JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel (Bucharest, Romania) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel isn’t quite as large as its famous neighbor, the vast Palace of Parliament, but its imposing façade does make quite a statement. The hotel claims to have the most spacious rooms in the city, and with sizes starting at 35 square meters, they’re certainly not small." - Tablet Hotels

I’ve stayed at many Marriott properties around the world and this one was probably the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The hotel is grandiose and elegant while my room was well appointed and comfortable. The staff seemed genuinely interested when we conversed rather than going through the motions. I felt that they were genuinely interested in me and not just being polite. I left the hotel very impressed with everyone I dealt with.

We spent three nights at this beautiful property and truly enjoyed our stay. As a Marriott Bonvoy Gold member, I received a complimentary room upgrade, which was a pleasant surprise. The hotel’s location is excellent—close to the Old Town and the iconic Parliament House. Staff were professional and courteous throughout, with special thanks to Ms. Clara at the front desk for her helpful guidance. We would gladly return on our next visit to Bucharest.

The hotel room and bed were very comfortable, with good sound insulation in the room. The restaurants were relatively good. It is an excellent location next to the parliament, with plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. The team and staff set it apart and make this place 5-star. I had some trouble with heating and electrical cabling in my room, and it was attended to quickly. Yasmine at the front desk was always very kind; as were every team member I encountered.

Disappointing experience at JW Marriott - Vienna Lounge, ground floor. This is supposed to be a 5-star hotel, but the service was closer to a roadside Ferentari bar. [21 Oct, 10:25 PM] The barman refused to prepare a simple orange juice, claiming it was "too late" despite having the ingredients available - fresh fruits were clearly visible. It felt more like laziness than a real limitation. I asked for a non-alcoholic green apple cocktail instead. What I received was a glass of bottled juice with ice - no effort, no flavor, no presentation; nothing resembling a proper cocktail. From the start, his attitude was arrogant and dismissive. This wasn't the first time I've noticed the same behavior from him, which suggests a recurring problem rather than a bad moment. Someone with that mindset shouldn't be representing a 5-star hotel brand like Marriott. This level of service is far below what one would expect. The setting is premium, but the service is anything but. Management should seriously review how staff represent the Marriott brand.

If you’re looking for a modern and high end hotel with all the luxurious features you’d need then certainly consider here. From checking in, and right through the stay, all the staff were friendly and professional, willing to help with anything. The location is good, being an easy walk to the Old Town and handy for transport options. Our twin room on the fourth floor was very spacious, complete with sofa and loads of storage. The views over the junction and Parliament building were good but fortunately there was no noise from outside overnight. All the amenities you’d want were present, from robes and slippers to bathroom utensils. A good coffee machine and well stocked mini bar was present and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The bar in the lobby area is a relaxing space late in the evening, with live piano music. The staff are again professional and there’s a wide range of drinks at reasonable prices given the prime location. I’d certainly stay here again and would recommend.

After our Viking Danube cruise, we stayed here for three nights. This is a massive complex, with hundreds of rooms, many bars and restaurants and shops, and a lot of people! This hotel is a hub for Viking and there were at least three Viking groups staying in the hotel either after their cruise, or before it. So the restaurants could be very busy and service suffers a bit with the crowds. This hotel also does conventions, weddings, and other events, which adds to the crowds. It's a busy place!||Aside from that though, it's a fairly nice hotel, with a luxury feel to the interior spaces and comfortable enough rooms. The buffet breakfast in the steakhouse was very good, and we enjoyed a nice dinner at La Cucina, their italian restaurant. ||The location is okay. It's quite close to the massive Parliament Building, but is a 30 minute walk to Old Town. The hotel is quite isolated, not that close to shops or even other restaurants. Allucinante is nearby and is a nice place for dinner. ||After our stay here we moved to Old Town and spent two more nights at the Corinthia, which was a far nicer hotel (and more expensive, of course).

Very nice hotel with accommodating and friendly staff, very nice rooms and common areas as well. The Club Lounge for elite members is fantastic with a lot of choices for drinks and food, and a free breakfast. We stayed 3 nights and would recommend this hotel to all travelers. By far the very best hotel in Bucharest
