JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa

Stayed here for 5 nights with my family of four over the XMas holidays during Jingle at the JW. The pool area was probably one of the nicest I've ever seen at a Marriott property, nicer than most resorts. Drinks and snacks were on the pricy side, as can be expected. The courts were in excellent shape. There are only 3 tennis courts now and close to 20 pickleball courts, so very much a pickleball resort. Pickleball crowds were loud and fun. We had complimentary continental breakfast each day for two as loyalty members, but at $33 per day extra for each of our kids, or $45 with hot food option, we usually just got them a light breakfast at Starbucks rather than paying that much for them to have a muffin and some fruit. I guess this price seems to be the norm for nicer buffets now. If we didn't get it complimentary we wouldn't have gone at all. The Jingle at the JW features are definitely designed for young children vs teens, so we didn't do much of them. New Years eve had some live music in the lobby bar and a relatively quiet celebration, but that was fine for us. I think the resort fee of $55/day is reasonable (as long as you plan for it), butthe $30/day parking seemed excessive considering all the on-site parking space in the desert. It's not like the resort is downtown or anything. In summary, a very nice resort, we enjoyed our time there (especially at the pool), but like many places in this area, the costs added up quickly.

Love this place! Great 3 night stay right before the end of the year. Room was well appointed and the very comfortable. Good sized balcony with a great view. While we did not use the pool, the pool area was amazing with many private areas one could use. Really great service from everyone in the lobby bar. No complaints at all. I will return next time I am in the Scottdale area!

So no major issues with this hotel at all. Clean, good service/staff, decent location. I just feel as if the resort is a bit overpriced for what is offered. I would have been better off staying at a regular hotel downtown. I would say if you are traveling with the family this may be the place for you but if this is like a couples or friends trip, I’d say go elsewhere. It is somewhat convenient. There’s lots of stores and shops probably a mile away which came in handy. As for doing activities or sightseeing, we did have to Uber back-and-forth so again, depending on your itinerary it may be best to stay downtown. Also, lots of kids there, no shade but no thanks! Lol!

I would not recommend this hotel for price. The grounds upfront look nice, but as soon as you get into the pool area, you can tell the whole property is sorely in need of maintenance & cleaning. Outdoor spaces felt dirty & generic. Room was very small and dusty with loud obnoxious music blaring from the pool every time you open the patio door to try and enjoy the “Mountain View” and get some respite from the strong smelling cleaning chemicals the housekeeping staff uses. Overall I was very underwhelmed by this entire resort. Needs work. Offers bad food. Feels like a place for business conventions rather than vacations. For the same money, check out the Biltmore. So much better there. We even decided to rebook our flights and go home a day early even though our reservation was non-refundable just to get out.

My husband and I spent a few days here for New Year's Eve. We booked a Presidential Suite which was fabulous although it was not ready for us at check in time and we were made to wait almost 1 hour. The staff throughout the resort were all very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was very upbeat and festive. The food was wonderful, especially the breakfast! On another note, we had reservations to spend the day at the 21+ pool, Sky Island ($40 a person). We did this last year also. Here's our issue: No staff stays at the entrance to check you in so you are left to figure it out yourself. Once staff does come though, the service is fantastic! This year, any adult was allowed to come in and use the hot tub. This was not the case last year. This is a huge mistake! Without oversight, people were coming in, getting in the pool, throwing towels and clothes on lounge chairs people reserved and just creating a much different atmosphere. At one point, there were 14 people in the hot tub - none of whom paid to reserve there. We probably won't do that again. Management should seriously rethink allowing this. This aside, we had a very enjoyable 3-day stay.

Our recent stay at the JW Marriott Phoenix desert ridge was fabulous! Love the hotel and its surrounding grounds and most of all some very kind staff members that we came in contact with! A special shout out to Farmer JC who was so passionate and kind about the gardens and the birds! We had such a wonderful experience watching the hummingbirds and admiring all the plants! He was so kind and so informative! Thank you Farmer JC!!!! If you have time I would definitely recommend making the time for the hummingbird feeding! The spa was fabulous and Debbie and Michelle were so kind and that made the spa experience so much more enjoyable! I absolutely loved my manicure and Fairly was kind, funny and just adorable! She also did a great job! Thank you Fairy! My nails needed your Fairy touch ❤️ The lady, who checked us out was also very sweet and lovely she cared, listen and helped in any was she could (I am not sure but I think her name was Caroline) It is the beauty of the place that brings the guests in but it’s the kindess of the hotel stuff that keeps us coming back! Great place to visit! 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Oh and I almost forgot to mention the restaurants are OMG amazing and the food was fabulous and Griffin club was so worth the extra cost!

Stayed here during Christmas week. Approximately 20 miles from PHX. The location is great – an outdoor shopping mall is across the street, and the area is very walkable. The grounds were immaculate, and the atmosphere was very festive. The J.W. Griffin Club concierge were outstanding, and everyone was genuinely friendly. Despite the large number of guests and visitors for the JW Jingle, the hotel operated seamlessly. The rooms were immaculate, and housekeeping truly deserves a bonus. There are many amenities and a family activity center. I especially loved the heated lazy river. We are definitely coming back.

Fantastic 5 night stay right before Thanksgiving. Room was spacious and comfortable with 2 balconies (suite)! The pool complex was amazing. Really great service from all at Just a Splash pool bar and Twenty6 lobby lounge. We took the kids to the Jingle holiday festivities and enjoyed it all from ice skating to the warm winter drinks. The entire hotel was decorated for Christmas with music all day long. No complaints and hope to come back again at the same time of year.

Stayed here for a few days at the end of September during some record hot days for this time of year. I guess it is the off season because the restaurants were closed or had very limited hours but that was no biggie for us. We spent all our time at the waterpark and it was a blast for kids and adults. Not crowded at all so we were just making laps on the water slides. I do wish there was a pool open in the evenings. There is a really neat garden on-site that you can walk through. The gym was really nice and pretty robust for a hotel. Great experience, very clean property and the staff were all crazy nice. Would recommend for an easy family vacation.

My friends and I decided to rent a cabana for the day. For the amount of money spent... I wouldn't do it again. We ordered kid free cabana. It was located... Way off the beaten path. it was a hike from the lazy river Poolside service in the kid free zone was pretty much nonexistent. A couple times I had to walk out to a station to get an employees attention, to come over to our cabana. There was one young man that was pretty helpful. When asked he was really nice and brought us cool refreshing towels. They smelt amazing. We ordered food off the menu and it was a little on the disappointing side. The let us on the burgers look like it had been sitting out for a couple days. It was really wilted and dead.. At one point ... I had to stop eating it just was not appetizing. The outdoor area is beautiful. I bet the fire pit experience at night is amazing.... There really should be some type of cubbies close to the lazy river for people with phones and car keys that don't feel comfortable, leaving them out on the concrete to get wet by other guests.

Attended a conference here! The meeting rooms were convenient and spacious. The catering was good. For breakfast, they served peppered thick sliced bacon and for lunch there marinated chicken and steak were tasty. Incredible staff. I got lost in the heat and could not find my car. I walked to the tennis center. They provided me with a cold towel, water and drove me around until I found my car. I was so touched. Ty, Angels at JW Marriott!

I have to say, I love this resort! Anytime I'm in Phoenix this is where I stay! And will continue to do so forever, haha. However, I don't like to say this, but the restaurants need to change. Both Tia Carmen and Kembara are aesthetically beautiful but it ends there. I'm not a foodie nor a picky eater whatsoever, but having gone to both of these, the food is terrible. It really is. I wasn't even able to finish more than 2 spoonfuls at Kembara. And Tia Carmen, just their salad was good. Please reconsider these two spots, change the menu, I will not be eating at either anymore during any of my stays. I can see why both spots are always so vacant. Tia Carmen at least still gets some traffic, but Kembara has always seemed very vacant and it now makes sense. The bar inside the hotel has way better food selections.

JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa is a desert dream come true! From the moment I walked in, I was hit with this chill, laid-back vibe that's almost like stepping into a slice of Tulum--yes, Tulum, right in the middle of Phoenix! The rattan details outside give the place such a relaxing, boho feel, which is just what you need to distract you from the heat. Seriously, they nailed the atmosphere. The egg chairs, water feature throughout the property, the lawn with big majestic trees. It was a perfect early AM reading nook! The concierge are absolute legends. They're not just there to smile and wave; they actually go above and beyond. Need your Apple TV set up? Done. Forgot your travel utensils? No worries, they've got disposable ones at the front desk, because who wants to eat takeout with their hands? They also have an in-house laundry room, and the detergent is on the house! Nothing says luxury like clean clothes on demand. The pools are where the magic happens, especially with that water slide. You'll feel like a kid again, zooming down into the water with a grin (or if you were me, in terror). Poolside service is friendly and fast--no waiting around for your frozen margarita or coconut (!!), which is a win in my book. And if you need a break from all the splashing, take a stroll through their living garden. It's a mini oasis that's so calming, you might just forget about your inbox for a hot second. The gym here is top-notch, with all the equipment you could ever dream of, plus 24-hour access. Whether you're an early bird or a night owl, you can get your sweat on whenever the mood strikes. The interior could use a little love. The rooms and common areas are cozy, but the carpets and elevators are showing their age. A refresh would take this place from amazing to next-level incredible.

We had an absolutely fabulous experience. My young daughter and I spent four nights here in mid August. We booked through Costco travel for a great deal, and they surprisingly also recognized my Platinum benefits. We were upgraded to a beautiful one bedroom suite because occupancy was low. My daughter was so impressed and happy. Pros: - Pools area is divine for children, and adults who enjoy lazy rivers. Towels and water for drinking very easily available. - Service was top notch throughout. Especially Shay at the Kids Club and the wait staff at Tia Carmen breakfast. - Good variety of included activities. Some were crowded but they were free. - Griffin Club was great for the two of us. We are our lunches and dinners there. For some it might not be enough food but we ate huge breakfasts so it worked. They are not stingy with "good" snacks. Nice cocktails. - Property was very clean. Cons: - Everything on property is expensive - think $20 kids meals and $22 cocktails. Vegas prices. - Saturday the pools were packed. We reserved pool chairs for Saturday. I do not recommend for other days this time of year. Outside of Saturday, plenty of chairs were available. We knew both these cons going in, and adjusted our expectations. Our Costco credits easily covered our expenses since we had the Griffin Club.

What a fantastic day!! Purchased Resort Passes for the pool and it was a much needed girls pool day!! We had two great spots - one reservation at the Sky area pool that is closed to children and is very tranquil with views of the golf course! We also scored a spot by the lazy river! So, all day we were able to enjoy some adult time with Champagne, veggie shots, and a cold towel scented with rosemary!! Then, we'd get crazy riding the lazy river dodging folks like bummer cars!! It was fabulous!! The service was impeccable and we loved the ambiance of the hotel!! Bravo!!

If I could give a 3.5, I would. Writing my review based off a resort pass experience. My boyfriend and I came here with resort pass. It seemed busy for a Monday, so I can only imagine the weekends. My recommendation - get here early unless you pay extra for a cabana or reserved seating. We did the standard resort pass that was first come, first serve. I think what bummed us out a bit was the service. The girl at the pool area entrance seemed bothered by having to work. We walked up and she asked if we had already received wristbands. After telling her the front desk had sent us to her to get them, she told us no and that we would need to go to the welcome table in the pool area to get them. She let us in, then we went to the welcome table only to find out that we needed to get our wristbands at the pool entrance. They told us to go back out and ask her for them. When we went back out, she seemed pretty irritated, said "oh, here you go then" and grabbed some wristbands off her table then went back to looking at her phone. However, there is a locked gate that is key card entry, so we asked for her to let us back in and again, she just seemed bothered to do so. Everything else was great. The bartender was friendly, food came super quick and was good, our poolside server was nice and frequently checked in on us. The pool area itself is super clean. We checked out the lazy river and of course all the water slides. Lines moved fairly fast and we had a lot of fun here.

The Jingle at the JW was a fantastic experience for the holiday season. They have ice skating, jump houses, lots and lots of holiday decor and amazing food options, including great gluten free options if you are looking. Hannah and Ky at the fire side tables were extremely helpful, kind and friendly. Overall the experience is super kid friendly and fun for adults too!

We came to the resort for a day pass to the pool through resort pass so I can speak to the pool amenities. Check in to the pool area was easy, they had plenty of towels to use. There are multiple pools, a lazy river and 3 different water slides. There are plenty of seating options and lots of space to spread out. The lazy river was amazing and there was no shortage of tubes. The water slides were so fun for both kids and adults. Pool side service was a bit limited and drinks were very expensive, but the quality of the drinks was very good. I would definitely come back!

This is not my first visit to this hotel- My last stay at this hotel was about year ago-and since my visit there has been some changes to this hotel! Some of the major changes at the hotel includes the pool area. The hotel has invested in the upgrade of the pool area which includes adding a water slide area, modifying the lazy river, and adding a whirpool that looks over the expansive golf course! Plus they have a mini island that can be rented out with cabanas that include a pool/spa. Lets start with the waterslides- the waterslides are open from 11-5pm in March- There are three different waterslides. One of the waterslide is a tube that is enclosed but not dark. There is another tube that is dark with some lighted areas- a bit scary! The last waterslide is one that you use a raft- This waterslide is a one or two person slide. Unfortunately you have to carry the big raft up. And there are a lot of stairs for all of the waterslides! Unfortunately not ADA compliant as there is not an elevator for those who cannot climb the steps! The new whirlpool area is nice-with the waterfall edge. There is a beautiful view from the whirlpool. Unfortunately this is the only whirlpool in the pool area and I imagine during peak season this whirlpool would be too busy to relax in. With that said, AZ is usually warm so you may not be wanting to relax in the whirlpool. In March, the temperature felt ideal per the temperature. We enjoyed the renovations to the pool but access to the pool is poorly thought out. There is only one main entrance to the pool area- To enter the pool you have to walk through the lobby- when you are at a conference, and everybody is in a suit, not the best situation. Other entrances to the pool area would be nice. The pool entrance was also quite a long walk from our hotel room due to the limited entrance points- note we faced the waterslide area. The other new item at the hotel is the replacement of Roy's with a new Asian restaurant. I did not get to try this restaurant. The outside patio area looks nice and festive. As for accommodations- the hotel is very large with a lot of room choices! During this visit, we had a room on the opposite side from our last visit- we did not have a direct view of the golf course. The room faced an area where people have weddings- not the most attractive view. The view also faced the back of the waterslide. In the distance you did have nice views of the mountains. If I was to stay again, I would not request or accept a room in this area due to the view. We did enjoy the suite with two rooms- the rooms were very large with two balconies. We wished the room had a wet bar and another bathroom- at least a half bathroom. In deciding to stay here vs some other hotels, here's some things you should consider: 1. There are limited restaurants on site- three restaurants and starbucks (no convenient store) 2. If you self park, parking lot is a distance plus there is a charge for parking 3. Hotel is expensive plus there is a resort fee. Restaurants are on the expensive end as the well! 4. The hotel is very large, plan to walk a lot- this is also a good thing if you enjoy walking as the ground are pretty

Last week I dined two times for lunch at Meritage -- one of several restaurants at the beautiful JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge. I had the Buffalo Chicken sandwich with side salad on the first visit--a substantial sandwich on brioche bun was tasty, but the problem was with the sauce itself. Whomever mixed the batch must have used about 3 times the suggested amount of vinegar. Although the sauce had the right amount of heat, it was unpleasantly SOUR. Visit number 2 also involved a sandwich with side salad (pictured), and it was a better choice (turkey bacon club). Delicious. I had the same waitress both times and she was terrific.

Staycation to start the weekend for Bluey kiddo fans! Our stay was nice as we got the suite for a sweet time. The room was spacious, the couch was enough for a party of 8 or so, the "kitchen" had plenty of counter space, the views of the property was enough and I liked the automatic night light for the bathroom floor. The king bed had a Murphy style bed approach to make the room bigger if needed.

Gorgeous hotel, so many family-friendly and couples-friendly amenities. Great pools, great restaurants, beautiful rooms! We had so much fun at the lazy river. Food and drink is to be assumed to be pricey and it was - $24 for a margarita (that was a small in a non-reuseable cup). Cute Arizona-themed gift store. Highly recommend if you're visiting Arizona or in the area!

I visited this JW Marriott this weekend as they were hosting the PPA Pickleball Desert Ridge Open event. We purchased tickets ahead of time, but clearly not in advance enough to get courside seats... only grounds tickets were available. Despite joining a waitlist for courtside / VIP tickets, we went with our Grounds Passes. We found the tournament to be well run, with mostly friendly folks working and attendees, and some solid sponsors and shopping. However, there were only two food vendors on site. I purchased food from both of them. The pizza truck was great but we had to wait an hour for the pizza once I ordered and it made for one hangry son! The pita / hummus truck was a fifteen minute wait for my chicken bowl - not bad at all. I would suggest for future pickleball tours to build in more seating if possible and/or open the fences for better viewing / less crowds. As for the hotel, it's beautiful. I've stayed overnight, visited their spa, and had dinner onsite before. You can't go wrong with a JW Marriott and this facility is beautiful!

I am a Marriott Bonvoy card member and decided to use my points for a mini staycation. I've been to a few resorts in the Phoenix area, including other Marriott resorts, and this is now my favorite. The property is beautiful, and I forgot that I was in the dessert. I loved that I was able to get a mobile key and didn't have to wait to check in. The room was spacious and clean. There was a balcony with a beautiful view of the property. I loved that the bathroom had a separate tub. Everyone who worked there was very pleasant and friendly. The valet drivers, the servers at the pool, and even the gentleman opening the entrance door seemed to really enjoy their job. My only complaint is that the lazy river and water park hours, 11 am - 4 pm, are during the hottest times. It would be nice to extend the hours. I can't wait to go back and would definitely recommend this resort.

Last day in town we decided to get a resort pass to end our trip with a relaxing day.. booked over the website.. checked in at the front desk then made my way down stairs to change.. they have lockers but u need to bring a lock..for the Marriott I was disappointed in the very basic bathroom the shower handle was broken and it was only one shower..we started at the lazy river then to a few of the other pools.. they have a accommodations for everyone.. very beautiful and well kept.. we had a great time definitely would come back again would always bring the family.. to enjoy the water sides.. a few families were having a hard time getting their children to leave I dnt blame them.. staff was very nice and attentive.. make sure I order a strawberry daiquiri it was so good .. it's a million photos opportunities so make sure u bring a waterproof case

Had a great time with friends here strawberry daiquiris were delicious food portions are huge, which is really nice. My favorite thing about this is you meet a lot of locals having a staycation. They don't tote you around in golf carts, but it would be super nice if they did.. had enclosed golf carts with a little AC I might be too much lol

Wow. What a cool experience. Hotel is beautiful and great as any Marriott should be, but Jessica in security is the face and beauty of what hospitality service is. So understanding and patient even when people (myself included) can be grumpy from outside situations. She graciously handles and navigates situations while still showing respect and is such a breath of fresh air in a world of entitlement. Kudos Jessica and I wish there were 100 of you so I could hire you all.

This place is an absolute palace. Background: I stayed here in June of 2023 with my wife and three kids. We booked through Costco travel and got a great deal which included some perks like kids eat free and resort fee waived among other things. Room:We had a standard room with 2 queen beds. Our kids at the time of stay were 8 and 5. This room fit us all reasonably comfortably. It had a view looking out towards the mountains. The room was very clean. Pool:The main purpose of our visit was simply to relax and enjoy some time by the pool. We missed the waterslides as they opened three weeks after our visit. We still had a blast enjoying the pools and lazy river. The pools did get busy but we were able to find pool chairs easily. Great service by the pool servers with food and drinks. Of course everything is super priced up by the pool so be ready for that. Restaurants: They have a plethora of restaurants but the only place I utilized were Starbucks, the pool drinks/food, and the lobby bar for drinks. We ubered to some local restaurants and door dashed pizza for our dinners. Service: Check in was a breeze and our room was ready early. That's always a huge pet peeve of mine. I hate when a place tells your room isn't ready even though it actually is ready. All the servers, bartenders, valet parking, and everyone else was great. Have to say the security at the pool is a little over the top. They're super strict on the wrist bands and searching your belongings before you enter the pool area. Tips: There are grocery stores located super close. Stock your room with water and adult beverages. Bring a tumbler and pour your own drinks in that before entering the pool to save a little. There are lots of great restaurants near by if you need a break from the hotel restaurants. We went to In N Out Burger a few times as well as a few other spots. Final Thoughts: This resort is pristine and I would come back here in a heartbeat. Looking forward to trying the waterslides and the new adult pool area.I highly recommended this resort to both families and also couples. I think it's great for both.

I had the opportunity to try out this resort as a part of a conference. They have some great space and reception food. Also saw a wedding set up while we were there which looked amazing. Restaurant: Tia Carmen, Meritage both excellent. Amenities: Great place to come for a lazy river, water slides, and spa. We also tried out the driving range which was free, even if the golf rounds were very pricy. Did not have time for the pickle ball court but heard rave reviews all around. **They do have mosquitos in the outdoor grove in the women's spa area, so beware!

Top notch report with good bars, restaurants, shops, and more. I'd like it to be more centrally located, but a short drive is worth it

We totally enjoyed our vacation at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge. We heard that the lazy river had a very significant renovation so that got us to visit from NJ. Prior to arriving at the JW I also checked out all of the other exciting things to do at the resort and that's where I learned there are 17 Pickleball courts and now it was a dream come true! I called the Racket Center up and booked a lesson with Brian the pro + also signed up for some open play as well. What more could you ask for... Lazy River and Pickleball. RACKET CENTER - Loved my lesson with Brian. In the 1 hour we spent together, he really gave me some great pointers and improved so many aspects of my game. I only wish I lived closer. I have to thank both Eidi and Mickey for helping set up my lesson and arrange for my open play. What a beautiful facility they have there. And the locals that play during open play couldn't have been nicer. As a hotel guest, they welcomed me with open arms and I wish I could play with them every week. Playing Tip: Start playing early in the warmer months as it's very hot at like 11am. LAZY RIVER - There we're plenty of pools and tons of lounge chairs. However, during a holiday weekend the resort and all pools get VERY busy. The resort has special packages for locals and it's packed. After Labor Day it got much quieter. Whew! They also charge for some of the lounge chairs and have cabanas that you can reserve. Bring plenty of SPF! FRONT DESK - McKenna was super nice and couldn't be more helpful during our 6-day stay. We had an issue with our room and she made sure we were well taken care of and happy. She's a true professional that really made our vacation memorable. RESORT RESTAURANTS - We enjoyed Tia Carmen for breakfast pretty much each day we were there. we are Platinum Elite so Continental Breakfast was included. The food was plentiful, fresh and delicious. If you wanted custom omelettes or other hot food as well you could pay an up charge. There was a wide variety of fresh fruit, yogurt, bagels, lox, cream cheese and an assortment of pastries, bread and muffins and much more ! There is a Starbucks on property that in prime time hours gets very busy and takes quite a while. Plan ahead! A new Asian Fusion restaurant is opening soon. The restaurant/tavern by the Golf Pro Shop that is under renovation was just meh. We didn't have a car so leaving the property we had to do by Uber and there's not that much around nearby. You really need a car. The property was very well taken care of and manicured, and they keep building more. We enjoyed upgraded hospitality suite which was over 1400 square feet of room... ginormous! Being Platinum Elite does have its privileges sometimes! I'm sure there are tons of meetings that normally go on when it's not a holiday week/weekend. There's a gorg golf course we didn't use but plenty of folks did. There's also a beautiful garden with tons of cool cactus, trees, and flowers that you can walk thru and sit in. And every day there are tons of activities you can do from arts and crafts to hummingbird feeding which we did with Liza to lots of other fun stuff. Just ask the front desk or go online to see what's cooking when you're in town. Thanks for a very memorable vacation JW Marriott Desert Ridge and the entire village of workers that helped make our trip so special.

Our family loves the JW Marriott Desert Ridge. As an entire family, we all enjoy it. There's something there for all of us. It has One of the most beautiful golf courses in Arizona that has two 18 hole courses. The pools are beautiful theres 3 or 4 pools and a lazy river and three full-size waterslides. This resort has one of the best lazy rivers that any of the resorts have here in arizona the lazy River is very wide and long and it has a really good current. The pool is also temperature regulated so it's not too hot even though it's hot as Hades outside. One of my favorite things about the JW Marriott desert Ridge is the restaurant kembara! Kembara has some of the best chili crab I have ever had in my entire life. Their pork belly noodles were outstanding as well. We absolutely love the Vietnamese coffee donuts. They are like a delicious churro beignet with the most amazing Vietnamese, coffee, dipping sauce. The staff here is extremely friendly, especially at the pool. The poolside drinks and food are very good as well. there are lots of activities for the whole family from aromatherapy lotion and perfume, making classes to hummingbird feedings tie-dye shirt, making for the kids lots and lots of fun activities. An amazing spa and again one of the best golf courses and all of Arizona featuring 36 holes.! the restaurant, Tia Carmen, you are in Tulum. It's beautifully decorated with very BoHo decor and an amazing breakfast buffet that has some of the best beef Birria I have ever had. Also don't forget to get the Tres leches French toast.! we come here as locals for a family staycation and we greatly enjoy it this trip. We were only supposed to stay for two nights and extended our trip for 4. Once you get here, it's hard to leave.

Easter brunch! Wow I was so impressed by the food and service! Despite questionable weather we were seated inside versus our preference at our original reservation was outside. I figured it'd be crowded and loud but we had a beautiful room that was spaced nicely from others. The king crab legs cut in half, the huge shrimp, and lamb chops was hands down best buffet experience I have ever had. The chilled crab was sweet, easily came out of the shell. I only wished for warm butter. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and huge! The tender lamb chops were plated beautifully on bed black rice and sweet sauce. There was a delicious chicken, vegetable soup that was heavenly! Our waitress and server took great and personalized care of us and to ensure our 4 year old had a special Easter experience! They were both attentive and kind. Great job Marriot! We will be back. The Princess hotel is getting too greedy with price gouging. I love the new decor and can't wait to try ur Asian themed restaurant where the egg hunt took place! The lady in charge of egg hunt and E bunny was also cute, cheerful and kind! The Easter bunny even personalized his day with helping my grandson find eggs! It was cute!

We recently stayed at the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge while my husband attended a conference there. While fairly isolated on the north end of Phoenix, this is a gorgeous resort which basically had everything we needed. The lobbies were spacious. They had complimentary fruit-infused water within the lobby. The staff (particularly the housekeeping staff and Meritage staff) were courteous and helpful. The rooms were updated, clean, and well appointed. The bed was comfortable. There was a fridge, a safe, ironing board within the suite. I liked that they had two separate seating areas, plus additional chairs on the balcony. The bathroom in our suite had a tub and separate shower. The shower amenities such as shampoo, conditioner and body wash were provided in a multiple use size in the shower. On the property are a few great restaurants including one specializing in Sonoran cuisine. They have a Starbucks which is open early every morning. Outside, the grounds (which include a golf course) were spacious. Seating areas with fire pits come in handy for the cooler evening temperatures. The daily resort fee exacted per room gives you access to amenities such as the pickleball court, fitness classes, and one complimentary dessert from one of resort's restaurants. The pool had a waterslide and lazy river. It really felt like a destination within a destination. But if you tire of the restaurants on site, the Desert Ridge Marriott is a short walk or drive from the nearby Desert Ridge marketplace where there was a Target and a good choice of restaurants. I would definitely stay at this fantastic resort if visiting Phoenix again.

I did not stay at this hotel, just came for the day to rent a cabana until I could get into my Airbnb. Had a great experience. Staff and management were very accommodating. Watermelon lemonade and nachos with beef were 10/10.

We stayed here for a night because my husband's fraternity had their Christmas party there! The service was outstanding! We had just the standard room and it was awesome! We had a private balcony with nice views and the room was really spacious!! Oh, and the Christmas decorations were stunning! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we look forward to returning!

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience during my stay. Pretty disappointed. It was a beautiful property, however.

For a week of work meetings, this was a very nice experience. Beautiful grounds, large event spaces and comfortable rooms. The resort has a very professional catering staff and excellent food options. The pool area is more like a destination water park with a lazy river and soon to open water slide park. While I didn't get to really experience it for myself on this trip, I'd likely not return to this resort for personal time because it's a very large property and there are simply too many people here to have a relaxing experience. For work though, absolutely. Don't make the mistake i did and assume Tia Carmen is just another generic hotel restaurant. This is something special. Make reservations. Special acknowledgment to the guest check-in associate who helped me out with finding a room in a rare secluded corner of the hotel for the week.

We purchased the stay through Costco Travel. Spent over $2k for 3 nights and 2 rooms. The purchase indicated adjoining rooms. On the first day and we arrived and parked in self parking before check in. If you are checking in, you should consider unloading at the front and then self parking. It was hot throughout our stay over 100 degree up to 118 degrees. So we valet throughout the trip. Check-in is at 4pm. Upon checking in, the line had built up with 4 people ahead of us. There was no one at the front desk, then a person appeared. It was approximately 3pm. Within 10 minutes, the front desk had 3 attendees to assist. It took almost 15 minutes of waiting in line and checking in. We had instructed the checkin woman that we had parked in self parking and that we had preferred valet due to the heat. She indicated that we wouldn't get charged for self parking. We indicated that we had requested adjoining rooms and it was indicated that there were rooms across the hall from each other since adjoins rooms were not available. We agreed as long as it was across from each other. It was not as we had expected. We went to our rooms to find them diagonally across from each other. So not off to a good start. The rooms had balconies for a view, though it was hot outside. The beds were both queen sizes with a small couch bed. This type of room can have 3 people per sleeping furniture unless you share then it can be 5 people. The downside to the room was that the toilet didn't separate from the shower area meaning you can have 1 person use it at a time. The Internet is free for Bonvoy members or pay $14.95 per day. The room has a safe, refrigerator and coffee maker. The reason for our visit was for the water park / slides with our family. The pool stayed open till 10pm for one area. The lazy river and slides close at 5pm. On our second day, we stayed out in the city eating and shopping. There are many shopping areas and eateries in this location. The 3rd day was spent at the pool. We rented a cabana and the pricing changes depending on the day. The pricing was fair and the service extraordinary. I was informed that the paid 20% gratuity goes to the cleaners and pool attendants and not to your host attendant. So please pay them a gratuity for their services separately from the automatic payment when you book the cabana. The slides were fun according to the family. The lazy river was relaxing. The last day was checkout. Checkout is at 11am. On the TVs for both rooms, there was no information on our names or the billable amounts for our stay. We checked out downstairs. I am glad that we checked out downstairs. Our bill was overcharged for self parking for 3 days and a valet charge for the same 3 days. We had instructed the front desk that we were instructed that the self parking wouldn't charge since we didn't check in. However, when we did swipe our room keys to exit self parking, it triggered the auto self parking fees. Also, we were told that we would pay our final valet charges at the valet booth to close out our bill. Imagine if we didn't get our final bill at the front desk, we would have paid valet in full at the valet booth. Paid for self parking and valet for all 3 days. We were misinformed by our check in person if multiple things such as the adjoins room across the hall, the daily credit if $200 for both rooms ( found out it was $50 per day per room and that the charge is against each room), the self parking charge applied against our room and wasn't free as she indicated, she charged the valet on our bill though we were informed that we would close out our valet bill with the valet booth from another front desk staff) Usually, I wait to write this review till after the trip ends. I had high hopes to give this hotel 5 stars but it is what our checkin person did that changed these stars to a lower rating. We were misinformed and charged over. We had come to trust Marriott but if your team can't provide accurate info and customer service, it affects your credibility. Parking and Valet -1 ( correct your location to close out bill) , Room +1, Pools and Slides +1, Restaurants and Activity +1, Customer Service and Information-1 ( Train your staff on the correct info) Overall stay -1 (It started good and dropped with overages , though it was corrected. It was the trust that was lost)

I just wanted to leave this review for my weekend stay at JW Marriot. We arrived exhausted from a late flight and waited almost 1.5 hours to get our rental car (at the airport, this had nothing to do with the hotel or their car rental vendor). My husband and I accidentally parked in a parking lot farther away from the hotel lobby and were carrying our luggage in the 100 degree heat at 9:30pm. Luckily Zack (or Zach) spotted us struggling and kindly helped us get to the lobby via golf cart. When checking in, Katrina made the process extremely easy and assigned us such a beautiful room. We appreciate you Zack and Katrina! You guys are amazing! The dining experience in Tia Carmen the next morning was great. The water slides are very fun and it was nice to have the lazy pool option. When checking out at 5am, Chris was also very helpful and kind with the process. Overall, it was such a relaxing getaway in one of Arizona's hottest weekends. The employees here are so nice and kind. Thank you so much!

This resort is really nice and lived up to the Marriott reputation. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. The service and hospitality were great and I truly enjoyed my stay here. I enjoyed the gym, the pool, the bike rental and all the things. It was conveniently located near a shopping plaza with restaurants and stores. I will definitely go back and stay again.

Beautiful hotel. We dropped off a friend who is staying here. While here we did have something to drop off at FedEx which is located in the hotel facility. There is valet parking as you pull up to the portico. Otherwise, park your car in the lower lots and walk up to the hotel. Staff are inviting and friendly. Free WiFi.

Nice thing about staying at JW Marriott is that you know what to expect. We stayed here in May '24 and really liked it. I live for the day when we don't have to mention the cleanness of rooms and friendliness of staff as it should be a given in any hotel that charges money for their service, but for now we still have to and this resort was 5 out 5. Kids loved the lazy river. There are multiple restaurants at the resort (open later in the day), boutiques, and Starbucks (open all day, which was nice).

My husband and I came to this lovely oasis in the desert resort. This was to celebrate our anniversary with a staycation. Great upgrade with the addition of the big water slides right next to the isle of Capri, along side, with the amenities of a full golf course, free, driving range, usage, free, rental bikes, free, tennis, and pickle ball court usage, they have auditor is it all for couples and families alike to enjoy all of their superb amenities.

Came for a birthday overnight. Lazy river relaxing. Tia Carmen; Rebecca was so awesome to cater to some dietary issues. The from desk celebrated my birthday with bountiful gifts!!! Thanks Laura.

Where do I start? After a not so pleasant check in by the front desk I took a deep breath and repeated my mantra..."This is an anomaly. Check-in at a JW is usually friendly, welcoming, professional and cheerful. A space alien has taken over this agent's body and if Mrs. JW Marriott would have seen how this Titanium guest was treated... Ohmmmm. Go back to your happy place...Lucky for me in a casual conversation about my experience with a wonderful waitress I was quickly reassured that a alien space craft was indeed seen on the property and that everything possible was being done to reverse my experience. And it was. So thank you, thank you and thank you. First of all the property is gorgeous and as a Phoenician I remember when this new oasis joined the many beautiful resorts of my hometown. The grandeur of the lobby, the fountain, the staircase, the views, the windows, the infused waters, the lounge...all of it...so beautiful. However, I do miss ROY'S my favorite restaurant that once anchored the hotel. But the newcomer...TIA CARMEN (which by the way I do have a Tia Carmen...God rest her soul) wow, what a culinary genius behind the menu and kitchen! And the decor?! WOW! Calming muted tones with Tulum beach vibes. You'll be transported for sure. I can't say enough about it. We spent a day out at the pool and paid extra for concierge service. Yes it was worth it. Cabanas will run you about $700 for the day-I hope some food and a few drinkies were included for this price! I did see a falconer on the property with his beautiful Harris Hawk and I'm so happy that the hotel splurged for this amenity because it helps to keep all the birds and crows away from invading your space. The bathrooms though...ugh! worse than a public beach. Get some housekeeping to keep them tidy throughout the day please! No excuse when you have a whole department dedicated to cleaning. And please tip your maids daily they are some of the hardest working staff members in the back of the house.

We found the rooms to be comfortable and very clean! My request of early check in was granted which was appreciated. Everything was in working order, lots of amenities ( we didn't have much time but they sounded amazing!) Room was dark and we were able to sleep in. Paying to self park as a guest at a very expensive resort is a disgrace, many guests are locals and paying $23 a day to park should be reconsidered. It's just plain greedy! However the mobile check in was not at all convenient, after treading through 110°+ heat and to our room, the mobile key didn't work. I followed the steps to ensure there should be no issue and I had to make my way down to the lobby to get keys. I tried again through our stay to no avail. There needs to be a new system involving pool wristbands , we waited 10 minutes in high temps to get our bags checked and were accused of asking for more wristbands than the 5 allowed. The employee assumed the group of 5 teenage boys were with our group of 4 adult women, no question just assumption. The lazy river didn't seem quite able to keep up with the amount of people in it due to construction of the other pools. But you MUST try their lazy river and pina colada, literally the best.

The resort is beautiful. Everyone was so friendly. The pools were pristine. I took my manager here today for an offsite and she had a blast ! Delicious food the drinks are plenty and the grounds are very well kept. I hope to be back next quarter.

We came to stay 3 nights here Wednesday June 21st through Friday the 23rd. This place is huge. They have a ton of conferences here, the conference area is humongous with meeting areas, & places to eat. This spot would be the perfect location to have a work week conference at, as you would look forward to your free time when work was over, whether it would be at the pool or any of the other options nearby in Desert Ridge. The pools setup here is nice, was pretty bummed the waterslide was out, and have no clue why it would be worked on June and not the winter, but it is what it is. The rooms are nice with some having awesome views of the golf course, or front of resort decor, or pool areas. Customer service at this hotel was nice/good too. Only issue with any employees was the security guy at the pool check in. He saw we had a nerf football, actually a much lighter weight one, and said if we threw the ball at the pool they'd kick us out. Really? for tossing a football in the pool, after others were doing it the day prior, and as we walked up this day 10 seconds after talking with him. The topper had to be him doing his rounds and trying to tough guy stare down these 2 kids throwing their football around, then doing nothing about it or to them. Little tip there Sgt Peppers, don't make threats to good paying guests. Overall this place was nice, and I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

OMG I loved this resort. We just stayed here July 23rd weekend for a staycation to enjoy the pool and lazy river. The first day it was about 110 degrees and the pool and the lazy river were understandably warm. The next day was about 100 and the water temperature was perfect. Saturday was really busy at the pool. Sunday was much quieter. We didn't check in until the afternoon and it was hard to find chairs by the main pool. What I don't like it that they have ALOT of chairs which you can reserve by another pool to have a guaranteed spot which were really expensive. They should leave those chairs for anyone to use so that there is enough chairs for everyone at the resort. The rooms are expensive enough without charging more for a pool chair. The service was pretty nonexistent by the pool. I expected alot better service. We had to go to the bar to get our drinks. If I wanted food, I had to walk around until I found a waiter. The food menu by the pool was not great. I got shrimp tacos one day which were very plain but then we went to Roy's restaurant for their Happy Hours both days (3:30-6:30 and 8-10 I think). I will write a separate review for them but you must eat and drink here during HH. So worth it. I loved the DJ by the main pool and am always obsessed with lazy rivers. It was mostly young - middle aged adults and some families with kids. The hotel grounds, the buildings and the rooms all looked so well maintained and really nice. I liked the bathroom amenities as well. We are Gold Elite and unfortunately we did not get a complimentary room upgrade. They did however give us the late checkout. Unfortunately check-in was not great. We checked in on the app but then went to get our keys and wristbands at the front desk when we got there. The woman who helped us barely spoke two words to us and didn't tell us there were any amenities that were included. I learned after we left we were supposed to get a free dessert at one of the restaurants, we could checkout bikes, play golf at the range and do some of their classes. Why wasn't any of this told to us at checkin?

Stunning and elegant place to stay and also a phenomenal resort for accommodations for any big event in order to accommodate large business needs. The garden area is breathtaking. I've personally stayed here as a getaway and it's beautiful.

Staying for the WOW conference First positive, this is a beautiful well kept resort it has 5 restaurants, spa, golf course and aqua park Check in was seamless My only complaint is the bed is too soft and the cable is terrible. I had to purchase Netflix so I could watch something when I had time. The bed I'm now having back pain, I have a massage scheduled so I'm hoping that helps. The staff is efficient .

One year after our first trip, we came back! This resort really is one of our new favorites. To our surprise, they added 3 new, amazing water slides! We stayed in a room that was clean and cool, standard but just fine. The pool is fantastic! Grown-ups can lounge kids can run back and forth between the slides and splash pads, and the whole family enjoys the lazy river. We did the slides with the kids, too, and they were great! It does, of course, get busy on the weekends, so it wasn't totally worth it to wait in the lines for us. The service all around was fantastic. The bartenders, servers, housekeepers, and honestly, everyone we encountered were excellent. We will hopefully be back next year!

The JW Marriott is an amazing hotel that I very much recommend. It's perfect for a trip with the kids but also great for adults to relax and have fun. The hotel had a gym, amazing restaurants, and live music that I personally enjoyed so much! If you're ever in town I highly recommend the JW Marriott. The bracelets were a pain in the ass though.

Friendly staff, clean hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the bath towels were very nice. We ate at one of the restaurants in the hotel and it was very nice. The bathrooms could use better lighting, not enough lights to put on makeup. But really the only thing I didn't care for is the parking. It's hot. If you don't use valet service which we do not, you're gonna walk. Valet gets the close parking, all others must use the further lot which was generally full making for a sweaty experience.
