I booked my last night at this hotel expecting a modern stay in the city center. However, apart from the reception area, the hotel feels outdated and worn. There isn't much to explore without taking a taxi, aside from shopping centers. ||Upon arrival, I was disappointed by the lack of assistance with my luggage. My taxi driver had to help me out of the taxi and retrieve my bags since the doorman seemed disoriented. I waited outside for 2-3 minutes before deciding to take my suitcase inside myself. The same lack of service was evident after check-in when I made my way to my room.||Although I received an upgrade, the room felt very dated. The bathroom towels were of low quality, and basic amenities like cotton wool were missing. Additionally, there is no turndown service, which is usually provided. The bed however was comfortable. ||The executive lounge felt dark and claustrophobic, with children running around and water spilling everywhere in the bathroom. It was inconvenient to have to ask for sparkling wine, although food choice was extensive. Overall, the atmosphere was not pleasant.||The breakfast was not good. The poached eggs were cooked in a microwave (!!!) and the over easy fried eggs pre cooked were overcooked. There was egg that had fallen in the floor creating a slip hazard that I slipped on and no one had noticed. The orange juice was very bitter as was the coffee and no teaspoons or cloth napkins provided. There was no sugar on the table either. They also started to shut the buffet up before 10:30 and no one provided any notice. ||I also had booked a car service for the following day but my plans had changed. When I went to cancel the car service I discovered that the concierge had never booked in when requested anyway. A good job that I didn’t need it!!||In comparison, I stayed at the JW in Shenzhen last week, which was excellent, and I also enjoyed a few nights at the Intercontinental Beicham Beijing just prior, which was impressive. I'm puzzled by the significant drop in quality and service at the JW in Beijing compared to the same brand in Shenzhen and even other hotels in Beijing. I will not be returning.

I had a comfortable, beautiful six-night stay from August 13 to August 19 in the JW Marriott Hotel Beijing Central where the staff treated me with such kindness and housekeeping did such an efficient, timely job in making up my room every day. I especially highlight concierge, Franco, who went out of his way to be helpful. I loved my room, which the staff upgraded for me, its comfortable bed, nice big bathroom and shower, and other features making for a great experience. You can walk to Tiananmen Square from the hotel in about 25 minutes or take the subway at the station nearby. I swam every day in the big indoor swimming pool and relaxed in the hot tub. I ate at the good restaurants on-site, including Casalingo, JW Café, and the Man Ho Chinese restaurant, all of them good. I had the breakfast buffet, too, in the JW Café and delicious evening food in the Marriott clubroom. A very pleasant front desk clerk, Tracy, handled my checkout when I left and very kindly asked me how I liked my room. I appreciated her great service. Thank you.

I stayed there for 3 nights. This is my second stay. I returned because my first visit was very pleasant. ||This time round, the stay is just as good. I want to write about the concierge. ||I have to get a luggage lock in a hurry. I called the front desk and was told to approach the concierge. The staff helped me order online and the item arrived within 20 mins. Amazing!!||The staff are all very pleasant and polite.

If you're looking for 5-star comfort with impeccable service in China's bustling capital, the JW Marriott Hotel Beijing delivers an unforgettable experience. From the grand lobby to the plush rooms, every detail exudes sophistication. What We Loved:✔ Prime Location – Nestled in the CBD district, it’s steps away from shopping (The Place, China World Mall), dining, and major attractions like the Forbidden City (20-min drive). ✔ Spacious, Stylish Rooms – Our Deluxe Room was a haven of comfort with a mluxurious Marriott bed, floor-to-ceiling city views, and a sleek marble bathroom (hello, rain shower!). ✔ Outstanding Dining – The Man Ho Chinese Restaurant served some of the best Cantonese cuisine we’ve had, and the breakfast buffet at The Kitchen Table was a global feast. ✔ Exceptional Service – Staff went above and beyond—friendly concierge, quick room service, and even helped us book last-minute Great Wall tours! ✔ Heavenly Spa & Pool – The Quan Spa was pure relaxation, and the indoor pool with natural light was perfect for a refreshing dip.

I booked at the JW Marriott in Xicheng predominantly off of the location of the hotel and relatively low price coupled with the reviews. ||The hotel's location is fairly central but there is a bit of a catch which is that the main attractions close to the hotel such as Tianamen Square and the Forbidden City require a transfer first at Xidan to Line 1 on the Beijing Subway. The subway ride to the Summer Palace is more direct but in totality the location is a bit of a mixed bag despite centrality. There is a nice bus route that stops almost directly at the north entrance to the Forbidden City at Shenwumen though.||The rooms were fairly large and the decor was solid with a nice sitting area, a fairly expansive desk area and a nice array of amenities including a pretty holistic coffee set. The beds were comfortable but the pillows lacked in terms of firmness (all four were soft). However one key aspect was I noticed that there were a few aspects where cleanliness seemed a bit overlooked. For instance, the table between the two chairs in the sitting area and the desk were both overlayed with glass and the glass appeared to have some residue that left marks which should've been in theory an easy wipe down. The carpet also appeared to have some wear and could have used a cleaning job.||The bathroom was much the same story as the room itself. The bathroom was clean enough and was sufficiently expansive to contain both a shower and a bathtub with a large vanity area. But also similarly to the room, there was a few aspects that were evidently not there, the most glaring being a crack in the tile nearest the toilet which again should have been an easy fix in theory.||Breakfast in the morning was a bit steep pricing wise (the normal going price is 228 CNY but I was able to get a discount for 3 that dropped the price to 446 CNY total or about 150 CNY a person) but the selection was very large with both Western and Chinese as well as hot and cold options. The quality was nice and I really appreciated the drink selection including cold beverages which is not as common in Chinese breakfasts. ||Service throughout my stay was quite good. This probably will be influenced by your level of Mandarin but every staff member I encountered throughout the stay was lovely and I was even sent a welcome fruit bowl on the first night. Generally I find that most staff at luxury hotels are above par but the staff here were particularly exceptional at being proactive without being too intrusive.||The service here, overall luxuriant style, and also the breakfast would be sufficient to warrant a five bubble rating but I just cannot really shake the fact that the hotel overlooked some basic maintenance and cleanliness in some very obvious areas but considering it's a 5 star hotel in one of China's tier one cities, I can't be too harsh given the price since the other aspects were up to par.

Stayed here for the Great Wall of China marathon through Albatross with my husband. After speaking with others in different tour groups, It seemed like it was the best choice out of all hotel options although it was a little further away from everything. The hotel itself was clean and inviting. It’s definitely older and has a smoky scent but I also feel like all of Beijing has the same air quality. The staff was very accommodating and our room was comfortable. I enjoyed the small but effective gym and yoga room the most. Other amenities included the pool, hot tub and sauna. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a variety of Eastern and Western styles of cuisine. There were a few gluten free options as well. The Italian restaurant was ok but the Chinese restaurant was very good. The location itself was a little far from some main attractions but Didi was easy to use. The only downside is that the traffic is terrible so driving to various destinations took double to triple the amount of time. Overall a very nice stay.

We had the pleasure of staying at JW Marriott Beijing Central in March 2025. We stayed in a suite room #1325 that was both beautiful and comfortable—clean, spacious, and tastefully designed with a blend of modern and classic touches. The attention to detail in the room’s decor added a touch of timeless elegance.||The staff were truly professional—polite, efficient, and always ready to assist with a smile. Their service made the entire stay feel seamless and well taken care of. ORANGE-whom assist us at check-in, and the new EXECUTIVE LOUNGE MANAGER (sorry I forgot her name)||The hotel is ideally located in the heart of Beijing, with easy access to cultural landmarks, shopping, and dining. Whether for business or leisure, it’s a perfect base for exploring the city.||I would highly recommend JW Marriott Beijing Central for anyone looking for refined comfort, excellent service, and a strategic location.

After a long 3 weeks touring China we arrived at J W Marriott Beijing Central for a 4 night stay. Comfort in familiarity was key in choosing this hotel. Arriving at 9.30 pm the check in process was laborious the Young lady had no idea how to deal with a western guest. From not understanding credit card procedures to what was included in our booking. Eventually Kevin the duty manager intervened to clarify some of the issues. So of to our suite everything was fine, beautiful room with nice furnishings.Extra bed arrived as there was three on the booking . The girl at reception was trying to charge for extra bed even though on the printed copy I had it stated extra bed at no cost!!. As we stayed at club level we availed of the club lounge. Nice comfortable lounge. Choice of food offerings a bit restrictive to our taste. A simple request for example some jam was not facilitated . Nice swimming pool with sauna , steam room and jacuzzi in dressing rooms . Increased supervision is required with young children jumping into jacuzzi and in steam room on our visit. Breakfast and dinner is buffet style with plenty of choices .Food can be warm not hot as experienced in other hotels in China . House keeping was efficient and all amenities were restocked daily. Very disappointed with check in and lack of accommodating additional small requests in the lounge. Kevin did come to see us the next day and helped smooth out some of the issues. We also had a type of dining package for lunch or dinner which even though I had a printed copy seemed to prove too much confusion for the restaurant staff. So much so we did not bother to use it on a couple of days. This package was clearly available on the Marriott bonvoy site. I have to question why the confusion we paid for it yet seamed to be restricted in using it!!!.As a flagship brand within the group there should not be these silly mistakes,we had previously stayed a couple of months back in an other JW Marriott and experienced same type of issues. The comfort and familiarity and confidence in the brand to the guest when booking should be understood. Understanding country specifics should translate in the booking process. When you have made a reservation check the small print as in our experience when we arrive there is always additional charges they try to add. Particularly when you have more than 2 on the booking. Management need to up there game in a highly competitive market especially to Marriott Bonvoy members to ensure their loyalty in the future.|It has not been a smooth experience .Kevin helped immensely, however he was on annual leave for most of our stay.|I would however hesitantly recommend the hotel only for its location, amenities , comfort and cleanliness. As to service to non Chinese guests I would hold my reservations.
