6 Best Hotel Tennis Camps, According to Avid Players | Condé Nast Traveler

"Built as Peter Burwash International’s flagship, this desert camp personalizes training from the outset with a pre-camp questionnaire on goals and level, then brings in Division I and II–experienced coaches for several days of two clinics per day that culminate in a tournament. Between sessions, players spread out across palm-lined grounds with two large pools set between lakes and courts framed by the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains, and a formal group dinner helps everyone connect." - Erik Buckingham

Greater Palm Springs Now Has a New Autism-Friendly Resort - AFAR

"An 893-room, 450-acre Palm Desert resort — the largest in the city with sweeping Coachella Valley views — has become the first hotel in Greater Palm Springs to receive Certified Autism Center accreditation from IBCCES. The designation followed staff training during 2022 and an IBCCES sensory audit, and reflects a property-wide commitment to accommodate guests with a range of neurodivergent conditions, including autism and ADHD. Practical changes focus on managing sensory environments: signs throughout the grounds rate sensory impact on a 1–10 scale for each of the five senses, a special property map (available at the front desk and via QR code) highlights low- and high-sensory areas (for example, putting greens and lawns are labeled low while the arcade and aviary are high), and a bin of soothing tools — noise-canceling headsets, fidget toys, weighted blankets, and other aids — is available for guests to check out. The resort emphasizes empowering staff to meet guests where they are so families with different needs can access its many activities and amenities comfortably." - Matt Villano

This property is truly amazing. I will be back. Everything in one place, great dining, beautiful spa, game room and activities for adults and kids. Even got a private boat ride for regular fee (cause no one else signed up). The property is very large and you don't feel like you have enjoyed your whole weekend at one resort. The staff provided top service, was kind and friendly, and very grateful for tips.

I stayed here for one night with my wife, and unfortunately, the experience left a bad impression. The room they gave us was tucked away in a far corner, making it difficult to navigate with our luggage. On a positive note, the pool was nice and the boat ride was enjoyable. However, the real issue started after checkout. I was charged the correct resort fee and taxes at first, but the next morning I noticed a $410 charge for a full night’s stay — even though I had already booked and paid through a third-party vendor. After leaving a voicemail, someone from the Accounting Department called back and admitted it was their mistake. They said a refund would take 7–10 days, but there was no apology or offer to make things right. This experience completely destroyed my trust in Marriott. It’s disappointing that such a reputable brand handles guests’ billing errors this way. Sadly, they’ve lost my business for good.

This is a very nice resort hotel. We had a great time. One major complaint concerned the management or lack thereof of pool usage. There are two large pools and a back deck with two spas. We thought one pool would be a family pool and the other would be adult only. However, both pools were inundated with kids. On a second day at the pool, we asked the concierge if there was a quiet area. He directed us to the back deck. Good at first until it was also inundated with kids playing in both spas. I always thought persons under the age of 16 could not be in spas unsupervised and small children should not be in spas at all.

Just got back from a long weekend here and it was absolute paradise. The resort is massive and feels like its own world – the lobby is stunning with panoramic views, and the grounds are impeccably maintained. We loved taking the boat ride through the canals! Our room was spacious and comfortable with a great balcony. The real stars are the pools; there are so many to choose from, so you never feel crowded. We spent our days floating in the lazy river and our evenings at the fire pits. The spa is also top-tier, definitely worth the splurge. Service was impeccable from check-in to check-out. Everyone from the bell staff to the pool attendants was genuinely friendly and helpful. It's the perfect blend of luxury and relaxation. We'll definitely be back New chat

The beds are very comfortable. We stayed in the griffin suite and found it a good size for our family. The room service was also good and portions were great. Coffee in room was good and strong. ||Pool is heated slightly but the temp when we were there was high 29-30C. Feeding the fish and ducks was a highlight for our toddler. Drinks at the pool could be improved. ||The fisherman’s restaurant was not good. Would not go back. We were very disappointed in food and the server was not attentive. ||Will go back, enjoyed our stay.

Dani at the pool was amazing. Their work ethic was immediately notable. They addressed us within less than 5 minutes of us seating, asking if they could grab us anything. They were spending any time that they weren’t with customers tending to the chairs and umbrellas making sure they were neat and tidy. We witnessed them bring waters to customers without them having to ask. They consistently checked in and were overall pleasant to interact with. While other servers provided a great level of service, Dani really exceeded expectations. Thanks, Dani!

I stayed at the JW Marriott in Palm Desert for the Insurance Allegiance Conference and was blown away by the property. The amount of banquet and meeting space is impressive, making it perfect for large events. The grounds are stunning, with beautifully maintained landscaping and serene views. Amenities are top-notch—a full spa, a badass arcade, a really nice gym, a golf course, several inviting pools, and even a gondola boat that glides right through the lobby. Multiple bars, including one at the pool, and several excellent restaurants make it easy to relax and unwind. There are even some very cute clothing and gift shop stores on the property. It’s most definitely a full service/one stop shop. You can literally just stay at the hotel and have everything you need. My room was equally impressive, featuring a spacious walk-in shower and a separate deep Japanese-style soaking tub. The private patio opened right off the bedroom and offered a peaceful, secluded spot to enjoy the view. This conference truly felt like a vacation thanks to the resort-style setting, luxurious rooms, and exceptional facilities

Google
Overall, really amazing property. The hotel itself is amazing, the grounds are so beautiful, and the entire staff was so friendly and helpful. There is also a nice selection of restaurants and shopping right onsite, and plenty of activities to keep all ages busy and entertained. The location was also ideal, and plenty to do nearby if you decide to leave the property. Random, but I was also super impressed by the pressure in the shower. Highly recommended, and will definitely be back.
