"Set the scene for us.The towering JW Marriott Orlando sits on 500 acres at the headwaters of the Florida Everglades. Step through the grand, marble-tiled lobby to the outdoor patio and relax with a glass of wine by the fire pit, where you can also roast marshmallows for s’mores on special nights. What's the story behind this hotel? As part of the Grande Lakes resort complex, the JW Marriott shares many of its facilities with the neighboring Ritz-Carlton Orlando, including an 18-hole Greg Norman–designed championship golf course and a 40,000-square-foot spa. What are the rooms themselves like?Rooms are spacious and serene with neutral decor and pastel highlights. Business travelers will appreciate the large desk and ergonomic chair; the pillowtop mattress and superb bedding guarantee an excellent night’s sleep. Internet-equipped TVs are primed for Netflix and Hulu. Marble-tiled bathrooms are roomy, with separate walk-in showers and soaking tubs. Once we've settled in, where should we go for our first meal?Whisper Creek Farm: The Kitchen uses ingredients grown onsite to create small plates, which pair nicely with the craft beers. The large, varied breakfast buffet is another highlight. What's the guest demographic like?Half business travelers attending an event in the resort’s 80,000 square feet of meeting space; half stroller-wielding families bopping between theme parks. How does it fit into the surrounding area? The resort is centrally located near Disney World, Universal Orlando, SeaWorld, and the outlet malls, but thanks to its lush, natural setting, it feels removed. Anything else we should be sure to check out if we're staying here? The JW Marriott has one of the best hotel pools in Orlando. Float past waterfalls and under bridges on the lazy river, or take a dip in one of the many onsite pools. Lounge chairs and shade umbrellas are plentiful. So why would you recommend it?This is a conveniently located resort with many benefits of the Ritz-Carlton next door." - Valerie Marino

The resort was beautiful, inside and out, and the beds were comfortable. I was really happy with the noise level on our floor, it was almost non-existent. We did have a sound machine, but still heard nothing at all when we were in our room during the day. I traveled here with my husband and two daughters (9 and 14). With that being said, this resort is far from inexpensive, and I thought it would be easiest to do a pros and cons list for those considering. |PROS-|-Beautiful facilities inside and out (aside from the people that would discard their empty beer cans and drink cups around the pool deck and throughout the lazy river, which was gross)|-Comfortable beds|-Easily accessible elevators|-Excellent room service|-Attentive bell staff and parking employees that delivered and helped check out our luggage when needed;|-Friendly staff mostly everywhere||CONS-|-Since this resort is connected to a conference center, we were there during an incredibly large meeting and so in the afternoons, the pool and lazy river was overcrowded with what can only be described as Bros. Tons of drinks (empties littered around the pool). It was nice to see once they departed there was a lot more room and much more family friendly. |-Staff service was just okay. Typically, if we needed something (towels, etc.) from housekeeping, we had to call a few times before it was actually delivered. This same thing happened with a fridge that we were promised upon check in. We came back from dinner and grocery shopping and it had not been delivered. I then had to call and request it again and we could not go to sleep until it was delivered.|-We had a car on property and chose not to valet. The resort was having issues with the parking arm so it would not accept key cards, and you had to know to call for help in order to be let out of the parking area each time.|-The bathrooms should come standard with a fan; On top of this, one would expect at a luxury resort to have better toilet paper. Single ply is the worst.

Excellent customer service|Kind and courteous service |Clean and neat rooms with prompt response to concerns|The visit to the lounge area was a win win for me and my family. Breakfast food selection was great and taste of food was great. The service from the lounge staff was exceptional each time we visited the lounge. Ms Lois was very helpful and kind. The front desk staff was also great help. Thanks again for an awesome visit!!!

This resort is not what I would consider Marriott standards. Booked a room 6 months in advance and changed my checkin date to 1 day later. Apparently that meant they needed to cancel my reservation and rebook it but into a single bed room. There’s 4 people in my party. When I called they said the best they could do is upgrade to a larger room but I had to pay. It was double my original rate. I have been with Marriott for over a decade and my company uses them but have never had a horrific experience like this. Recommend never staying here. Still trying to figure out where my family will stay. Poor customer service. I sent several emails and phone calls and still no resolve. NEVER STAY HERE FOR ANY REASON!!!!!

We spent 5 nights at the JW in October. It is a good hotel and significantly better priced than Disney properties we have stayed in. Check-in: We arrived later in the evening and go into our rooms quickly. Staff: Most of the staff were pretty good. The pool service was definitely slow and not the best. Rooms: The rooms are average but nice. We had 4 rooms and 1 of them did smell musty and stale, but they moved us right away to another one down the hall. Location: It is 20 minutes or so from Magic Kingdom, Epcot, etc. but it is worth the drive given the money saved staying here. Spa/Gym: They have both but we didn't visit either on our trip. Food/Room Service: Breakfast in the room was tasty. We ate downstairs at Primo twice. It is Italian and was quite good. We didn't get to try any others in the hotel. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will return.

Perfect mother/daughter trip. We had the best time at the JW Marriott Grande Lake! The resort is beautiful, we enjoyed taking walks on the lake— it’s so serene! We loved sitting by the pools at the Marriott and the Ritz. Our favorite restaurant was Primo (for food), but we also loved the experience at Knife and Fork. Would recommend a balcony room so you can have a perfect view of the fireworks show Saturday night (summer only I think) with a DJ and snacks. The waterslide and lazy river at the JW is so much fun (even for adults). I’d highly recommend this resort for anyone visiting Orlando.

Google
Our stay was okay overall—we stayed for five nights. The resort itself is beautiful, with great water activities and good restaurants (though they didn’t feel like great value for money). However, the room left a lot to be desired, especially for a family with small kids. The room itself was very small and lacked basic essentials like a microwave and trash bags. In fact, during the first room service, they used the trash bags we had kept next to the trash can, which was surprising. The shower door was leaking, causing water to flow into the rest of the bathroom area. The room lighting was also quite dim, making the space feel even less comfortable. We did not get room service for two consecutive days, even after speaking to the staff in the hallway and requesting cleaning and fresh water. It wasn’t until the fifth night that I had to call the front desk to request a quick room cleanup. We also had an issue with the concierge service. Initially, they refused to honor the shuttle service to the theme parks that was included in our package. Eventually, after some back-and-forth, they arranged Uber pickups and drop-offs. The biggest disappointment was the timeshare presentation. The sales rep who approached us was kind and scheduled the session for Thursday (06/26) morning. However, the actual presentation experience was very poor. We were grouped with a completely unfamiliar family in a small, poorly ventilated room for over an hour. The room barely had any air conditioning, and with five adults and one child inside, it was very uncomfortable. We also felt like we were treated poorly during the session—as if the staff had already made up their minds that we weren’t going to buy, and just wanted to get it over with. In summary, I’d say this resort is fine for a short stay. The amenities and outdoor areas are nice, but the rooms are not well-suited for families with small children due to their small size, missing essentials, and inconsistent service. Also, do NOT attend the timeshare presentation—it’s not worth the time or discomfort.

Google
Absolute 5 star experience from dining to the wonderful accommodations , the room was impeccable and the porperty was beyond my expectations. If you are looking for a family vacation this is for you. If you are a couple trying to get away please take in consideration it will be far from quiet and relaxing due to the amount of children roaming around screaming around. Other than that spectacular

Had the pleasure of attending a conference at this excellent hotel in April. The conference facility was outstanding both from the physical space to the catering and especially the hospitality staff. The hotel itself mirrors the conference facility in excellence. The rooms are perfect for business travellers with more than enough plugs and excellent workspace. The extra large television was a nice touch. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and clean. Extremely clean overall, the room was well stocked with water, coffee, and small snacks. The restaurants that I sampled also were excellent in quality, service and value. I would definitely revisit the main bar (great pub food), the breakfast restaurant and the poolside burger location. Highly recommend this resort!

Yelp
I love this place. What a find. Amazing resort. I always like JW Marriott's but this one is different as it has a a full blown resort with spectacular amenities for families. A tropical very large pool oasis with a big lazy river which is attached to about five big pools. Plenty of shade trees. Three Fun large water slides. A water obstacle course. Very fun for kids and adults. The hotel is beautiful and has great views. It is close to Disney and IDrive and Universal park. It has a couple pool bars with pool side service for food and drinks. Several interior restaurants from casual to upscale. The food we had in all locations including room service was good. The staff in all areas of the hotel were attentive, accommodating, and friendly.

Yelp
Clean but decades overdue for renovation. No hot water in the shower. They blamed the pump and said they were "working on it" but it never got fixed. Mini fridge not working. Their solution was to bring another one up and place it in the middle of the room. They add a 22% gratuity to EVERYTHING but trust me they don't earn it. No communication among staff. Act like they are doing you a favor. Everything closes early. How is there no room service at all after midnight and no way to pre-order breakfast after midnight-- not even in their app? The overnight oats on the breakfast menu were great but the two poached eggs were like rubber. I have stayed at Courtyard Marriotts with better service.

Yelp
One of my favorite hotels in the Orlando area. I fond myself recommending this hotel often. It's beautiful, the pools on site are big and spacious with a lot of seating (no issues ever for me finding a pool chair). The rooms are large and clean. You may even get views of parks. I always request a high floor with a pool view and its beautiful. I have never tried any of the onsite dining aside from the pool restaurant. It's good. Nothing special but tis good. Lots of variety for a pool bar. My avoidance of the restaurants has nothing to do wot them - I'm just not local so I tend to want to explore local spots or eat in park if I find myself int he parks (especially as Orlando is growing so rapidly) They share amenities with neighboring properties which is nice especially of staying during a busier time. I have stayed maybe 5 times over the years (from childhood into adulthood) and have never had any issues at all. My. only complaint that I have had over the years, is that the parking is paid (and is very expensive) and it's far away from the resort and rooms. I personally feel that if you are going to she a mandatory parking fee, it's just squeezing more money out of guests because you can, so that parking better be hassle free. Here, you do have to hike with your luggage or whatever you have on you and I don't love that. While it is pretty typical for Orlando to have a daily parking fee, I wish more resorts had it as a premium feature. If you pay, then you get close parking.

Yelp
Very beautiful hotel with a great and convenient location. This is really a very comfortable and luxurious hotel. The property and the rooms are all very well kept. Loved the modern furniture and decor in the hotel rooms. The bed was very supportive and comfortable. Bathroom was very large, with nice sized tub to really soak after a long day. This place has some fantastic views as well. I was up close to the top, and could see miles away from my room. Service is excellent as well. From checking in to checking out, everyone I encountered was very courteous and friendly, very much befitting this hotel. Like some others said, the only slight inconvenience was parking. Self-parking is located some distance from the lobby, making for an inconvenient walk to and from your car if you need to grab something. But other than that, loved the hotel and would definitely come back again :)

Yelp
Had another great stay at this fabulous hotel. One huge benefit is that it is connected to the Ritz Carlton so you are able to enjoy the amenities of both hotels. They have a really nice pool area with nice sized lazy river that's very nice. There's also a restaurant at the pool area that serves really delicious cheeseburgers with homemade pickles that we love. The service is always wonderful throughout this property. Checking in is always simple and easy. This time we stayed in room 5012 which is really nice with a cute seating area in the corner. The bathroom was gorgeous with a huge sinking tub. There are multiple restaurants and bars throughout the property as well as multiple pools. I had a great stay and we will definitely continue to come here. Oh, I also forgot to mention that there is a wonderful spa on property as well.

Yelp
Super sunny day, however super crowded Memorial Day Saturday. Sunday was more relaxing. The mojito was okaaay-ish it was really watered down. I didn't bother saying anything though nor did I order another one. Ordered 2 Chicken tender baskets which took about an hour given the amount of people that were here but I didn't want to go inside and sit down for a meal. Tasted pretty bland but it was just to get us through the afternoon. I'm sure on a less crowded day you'd get better drinks or food but I only ordered Saturday. I would return though because of the large pool, water slides and kiddie area the kids loved.

Kelly K.

Yelp
I was here for a work meeting for a few nights and enjoyed my stay. The property is gorgeous and the pool layout is very nice for relaxing and bringing the whole family. There's even three waterslides that you can go down, which were really fun! The food catered by the hotel was OK but not what I would've expected. Additionally, there were no water fountains to be found on the property. When I asked the front desk, she directed me to a small drink booth behind the concierge desk, but it wasn't really convenient to coming and going to fill up my water bottle during the day. Minor detail, but it was a little annoying. Overall, this was great and the property is beautiful

William F.

Yelp
Overall, me and my group had a very nice stay. That being said, we came across a somewhat frightening situation. The AI that operates the hotel lobby revolving doors needs to be looked into by management. On multiple occasions, my friends and I were trapped inside for at least of 2-3 minutes. I know it doesn't seem like a long time, but believe me, it felt like forever. Little kids were tapping on the glass as if it were an aquarium. I don't think I would stay here again until the problem is resolved. Awesome water slides though.

Ellen M.

Yelp
Gorgeous property with excellent amenities. The staff is outstanding! Rooms are spacious, clean, and well appointed. Don't take home the bottle lotion/bath wash/shampoo - you will get charged $45. You can buy these online. I love that they have a jogging trail that is well lit and many options dining and drinks. The meeting staff did an excellent job and the signage to get around was helpful. The only negatives were that I was not granted a late check out even though my colleagues were and the meeting food was only average. Was hoping for a 5 star hotel such as this the food would have been better. These negatives weren't enough to dock any stars, however, as overall the place is spectacular!

Chad L.

Yelp
Beautiful entrance to hotel with multiple places to eat and drink. Rooms are amazing too. Great layout of the room, the only thing I would have suggested was a chair on wheels at the desk since it is carpeted. See photos!! Will 100% be staying here again

Lawrence U.

Yelp
The holiday market is a nice touch of Christmas. Not local vendors, great night to walk around and feel the Christmas spirit

Yelp
I stayed here for my recent conference that was next door at the ritz Carlton . I LOVED everything about this hotel , the staff was amazing , the room was beautiful and I loved the bathtub and bath salts ! Vegetarian options at the restaurants and by the pool . Huge pool and water slide and just beautiful grounds ! Can't wait to return.

Yelp
For my mom's birthday I got to stay here for one night as part of her staycation in Orlando. I work for the JW Marriott on bonnet creek so for the room I paid about $280; which isn't bad. The $80 is the extra fee that they tack on for the parking etc. in my mom's reservation she put in that she wanted a room on a high floor; we were granted with a junior suite complementary room; which I wasn't expecting. The room was on the 23rd floor and it face to the pool. The room was so spacious I feel like you could fit a family of six in that one room. The lovely lady that checked us in - I unfortunately forgot her name but she was blonde and had a (breathable white T-shirt on for uniform). She made mom's birthday; the room she gave us was gorgeous- thank you! We also ate at knife Burger - I did a separate review for knife burger itself. The food was good - the only downside is all of their housemaid cocktails are made in batches; and he wasn't sure if they had cross contact or not so I couldn't do any of the house made cocktails. For dinner we sat at the Evr Bar and my friend Chris and I had the charcuterie board, an iced tea, and I had the Gin-tersteller cocktail. Our server for the ever bar was Illina and she was amazing. She was very attentive and knew when to refill of drinks and also recommended the flatbread for my mom. Thank you JW Orlando for such a great birthday weekend for my mom! If you haven't stayed here I definitely recommend it.

Sheri M.

Yelp
Everything !! To start off - the property is beautiful .. my favorite things; the beautiful walking path behind the hotels (Ritz and JW).. the amazing event staff/restaurant who served us every day while my husband had his Sirva movers conference in October, the grilled cheese and tomato soup at the Ritz lower bar.. the beautiful hotel room, the healthy menu items on our event menus - very Mediterranean and veggies .Thank you so much to your staff, as I want to come back !! Happy holidays and many more blessings for all your hard work and excellent service you provide to your guests !

Irene Q.

Yelp
The best thing that happened when we arrived was to visit the lobby bar. Eddy the bartender welcomed us and made us the best drink cocktails. He knows all about Mezcal and Tequila and the drinks are very high end. The lazy pool is awesome. And Danielle at the Tiki bar took very food care of us. Amazing! Thank you!!

Erin S.

Yelp
What an absolute joy it was to stay at the JW Marriott!! this hotel is so elegant and classy. It's also connected to the Ritz Carlton, and you can use amenities at both locations. It has an incredible lobby with great restaurants and bars, not to mention it's dog friendly we were able to bring our dog to the property, lawn and amenities. the view for my room was amazing, and you can see the giant 500 acre property. The pool at the JW was even heated during the winter, and we had excellent service all weekend by their staff. They treated our dog so well and didn't act like she was an inconvenience. The room service was also quick and amazing for breakfast, and that chef deserves recognition. the pools, spa, amenities and grounds were stunning. I couldn't say a bad word about them. 5 stars for the JW/Ritz

Yelp
Attention, East Siders! Your trusty insider is back with another dishy review, straight from the heart of one of Orlando's most exclusive hotels - the JW Marriott Orlando, Grande Lakes. Prepare to be enthralled as I regale you with tales of opulence, luxury, and a few secrets I've uncovered along the way. First things first, darlings - the JW Marriott is a playground for the glamorous. From the moment you step through those grand doors, you're transported to a world where sophistication reigns supreme. The staff? They're more than just friendly faces; they practically dance attendance, ready to cater to your every whim. Talk about service fit for modern royalty. Let's delve into the rooms, shall we? These luxurious hideaways are where dreams come to life. As I stepped into my abode, a wave of sheer bliss washed over me. The balcony offered a breathtaking escape, with views that could steal your breath away. And don't even get me started on the attention to detail--the crisp white LED lighting above the bed was like a constellation of chicness, illuminating the room with an alluring glow. Now, let's dish about the bathroom, my darlings. It was a veritable haven of indulgence, a sanctuary for self-pampering. Picture yourself luxuriating in a spacious realm, complete with a separate tub and shower boasting dual shower heads. It's a true oasis, where one can cleanse both body and soul in style. But let's not forget the pièce de résistance - the dining experience. Primo, one of the hotel's restaurants, pulls out all the stops to tantalize your taste buds. From perfectly cooked prime beef ribeyes to an array of delectable breads served with luscious olive oil for dipping, every bite is an explosion of flavors fit for a secret society. The hotel bar, a haven for the hip and trendy, adds an extra layer of enchantment to the evening. Sipping on expertly crafted libations, surrounded by an ambiance that exudes effortless coolness, is a must for any self-respecting socialite. But, my dear readers, every tale has its dark side. Prepare yourselves for the shocking twist that lurks beneath this glamorous façade. It's a saga of de-programmed keys, of endless battles at the threshold of my own sanctuary. Every night, my digital *and* physical keys would inexplicably fail, leaving me stranded and frustrated. It was a never-ending game of reprogramming and reproach at the front desk, with accusations of magnets and cards too close to phones. Oh, the agony of it all! Such inconveniences can dampen the spirit of even the most devoted jet-setter, threatening to overshadow the entire experience. So, dear East Siders, take heed of this tale of elegance and intrigue. The JW Marriott in Orlando is a haven for the chic, a playground for those seeking an escape into a world of refinement. Just beware the hidden pitfalls that may lurk behind its dazzling exterior. Will I return for another rendezvous? The answer remains shrouded in mystery, as the memory of those stubborn keys still lingers in my mind. Until next time, my stylish companions. Remember, life is a grand adventure - one that requires a touch of savoir-faire and a dash of scandal to truly savor.

Toya S.

Yelp
This is a beautiful property! I was looking for things to do in the area and the winterland market came up as an item to do but it was listed as Star Gazing and S'mores. I never saw the S'mores part but the winterland market was a treat. I was able to get my parking validated which was an extra bonus. My kids enjoyed the market. If you have the opportunity to stay here, you will not be disappointed.

Chris L.

Yelp
This hotel is spectacular. One of my highlights is that they have a Starbucks but it's only open 6am to 6pm. I loved the amazing pool with lazy river and water slides. Their pool side restaurant Knife burger was absolutely delicious and service was great. I really enjoyed my poke salmon bowl. Our server Chris was great! The whole property from the moment you walk in to the newly renovated rooms is so nice. The bathrooms in the new suits are so beautiful I need the designers contact information to redo my bathrooms! There are so many good things to say about this resort but I'll let you explore to find more!

Enrico F.

Yelp
Absolutely WORST experience ever! Forgot my wedding ring at the gym while working out and left it at 6:35pm and went back for it at 7pm and it was gone. Went right away to the front desk and they asked me to fill out a missing form which I did. Called and emailed the next day Alreen Martell and she responded said nothing was found so I requested that someone have a look at the security footage in the gym since there are 5 security cameras and the ring was gone within a 30 minutes period and she never bothered to look or get back to me after following up with 3 emails and 2 phone calls. Aside from being an expensive ring it's sentimental value of the ring that it's not repleacable and yes it was my fault to leave it behind but I would expect a better service from a 5 star hotel on a missing item.

Jake P.

Yelp
The JW always impresses. On this Orlando visit I attended a work conference at the hotel. All of the accommodations were fantastic. I was upgraded to a really nice suite. I loved walking/running around the hotel in the mornings. There are great paths and walkways between this hotel and neighboring Ritz Carlton. The pool and slides looked awesome, but I didn't get to enjoy those. Overall just perfect stay

Angel I.

Yelp
Very comfortable room, luxurious bedding and wonderful decor. Balcony view of the pool, golf course, and theme park is spectacular. Loved the lazy river and pools, a great selling point of staying here (don't even need a water park!). Rated this a four/five because of the difficulty reaching support twice via room phone and poor customer service from the concierge desk (in person) twice (not friendly, wrong information, and lack of desire to help). Overall, great experience and would be happy to stay here again.

Taura G.

Yelp
Maikol & James the Bell Desk, and Andrew Santos at the Valet were so customer service oriented with us. We were welcomed, our luggage carefully loaded and stored until the system came back up so that the registration desk could check us in and assign our room. Throughout our stay we were very busy with a conference schedule of 6a-1a. The hospitality staff was super great and we made sure to tip them each day. One day, I returned to my room in the afternoon and saw that the bathroom sink had overflown with filthy black sewer-like water. I only stopped in to change clothes so I immediately got on my cell phone on the way back down to the Conference and notified the hotel on the Marriott Bonvoy App. I was assured, via Bonvoy App Chat message that someone would be up to check the sink, that was at about 1pm. When I arrived back at my room at 6pm, it was still not addressed and the sink was filthy. I called the front desk, chatted another message, and was not responded to for 30mins. After I changed for my next conference event, someone came to my door and they only cleaned out the sink...8 hours after I reported it. The grounds are beautiful. The option to use the Ritz-Carlton fitness center, spa, and pool was definitely a winner. The lazy river is OUTSTANDING. If you do not get into it during your stay, you are cheating yourself. There is a great FedEx Center inside the hotel, a little down the hall and across from Starbucks that allows you to ship items, as well as have Amazon items shipped to you while you are a hotel guest. They charge $2-$3 for this service upon pickup, and it is great ams convenient. I will surely return to stay here, despite the issues with my room sink plumbing.

Randy Z.

Yelp
My temporary home away from home!! Love this place. Classy, elegant, and their rooms are incredible! Restaurant and bars are great. They have a Starbucks inside on premise. Sleeping in their beds is like sleeping on clouds. Too bad you don't spend more time in the room enjoying it as there are lots of things to do. And did I mention their pools? Lazy River and hot tub? There adding some additional water play areas for the kids!! Hanging out by the pool? They have food and drink servers to better serve you. Of course the price is a bit much enjoying your time there. But wow. What a way to spend a hot summer day in Florida! By the way when you stop by the bar look for Seth!! He is a great reason to keep coming back. Makes your experiences that much More special!!

Vilma E.

Yelp
This is a beautiful hotel and country club. Is absolutely beautiful through and through. Form the moment you arrive the valets are friendly and accommodating and when you walk inside the focal points of the fountain, seating areas and reception with glimpses of some of the restaurants. The rooms are modern with a very serene vibe. After a long day you can unwind in the oversized tub ready with a tray for your book and smooth sounds from your phone and two lush white robes. The beds, oh when you throw yourself onto the plush soft down bed you'll not want to get out. Our room was so spacious and had a multitude of convenient features like reading adjustable lights from the side of the headboard as well as soft overhead lighting, charging stations on both sides of bed or beds, hidden refrigerator and coffee machine. The hotel has so Many fine dinning options inside as well as nearby. What else can I say other than if you are looking to be treated like Royalty give JW Marriott a try. Hasta luego (Until Later),

Yelp
Do not stay here! The property is 19 years old and they have not made the necessary infrastructure investments. We stayed on the 11th floor. The hot water pressure was terrible. So bad, that the water stopped at times while in the shower. The staff will act shocked that it's happening. Then you start talking to other guests and they're all having the same issue. They'll offer to have engineering fix it. But they won't be able to. It's clearly a dog and pony show they're putting on to cover up a serious issue. They won't invest in the plumbing, but they are spending a lot on the pool. Speaking of the pool: it's nice. But, they close it constantly. Want to swim at night? Too bad, pool is closed. Clouds in the sky? Out! They once kicked everyone out at 5:30 pm during perfect weather. Rumor was someone pooped in the pool. WTF? The staff is also terrible. We gave our luggage to the bellhop. Went to the room. Waited an hour. I called down because I didn't think they had our room number. Just rang and rang. Finally went down in person. Oh, yeah, your luggage has been sitting here. You should have called. We'll have it right up. 15 min later it arrives. Pool service is abysmal too. Not enough help (totally get that). What I don't get is why 3-4 employees were always behind the bar hanging out together. Maid service is solid though. No complaints there. Long story short, spend your money elsewhere. This is the worst JW I've ever stayed at. Even the kids noted the Hilton Home 2 Suites in Macon, GA was better. Room was bigger and nicer.

Yelp
Definitely a 5 Star weekend at the JW. Accommodations were excellent, except for a pretty strong moldy odor that persisted all weekend, we stayed in room 200038. It wasn't that bad because we spent most of our time enjoying the amenities that the property had to offer. The pools are very nice with plenty of seating options. Cabanas are a must. The pool restaurant, Knife Burger was fantastic. Bartender, Arline(?) was quick with order, pleasant, and made great drinks. The grouper sandwich was out of this world... I toured the property with a young lady on Saturday and had a great time. She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the property and wildlife in general. Sadly, I didn't get her name but she led the Sunrise Safari on July 15, 2023. Take the tour, it's worth tje price of admission. Overall, it was a great weekend.

Yelp
This is a grand hotel, its sprawling grounds, a luxurious lobby, a beautiful fountain, and a grand bar in the back. This bar is massive, and with no lack of seating areas to enjoy your libations. Three highly recommended restaurants anchor the lobby. The pool area has a great slide and lazy river. There are beautiful cabanas that vary in sizes of 2, 4, or up to 10 people. There are lots of poolside chairs too. The pool side bar is great and nicely stocked. Our server, Amado, was attentive. He kept checking in on us, making sure our drinks were fresh. We did have to repeat the request for water, but he eventually got it. The drinks, Chefs Kiss, and Mango Margarita are delicious, the type of delicious that makes you want more and more. The fruit bowl had a honey/granola drizzle that made it incredibly yummy. The hummus is fresh, and the accompanying pita, carrots, and chips made it even better. I knocked off 1 star because of 2 instances that made us feel less than welcome. 1. The cabana was reserved when the initial hotel reservation was made. How else would we have known the cabana #. But we were questioned over 3x if we were where we belonged. We were told someone would come over and check us in but no one ever did. We sat in our cabana and made the best of it. 2. We made dinner reservations. When we arrived, we were treated dismissively. The hostess pointed towards a table in the middle of the restaurant right by the entrance as if it were an afterthought and not a reservation. When we spoke up, suddenly a table appeared right by the outside door with a view to the lake and fireworks. These two instances reflected badly on their service & I question if it was because we're four latinas.

Yelp
Three night stay for a work related conference. The hotel is well maintained and remodeled. Enjoyed the modern and remodeled room. Separate tub and shower, comfy bed, USB outlets, toiletries like q tips, mouth wash, large size standard room, fast elevators separate sofa and table for lounging in the standard room. You can use the Bonvoy app for a digital key or sending messages. Conference rooms and conference services did a great job! They had lovely beverage stations, clean rooms set up, and the catering for receptions was solid. Multiple restaurants on site, but the fancier ones do require reservations ahead of time. If you want a bite take out, you can go to "The Kitchen". You also have a good chance at walk in. You can also go to the other side at the Ritz Carlton. The gym in the ritz is also very nice. They have cold towels and piles of water bottles for guests. The gym is pretty large, but the equipment is standard to a hotel gym in that they don't have a significant amount of weight lifting equipment. There's no freestanding barbell. looking forward to my next stay here!

Yelp
Jw marriott Orlando is great. Large rooms, clean and the house keeping staff are excellent. Plenty of free parking available or valet. Lots of good dinning options available on the property. The pool area is large and super relaxing. Ideal location for a company event.

Yelp
Gigantic, grand hotel--apparently it's been renovated recently, and it shows! Beautiful common areas and a comfortable room--I had one with two queen-sized beds--equipped with plenty of counter space in the bathroom and (bonus!) a towel bar on the shower door! While I tend to prefer the fitness center close by for easy access (and less wandering through conference spaces in my workout gear), I have to say that the fitness center that the JW Marriott Orlando, Grande Lakes shares with the adjoining Ritz Carlton is terrific--plenty of cardio machines (including Peloton bikes!) and options for strength training. As with most hotels, I wished the hotel had a water bottle filling station in the hotel lobby (or even better, on my floor), but there was one in the fitness center (again, a bit of a hike from my tower).

Yelp
JW - Orlando has THE BEST pool! The attached Ritz admittedly has the better poolside bar (a little more serene and lux), but the Ritz pool has nothing on J-Dub's pool. The lazy river was emblazoned in my children's minds from last year's visit and they had a blast again. New this year is the three slide water park on the JW pool grounds! Great for the kids...for teens and college kids you have a cool water obstacle course on the opposite side. When we stayed they had live musicians and DJs poolside playing relaxing and upbeat hits to add to the ambiance. Both hotels have great dining. And the Ritz, as always, has a great spa which you can access from both hotels. Also, shout out for Bodega, the coffee and breakfast shop next to the Starbucks. More chill than Starbucks with more freshly made breakfast foods to go. All the staff members from the valets, front desk, poolside bartenders, and maid staff are all excellent. Two great hotels, one campus. Lots of fun depending on your fam size and the experience you need. And of course, close to all the Disney magic without staying at Disney resorts.

Yelp
There are many aspects of this hotel that I like: 1. The valet and bellhop staff try very hard to meet your needs. 2. Multiple restaurants and room service 3. Beautiful pool areas 4. Clean - a few dust bunnies but overall clean 5. Timely response to needs 6. Great room service - timely and tasty The following issues are concerning: 1. Front desk staff - the attitudes and the lack of consideration to the customer almost made me leave the establishment during the check-in process. Basic courtesy is a necessity when engaging the consumer. The bellhops/valet team people skills far exceed the front desk staff. I would return..but with limited expectations of the front desk.

Yelp
I am writing this review while still at the hotel. That is how great this experience has been with our stay. Every employee we have encountered at the hotel has been kind, helpful and friendly. Check in was easy and they were able to accommodate an early check in which was wonderful! The resort is stunning and the amenities are fantastic. I enjoyed the trails that go along the nature preserve and connect the hotel with the Ritz next door. The pool area is well kept and has more than enough lounge chairs to handle high capacity days. We ordered room service on multiple occasions and the food was very good. This is officially our favorite Orlando hotel and I'm looking forward to coming back in the future!

Yelp
We were here for leisure. Properties are well maintained and modern. Restaurant staff were excellent for all of our dining experiences. Housekeeping skipped us a few times but we called and they would come right up to refresh. Awesome pools, walking paths and things for small children. Great time!

Yelp
Great experience shooting video and photo for an event here. Friendly staff, delicious food, and incredibly organized.

Yelp
We've been a week here in mid June 2022. The pool construction is a little noisy. The existing pool and lazy river are all open and have food and drink service, but the noise from construction is a little distracting. Almost all of the waterfalls connecting with the pool are either off or non-functioning. The lazy river flows VERY slowly because almost all of the jets are disabled. This must have to do with the construction. Did I have a great week here, Yes! Did my skin tan in the sun even with the construction noise and slow lazy river, Yes! The staff were great at every encounter. Platinum with Marriott gives you free cold breakfast buffet in the restaurant on the ground floor. Weekend wait was 30 minutes for a table for 4. Weekdays was a walk in. $7 per person upgraded to the hot bar including pancakes, waffles, bacon, eggs, and sausage.

Yelp
The staff ignore you or will not assist you if you don't look as though you have money. I literally sat at the bar and watched the bartender help 5 other guests that showed up after me. Finally, I asked, "excuse me ma'am, am I invisible? Then she asked me if I wanted a drink. Later that evening, I locked my key in the room and had to go down stairs in my nightgown. Asked front desk for another key. They asked me for my id??? Ezcuse me I'm standing here in a nightgown barefoot! Finally, got back to my room with a make shift security guard. Paid $500 a night for a room to stay here! Bad service and worse I have ever been treated

Yelp
Amazing hotel and even better customer service. We've stayed there multiple times in the last few years and even though this time we were only there for a night , it's still the place to stay while in Orlando. The hotel has been renovated recently and the rates have increased , I assume like everything else but it's so worth it. My only draw back is the $50 resort fee that I paid on top of the parking fee I paid even though I didn't use any of their facilities since I was there at night and left early next morning. It felt like a rip off.

Yelp
The main bar closes early every night because the employees for lack of a better word are lazy. We had a company event of over 160 people at the property and both nights they closed early fir no good reason. We asked why they were closing and they struggled to come up with an excuse. Pretty embarrassing establishment

Ronnita W.

Yelp
Had lunch during a conference and the food was so good. Service was also decent. It is a nice set up near the pool, covered but outdoor. There was live music. Seems to have a full bar also so I would check it out.

Yelp
I was a bit concerned with construction still going on in the hotel when booking, however it did NOT affect our stay, at all. Noise is very minor, pool is huge, so you are able to stay away from it PLUS you are also able to use the pool at the sister Ritz property which is a 5 minute walk. The construction is supposed to be finished in November Now more details about the hotel overall: ROOMS Beautiful and freshly renovated. We had a balcony and it was nice to step out to it to enjoy beautiful view of the lakes and for a breath of fresh air HOUSEKEEPING Excellent. Meticulously clean, turndown service perfect, no questions :) One thing to make it even better would be to put slippers in the room - I am pretty sure we could get them upon request though. BREAKFAST Excellent selection, with fresh omelette, fresh squeezed juice station where you can make your own juice, pancakes prepared to order, variety of fruit - very good! Price: $25 for continental only, $35 for full selection. As Ambassador members we got Continental breakfast complimentary with an option to upgrade to full bar for $7. This is fine, but if I were the manager I would make it fully complimentary to people staying at Marriott properties for 100+ night per year ... SPECIAL SHOUT OUT AND THANK YOU TO KARIMA who took excellent care of us and provided warm and personalized service during both days we visited Citron for breakfast. SPA/GYM Shared space with ritz carlton, beautiful; as part of your resort fee package you get to visit their classes - they have yoga, stretching etc. However keep in mind that those are only available on certain days of the week :) It would be nice to have some alternative for off days, I would love to go to one of the classes but both my days fell on off days unfortunately. You can also get bikes for 1 hour per day for free. SPA area has their own pool and hot tub which are basically empty because you need to have a spa appointment in order to use them. SHUTTLES TO DISNEY are available but you need to book them 24 hours in advance, we missed that part and had to Uber POOL SERVICE was pretty good across JW and Ritz, with plentiful chairs, towels and friendly staff to assist to your wishes :) GABRIEL at JW pool provided great service and was very nice - thank you Gabriel! Dear Fellow Traveler, THANK YOU for reading all the way through this review, I hope it was helpful :) please PRESS THUMBS UP BUTTON if that is so :) If you have questions about the hotel, want to see more photos and videos or just want to say Hi, feel free to reach out to my INSTA @daria.newyork Cheers to good people, magnificent places and unique experiences!

Yelp
The hotel itself is beautiful. No complaints there. The room was clean and aside from the bathroom door not closing properly and a giant crack in the shower that made it impossible not to leak water onto the floor, all good. I would definitely recommend eating OFF PROPERTY as we tried various on site restaurants and were less than impressed. I expected more from a "high end" hotel. We would have definitely given more stars if the dining experiences weren't subpar. We ate at the knife and i have never felt more uncomfortable and unwelcome than we did there. We sat down and waited.... And waited.... And waited. It was raining and plenty of staff around watching tv and whatnot but had no interest in us even though when we first walked in we asked if it was self seating. My husband finally got up and asked the bartender (who was watching tv with 2 guests at the bar) if they had anyone to serve us. He replied with a smug look "yes, we have servers " and continued to watch tv. My husband sat back down and i thought it was incredibly rude to not offer us at least some menus to look at while we waited for some service (the menus were literally right by the bartender). The service never got better as our server acted like we were an inconvenience the entire time. Made perfect sense once the bill came and we were informed there was an automatic 18% gratuity included for a PARTY OF TWO. Why treat you well if no matter what they are getting their 18% gratuity? Long story short if you stay at this resort do yourself a favor and find some place to eat OFF PROPERTY. There are so many options in Orlando area that we thoroughly enjoyed that actually welcomes your business. Do better JW marriot

Yelp
Absolutely a beautiful hotel/resort. Clean, welcoming and helpful. Multiple restaurants on site, burgers, chicken strips, pizza or steaks. 2 coffee shops including a Starbucks! Always live music playing either at the pool or in lobby. The pool was beautiful, great for families too. Servers come right to your chair for drinks and food service. Hotel had fireworks the weekend we went, which was unbelievable! Plus all the other events going on. Very top notch hotel/resort.

Yelp
So update in a way. The hotel sent a message through yelp to contact them about my previous review. I called a few times and was basically given the run around. No one ever returned my messages even though they were the ones who reached out to me. It's been a few years and still I'm yucked by what transpired there. I'd go back to the restaurant but doubt I'd stay at the hotel again.

Yelp
this review is specific to the EVRbar. This is a very expensive bar that serves food as well for a premium price. the problem is that the service is not premium. Our server did not check up on us after taking our order and missed an opportunity to sell me a second draft beer. We were finished eating for at least 15 minutes before our server came to check on us. We went back tonight just to give them a second chance and get some desert. This time nobody even came to check on us a take our order. We ended up just leaving. Very disappointing, will not go back again.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel. We really enjoyed staying here. Everyone was helpful and friendly, the room was clean. We will definitely come back.

Yelp
Very beautiful hotel! I highly recommend it. The service is great, staff is friendly, rooms are clean, food is good, pool is gorgeous! The pool area is amazing, the gym is perfect for free weights, aerobic, machines, etc. If you're looking for a grand hotel experience with amazing food, great exercise area, pool, staff, etc look no further! The restaurant at this hotel is so good. I highly recommend it.

Yelp
This is a great family resort located away from busier areas of Orlando. Gorgeous entryway to make anyone feel like royalty. Attached to the Ritz this hotel offers full amenities including zero entry pool for the smaller kids, an epic lazy river , spa pool, and you can also access the pool at Ritz Carlton. The pool deck area is cleverly laid out with lots of curves so that there is privacy with plenty of lounge chairs. There is a long walkway that connects to the golf clubhouse and Ritz with a gorgeous Lakeview of two fountains. A nice break in between Disney theme parks to just relax and enjoy the hotel amenities. Outdoor recreation includes mountain biking, golf, tennis, fishing, volleyball, kayaking, and various games such as billiards ping-pong Foosball and air hockey. The only thing included with the resort fees are 2 mountain bike rentals 2 pool floats and 2 complimentary drinks. If you would like to take advantage of the foosball and billiards, The equipment can be picked up at the same area you get pool floats. On the Ritz side it is located in the breezeway of grand Lake sports . You wouldn't need to leave the hotel grounds for days. The outdoor area is impeccable and staff was seamless especially around the pool area. That being said there is a $40 per day resort fee and $30 per day parking fee. I had some problems with parking the first night as our room key was not activated. As with most hotels the pictures of rooms look better then in person. Our room was very dusty not sure if it was due to Covid and it being empty for longer periods of time. There was also mildew in the bathroom shower area and broken tile. The drains were slow, both the sink and tub. I was hoping there would be wipes provided as another user stated. Room service also skipped our room again not sure if that was due to Covid but we did not complain while being there. All in all I would come back strictly for the pool area and outdoor amenities
