This was This was my third visit to the JW Marriott Clearwater Beach, and it was just as delightful as my first experience during opening weekend in May 2023. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised with a beachfront upgrade, thanks to my Gold Elite status.||Breakfast service, led by the exceptional Mari, was outstanding each day. Despite not being assigned to my table on the second day, she made a special effort to come over and chat, showcasing genuine hospitality.||The JW Spa continues to impress. A big shout-out to Chad, Amanda, and Colton at the spa front desk for their excellent service, and heartfelt thanks to Catherine and Magdalena for providing truly amazing treatments.||The hotel itself remains impeccably maintained and spotless. While the beach is beautiful, it could benefit from more regular attention to clear the sea grass that accumulates on the shore, and perhaps tidier organization of beach chairs. However, these are minor critiques.||The beach staff, particularly James and Andy, were outstanding, diligently serving food and drinks directly to guests at their beach setups.||Overall, this was another wonderful trip to the JW Marriott Clearwater Beach, and I look forward to returning again soon.

We had an amazing first time visit to the Resort! It was the perfect spot to combine a concert (at the Baycare Sound) with a girls getaway weekend! The water view from our balcony was amazing - where we enjoyed our morning coffee!!! Abegal in the coffee shop was super friendly! Loved watching the boats, and just enjoying the view. We split our time between the beach set up ( loved the Salmon bowls! And the service from Bryan and James!!) |We also enjoyed the pool area and the vibe up there! Rachel took great care of us!!|I loved the intimate size of the resort as well as the feeling of being away from it all, but also convenient to everything!|Shout out, too, to Colin, in Valet. He was personable and friendly. |Overall an amazing, relaxing stay!! Can’t wait to return!!!

On the surface, this property is outstanding. The building is beautiful, the beach is immaculate and the service from employees is efficient and kind. With the JW name, there is an expectation of excellence in all aspects, however the hotel policies and amenities fall short for a proper luxury experience. Elites are entitled to breakfast, but only a cold continental breakfast is included. There is a $10 upcharge for all hot items. I have stayed in other hotels that upcharge for breakfast, but their basic option usually includes more than fruit, cereal, and yogurt. There was also the issue of the view from rooms on the east side of the building. There is trash/construction equipment and dirt parking that spoils the view of any water. The beach view rooms on the other hand are wonderful. Another issue I faced was lack of concierge for 3 of the 5 nights of my stay. I wanted to do inquire about a boat rental and other activities around Clearwater, but there was no one on duty the day I arrived or when I went down to check 2 days later. Overall, I wanted to love this hotel and there were many great aspects; the employees and service were excellent, the rooms were clean and spacious, and the beach was enjoyable. On the other hand, there was a level of nickel and diming that I have not seen at other luxury marriott properties for such little value. That left a bad taste in my mouth and ruined what otherwise was an enjoyable trip.

Beautiful hotel and very friendly and helpful staff! In fact, we've never had better or friendlier service! The private beach is lovely. We were guaranteed 2 beach chairs: No getting up early to claim our spots like in other resorts! The beach is very clean. Because it is in the bay, the waters are very calm for children to play and for adults to float, and there is a nice mix of adults and families. Great hotel! We're already planning the next visit!

Google
Great first experience in Clearwater! The hotel was better than expected—clean, comfortable, and family-friendly. The beach was beautiful and the staff were kind and helpful. The only downside was the food options. There are only two restaurants, and the menu is quite limited, especially for young children. With a 2-year-old, we struggled to find anything suitable and had to order from outside. Healthier options like soups would make a big difference. Overall, a lovely stay and we would definitely return!

From the moment I parked Ethan and Nick greeted me and were super courteous valeting the car. The room was super clean and had a great view from the 12th floor. Where it fell flat was the service whether at the pool or inside getting a drink took very long. Paying premium prices for some lackluster service. Great location, everything within walking distance. Attached to the beach ⛱️

My girlfriend and I travel to Clearwater Beach quite often. Although we stayed at a different hotel, we wanted some really good food. We came across JW Marriott Hotel, Clearwater Beach. I must say this place is beautiful and the view from the restaurant rooftop was priceless. Quite elegant, I must say. Our host, Sebastian, at the restaurant was one of the best hosts we've ever had. He was patient with us. He was concerned about our needs and choice of food. He was very knowledgeable with the different selections of quality foods, and he checked on us quite frequently. We had nice conversations with Sebastian as well. We will definitely be back to this restaurant, and we may even start booking our rooms here as well. Thank you, Sebastian, at JW Marriott Hotel @ Clearwater Beach, Florida. Respectfully, Floyd & Kristin

**Review for JW Marriott** I cannot express enough how exceptional our experience at JW Marriott has been. From the moment we checked in to the day of our departure, every aspect of our stay was remarkable. The design of the property is beautiful, and the restaurants offer an array of delicious cuisine. Cleanliness is clearly a priority here, as both the interior and exterior spaces are impeccably maintained at all times. My husband and I had the pleasure of visiting for the first time last year to celebrate his birthday, and we had a fantastic time. We returned this year for a couple of nights, and once again, they exceeded our expectations. Moreover, the staff deserves special mention; they are incredibly attentive, caring, and simply outstanding. Typically, I am someone who looks forward to returning home after a trip, regardless of how enjoyable my stay has been. However, this time, I find myself reluctant to leave and eagerly anticipating our next visit next year.

Yelp
Place is new and clean. No issues with parking at all. The hotel is close to restaurants and nightlife. Walking distance to Pier 60. Hotel staff was friendly and the check-in was fast. No bedbugs. Plenty of towels. Bed was clean.

Yelp
Super excited that Clearwater Beach has a new hotel on the south side of Clearwater. This is closer to the Bellaire side, and closer to Sand Key. The views are stunning beyond belief and you will definitely feel like you are in paradise. Everyone working was very hospitable and welcoming and there was definitely service with a smile. I'm happy to see that they are dog friendly here and they sure love their dog visitors. There is a dog fee when staying at the hotel so make sure to check their site for that info. They have a cafe and a restaurant called Latitude 28 on the first floor and The Deep End Restaurant and Bar on the 11th floor. Staying overnight they have valet parking. If just going to the restaurants, there is parking by the Clearwater Police Station on the street. Besides the beach, don't forget to visit the pool on the 11th floor next to The Deep End Restaurant. What a stunning hotel filled with paradise and luxury. Welcome to Clearwater Beach!!

Yelp
Such a great stay! This is a jewel in the JW brand for sure. Hospitality, comfort, food & fun were on point. Will be back!

Yelp
Reviewing strictly for the Spa as I did not stay at the hotel. The spa was a FANTASTIC experience, a true luxury. It was clean, massage was great and the service was unmatched. The locker rooms had a steam room, sauna, and wonderful showers stocked with products. There were some snacks in the lounge area, and I was in true bliss sipping my complimentary champagne after my massage. Pro tip: for an even more relaxing experience try to hit the beach beforehand for some sun and saltwater. The beach - shower - steam room - sauna - massage - dinner pipeline was an unforgettable experience! Shoutout to Scott, Alaney, Amanda and Chris who were all fabulous. I will be back again!

Mathew F.

Yelp
This was a fantastic weekend, I'd highly recommend this hotel/ resort. From the food to the service and the private beach, this place has it all. Thank you James & Jeffrey for your service was outstanding! We will be back!

Yelp
We loved everything about our stay here over Thanksgiving weekend. Everything. Including the restaurants and bars and every single person we dealt with. Thank you, JW Marriott!

Yelp
This hotel is beautiful, BRAND NEW, and working out some quirks, but it is well worth a visit already. The good stuff: * Hunter in loss prevention is my personal hero and found my dental appliance that I accidentally left behind and helped me get it shipped back to my home, saving me hundreds of dollars and the hassle of making a new mold of my mouth and teeth (which is not a fun experience). Thank you, Hunter! * Beautiful room and bathroom. I think every room has a balcony; if not, it seems most do! * The spa -- I had the most fabulous deep tissue massage! It was so good that I asked for (and paid for) additional time. * Private beach area is not overrun with people (at least it wasn't when we were there). * Great breakfast experience and the chef making omelets (the one from South Carolina) is so very personable and customer oriented. Tell him the blondes from South Carolina appreciate him! * Very walkable to restaurants, bars, etc. downtown and for exercise. The stuff that could be better: * My room wasn't ready at check-in time, and we saw lot of unhappy customers waiting to get checked in. We ended up going to the pool to wait it out, but it was a few hours before it was ready. It seemed like maybe they were short on housekeeping staff to turn over rooms as quickly as they needed to. * The hotel has kind of a small footprint so the pool area is tight and is more of a family type setting (or it was when we were there on a girls' trip). Of course, this could be a good thing if you're traveling with family. But we prefer a resort that has an adults-only pool option.

Yelp
The private beach was amazing and we had comfortable beds and nice view. Upper deck pool great. Gym & spa nice. 4stars the food was okay. But other than that we had a great time .

Yelp
New hotel on a private beach with rooftop infinity pool, spa, fitness center, 3 restaurants and coffee shop. Located near downtown Clearwater and its famous public beach. The staff here was exceptional and went above and beyond with every aspect of our stay. The pool is large enough for lap swimming but the pool bar restaurant was a little off in terms of service compared to the rest of our stay but was still decent and had exceptional seating options for dining with views of the skyline and gulf coast.

Yelp
First we want to give our most and highest gratitude to the team at the Restaurant during our daily breakfast, Mrs. Nina, Mr. Benjamin both with leadership team and Mari and Griffin the sue Chef, all collaborated to make the best outcome for several challenges the restaurant has, the restaurant could use a commercial toaster, the bread station set up does not accommodate all the guest due to capacity, the menu item and food flavor are mixed with spices and flavor from Indian cuisine that does not go well with several Mediterranean dishes or American sandwiches. The dinner menu and the dishes either sweet in taste or blend, staff stated that the dinner menu is in overhaul due to different issues. The restaurant and omelet station without ventilation in the morning is the worst idea, the smoke from omelet is disruptive and unpleasant. The check in process was smooth and timely, not requested an upgrade as we were pleased with full pay for our choice of room, the front desk employee insisted on upgrading. The room was terrible, next to the street, supposedly city view (see the IMAGES) that night and next morning was absolute terrible due to sound of loud music or biker exhaust, we were taken away from what we booked, it was too late to switch room if they have not sold it to at higher rate ,as we have a baby with so much stuff to pack And unpack. The hotel housekeeping only offers foam or feather pillow, after 2 night we took spoke to Susan at front desk and here it was firm pillow that would you could sleep on without stuff neck, why this couldn't happen from first night we asked, but no options were given. To the leadership team at this property who set standards and planning, this was one of our worst vacation we ever experienced, you have great team for most part with little tools and not much support. It has been over a week, our request for a communication from General Manager Mr. Manuel has been ignored either by the messenger or himself.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel! Service was amazing, all of the staff was super friendly and attentive. There were a few hiccups with keys and checkout system but that's to be expected they've only been open a month, and everything was so fabulous we didn't mind waiting. The kids and I loved the little cafe - the ham and Swiss croissants were their fave and I was obsessed with the yogurt parfaits, i don't know what about it had me in a chokehold but I got one every morning. The beach was great, clean and the staff was very attentive, talk about full service. We had a balcony view of the ocean which was probably our favorite thing. Pool was great, honestly everything was fabulous, we would stay here again most definitely.

Yelp
This Place is AMAZING!! The Restaurant Latitude 28 is a True 5 Star Experience! The Staff goes Above & Beyond!

Janel L.

Yelp
One word. AMAZING. This is our third time staying here and we keep coming back. Everyone is so kind, drinks are great, food is great, rooms are so clean and beautiful. I have zero complaints and for me that says a lot;-)

Milou I.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Exclamation, I love the view in the hotel. It's beautiful. The food is super good and drinks. The staff is very accommodating.

Cheril W.

Yelp
Stumbled across this hotel on Expedia not realizing it has only been open a little over one month and is entirely brand new. I am so happy with our decision to book this hotel and the experience from start to finish was unbelievable. The friendliest and most genuine staff members. Even the younger workers all so professional and respectable hard working crew. Hopefully that dynamic sticks around, because it makes all the difference. Property was so beautiful and private beach was a huge plus. Rooftop pool was also amazing with such incredible views. Gym was perfect size with everything you need to get in a good workout while on vacation. Everything in this hotel really impressed me and we would highly recommend this hotel for anyone coming to Clearwater. This experience completely exceeded our expectations.

Yelp
Review of JW Marriott Clearwater Beach (stay May 2023) Overall, we had an exceptional stay. Highly responsive management who puts a lot of effort into training staff and ensuring guests have a great experience. The staff and their welcoming demeanor are the standout for this property. Loves: pet friendly, private beach, swanky pool, great for couples. Opportunities for improvement**: activities and stuff to do curated by the hotel, better breakfast at Latitude, more shopping options inside the hotel. **We stayed during their grand opening month. As a business owner myself, I know how hard it is to get a new location off the ground. That being said, many of my "cons" or suggestions may be fully resolved or a simple product of being in the early days of the hotel, so take them with a grain of sand and be sure to give this business the grace and understanding it deserves as it gets into full gear**. More detailed review, suggestions, and traveler tips below. Accommodations My husband and I stayed in the One Bedroom Residence (Room 912), which is a bit under 1000sf, has a large balcony, and was directly facing the private beach. It was a great room with the type of conveniences that allow you to use and enjoy the space, especially with a group larger than 2. The view from the room was stunning. During the day, it's beautiful shades of blue as far as the eye can see, and at night you can hear the waves and see the lights of the bridge or other properties in the distance which look pretty cool too. Bonus, when we were there there was a large event that had fireworks we got to enjoy from our patio. More details on each part of the room below-- Bedroom Pro Spacious. Great views from the bedroom, from the bed, and there is direct balcony access from bedroom. Our room had a large kind bed, large dresser with 6 larger drawers for comfortably storing things and one of the drawers had a safe inside for use. The bed had convenient plugs, outlets, and night lights affixed to headboard. There were two night stands, a standing lamp, and a lounge chair in the room as well. Passed the clean sheets test. I found the mattress and overall sleep comfortable and had no complaints. It's a lovely room, with a great view, and enough space to not feel on top of one another. We kept our dogs crate in the room in the corner and still had more space than needed, which is the way I want to feel in a suite. Con While I found the mattress and overall sleep comfortable and had no complaints, my husband didn't care for the pillows. For him, the pillows were a bit too soft. I called down to the front desk to request a different type of pillow and they didn't have anything. It would be great to have more options for comfort, but I fully understand that they can't be expected to have every shape and firmness option under the sun to match everyone's unique preference. Totally understandable, and, for that reason, I think discerning travelers should bring their preferred pillows with them. One thing is that I wish the room (bedroom or living room) had a desk. I understand it's vacation, but I really prefer to have a desk and place to do work in the event something comes up. Also, there was no AC adjustment in the room, so you have to walk to the living room to make adjustments, which is not the end of the world, but preference would be to have the option to adjust the AC in both main rooms of the suite. Overall, the cons are little personal preferences, but the room was overall exceptional and recommended. Bathroom Pro A very spacious bathroom. There's a nice large tub and shower next to one another, separate by a single sink and cabinet area with plenty of storage space, and toilet. Con It's a little thing, and it is what it is at this point, but as a married couple a single sink instead of a double sink is just not preferred. Again, it's totally doable for a vacay, but double sinks are just better, especially when you are sharing a bathroom. A bigger deal to me is the fact that there is no separate door/closure for the toilette. I am all for a separate toilet when you are forced to share one bathroom! Also, the shower and bathtub are kinda combined and on top of each other spatially, so you can't really have two people there (one showering/one bathing at the same time), also the water from the shower leaks into the rest of the bathroom. Would prefer a separate enclosure and the bathtub and shower separated instead of together. Again, just preferences, not significant cons and there is nothing ultimately wrong with the bathroom. Living room Pro The living room is spacious with great views and the convenience of access to balcony directly from living room. There's a large couch with a built-in pull out bed in case you want to share the room with guests in the living area and guests in the bedroom, which can be fully closed off by a separate door. Yelp! won't let me write anymore, so checkout my full review on TripAdvisor...

Yelp
Best hotel big room nice pool and nice beach But the restaurant down stairs latitude 28 not so good

Yelp
Our family recently stayed at the JW Marriott Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa. Our 6 year old daughter was struck in the head and knocked down with a beach chair when a Marriott employee was moving chairs around. As a result we spent the first day of our stay in the emergency room rather than enjoying the beach. We made the best of what remained of our stay, however ultimately this incident ruined a majority of trip. We are incredibly disappointed with the sterile and apathetic manner in which this situation was handled by Marriott. We try to teach our children to take responsibility for their actions and to care for the well-being of others. The day following the incident, our daughter asked why nobody apologized to her. No one has apologized, no one has offered compensation, and no one has offered to cover the medical expenses. We have been loyal Marriott clients for years, we've been Bonvoy members for years, and we recently became Marriott Vacation Club owners. The way that Marriott has handled this incident has embittered our opinion and view of the company as a whole. We are deeply disappointed in the way we have been treated throughout this situation. As far as the hotel, it is an okay location. You're not on the Clearwater beach. Their beach is very small. You get two lounge chairs & one umbrella, any additional will be a cost. For us, the two chairs were fine. The we had room was nice and neat, good enough for a few days stay. Valet parking is the only option. The room service staff was very nice and helpful. I can't say much about the restaurants on property since our first night dinner was going to be at their on property restaurant, but we had to stay in to keep close watch on concussion symptoms for our daughter. The outdoor service is nice and you have the option of ordering from your lounge chairs on the beach or eating at an available table under the outside patio.

Tona M.

Yelp
If I could leave zero stars, I would. They treat their staff horribly. I waited several minutes to be served in the restaurant. I watched management berate staff in the kitchen ( we could all hear it in the dining room) and I thought I would strike up a conversation with one of the kitchen staff. Apparently, they were all hired full time and promised 40 hours plus great hourly wages, during the summer. Apparently not a one of the had worked more then 2 full time weeks from July until November, which is when I stayed there. Yes, there were hurricanes, but there was no compensation, or ability to be paid to help with the hurricane cleanup. Most of them went to go find full time jobs to pay rent and eat and things like that and were told by management (that they brought in from India), that they had to quit their full time jobs If they wanted to stay at Marriott. So lies about hourly wages, lies about having full time employment, then unfair labor practices when they have to survive by working 2-3 jobs, because Marriott refuses to give them their 40 hours a week. Then it turns out they brought in managers from India and workers from Brazil and they are given preferential treatment over those US citizens for hours and benefits. I am going to notify FL dept of Labor and ICE to see if they can look into this.

Bobbi R.

Yelp
just left a great staycation. Brand new hotel. Customer service is excellent. all of the employees are great from the valet to the pool to the beach to the registration. We did not eat at any of the restaurants, so cannot speak to that. drinks at the pool were great but a little over priced. The only other thing is that the beach is very nice but very small. You cannot walk miles on the beach because you can't get to the main beach. They're trying to make a list.

Autumn W.

Yelp
In June 2023, I stayed at the recently opened JW Marriott Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa. I had a phenomenal experience with exceptional customer service. It was my first visit to Clearwater, FL and I stayed 7 days and 6 nights at the Resort and Spa. The property is beautiful, new, and well maintained. It is truly an individualized experience for each guest with 5-star service, and access to a guest-only private beach space. Both restaurants on the property offer delicious options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. As a woman who loves culinary experiences, I tasted the entire menu at both restaurants over the course of my 7 day visit. For breakfast, you have the option to access the buffet or order signature dishes from the menu. After accessing the buffet on my first morning, thereafter I ordered a new signature dish from the menu each morning. This is how I was able to have a new breakfast experience each morning, until I completed the menu. The breakfast menu is delightful, and I highly encourage you to step out of your comfort zone of a buffet and try a new signature dish each morning. For lunch and dinner, I ate at the rooftop restaurant. From the rooftop restaurant you can look over the ocean and see beautiful birds soaring high. This scenery is the definition of picturesque. Now, the menu at the rooftop restaurant is filled with Peruvian options, and the dessert options are extraordinarily delicious. As I conclude this review, I want to highlight the staff at the JW Marriott Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa. The staff at this property embodies a spirit of excellence that is unmatched. Thank you all for a magnificent experience: Preya, Jordan, Tiara, Mari, Benjamin, Matthew, Phoenix, Natalie, Laura, Elise, and Chef Nisa. If I forgot any names, I truly apologize, as I am writing this review a month after my stay.

Liv D.

Yelp
Absolutely 5 stars! Where do I start when attempting to describe the beauty of this gorgeous, luxurious hotel that is such a marvel to any visitors. It is a must for Clearwater travelers for so many reasons. It is by far one of the most stunning hotels I have ever stayed at, and that is after staying for one night! The "zero-entry" private beach pool is perfect for all ages, and you can boogie-board, kayak, swim and unwind. Kids and adults can relax and enjoy themselves to the greatest extent at such an exquisite and elegant location. The rooms are magnificent and so very comfortable. The staff is helpful and friendly, and you even get fruit-infused self-serve water right when you walk into check in area, already giving you a taste into this ravishing hotel. I must note that the desserts and food served are absolutely delectable with extremely flaky croissants in the best possible way and sweet, sugary strawberry cream cakes topped with fresh red strawberries! The only negative side on this amazing place is that you can't stay forever. It truly is the best!

Adam M.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful hotel and beach. Very comfortable rooms. They do have some strange things that I don't understand like no ice readily available, room service will not bring a cocktail and service on the beach doesn't start until 11. Our daughter cut her feet on the rocks and it was difficult to find a bandaid anywhere. Service was not great (took 1 1/2 hours to get appetizer in the restaurant which was not close to capacity) and service on the beach was hard to find and also slow. That said overall was a fun experience. Would just expect better service for that kind of $$$

Priscila R.

Yelp
I was looking to escape from a life of Directing and Producing near Clearwater... as it turns out, I forget that the color of my skin sometimes triggers some Floridian people. After having a racist interaction, and not mentioning it (because why would I want to ruin my weekend?), the woman that was targeting me alerted the staff when my husband asked what and why she was staring at me. The staff ran to her rescue, multiple managers approached this woman- and god bless her embarrassed husband. We are elite members here. I travel and get paid to stay at these places- yet, miss "Karen" got all the attention, I'm sure she got a free everything and even to the point where the manager had to come over to ask us what happened. After explaining the situation, we quietly left when I realized where racism was favored. Overall, and coming from someone who makes big name TV shows, I'd never stay here again. Even the Hispanic manager did nothing to make us feel welcomed and again ran to the privileged "Karen". We kindly paid our tab, gave everyone a 30-40% tip and left. Like respectable human beings do. Please feel free to reach out for the video that shows it all going down.

Vanessa Lynn V.

Yelp
Worth the money. Feels like absolute luxury staying here. All staff members have been extremely friendly and there is great service everywhere you go. Plus...they have beachside food and drink service. You get free beach chairs and umbrellas set up for you every day... soo nice!! Room was clean and large. Can't say anything bad.

Vincent S.

Yelp
Friendliest staff I've encountered in a long time. Staff there for your every need. Very clean hotel with plenty of towels in the bath. Great beach front with plenty of seating and once again staff to help you along the way. A lot of restaurants and nightclubs near. Only complaint was the lack of ice machines. They would be happy to bring you ice, but we really didn't want to call a lot. Parking staff great. I forgot the gentlemen's name who checked us is but he was super helpful. He's having a child soon and we wish him well.

Kimberly N.

Yelp
This new establishment is so spot on. Attention to detail and service is amazing. Amanda at the check in was so informative. She actually walked from the computer to graciously show us the gingerbread house display and elevators. Miguel was a wonderful beach server and Xavier attended to our needs for chairs and umbrella. Alana and Bridd were very quick to attend to my order for dinner at the Deep End, on the 11th floor. All personnel were awesome. I highly recommend this new property!!!

Jaynie R.

Yelp

Yelp
Great place. Good food, drinks and scenery! Staff is friendly. Pool is nice. Great location.

Yelp
In July 2023, my friend and I stayed here for a 4 day weekend. The staff went above and beyond, and we were greeted by everyone who worked at the resort. The rooms were nice and spacious. We had a private beach strictly for the resort, and the staff outside greeted us every day to help us get set up with chairs and umbrellas. Jeffrey, Arin, and Lucas were all wonderful, along with other staff members. James was our daily server outside, and he was wonderful as well. My friend and I cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay here.
