Juwita Cafe - Cooking Class

Even though i was alone, i was warmly welcomed for a cooking class. Kiki introduced me into (for me) new spices and authentic indonesian kitchen. The class was well prepared and the ingredients fresh. Kiki guided me through everything, letting me enjoy the full hands-on experience. The food tasted absolutly amazing and there was even enough to have a second portion for takeaway. I highly recommend the cooking class! Also I got the eat the freshest passionfruit i've ever had, straight from the tree in the backyard :) PS: vegetarian/vegan options are available too

It was a 2 hour experience that was worth every bit of the money. Heddy provided a wonderful Indonesian experience and we were able to learn 3 recipes that we intend to take home and share with others. Even better, we were able to enjoy them afterwards. If you’re in Lake Toba, this is a must! It was a highlight for our trip in Sumatra.

Wonderful cooking class with Heddy. I was solo and she made me very welcome. She is a fabulous teacher, and the food was fantastic. Highly recommend doing this class.

Enjoyed our cooking class very much! Heddy is a great teacher and cook, we made ikan pepes, rendang ayam and sambal goreng telor! Would definitely recommend doing this course! Enjoyed talking with Andrea about the organic produce of the spices. Great that you can take some organic Batak Pepper home to use there! I did a super fun cooking class with auntie Eti. The food turned out amazing! I’m so glad I have the recipes to try at home. I especially enjoyed making sambal fish with Andaliman peppers. The cafe also sells organic spices grown locally and fair trade, so I brought some back home!

We enjoyed Heddy's cooking skills and learned how to make two Indonesia dishes. You can choose how much you want to make. Beside the cooking, you will get to know the ingredients. After you have enjoyed the food, we received the recipe digitally and bought a few spices to make the recipes at home. We would definitely recommend the cooking class!

We had an amazing time at Juwita Cafe for a cooking class with Kiki. We were shown all the ingredients, used recent and traditional methods to cook 3 different meals. Afterwards, we chatted with Kiki while looking at the shop, and we learned a lot about Andaliman, how the local community grows it and their projects for the future. We were all the more happy to buy some spices !
