately and the Shake-O-Matic series is top notch. Of the 140+ breweries I've been to, Junkyard is easily top 10.
google avatar

Travis L.

Yelp
Trendy local hang out. Micro brews and the tap list changes often. The staff is really friendly and in the summer the garage doors open up and you can sit outside.
google avatar

Ryan L.

Yelp
A great place for a pint of beer! Very cool vibe when you walk in the door. Big glass garage doors in the front of the place give a bright and open feel. A mix of chairs adds to the feel of a friendly and laid-back atmosphere. Now, to the ale! Great beers all around. They have a beautiful mix of beers to chose from...stouts and porters, ales and hoppy beers, and even fruity ones to pick! I had the Old Red Lion (English Pale Ale) and the Coal Miner's Daughter (Imperial Stout). Two thumbs up to both...but an extra thumb to the stout. Incredibly smooth and drinkable -- with an 8% alcohol content it's a kicker too! Definitely will be back for more!
google avatar

Iris H.

Yelp
A really fun brewery with changing taps every week! They have artwork all on the walls, and continue to expand their taproom each time I go. Sadly, the peanut butter porter was tapped out and wasn't available for a couple weeks, but I was able to try the Top Gorilla which had a great, classic Belgian flavor profile. They don't serve food but they do have delicious popcorn they do fresh in their popcorn maker, as well as fun local musical artists each night. And on a clear evening, you'll get to see the moon from a guy who sets up telescopes right outside the entrance. It's a great brewery and I can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Tim L.

Yelp
Super cozy taproom. It almost feels like a coffee shop. Great for a wintertime. I had the coal miners daughter stout. Very yummy. Had a great rich taste. I don't know much about beer so I can't pinpoint the notes, only that I liked it. That always have new stuff to try to which is cool.
google avatar

Kate K.

Yelp
Ok so I'm not anywhere near an expert when it comes to craft beer, or have the best understanding for the vast flavor varieties one can brew... I admit this. I don't have the palate for it like avid lovers do either but one thing is for sure, I love beer and will give it a go to try them. This place has an awesome set up, free popcorn and cool vibe but damn son.... the beer..what went wrong? The candy van, strangers with candy, idk wtf it was called... holy lord my mouth was destroyed. Idk what kind of ingredients went into this but it was all over the board. My friends and I tried a small flight and there was one we found tolerable. Obviously personal preference plays a huge role here but even between 3 ppl, one of which is a beer connesuier of sorts... Said no bueno. The guys working that night didn't seem very happy either. Like monotone to the point that these three sentances would have been said in the same demeanor-- I just won a million dollars. I ran over my sister with a semi. Help, my pubes are on fire. lets just say this was NOT the place for me and my more simple taste buds. Me no likely.

Yelp
Though I am a non-drinker, Junkyard is STILL one of my favorite places in the world. The staff are not merely courteous but genuinely friendly. I usually bring painting supplies with me, and they always take an interest in what I'm painting. Frequent live music, DELICIOUS food truck offerings in the summer (try the Barbacoa from Pico!), and free popcorn make this a place where drinkers AND non-drinkers can feel welcome. My favorite part about Junkyard is the telescopes that are often on the patio during clement weather. Jay shares his knowledge and expertise as well as his telescopes to make stunning views of celestial bodies available to the community. (Seeing Saturn was a life-changing moment for me; I highly recommend it.) Junkyard is a true community space which hosts events and live music suitable for all ages. I have never seen anyone drunk at Junkyard; it's just not that kind of place. It's a place where people gather for fun, camaraderie, and moderate drinking. Oh, and the beer makes my beer-snob husband cry, "Mmmm, that's delicious!" so often, it almost makes me drink. ;-)
google avatar

Josh C.

Yelp
Straight to the point. Junkyard is wonderful. The taproom is nice and cozy and the staff is very nice and knowledgeable. If you want to feel at home and hangout with friends, junkyard is your spot. The live music every night is great, along with cheap merch, the food trucks and stargazing. 11/10 would recommend. Don't forget to grab some cans for home ! Cheers.
google avatar

Christopher S.

Yelp
Moorhead on the grow with a fantastic local beer brewery and tap house. Live music entertainment offered many nights of the week. Food trucks provide service. The beer is often experimental and unique. Staff is very informative. Cans, growlers and howlers offered.
google avatar

Dude R.

Yelp
There were about 8 or 10 beers to choose from the night we were there which seems like a slim selection for a brewery. Also, the staff seems grumpy and generally unpleasant. My wife asked for a sample of one of the beers and the bartender had an exasperated attitude about it. I understand there seems to be a belief that brewer tasting rooms aren't subject to the same customer service expectations as a more professional bar, but I disagree. I like smiles, pleases and thank yous, and they are in short supply at Junkyard. It would be a one star review if not for the cool atmosphere in an old service station with picnic tables in the parking lot, so 2 stars.

Eric W.

Yelp
Great brewery in Moorhead. Excellent beer with a lot of variety. Quality IPAs, Sours, and a great Kolsch in one visit. The atmosphere is really nice with the patio and the open garage doors to the taproom. Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
Best.Brewery.Ever. Constantly revolving delicious taps, slick can designs, unreal ambience, and awesome customer service. i can't think of a single dislike
