We had a lovely first evening in Helsinki here, just around the corner from our hotel. It feels very historic in a beautiful building and they were filming something when we were there. We had salmon and potato soup starter followed by rainbow trout blini for mains - which we couldn't finish as they were substantial. The atmosphere is great and we got the feeling it's a well-known spot.

We enjoyed a fantastic bowl of lohikeitto (creamy salmon and potato soup) here during our February 2026 food tour with Jesse from Secret Food Tours Helsinki. The soup was rich, comforting, and perfectly seasoned - the kind of dish that warms you completely after a cold Helsinki day. Paired with a refreshing glass of Lonkero, it was a perfect balance of cozy and classic Finnish flavor. A wonderful historic spot worth visiting.

Dining between the locals We first passed the restaurant on our way to the hotel and loved the look of the business. So we booked a table and went, and I can tell you this is a must do if you’re in the area. The service was very friendly, the atmosphere was superb and the food was divine!!!

Ate here while visiting Helsinki from the UK, and recommended by our hotel. Great places to eat prices are reasonable, especially for the portion sizes you get food is excellent and top quality three different dishes were had in the group and all enjoyed. A good selection of drinks also. I really liked that place and thought the food was excellent 👌 Good atmosphere a live band was warming up for late evening entertainment. Staff were friendly, and polite with great service. Would visit again, and would 100% recommend for anyone wanting a local dining experience and local food.

This got recommended by Gemini and it was great. We had the lunch buffet. Veggie options good and food was very tasty. 15 euro for buffet and 10 for a pint. Seems like a local place so was very happy

Away from the tourist trap, this is an institution, I'm still not sure whether it's a pub, a concert hall or a restaurant or all three at the same time. A band was setting up for the evening time, it was filled with local yet not overly noisy and the food and service was very nice. Had to try the salmon soup and a langero, it was very tasty and the serving did fill me up.

Great service. Hot chocolate and dark rum to warm the cockles!Food and drink came out quickly. We had the salmon chowder and baked white fish. Very tasty. Nice atmosphere. The bonus of a live band playing too!

We went to Juttutupa for dinner near our hotel, as it is one of the oldest restaurants in Helsinki, with roots dating back to 1884, and it offered discounts for Citybox guests. Upon entering, we found the restaurant to be like a maze with many different areas, each with its own unique decor, such as relaxed bar and casual dining areas, fine dining areas, party areas, and private banquet areas, among others. We tried the venison, reindeer sausage, and salmon risotto. All the dishes were delicious. Highly recommended.

Charming restaurant in a nice stone building. Half of the building is the restaurant and the other half is a bar area. For dinner, there are some vegan/vegetarian options tofu and roasted root vegetables, potatoes, pea/tomato soup, rice, and salads. Fortunately, the night we were there they had a band, "Hill and Mondays", in the bar. Made for a nice place to sit for a drink after dinner. The place filled up as the band has quite a following.

Touristy place they insist on a tip which is not common in Europe, service was slow, pizza was OK. There are better places to eat at in Helsinki.

This is the oldest restaurant in Helsinki. My husband and I are staying near by so we stopped in to grab a drink. You order all drinks and food at the bar. The menus are in English and in Finnish. If you order food you will get a number to put at your table so they can bring out your order. My husband and I just ordered a drink. I got a local cider and he got a local IPA. It was expensive per US drink prices but not sure compared to Finnish standards. Overall the drinks and the ambiance was great. A band started to play while we enjoyed a drink during our time there. I can't comment on he food since we ate prior to coming here.

Touristy place as another yelper reviewed. My friend was interested in the live music, but we weren't super into the specific band that night so we left after dinner. I ordered the pizza that comes with proscuttio and rocket (arugula). I was a bit surprised that I had to ask for them to put on the proscuttio after cooking the pizza (and a heads up for others that you might want to ask them to do this) Service was fine.

Prompt courteous service, nice casual atmosphere, and good comfort food make this a great choice to eat lunch or dinner. No worries, English menus are readily available. I had the Beer Sausages with kraut, mashed potatoes, pickles and mustard. Very good. I'll definitely return!

Here you order at the bar and then they bring the food after. It was very good, I had a Caesar salad to begin and then a steak. I liked it a lot, I would go back. They have some good traditional Finnish options on the menu, and the staff was very nice and our food was brought out promptly. They were also open a bit later from what I remember, which is nice too.

Service is very good, food is nice but too salty for us! Burger is better than pizza!

Restaurant Juttutupa is a great place to have a beer after work, meet friends and enjoy good music. They have a great programme of live music from jazz to rock, even pop. Situated in one of the finest buildings of the national romanticism style designed by Karl Lindahl in 1908. They serve mainly traditional Finnish food: pyttipannu, meatballs, liver, salmon, etc. But you can have as well pasta or pizza. I strongly recommend their dessert called Suklaapommi (chocolate bomb) : Brownie, Dark chocolate Marquis, White chocolate Mousse and raspberry salad. CHOCODELICIOUS!!

When ever I get to Helsinki I make it a habit to get to this place for a few beers and some pizza. This place has a lot of history. I can just grab a beer and relax. I only ever had pizza, and it is good, but they do have some other items that look interesting. This is just a place that makes you feel at home. It is mostly frequented by locals, but I never felt out of place.

Amazing Finnish food classics, better than any other restaurant around; simultaneously, amazing pizza & burger - I claim the burgers are probably among the best ones you can get anywhere in Finland. The service is not always as nice as it could be, but then again, the place has been here for gazillion years, it kinda doesn't need overly-friendly service. It's a no-bullshit-great-food -place, not the other way around.

AMAZING PIZZA!!! I ordered a lactose free quattro fromaggio and it was the best I've had! And I've had it in Italy!!! Lovely personnel and just a great dinner choice ^.^* thank uuu!!

Wow. I was surprised by the dinner I had there! First of it thought I came to a bar but after a nice little walk in this labyrinth I found my self sitting in a nice table having really, really good dinner. Service 3.5/5 Food 4/5 Speed 4/5 Price/quality ratio 3.5/5 Atmosphere 4/5

A classic place with nice-ish interior, unfortunately horribly overpriced and with very rude staff.
