Don’t usually write reviews but I had to as a warning for other guests. The hotel was great, front desk service was great, view and location were great but… valet put a dent in my car and refused to accept my claim because I reported the dent after leaving the hotel even though it was within 24 hours. I would suggest doing a thorough inspection of your vehicle before leaving your car with valet and after retrieving your vehicle from valet for the final time BEFORE leaving as valet is your only parking option at this hotel. Once again, a great hotel just a very unfortunate valet experience.

We had an incredible stay! A special shoutout to the amazing front desk staff who helped us check out—she was so friendly and accommodating, truly going above and beyond (I’m sorry I forgot her name, but she made our experience even better)!||Also, a huge thanks to the wonderful people working at the pool. The lady was so amazing and made our time there so enjoyable, and the Indian guy we met was brilliant as well—his energy and helpfulness really stood out.||The hotel staff made our friend’s birthday extra special. They upgraded our room, gave us a late 2pm checkout, and even surprised us with champagne, chocolates, and a lovely handwritten note—such a thoughtful touch!||The room was spotless, comfortable, and had an amazing view that we couldn’t get enough of. We had an unforgettable time, and the hotel definitely exceeded our expectations. We’ll absolutely be back for another stay! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a memorable getaway!

Maybe I'm just easily impressed but the JW Marriott Marquis aims to please! Valet: very welcoming upon arrival, greet you, open your door, ask for your info, drop-off is a breeze. They give you the heads-up to text them 25 minutes ahead of your departure so your car will be retrieved. Prompt service every time. No street parking, only valet. Rooms: very updated, clean, spacious. I've stayed in the executive and deluxe rooms. Executive is slightly bigger but the same room. You are given a complimentary robe and water, there's a mini bar ($$ of course). No fridge for leftovers but I've never asked if there were any available. Beds are comfy. Bathroom comes with a shower and tub. Not a huge fan of the square sinks because the leftover bubbles/toothpaste gets stuck in the corners but nothing to fret about. Just fill your glass with water and rinse the sink. Service: A+++ all around. Front desk is welcoming. The app can be used for almost everything: room service, towel service, issues, check out, Uber, etc. My thermostat went out and I sent the hotel a message. The engineer was at my door on the 33rd floor within 5 minutes (I kid you not). Room service introduces themselves and asks to bring your food inside. You can decline and take it from them at the door. Amenities: FULL SIZE GYM FOR THE WIN! Treadmills, free weights, Smith machine, leg press, specific machines, yoga mats, towels, complimentary water...I digress. There's a yoga studio, a spa, basketball court, and other amenities I haven't checked out yet. Of course, there is a "resort fee" of $30 per day but 15 can be used for in room dining or at the cafe. Location: Downtown Miami is downtown anywhere. Foot traffic, traffic traffic. It is what it is. There's a Whole Foods within walking distance and several restaurants to choose from. Hell's Kitchen is right up the block! I've stayed here for 2 weeks and I know I'll stay again. Top notch service every single time. Great views of the city and the river.

I've stayed here multiple times, and I feel this is still one of the best hotels in the city. I have been upgraded every single time, and the rooms were huge with excellent views. And it has the rare executive lounge. And compared to many other properties, both the dollar and point rates are quite reasonable. 10/10 would recommend.

We had an amazing stay at JW Marriott: clean rooms and amazing, kind staff. We were celebrating an engagement and doing bridesmaids proposals in our room and one of the bridesmaids forgot her dress in the room! Luckily we realized an hour after leaving and came back. The front desk was so helpful and understanding, they took it very seriously and were able to get us her dress back! Specifically Eddie and Hannah helped us, and both gave the most amazing customer service I’ve ever experienced. Eddie and Hannah are valuable to this company! Thank you again to the staff for helping us hunt down that dress!

I want to start by saying we were so excited to stay here for our first vacation! Parking: We were highly disappointed in cost to park after paying $500 a night, we ended up paying valet due to the cost of parking rate changing daily. Valet was $75 a night but would rush you in and out to where when we left we had to park and sort everything correctly. Room: We walked into the room and thought this is very cute but not at all what we were expecting for $500 a night. There was smooshed up chocolate by the floor by the bed, there was no microwave, the mini fridge is not usable due to if one of the bottles in there are touched even a little they will charge you. And they recommend not to use it for personal use. We did not see this until the last night of our stay but the wall by the bathtub was disgusting and looks like smeared up chocolate and full hand prints on it. Resort Fee: They did not tell us this until we were checking in but you pay $35 a day to use the pool, gym, basketball court and other amenities. You get $17.50 a day to spend in the hotel but that would hardly cover anything. When we went to use the pool we were told it was closed due to a gala booking the whole floor that the pool , court etc was on for 2 days. This hotel is great but they will charge your account $300 the day you arrive for stuff so I highly recommend to watch your bank account. We reported these issues to the front desk but we are doubtful that anything will come out of it all.

As a platinum Marriott member, it’s difficult to write this as this hotel use to be amazing. This place is dated, old and in dire need of updates. Just stayed there for a few days and here are the issues: 3 of 4 elevators were working, waited up to 5 mins at a time, bed was horribly made, pillows are absolutely awful, tv did not work and would not turn off, shower head was full of mold, water sprayed everywhere/every direction, hotel and room was hot, hotel charged $30 a day for some BS charge only up be able to use $15 a day at a sports bar, gym is old with super old awful treadmills. I would not recommend this place!! Will never stay there again until updated.

Google
Wonderful Marriott in the heart of Brickell, a five minute walk to restaurants in Brickell city Center for shopping. Lovely staff who is very accommodating. Tiny coffee shop on the second floor, which produces surprisingly great food and coffee. Spacious and comfy bedrooms. Be careful not to get caught having to cross the drawbridge upon leaving the hotel. If you’re on a tight schedule, can take up to 20 minutes and they don’t warn you. Amazing hotel!

Yelp
Each and every staff member was great. Helpful and professional. Checkin was excellent. They gave me a very lovely room immediately even though I arrived long before their official checkin time. Room was fantastic. Great views and a very comfortable bed.

Yelp
I recently stayed at the JW Marriott Marquis in downtown Miami, a sleek, modern hotel perfectly situated for exploring the city's vibrant neighborhoods. While there were many highlights to my stay, a few issues, particularly with the front-desk service, left me with mixed feelings. Here's a breakdown of my experience: Location: The hotel's downtown location is incredibly convenient, making it a quick 10-15 minute drive to key areas like Brickell, South Beach, Wynwood, and Little Havana. Whether you're here for business or leisure, the central positioning provides easy access to Miami's hotspots. Ambiance & Amenities: The interior of the JW Marriott Marquis exudes modern sophistication. The lobby is adorned with contemporary art. The hotel boasts a variety of impressive amenities, including: - Pool and bar - Bowling Alley - Spa: Offers services like a 15-minute head and shoulder massage included in the daily destination fee - Gym & NBA-sized Basketball Court - Mediterranean restaurant & Sports Bar Cafe - Free water bottles are provided both in the rooms and at the front desk, ensuring you stay hydrated throughout your visit Room: My room featured a stunning view of the city, a modern desk, and a spacious bathroom equipped with both a shower and a bathtub. Additional conveniences included a fridge and a hairdryer, though notably, there was no microwave. The room was immaculately clean, and the TV offered a comprehensive selection of channels/services (such as the ability to watch Netflix), as one would expect from a newer hotel. Daily Destination Fee: The $42 daily destination fee covers a range of "use it or lose it" perks, such as: - A 15-minute head and shoulder massage. - A small spa gift (lotion). - 2 tickets to the nearby Pérez or Frost museum. - $42 daily food and beverage credit. - Enhanced high-speed internet. However, the lack of clear communication about how to utilize these benefits led to confusion. Initially, I was unsure if we could use multiple benefits or just one per day. This oversight resulted in not fully utilizing the $42 food and beverage credit, which was frustrating. Service: While the service was generally good, my experience was marred by inconsistent and confusing front-desk interactions. On the last day, we sought clarity on using our $42 credit from the first day. Brandon M. assured us we could apply it to our lunch on the last day and promised to apply it manually before he left work. Unfortunately, the credit was never applied, and subsequent attempts to rectify the issue over the phone were met with refusal and a lack of accountability from the front desk. This mishandling of the situation left a sour note on an otherwise enjoyable stay. Final Thoughts: The JW Marriott Marquis has a lot to offer regarding location, amenities, and overall ambiance. The rooms are comfortable, the hotel is beautifully designed, and the range of facilities is impressive. However, the unclear communication regarding the daily destination fee benefits and the disappointing resolution of our credit issue significantly impacted my overall experience.

Yelp
This review is for Guest Service ONLY and not regarding an overnight stay (since I was technically in the 'hotel within a hotel' of Beaux Arts) but it was the front desk that created the first impression on arrival, since everything has to start with the JWMM lobby. All I wanted to do was check my hand-held tote with bell services while I headed out to a lunch reservation that would be starting soon. I was told they'd need to check if my room was ready early, and I should join the line to get that researched. I advised that even if the room was ready, I would not be going to it as I needed to be a lunch venue soon and all I wanted to do was check my tote in. I was told again I needed to get in line to have that researched. Since it wasn't possible to accomplish my goal, I had to take my bag with me to lunch. When I returned to the hotel from lunch, I needed to request the front desk personnel give me elevator access to the upper floor for Beaux Arts check-in. I encountered the exact same gentleman who then asked if I had a reservation. I said Yes. I was then asked if I'd checked my bag earlier. It was in my hand as we spoke. I was shown the elevator and told which floor to exit for check-in. This didn't feel right. I got on the elevator with a few other guests and without an active keycard the desired button couldn't be chosen after the door closed. Luckily there was another team member who was able to use their master keycard to get me where I needed to go. That evening after an extremely delicious dinner downstairs, I was waiting on the next available elevator to get me back to my room, and there was a guest service team member continuing to bring others from behind us into the elevators. They were all high school students who were attending their prom in the ballroom one floor up. I was not in a rush, so I simply accepted that more than a dozen people were given access ahead of me, on two separate elevators. This is a Marriott property that is widely known for its service standards, and I do truly believe that my experience was a fluke, but it did happen, and it did create a lasting impression of this hotel for me.

Yelp
When we checked in here on Sunday, I felt sure I was going to leave rating this place 5-stars. Unfortunately, after our 5-night stay, I can't in good conscience leave a perfect or even near-perfect rating. First, the good: We arrived early in the afternoon and were able to check in early, a bit before 1pm. The room! Wow! We were in a normal king room, and were placed in a corner room on the 30th floor with a nice view of the port where we could check out the cruise ships coming and going. There's a big desk with a comfortable chair for working, as well as another comfy chair to sit in and read or watch tv. The bathroom is spacious and includes a beautiful tub and separate shower, plus a tv in the mirror to enjoy while you bathe or get ready. Everything was clean and we were extremely comfortable. It was a little difficult to regulate the temperature in the room (the only options were "auto" and "off" so it was always either blowing hot or cold air), but otherwise was great. There is no mini fridge in the room (only a mini bar), however, you can call to order one, which we did after bringing back some leftovers. The fridge was delivered to us promptly. It was very wobbly (seemed like it was missing a leg?) but we folded a towel under the low side and it was fine. Now, the not-so-great: We went to the pool on Sunday after checking in and ordered a couple of cocktails from the pool bar. The drinks we received were served in teeny-tiny cups full of ice and were not strong at all. Thankfully we decided not to order a second round because when the bill came, it was over $50 BEFORE gratuity--for two tiny, weak drinks! There was no itemized receipt so I couldn't see the breakdown of why it was so expensive (I should have asked, but was too shocked). I'm not stingy, but for that price tag, I would expect some damn good drinks. Halfway through Monday (around noon), the internet completely cut out on all our devices while we were working. We contacted the front desk and they reported it to the IT department. It stayed out for the entire workday and into the night, so I completely lost out on half a day's work. I started panicking around 9pm when the internet still wasn't fixed, worrying I might have to spend the next day at a cafe (horrendous for meetings). The front desk couldn't provide any updates or estimates other than saying the whole hotel was out and the IT department was working on it. The staff we interacted with were all very nice and apologized for the inconvenience. When I went to bed, the internet was still out and I had a hard time sleeping because I was worrying about what would happen tomorrow. Luckily the internet was back up and running when I got up at 7am so I started working right away... and then it dropped again around 3:30pm. I couldn't believe it was happening again and worried how long it would be this time. I was anxious to keep working as I was in the middle of something when it cut out, but I didn't get much of an opportunity because the internet was out until around 8:30pm. I wound up staying up late to get some work done just in case the internet went down again the next day. Thankfully that was the end of the internet problems during my stay, but by that point I was constantly worrying that it was going to happen again. All that being said, I would absolutely stay here again IF and only if I were on vacation and did not have any obligation to work. Being in this hotel and needing to work was an extremely stressful experience.

Yelp
We reserved a two bed room and when got there they didn't have any so my wife and had to sleep on the floor....how do you reserve more room with two beds then you have?! It's mind boggling.....the didn't seem to care about it either.....For a high end hotel it sure fell short on customer service

Yelp
Excellent attention to detail in the room. The only negative was the concierge lounge food - cold. Drink vouchers seemed nice, but the drinks weren't good. Nice gym. The restaurant was wonderful, however. Awesome location - walking distance to restaurants and the water.

Yelp
The JW Marriott Marquis is a class act and exceptional in 9/10 categories for business travel. The staff is very professional and treats guests in a welcoming, responsive, respectful and accommodating manner. They are very attentive. The property itself is beautiful. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms well appointed and crisp, while at the same time comfortable. I highly recommended this hotel.

Yelp
We haven't stayed in Miami in a looong time, and booked here for a quick two night visit. Primary purpose was to visit friends at Cote Miami, secondarily to spend an evening people watching on the beach strip, and finally, ride an airboat in the Everglades before we humans ruin it permanently. The room was spacious with the remnants if a great view - ruined by some behemoth building under construction next door. Plusses: - Bed was super comfortable - Boulud Sud in the lobby was outstanding - staff was super helpful - huge work desk in room - they arranged airboat transportation and trip Minuses: - no soap in room upon check in - coffee in-room was espresso only - parking $55 a night (it IS Miami, but $55?) Location is not super convenient to restaurants or the popular design district (bring a barf bag there - the gaudiness is mind numbing), but there is a Whole Foods and CVS a block away. UBER was a fine solution. Overall we were pleased and would stay here again.

Yelp
We just stayed one night in preparation for a cruise. We decided to have a cocktail at the bar on the 2nd floor and had a great time with our servers especially Carla who hooked us up with a fantastic Peruvian restaurant that was within a short walking distance and was fabulous! The hotel is extremely comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay!

Yelp
First off I arrived early in the morning and the staff were able to accommodate me to check in early. Once I got to the room, it was more than I expected. I had one of their suites which was spacious and well maintained. My only complaint about the room was the lighting. It's one of the rooms you have to insert the card to activate the power. Still it's not enough lighting in the living room or bedroom. They offered a free 30 minute massage which I was able to take advantage of. Nice little perk. There are a couple restaurants on site where I had lunch and dinner. Both were good and convenient. Now the bad part. I had a friend come over and the valet attendants were hassling her. I had to step in to get things situated. It was very strange, unprofessional and I have never experienced that at a hotel before. It also took over 30 mins to get her car back. 10-15 mins is standard. Anything more is excessive. Overall, I would like to recommend staying there but I have been to Miami several times and usually stay in South Beach. Downtown isn't a location I would stay again. Just not anything around that's worthwhile especially given the exorbitant prices.

Yelp
Front the moment I step out of my Uber the staff treated me with first class attention. The staff at check in were so nice and helpful. Definitely am staying here again. And the view from my 35th floor room was EVERYTHING

Yelp
Stayed here prior to Disney cruise leaving from nearby port of Miami. Spacious rooms with a nice view. Pool was great, pretty big exercise room, and perfect location walkable to Whole Foods and taking a strong along the water. Breakfast was ok. Nice looking breakfast room but scrambled eggs could be a lot better. Smoked salmon yummy and appreciate the complimentary Naked smoothies. Lounge was ok too. Expansive room but evening and afternoon items could have been better. That said, with staffing issues across the hospitality industry, it's understandable. This property will get a nice upgrade as they were working on a leisure room with foosball and two bowling lanes and maybe something else although there will be a resort fee. Service was very good.

Yelp
there is very godo staff in this. hotel I like the elevators but I did not like the spa I had my kids with me and they didn't let me bring them to the floor because you have to be 18+ to be able to go in the the spa. other than that I would go back there !!!

brian w.

Yelp
Where to start. Here for 2 nights before a cruise. The photos on their website must be old or photoshopped. This place is a dump. Ac wasn't working the first few hours we were there. One of our tv's didn't work, never fixed. Wanted an after dinner drink around 10:30 the cafe/bar was closed. BTW the cafe doubles as the bar in the evening! Taking a very old hotel and throwing some awful new furniture in it doesn't really work.
google avatar

L L.

Yelp
This hotel is not really convenient if you are driving. There are some fast food and small stores (with Whole Food) a few blocks away. Many more interesting restaurants or places require Uber rides. The hotel itself was nice. The staff upgraded me to a corner room and the view was fantastic. The bed was comfortable. The only complaint I had was dusty furniture. It was obvious that the room was not used for a while (probably due to the pandemic) and cleaned a few months ago. This hotel really needs to have a procedure cleaning a "cleaned" room once in a while.

Yelp
Amazing experience. Definitely returning. Our concierges Andres and Miguel made the whole difference. They recommended some of the best spots in the area and were accessible to assist in everything I needed. Love the location and the amenities. JW doesn't Gail to amaze!

Yelp
Beautiful room - strong service oriented staff - restaurant has amazing food & pool is just lovely.

Yelp
Rooms including the bathroom are good size with a nice layout. Walls are thick enough that you don't hear much noise from other rooms. One odd feature however is you have to put your room key in this slot near the door in order to turn all the lights on in the room and bathroom. Not sure why other than this might be some environmental play to get guest to use less juice?? Meeting rooms are solid. My company had two days of conferences there and I have no complaints. They have a nice gym. In house restaurant was good for both breakfast and dinner. I stress good not great. The bar situation was ok. Too small with limited selections. They need more elevators. You often have to wait considerable time to get one. Service also could have been better. When I checked in there was only one person working the desk and that created a long line. None of her coworkers helped out. A total lack of team play. Overall it was a decent enough business travel experience but I wouldn't stay their for pleasure.

Yelp
QUICKIE REVIEW Located downtown, just quick Uber ride away from South Beach, Brickell, or Wynwood. PARKING Not that I saw. They had valet available for $60 a night. There is a Courtyard less than 2 blocks away with a parking garage available that charges $20 a night (not to be confused with Courtyard's garage that charges $40 a night). SERVICE Did not use any. ROOM Was upgraded to an executive room, which I have to say was really nice. Their bathtub offers a view outside (careful as there is a building in front of you depending on which side you are on). Bedroom was comfy and living room seems good to host guest for a game. PRICE Prices vary at the hotel depending if you apply AAA, government, or regular price. OTHER THOUGHTS 36th floor has a lounge overlooking the water (requires lounge access). If you can catch it for sunset, it is nice. They also serve hors d'oeuvre in the later afternoon, early evening. The lounge on the second floor does serve breakfast but it is a little underwhelming considering how nice everything else is in the hotel. You are not missing anything if you just get a room without lounge access. Plenty of restaurants around. On the 19th floor is their game room which is pretty wicked. They have everything from pool, virtual bowling, virtual golf, to air hockey and more. If you were looking to kill some time with a friend, you could do it there.

Clarissa J.

Yelp
Not Safe - had personal items stolen and Marriott couldn't have cared less. Their Valet parkers help themselves to anything in your car with no accountability. I've had great experiences at The Mandarin Oriental and The Four Seasons, but this was my first and last time at Marriott Marquis.

Yelp
I feel compelled even though I do not have the time to write a review but I feel in this case 'the pen is mightier than the sword' so here I go. I needed to book a last minute room in Miami for a meeting the following morning. I booked my room at The Luxury Beaux Arts Marriott on the top floors of this building. I made this reservation at 6:00 PM and was going to drive to Miami and told then I'd arrive at 12:00 midnight or thereabouts -- upon checkin, at 12:20 AM, they advised they had no rooms. At 12:50 the inept front desk team finally gave me a suite in the Marriott Marquis on a lower floor. The main reason I am writing a review here rather than Marriott is that they never sent me a folio as they knew I was not happy at $750 for the night and the melee at the front desk. True to form -- no folio, thus no invite to write a review. The most unsettling issue to me is this: They took a reservation from me at 6 P.M. and my assistant called them to advise I'd be in after midnight and they assured her that they would be ready for me. IT IS CLEAR TO ME THAT THESE LARGE HOTEL CHAINS OVERBOOK WITH THE EXPECTATION THAT THEY WILL HAVE CANCELLATIONS OR NO SHOWS IN WHICH THEY THEN MAY CHARGE FOR THE ROOM AND PLACE ANOTHER CLIENT INTO THE ROOM. I am a lifetime platinum (ex Starwood) and it is pure criminal activity what these large hotel chains are getting away with. The DOJ should investigate all of these horrible places and it is nowhere near a 4 star hotel. No close. Beware and if you must stay here, adjust your expectations downward.....alot. The Marriott brand is getting very long in the tooth.

Yelp
At a glance, this seems like a fun property. Unfortunately, there appears to be a lot of management issues. The poor rating stems not from it being worse than other hotels out there but not living up to the reputation of its name or what it advertises. Frustratingly, at check-in the new receptionist gave off the false impression she was upgrading my room based on my Titanium status (there were larger rooms available for the duration of my stay) but she didn't (can I have my tip back, please?). Hotels that don't recognize their most loyal brand customers really need remediation. This particular one could probably find remediation from the excellent W Hotel a block south. This is probably the first hotel where the afternoon hors d'oeuvre spread in the lounge blows away the breakfast (on the second floor). They have rotating hot foods in the evening (chicken, fish, veggie sandwiches, meatballs, empanadas) and a splendid concierge lounge host named Bertha. She's awesome - really the saving grace of the property - promote her! The breakfast is rivaled by some of the better Fairfield Inn's out there. The coffee machine spits out burnt coffee so I prefer to use the functional pod fed one in the room (but you have to guess what the colors mean because the Blue colored pods aren't actually on the guide). The $28 amenity fee includes internet (FYI, ensure they discount your amenity fee if you're an elite), a virtual bowling alley, virtual golf simulator, media room (with a leak in the ceiling), billiards, air hockey, and fuse ball. I did the math on this, at 313 rooms that's $7,800 a day in fees or a cool $2.8 million a year. You'd think they be able to have a set of golf clubs that aren't either a.) broken in half (the right handed club head is separated from the driver), b.) had tees for the simulator, or c.) had a giant dent in the right handed wood. A set of clubs would 0.010714% of the annual fees they bring in. I did the math. It's near impossible to find a bowling ball with the correct sizing for normal hands. The basketball court is off limits without paying an additional fee. Stay at the W Brickell over this property. You'd be crazy otherwise.

Yelp
I love love the location and the view but think the hotel needs to be updated: my bathroom had a cracked granite countertop, the shower door swings open and hits the wall, the bed was sunken in... The staff was super nice! They recommended some good eats.

Yelp
I have to make a comment about the valet parking. I visited to have dinner at Boulud Sud Miami restaurant. Upon our arrival, we asked the manager how the parking works if we were just going to dine. He advised that the parking is complimentary if we dine, we just have to get the ticket validated. Upon getting the bill, we realized that was not the case. The parking charge was $12. We brushed it off and just paid it, even though we were provided incorrect information. Waiting for the car was a total disaster! I actually timed it all because I was texting my boyfriend. This is what happened: my sister and I gave in our separate valet tickets at the same time. We waited 21 minutes for her to get her car. After that, I see the valet attendant give the valet driver, Jasmine, MY key. As I asked her about it, she confirmed that it was my key. After she left, I waited THIRTY TWO minutes to get my car. There is no reason as to why Jasmine had to take so long to get the car. This was the first car she was getting because I actually saw her clocking in or coming back from break. Who knows what she did with my car! Eduardo was no help whatsoever. The other valet attendants kept coming up to us asking us if we were really still waiting for our car. They were actually concerned as well. Unfortunately because of this experience, these local customers won't be coming back.

Yelp
For my first visit to Miami, I wanted to make sure I had the most comfortable room and board access, especially since I'd heard about the sweltering Miami summers. I splurged for a bay-view King, with concierge lounge access, and left the rest to fate. First, kudos to the room I was given on the 28th floor. I loved the size, the view, and the oh-so comfortable beds. Loved the layout of the desk, reading chairs, and bed. Oh, and the bathroom is huge! Loved it so much I'll easily come back. The front desk staff is courteous, but not necessarily what I consider hospitable. They were nice, but very corporate robotic, which took away from my holiday feel, and I realized it was probably more of a business hotel than a holiday destination. Pity. The concierge area on the second floor is spacious, but the breakfast is really lacking. I mean, they have the staple scrambled eggs, bacon, turkey and pork sausages that most places have, but if you're vegan, the place is terribad. The oatmeal tasted like what I can only imagine is cat vomit. There were a reasonable selection of pastries and bread, but I'm off carbs for a bit, so didn't sample anything. Three different "clean" coffee mugs had lipstick stains, which means that there is to quality control that governs the cleaning. That's always a bad sign for me, which means that I'll rarely, if ever, dine on hotel premises in the future. All in all, I'd definitely stay here again for the room, but I'll likely try some other places first on future visits.

Yelp
I recently had a one night stay at the beautiful property in Brickell . I was very happy with my accommodations . Cleanliness of the room was immaculate. The staff was very professional. I did forget valuables in my room safe after I had checked out. And I contacted guest services and they were fantastic. Rober , Shay, Jose and Ken acted quickly to recover my valuables. I felt like I was in good hands at all times. I'll definitely return to stay here again. Thanks to all the staff at JW Marriott Marquis Miami.

Yelp
PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU BOOK: Hello! I hope this review is concise enough to where you'll save your money and NOT STAY HERE. First, I'll state the positives because even though we were horribly mistreated, the venue and location of this particular JW is spectacular! As planned, my spouse and I booked a standard king on the 30th floor and fell in love with the layout and views. HOWEVER, the disrespect "one" receives from the Valet attendants, Valet manager, security manger, and predominantly male staff members is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE! I used the term "one" instead of we in the previous statement because before I booked the hotel, I checked every platform of reviews. What I found and what you'll surely find is that most people have problems with the valet service. 55$ a night on top of your expensive bill already is a hard pill to swallow. YET, once I tell you how terrible the valet treated a loyal JW Marriott member, you'll shake in your boots. We drove our 2017 Porsche Macan to this "5 star" hotel all the way from Michigan! 1,400 miles and we encountered zero problems. My spouse even went above and beyond by doing a maintenance check at the Porsches Jacksonville dealership prior to our arrival at the JW, to ensure a safe trip. We arrive at the JW 1/14/21 in the late evening with no problems, cleared of maintenance, and every tire at the correct PSI. We hand the Miami native our key fob, along with a nice tip, and tiredly retreat to our room. The next morning were excited and ready to venture onto the Miami streets not knowing what's to come. The valet is extremely unprofessional and unorganized. It took way too much time to retrieve our car and when we finally received it, THERE WAS A NAIL IN THE BACK LEFT TIRE! At this point I'm trying to maintain my composure and report my issue. To be positive, SUE THE CONCIERGE IS AMAZING. She initially received my complaint, and handled it professionally. When a valet worker and the security manager came to get involved the situation escalated. Sue brought them to us in hopes of resolving the issue but instead they began badgering and disrespecting me so much so, Sue (the concierge) came from behind the desk and broke off their ranting. My spouse was tending to the nail in our Porsche Macan at the time, when a valet worker hovering over him RIPPED HIS IGNITION STARTER FROM ITS GEAR! He said he thought it was his key, meanwhile my spouse has the key in his hand. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. 1500$ for 3 nights just to leave with the sourest taste in your mouth. Livid is not the word to express how we feel, but we hope this review steers you into another direction! Enjoy your day, thank you for reading :)

Yelp
Amazingly clean hotel rooms, excellent service, nice pool and views on the 19th floor, and super posh rooms. I've never had a built-in TV in the bathroom mirror before. Such luxurious baths with soaker tubs and stand up showers. Comfortable bed, spacious rooms, room service that comes in and cleans in the afternoon too. Highly recommend this hotel for your stay - 15 minute cab ride to South Beach.

Yelp
Valet was awful. I am a traveling hairstylist and was here not even for an hour and they charged me $25.00 for parking. I explained to them that during a pandemic I am putting myself of of my comfort zone to work and pay my bills and they had no sympathy whatsoever. The manager even refused to speak to me. Absolute no compassion. A disgrace.

Yelp
We were never meant to stay at this hotel during our trip to Miami. We were scheduled to fly back in the evening from Fort Lauderdale on January 6 after a lovely 4 day family Miami Beach vacation. However, the tragic events that unfolded at the airport meant that all flights were cancelled and I was only able to rebook us out of Miami on Jan 8. I was thinking of rebooking in the same or other hotels on Miami Beach but decided to stay downtown instead. I was very happy with this hotel. The JW is Marriott's luxury line and it is very clear why this is the case. The service from the moment you enter the hotel is impeccable. They gave us a lovely room on the 31st floor overlooking the city and the water. Their lounge on the 36th floor provides breathtaking views. The lounge also provides a very nice complementary breakfast for gold members --- eggs, bacon, croissants, muffins, cheeses, drinks, etc. In the evening the lounge provides refreshments from 5-7:30P, which included a variety of well appointed little plates featuring large coconut shrimp, mini corn dogs, goat cheese, etc. Very tasteful and delicious. The concierge at this hotel was incredibly helpful and suggested various things to do in the city. And I should mention, I was able to find a really great last minute rate at this hotel. An exquisite overall experience. Kudos to Marriott.

Yelp
I got a massage with hot stones in the JW Marriott spa and it was amazing. Soara, my massage therapist, was phenomenal. She was friendly, professional, and receptive to feedback during the massage. I really enjoyed the stretches she had me do to address the kinks in my shoulders and hamstrings. After the massage, I spent about an hour relaxing in the spa lounge area followed by decompressing in the steam room. The lounge area had comfortable sofas, relaxing music, magazines, complimentary tea and fruit, and a beautiful view of the Miami bay from the 20th floor. A truly relaxing experience for both mind and body! I highly recommend Soara!

Yelp
Stayed here for two nights during the El Clasico match in July 2017. As a Marriott Platinum, I was upgraded to the King Suite - a really fantastic room with separate living, bedroom, and bathroom areas. The hotel is located downtown, and you really need to head out to get any sense of entertainment. Given it's location, there are several things to do in the hotel - the pool (relatively small, outdoor, metal), a full basketball court (must pay), virtual bowling, foosball, air hockey, ping pong, etc. I had a 9-year old, so his attention span was quickly lost. Next time, I will be sure to find a Marriott property on or close to the beach. Definitely a luxurious property, just not suited to our traveling party given the kids. No complaints - excellent service throughout!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I went to Miami for her birthday celebration and decided to stay at the JW Marriott Marquis. Andres, Nestor, and Valentina were all amazing. We stayed in the corner room on the 35th floor and the views of the bay were stunning. The hotel was also very clean and well situated by many shops and restaurants. Andres, the chief concierge was also very accommodating and made us feel like we were family. We will definitely be back again soon, and are excited that we found a home in Miami. Thanks again guys.

Yelp
The suite we stayed in was incredible. We had a corner view that overlooked the pool and a little bit of the water. It was very quiet, the staff was very helpful. The gym was also massive and amazing. The only downfall I'd say is that the pool is absolutely not heated (as advertised). When I asked if the pool was heated or if it could be heated the staff ignored me. I'd recommend this if you're staying for more than 3 days otherwise it might be a waste of money. Use their amenities!

Yelp
I'm having an amazing time at the Hispanicize conference, and I would like to Thank the JW Marriott for their hospitality. I didn't want to do Valet parking to save money but it turns out that parking outside on the street or any other public parking here in downtown miami could cost you for the whole day around $40. Thank God they had a special price, and I could Valet my car for the two days I came in here for $25 per day. Restrooms, conference rooms, elevators, and pool area, where all impeccable and ready for what the conference had prepared. I was very cold on the second day but other than that I loved my experience in here. They had water with fruits in every floor, and candy at every conference room. The dinner at the awards show was delicious, fresh, and nicely presented. They decorated the room beautifully. The best part of our stay was the outstanding service. Omg this people hosted this conference for all of us so easily and well done, with a huge smile on their faces and ready to help. From the guys at the Valet, to the Security ladies, to the food service people. Thank you so much!

Yelp
I'm sadly to say; This is not a 4 star hotel.. they do not recognize if you're a Marriott Member or not. I have severe asthma and they do not have any fans to bring.. It was more how the staff responded they were RUDE and unwilling to listen to my health concerns. Pay the Extra 150$ and stay the four seasons! As a Marriott Gold member I am very DISAPPOINTED! Don't expect to check in till 3:50.. we arrived at 12 and weren't able to get in (which is okay bc check in is at 4) BUT they didn't even give us a guest key to use the pool or fitness room while we waited... WORSE MARRIOTT EVER.

Yelp
Ernesto displayed great customer service and hospitality!! I arrived at the hotel early and was prepared to wait in the lobby until check-in time but Ernesto went the extra mile to let me know that a room might be available early and it was. Knowing that I had a early flight he told me to always think positive because I was prepared to just wait in the lobby for a few hours. I will definitely be back !! -Stephen C

Yelp
This hotel may have been the prime spot ten years ago, but it has quickly gone downhill. The staff at check in is slow (or not enough of them). The rooms are dated, with white carpeting that is stained and feel gross. They closed the pool for a private event on a weekend of spring break...not that the pool was that great anyway. It's small, and was crowded. The basketball court you must pay to use but there is no mention of that on the website. Woke up at 1:30 am to the smell of pot (also elevators reeked of it)...if that tells you anything about the other "families" staying here. Keys only work sometimes. Had to wait in line 10 minutes just to get a replacement key because only one guy was working the desk, even though two other staff members stood by and watched him work. Maybe he was training, but when you're four deep with customers, perhaps one should step in to help? Pros: Location is close to the bay. Gym was big with nice views and beds are comfortable. Pool table and Ping pong table in fitness area was convenient for kids. Rooms are good size and big tub, if you like that kind of thing. Just did not feel like this was worth the $400 a night, when you can find a nicer Airbnb close by with better and cleaner amenities. Would not stay here again nor recommend to friends.

Yelp
We weren't sure what to expect when we booked this hotel for our last trip. We hadn't stayed anywhere near the site and the site isn't in the best area. Upon arrival we were greeted by a valet area pretty backed up but still efficient. Walking into the lobby you are hit with sophistication, cleanliness and a hustle and bustle. I was upgraded, which at the time didn't mean much to me...I'm usually upgraded at Marriott due to my status. I was told my room was on the 34th floor and the concierge room was on the 35th. You have to swipe your card to get to you floor, when I exited I noticed all the signs said "suites". Okay then....I enter my room and wowza! Legit could live there, clean lines, all windows, up to date bathroom with a tv in the mirror. Unfortunately I only slept and showered there :( I wasn't able to enjoy all the amenities like the bathtub and the salts for the bath. The shower needed some type of bench, it was big and hard to shave your legs in. First world problems I know.... Concierge room had a beautiful view of Miami and the water, all the food options were on point. I would stay there again, price wasn't bad at all. Unsure the price of parking, it was on my coworkers tab.

Yelp
This hotel has some good and a lot that's not so good. It bills itself as a major luxury brand so that's what the expectations are when you book what they called "The best suite in the hotel," which was the Bay View Suite. To start with, what hotel says that your room is not ready at 7:45pm? We had to wait an extra 20 minutes even though we had reservations to be somewhere. They at least gave us a free glass of wine. The girl at the front desk was saying how nice we were compared to all of the mean people she spoke with during the day. Well, maybe people are mean who are having the same problems getting to their room that we had. We just aren't jerks by nature but this was just a bad look in general. The 2nd problem was that I called 3 days ahead of time and requested a refrigerator for our room and when we checked in, there wasn't one and they said it would be 24 hours which is unacceptable because I had reserved it at the time and they said one would be there. Now I will venture on to the mini bar. What mini-bar doesn't chill all of the things inside it including the champagne? I thought it was broken but was told that it doesn't chill anything and that we have to use ice to chill the items in there. How odd is that? So if my wife wants a glass of champagne to start the night, she has to go get a bucket of ice and chill it for an hour? I guess it wouldn't matter because there are no glasses to pour it into anyway. The next day, I requested two wine glasses be sent up because there weren't any to begin with and the first thing that the robot said who was working on Thursday 12/28 at 6pm was to check the slots and after I said that there weren't any there, she told me that it would be a $3 room charge to bring them up. I asked why we would have to pay for glasses that should have been there in the first place and robot said in a huff that it required an effort to send someone up to bring them. On Saturday, we requested a room cleaning and prepared to be out for 3-4 hours and when we came back, it still wasn't cleaned but they were "Going to send someone right up." I was hoping that it wasn't going to be just like when they were going to send someone up to open the Concierge Lounge that was locked in the middle of the day. We waited for 15 minutes and nobody every showed. The problems with this hotel lie in the operations and the lack of Customer Service. They just don't seem to care enough to take that extra effort to ensure the guests are enjoying their stay. It's like once you get there, you are on your own so don't expect much help. I have read other reviews that had complaints about their rooms not being serviced and cleaned so that seems to be a theme here. The bed was great and the room is nice. The shower was big and the amenities were nice except they took the old shampoo in the shower and didn't replace it with a new shampoo.

Yelp
This is my third night here and the room, bathroom and view is amazing BUT a suite that isn't sound proof for neighbors just ruins my rest. Not only do they have their tv on all night, yesterday they tried to break in my suite through the connecting room WHILE I was in my room and hear this happening! Also there is a water pressure problem, so every time the neighbors flush or shower, a loud noise comes through. Another complaint: housekeeping service was specifically requested and confirmed by front desk and housekeeping for a certain time. Coming home from work exhausted in the evening, the room not even made up! Had to call several times to finally have it done by 7.30pm. It just blows my mind that such a high end hotel gives all these problems. I switch staying in the suites of Hilton or Kimpton but wanted to come here as they were assuring optimal service after hurricane Irma. The room service food was ok but nothing spectacular. It does come pretty fast. Location is awesome and close to many restaurants and stores. Easy access for car service. Great facilities as a gym. But my night rest matters and a nasty neighbor just ruined that easily. Not a problem I experience in the other hotels where you don't have the communicating doors in the suites.

Yelp
Renovated Marriott but dirty. Came into my first room and there was pubic hair on the toilet. I was moved to a corner room which was better but still felt dirty and old. Scratches on headboard of bed, stains in carpet. What a disappointment. Won't stay here again. Too bad for JW. Location is confusing too. All around one way streets. Trust.

Yelp
Great hotel, clean, housekeeping all around great except for a few points. There's no complementary breakfast, even as an elite member. In order to receive it, you must be on the concierge level of the hotel. There was a jacuzzi bathtub and shower provided in the room. Didn't try the tub, because there were toenail shavings in it. The view was beautiful and all. The pool area was cool. You can see the entire port and water view of Miami. There is a game floor, which includes a pool table, virtual bowling and golf, table hockey, etc. Additionally, yoga classes are provided throughout the day.

Yelp
I can't stand fancy hotels that try to be stylish instead of practical. The bathroom door is frosted and right next to the bed. If you are sharing the room and need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night or your partner wakes up earlier than you do, the bright lights in the bathroom will shine through the clear door and wake the other person up. On top of all that the phone also started beeping on us in the middle of the night waking us up. We are on one of the top floors and you can still hear construction noises from up here. I called down to see if the hotel offered sleep masks or could do anything to help obscure the bathroom light and they told me no. I absolutely hate hotels that have stupid designs. Hotels should try making their rooms sleepable before building frivolous amenities like basketball courts and virtual bowling alleys. The AC in the room also barely works and there aren't enough drawers for 2 people staying a week. There should be a warning on their website that a room with a king bed is not actually meant for 2 people as there is neither enough room for clothes or a way for 1 person to sleep while the other person pees. The executive lounge is nice at night with a variety of hot appetizers, crudite, cheese and charcuterie. The lounge attendant was very hospitable and brought us cookies and made to order coffee drinks. I was not that impressed with the breakfast buffet in the morning, only a small step above a Fairfield Inn.

Yelp
Horrible experience. When we arrived at valet no one helped us with our bags. They gave us a luggage cart to do it ourselves. When we were visibly struggling with the bags the people working there just stood there and watched. The hotel rooms had tables missing paint, there was gum on the hallway table, no room service. There is a restaurant downstairs but the staff is very rude. By 6pm our rooms weren't clean. Valet takes FOREVER to bring your car. One of us had a suite that had a connecting room that wasn't ours. The lock to the door was a simple little lock. All of the money in our safe was taken. Absolutely horrible horrible experience. Will never stay here again. BEWARE!

Yelp
Beautiful hotel in downtown Miami. Attended a Charity Gala event, and every single detail was carefully crafted. From the flowers arrangements, to the mimes, the silver human statues, the live fun band and of course, the magnificent food. Happy to see they were ready to serve vegan options without making any fuzz. Our table's maitre acknowledged me being vegan from the first course, and from there everything served was accordingly. Always happy to share beautiful memories for a great cause.

Yelp
Very nice hotel. For the rate I expected more. Not great value but the location is top notch if you want downtown Miami and not Miami Beach. The front desk staff is A+, Nadia welcomed me professionally. I really enjoyed the medium sized and quiet pool. Very relaxing and drinks and towel service were flawless. I did not have time to check out any of the restaurants or bars in the hotel as there are many walking distance and I had my eye set on a few in advance. The room has everything one could need. This is a 5 star hotel so it better has them. You can valet or self park at the tower where hotel sits, either way it has a cost. Hotel facilities are new and well mantained. I really enjoyed the gym and yoga room. They even have 4 bowling lanes. There is no spa, sauna or steam room. But the view for the cardiovascular equipment can't be beat. If needed I will not mind at all staying here. Although for a very similar price range I enjoy the viceroy next door more. This one is more business executive clientele.

Yelp
I visited the other JW Marriott in Brickell which was excellent but wanted to try this JW Marriott Marquis. The room was phenomenal and the hotel have a lot of amenities. I was fortunate to receive the penthouse room on the 41 floor which was very beautiful with a great view. I had the change to experience the presidential suite at the other JW Marriott and that room was to die for. I only stayed here one night so I didn't get a chance to check out the pool. I notice that they have some shops, fitness room, theater room, virtual bowling and many more things. They charge a $25 nightly amenity fee to enjoy those things. When I first arrived at the hotel. The valet guys immediately opened my door and escorted my luggage to the check in desk in return for a tip. Check in was smooth and the guy at the front desk was welcoming and nice. I checked out their bar which was on the second floor I believe. I ordered a drink and some food. Of course their food and drinks were a bit pricey. And the food wasn't good for the amount I spend. The next day when I checked out, an hispanic woman with an accent checked me out. It all started from here in which I had to cut this hotel rating by 2 stars. I was upset in the fact that the hotel was charging my card $56 for 17hrs of a parked car with Valet. To me that is outrageous..I didn't like how the front desk woman handle the situation at all and she knew we was upset on being charged that amount and was confused about the whole process.. when I left and went to the valet booth to get my key. This heavier hispanic women gave my boyfriend a hard time in getting his keys. She wanted to verify if he paid for the valet which was none of her business and she was over stepping her boundary. She made us very upset and at the point we gotten aggravated with the level of customer service from a high end hotel such as the JW Marriott. Next time I am going to stick with the other JW Marriott in Brickell or the one in Aventura. Their service is way much better and I wasn't over charged their either. Its ashamed how this hotel is very costly but some of their workers ruin the outlook of the hotel.

Yelp
Great hotel and if lucky the best views. The rooms are big and clean. Great bathroom and desk area. I love the game room, gym and a full size basketball court inside.
