Hello!!! We stayed here last year (25th June 2025) and I must say, from the moment we reached reception the service was phenomenal! There was this lovely lady who was a trainee at the time, her name was Monica, and her service was amazing!!! My brother was learning Chinese in school I think and she was really excited about that! We also weren’t sure if buffet breakfast was included in our deal and we were confused, but she helped us out with that too after asking her manager! She was awesome!!! Thank you Monica! We mentioned that it was my brothers birthday recently and we got a lovely surprise in our room! The Teppanyaki was so yummy and entertaining! The chef was very kind! Also, the pizza making was very fun! It was delicious and I loved the garden tour! I have these staff names written down (it was so long ago so I can’t remember who did what exactly) but Romeo (perhaps the teppanyaki chef), Isaac Motzimagana (or a similar spelling), and Joseph Raj (perhaps the pizza instructor) left a lovely impression!!! Also, the gym was the best I've seen in a resort/hotel! I think all the equipment was new, and there was water, apples and cold towels provided when I went! I loved the treadmills! Thank you Marriot!!!

Our stay at the JW Marriott Gold Coast was nothing short of exceptional, especially after I messaged in advance about celebrating the birthdays of the two wives on our trip, and Tezania promptly responded in-app to assist, leading to a delightful surprise of a bottle of champagne in each room upon check-in. The warm and efficient check-in process, handled by Kai, Tezania, and Sharon, made us feel welcomed from the start, while Dan the Magician's entertaining performances captivated the whole family throughout our visit. The hotel and its restaurants went above and beyond to accommodate our 5-year-old's tree nut allergy, with the team at Citrique—especially Josie—bringing out specially prepared safe desserts like ice cream, cake, and bread for a worry-free dining experience. To top it off, the gym facilities were top-notch, boasting state-of-the-art equipment and a spacious layout that made our workouts invigorating and enjoyable.

This hotel surpassed our expectations, providing an unforgettable experience. From the moment we entered, the hotel's magnificent interior design captivated us. The rooms were equally impressive. We had a fantastic time at the artificial beach with a waterfall, complete with fish, and the pool with slides. The restaurants offered exceptional dining options, including 'Chapter & verse bar and lounge', which served mouth-watering cuisine and provided a colouring activity for children. 'Citrique' offered a vast breakfast buffet, and the staff were remarkably attentive. I would like to commend Front Office Agent Pranjal Sethi for being the epitome of hospitality. Upon arrival, she welcomed us with a refreshing drink and took the time to thoroughly explain the hotel's facilities and activities, also providing a gift pack for our child. Her warm demeanour made us feel valued and appreciated. During our conversation, she casually inquired about the purpose of our holiday and, upon learning of the special occasion, arranged for a cake and greeting card to be sent to our room, a delightful surprise that made the occasion even more memorable. Throughout our stay, she was helpful, lovely, and thoughtful. The rest of the staff also displayed excellent training, friendliness, and a pleasant attitude. I highly recommend this hotel and will certainly return.

Our stay at the Marriot was exceptional! From the rooms, the pools and staff, everything was highly professional. We stayed in the ocean view king room which had a calm and relaxing feel to it with stunning views from the balcony. The buffet breakfast was amazing with plenty of options for everyone and the pastries for breakfast was the best I have ever had! Filled with quality food. The pool area was massive with so much options for seating and areas to relax and swim in. This is one of the best pools in Australia I have been too! Every single staff member we encountered, was professional, approachable and polite. They really look after their guests. I was unable to get a booking for their onsite restaurant kimono however the staff ended up going above and beyond and making arrangements for me and I had the best teppanyaki experience! I have stayed at many hotels in the Gold coast but this surely has to be the best. Would definitely come back. Thanks to the entire team at Marriot!!

I really enjoyed my stay here at the Marriott! The pool was amazing and it made me so relaxed, the little spas are also a really nice touch! I also have to mention the interior is splendid, I can’t help but gasp at the site of how everything is arranged and designed. The rooms are very comfortable and exceptionally big, also the view is AWESOME, the city at night is such a beautiful sight (I recommend booking a high room if you want a better view). Honestly just viewing the city from the balcony at night was so special to me. Service was also great, as expected! I think this place is definitely worth the holiday, so if you’re considering going, please do so because it will be a great experience. AND BOOK A HIGH ROOM FOR A GOOD VIEW!!

Our stay at the JW Marriott Gold Coast was exceptional and exceeded expectations. As soon as we arrived, the service was amazing. We were welcomed by Chanel , her friendliness immediately set the tone for our entire stay. The welcome butterfly pea drink was a nice and unexpected treat! ROOMS: Our room was beautifully maintained—spotlessly clean, spacious, and incredibly comfortable. The room offered a lovely view, which made our stay even more relaxing. The bedding was luxurious and very comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep, and the plush towels added a nice touch of comfort. Overall, the room felt well-designed, modern, and welcoming, making our stay at JW Marriott truly enjoyable. THE POOL:
The pool area is outstanding, featuring a tropical saltwater lagoon with small cute fish, along with a jacuzzi, a heated pool, a waterfall, and a waterslide. What truly made this experience unforgettable, however, was the exceptional care shown by the pool staff. A special mention goes to the pool guard, Toki (apologies if the spelling is incorrect). He was not only professional, but genuinely responsible, honest, and deeply caring. One moment deeply touched my heart—when my young son was standing on the hot bridge crying from the heat, Toki immediately came over, gently picked him up, and ensured he was safe and comfortable. As a parent, this meant the world to me. On our last day, I offered Toki $500 as a sincere gesture of gratitude, but he politely declined, explaining that he just started this job and unsure about the policy regarding tips. His honesty and integrity truly moved me. He cared for every guest with genuine attention and worked tirelessly throughout the day—I honestly never saw him sit down even once. He truly deserves recognition and a higher pay rate. The rest of the pool team was also excellent, especially Harry and Anna, who were kind, attentive, and welcoming. Overall, the pool staff went above and beyond and made our stay truly special. SERVICE: The turndown service was a lovely touch, with aromatherapy spray, chocolates, and a light refresh of the room—such a pleasure to return to after a long day. The entire hospitality team delivered outstanding service, from our first point of contact, Chanel, to the helpful host Steven, as well as the attentive hosts and servers, our kind housekeeper, and the staff member who promptly delivered items to our room. Everyone truly made us feel welcome and helped create a memorable stay.

Excellent accomodation, one of the best hotels we've ever stayed at. The kids loved the salt water pool and the slide, the buffet breakfast was outstanding and the staff was great and helpful at all times. Alex stood out, popping up literally everywhere from the restaurant, to the pool area, with his happy and friendly attitude. Monica at the restaurant was also so attentive and helpful. The kids were very sad to leave, we hope to be back soon.

Today we completed our 5 nights stay at JW Marriott Gold Coast and my family and I are so satisfied and happy. Before we decided to stay here we researched all Gold Coast resorts and relied on checking out all negative google reviews. I sort of pulled away from this place due to all negative reviews but my wife persuaded me to give it a chance. Oh boy was I glad we came! I DON’T UNDERSTAND HOW CAN ANYONE LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW FOR THE CLEANLINESS, SERVICE, FOOD OR ANYTHING HERE?! ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING IS AMAZING! Melika at reception even extended our checkout time to 3pm as we have a late flight home. Melika and Yanna are so helpful and hospitable. What even topped off the service side of things is when I was at reception waiting on Christmas Eve a CEO Ravinder Dhesi walked up himself to greet me and check if everything was ok! (I knew that it was Mr Dhesi as I checked up all the details before our stay) The man was so down to earth and very kind. All in all the experience for my children, my wife and I is that that we are leaving JW Marriott Gold Coast with some amazing memories and we are grateful to all the staff and the service at this wonderful holiday resort. DO NOT BELIEVE NEGATIVE REVIEWS FOR CLEANLINESS/HYGENE, SERVICE AND FOOD SIDE OF THINGS.

Yelp
Our stay at the JW Marriott Gold Coast was exceptional and exceeded expectations. As longtime Marriott members, this was one of our best experiences As soon as we arrived, the service was outstanding! Chanel at the front desk gave us such a warm and friendly welcome, and the butterfly pea drink was a fun, unique treat. The room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable, with an amazing view. Comfy beds, thick luxe towels, Nespresso machine, and the ice machine has crunch pebble ice!!! I love pebble ice! The pool area was the highlight. The tropical saltwater lagoon with small tropical blue fish was really cool, and the heated pool with a waterfall and waterslide was a huge hit with my husband. lol. The hospitality team made use feel so valued during our stay. The nightly turn down service w/ aromatherapy spray, chocolates, and a light cleaning is so nice to come back to at the end of our night. The complimentary WiFi for Marriott members is always a great perk. On our second day, when we logged on and we received a prompt asking about our stay so far, we asked a question and they certainly went above and beyond and delivered. Thanks so much to management/customer relations!! The entire hospitality team, including our kind housekeeper, Steven at the restaurant, the breakfast host/servers, and staff who delivered items up to our room, all provided such wonderful service. Everyone truly made it a memorable stay! **Ooh the breakfast buffet at the restaurant is delicious! From American breakfast such as pancakes, eggs, breakfast meats, made-to-order omelettes, cold meats and cheese,, Asian cuisines, pastries and a fresh juice bar station was outstanding! Don't pass it up! (Build your own omelette has crab meat options...mmmmm).

Yelp
This JW Marriott restored some of my faith in the this particular brand. For too long i have paid premium rates to stay at score of this so called 5 star property across the US only to be met w utter disappointment. Yes JW usually have the newer rooms and yes they often have the most aesthetically appealing lobbies and decor. However most of the domestic JW chains employed staff who are ill trained and mannered at best, often treating customers w indifference and annoyance. This is especially true after covid This was not the case at this property. From the moment you arrive you're greeted w sincere smiles from valet to the front desk. Despite arriving at one of the busiest seasons the front desk promptly made effort to get us early check in - a welcome benefit after a 16 hr transcontinental flight. During our near 10 days stay, we are constantly greeted by members of the staff w genuine pleasantry, from cleaning service to wait staff. Most astonishingly, they did so out of simple dedication to professionalism, i.e, no hands our looking for tip like the case in the US.. and in fact I tried to leave tip for the cleaning staff on multiple occasions w no success. Finally had to chase one down and force it into her hands in person. not sure if all Aussie jw Marriott are is the same caliber but having stayed at other similar hotels in Sydney in the past, I can bet this is chain is not the exception. So thank you jw surfs paradise, this yankee will definite tip the hat to all of you for helping making this trip a pleasant one.

Yelp
Wonderful resort in Surfers Paradise Positives - Truly extraordinary service, wonderful spacious rooms, salt and freshwater pools, good restaurants, near everything in and around Surfers Paradise. Negatives - Not actually next to anything, restaurant choices somewhat monotonous, Japanese restaurant teppanyaki only. I was fortunate enough to enjoy a weeklong stay at Marriott Surfers paradise. While the weather held, this meant daily swims in the ocean followed by some combination of lunch at Chapter & Verse, hiding from the midday sun in my room and on my balcony, and enjoying the pools at the resort. Then evenings in 'downtown' Surfers paradise (or Tedder Ave). The biggest issue with the resort is that it is near but not next to everything. It is a two block walk to the nearest store (no onsite sundry store), a three block walk to the beach, a two block walk to the tram station (which is in turn two stops away from 'downtown' Surfers Paradise), and so on. So if you absolutely must be beachfront or in downtown Surfers Paradise this is not the resort for you. But I found it's combination of wonderful rooms and service, extravagant pools, and good restaurants quite enjoyable.

Yelp
It was ok. First time back in just over 10 years. The spa was awesome and I got a great facial, they were very busy but you wouldn't know it because there was no noise etc whilst having my treatment. We are Marriott rewards members and as such got an upgrade to the 22nd floor and champagne on arrival. We were staying just one night- Saturday. We also were given a 15% discount on restaurants (not including minibar, Misono on a Saturday night, in room dining or Citrique), this only left Chapter and Verse. Anyway my husband, father in law and 2 kids were asked to leave Chapter and Verse outside area on the Saturday afternoon as they were in rashies/boardies after swimming in the lagoon pool. So I guess the 15% discount was good for literally nothing. We got in the car and drove to one of the Surf Clubs for lunch. We had dinner in Misono ( formerly Benihana) the Japanese Teppanyaki Restaurant. Was entertaining, it really is a performance and a bit of fun. The food was great but there really are only a couple of times you can go to Teppanyaki before it gets old. The chef was entertaining and funny. Our room had two double beds in the room. We did not sleep well at all. There was no mattress topper that Marriott are famous for overseas. We had 8 sky high pillows in the room, no flat ones. There was no top sheet on either bed. So it was the comforter/doona and a bottom sheet. The room was hot and even though we had the a/c on it was still hot overnight. Partly because the a/c return is located in the wardrobe that automatically has the light come on when the door is open - seriously who thought of that? So to have the a/c work correctly you have to have the wardrobe door open which triggers the bright light, while you are trying to sleep. The rooms do not look significantly different to when we last stayed there in 2006/2007. I remember the beds back then having the topper and the top sheet. SMH. As we were leaving early Sunday morning I pushed the bed and found small toys belonging to prior guests. The lagoon pool is also a bit of fun, there was less marine life and coral etc this time around. I'm sure it is difficult to keep the fish alive with all the sunscreen and whatnot in the pool. The short lazy river and waterslide are ok and safe for kids to go on. The staff we dealt with were polite and helpful. Housekeeping is truly letting this team down. I expect more from a Marriott, being booted from a poolside restaurant/cafe at the Gold Coast for wearing boardies at lunch was too much.

Yelp
Nothing but amazing! The pool is breathtaking and worth a swim in and the poolside staff was fantastic, in particular, Hayden. It seemed like no task was a pity task for him and made my family and I's time at the pool wonderful. Definitely, deserves tips. All the staff at the hotel and nothing but wonderful. It's an amazing place to stay!

Yelp
Fantastic outdoor area. If you are holding a function, the staff here are as helpful as they come. Great food and a great location on the Gold Coast.

Yelp
We had a fantastic stay here. The continental breakfast is an amazing proper full spread with cold meats, cheeses, yogurts, dried fruits, pastries etc. Skip the hot food in my opinion (was dry and undercooked). Hotel is very well maintained. Staff are extremely polite and only to happy to help. This was our first holiday with a baby and it was. a huge success! The salt water lagoon pool is amazing. Great vibe with music playing in the pool bar. I would take half a star off if I could because if anyone from management is reading this: you absolutely must get the shade situation sorted out around the pool. There is zero shade unless you want to pay $350 to rent a cabana for four hours. This is insane. You know how dangerous the QLD sun is. I was covered in strong sunscreen but was only able to enjoy the pool for an hour a day (I still suffered some minor burns).

Yelp
Grounds are the best of all surfers paradise hotel, especially if you have kids which I do not, even without kids the pool, waterfall, etc are better than any other in the area. Rooms are clean, probably a bit smaller than I'm used to for a 5 star but adequate. Only a block from the beach but 15m walk from the main restaurant and bar area so that isn't ideal if you want to be in middle of action. The staff is amazing and helpful and friendly. Whether you are talking Nicole who checked us in and went above and beyond the entire stay. Or Melanie who was the Marriott Vacation rep who helped in every way possible and more. To Adam, the bar manager, who was the friendliest person, who told us the background and stories behind many of the spirits they had behind the bar and so much more. Danielle who is a server in the bar was so attentive and accommodating. Staff is amazing, especially those four. I would come back to this location if only for those four.

Yelp
We had the pleasure of spending 4 nights here in November and in our experience it is a true gem of a resort. We have spent time here previously and once again succumbed to the quality of service and the Elantra club accommodation on offer. We spent our days by their pool area which was shared with a number of harmless and friendly Water Dragons and Herons. The Pina Colada served in a coconut shell is a delight and the pool is uncrowded and relaxing. Food, drinks, service were all top notch and the staff are all friendly and helpful. It is a full holistic 5 star experience that we will be sure to repeat.

Yelp
Fantastically hotel. The pool was amazing... Loved the tropical feel. The rooms were really nice and comfortable. Loved the bar! Cirtrique was ok. Elandra executive lounge was good bit can be bigger and should have a bit more on offer for the size of the hotel. Overall .... I will be back!!

Yelp
What a disappointment! The positives: lovely view; efficient check in process; bellmen QUICK for both arrival and departure; nice buffet breakfast; lobby bar was GREAT- manager, staff, signature drinks, service- ALL! (The bar manager should get promoted to GM- as he seemed to be the only one REALLY on the ball on this busy- Christmas week). The negatives: not beachfront- and no chairs or umbrellas offered to guests that wanted to walk to the beach; lobby in need of maintenance and repair (multiple areas of falling drywall and water stains on the ceilings); pool was skimmed only once in 6 days; we were there over a holiday, so the regular staff was off (we were told) so the waiters in the breakfast hall and by the pool were HORRIBLE! Waited 1 hour 5 minutes for a salad to be delivered one day- when I complained and asked to speak to the manager- the manager thought it would be enough to NOT speak to us, and offer us 2 drink coupons instead! (We watched him do this- then I went to HIM!); the room was not cleaned until after 3PM, and only then when I called and demanded it be cleaned (housekeeping carts into the hall on the floor- but no maids); the concierge desk was basically a JOKE - just a place for the bellmen to hang out ( not one of the people at the desk we spoke to there knew ANY of the restaurants we visited - all top 10 from Trip Advisor- nor were they able offer any suggestions of activities)- a REAL disappointment; when they bill arrived as we were checking out, we were overcharged by $380!! Spent 20 minutes at the desk straightening that out (examples: charged $7 for bottled water in the room even though it had a tag on it that said complimentary; charged $39 per person per day for breakfast, even though my friends Marriott Rewards status have is complimentary breakfasts; charged for a lunch poolside on a day we went to the Great Barrier Reef; charged for a dinner in the restaurant - we were at another restaurant!); wait staff in EVERY venue opted to hang out in groups instead of in their stations making sure guests needs were met (I think this is an unfortunate side effect of a 'salaried vs tipped' environment- the staff have no reason to try hard- they get paid the same for doing nothing); lounge chair area by pools NEVER cleaned (there were glasses in the sand for anyone to step on and dirty towels left on chairs for hours); bathrooms in the rooms very dated. All in all- this hotel was the lowest point of an otherwise SPECTACULAR trip to AU! If I had had to pay for the room instead of using my friends points- I would have disputed the charge- as it is, I will just NEVER recommend this property to anyone, and I would be hard pressed to suggest a Marriott to anyone without relating this experience. Stay somewhere else in Surfers Paradise!

Yelp
Great hotel located at the center of surfers paradise!
