I would like to consider myself a food connoisseur per se. This was the best food I have ever had in Wichita. It was recommended by a gentleman named Greg who is a regular in our shop. I never knew the little restaurant was open, until he mentioned it. Me and my boss/owner shared fried ribs and fries, and a Mama's burger with sweet potatoes. The sweet potatoes were cooked to perfection. They were not to sweet, nor did they have too much cinnamon. The syrup from the sweet potatoes was just the right consistency. They were not over or undercooked, and very tender. The fries reminded me of the ones my mother used to make when I was younger. She would have a thick cut fry or a smaller cut fry. However, it goes, both were equally delicious. The ribs were as "I remember as a kid. The first time I tried them I was nine, and my uncle Arthur had cooked them. He always insinuated we try new things. They were floured, seasoned well, with a crust of perfection. They were a little tough but that's expected. It is a fried rib of course but once you got down to the tender part and the flavor, you'll finish it all. All items were delectable, but the Mama's Burger topped everything. This burger consisted of egg, bacon, cheese, a ground beef patty, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle. The burger was so good, that I did not need sauce to finish it. The bacon tasted like real bacon. Not that stuff that has been altered. I could have eaten it by itself. The egg was soft and hard fried, and the vegetables fresh. I do not think I have ever been impressed with anyone's food as I have this. To think it came from a small hole in the wall on 9th street. I will definitely be returning. I will also give a recommendation to anyone who ask about the food in the area. Thank you.
