Stayed at JW Marriott Hotel Macau from 9 to 11 June 2025 with my family. Overall, it was a very good stay, though with a few small points worth noting. Despite being a Titanium Marriott Bonvoy member, I did not manage to get an upgrade to a suite. I understand that many suites here are reserved for VIP guests who frequent the casino, but it was still a pity as I had hoped to experience the JW Marriott Macau suite, which I understand is excellent.
There was also a minor issue with the room initially having a cigarette smell. The staff responded promptly by bringing in an air purifier, which helped, and as a gesture they also provided a bottle of red wine. While not ideal, it was handled professionally and did not materially affect the overall stay.
Breakfast was excellent, both in quality and variety. We arrived close to closing time one morning and noticed there were no more chicken wings available. The chef went out of the way to cook a fresh portion specially for my daughter and personally brought it over. That level of service was genuinely impressive.
This kind of hospitality was not limited to the hotel. It really reflects Macau as a city. Upon arrival, the hotel provides a detailed Macau map prepared by the government, showing where to visit, eat, and how to get around. You can feel that people here genuinely work hard together to give visitors an enjoyable experience.
Back to the hotel itself, this is an excellent family property. The rooftop water park is huge and includes a man-made beach, which children will absolutely love. The executive lounge food was also very good and added to the overall comfort of the stay.
As a frequent Marriott guest, this is still a hotel I would recommend, especially for families. While suite upgrades may be limited due to the nature of the property, the service, facilities, and overall hospitality easily make up for it. Overall, still a good experience, and Macau itself left a very positive impression.
