Amazing stay. Log hut experience was good. Very kind staff. Great safaris. Wasn't lucky enough to see a tiger or leopard. But lot of other sightings. Lots of birds. Food is very homely and tasty with less oil. Breakfast is elaborate. Lights off by 10pm. And early morning say 3 am to 5pm no regular power... so no fans aswell. Rest all fine. Over all a superb stay 5🌟

We had a pleasant experience there, food was great- nice options in buffet for both veg and non-veg. Rooms are big, spacious and functional. They were clean and decently maintained. This being a jungle resort and at this price point we don't expect it to be luxurious. You can hear sounds of nature throughout the day, that is delightful.

Wonderful stay experience. Polite and courteous staff. Simple and neat rooms. Food was simple and too good like home cooked. Safari drive was good, animal spotting is purely your luck so it can be good or bad. Nature is so green and lovely to spend in such pleasant environment.

The pros and cons CONS The property has got no electricity connection. It completely runs on solar power and generator. The power runs out anytime after 10.30pm( based on crowd) and they do not switch on Generator till 5 am in the morning. The rooms(the standard ones and delux) are very claustrophobic and stuffy esp during summer with no fan or air. For the money they charge they should ensure proper power supply which is the basic of all the facilities PROS 1. Amazing location and complete wilderness. Safaris were good, our driver and guide Mr Narayanan was well experienced and knowledgeable wrt forest, animals and birds 2. Good and tasty food as compared to other Jungle Lodges. Was good on stomach and service was very good

Ambience 4/5 Comfort 3/5 Activities 4/5 Service 3/5 Value for money 3/5 ||I have been a regular visitor to Jungle Lodges and quite familiar with its value proposition. One should stay here if you want a quiet time amidst nature and you enjoy Jungle Safari. ||What I like: |1. JUNGLE SAFARI - They have a very good system for safaris in the morning at 6 am and afternoon 330pm. Safari is complimentary with the stay and you can do as many as you wish. Each Safari lasts for 2-3 hours and they take you in a jeep which can accommodate about 8 people. ||2. FOOD & SERVICE: Like every Jungle Lodges, all the meals and tea/coffee is included with the stay. Food is hygienic, tasty and homely. They serve it with a lot of love. ||3. ACTIVITIES: Apart from the Safari, they have a library, table tennis, carrom, Chess and Gilli danda. They also have a hammock outside every room. ||What can be done better:||1. STAY : They have 5-6 tent style rooms, 5 log huts and a few normal rooms. We stayed in the last log hut Bilgiris. The room is quite spacious with all necessary things. But two things can be improved.|A) There are no ceiling fans and the room has only one table fan. It is not enough in the weather of April and we felt uncomfortable. We requested for an extra fan and the request was turned down. ||B) We requested for an extra mattress which came after some deliberation. But the quality of mattress was so bad that we decided to not use it as adjust kids with us.||2. VALUE FOR MONEY - Prices of the stay are quite high and keep on increasing. I didn't feel the value for money against what was offered. ||3. ATTITUDE OF STAFF: While most staff is good, there are a few staff members who are lazy and just expect tips. Staff should be trained and taught that this is not a typical KSRTC hotel and people expect good service. On the Day 1, driver and guide were helping only the family sitting in front and were talking only in Kannada. There could be tourists coming from outside state who would expect info too and preferably in Hindi/English. I feel guide should be allocated based on the preferred language of guests and the guide should explain everyone.||In my personal opinion, there is a clear scope to do better.

The property is beautifully located, offering a peaceful escape deep in the forest. The food was simple yet delicious, and the rooms were clean and comfortable, equipped with all the essential amenities you'd expect in such a remote setting. The staff were courteous and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience at the lodge.||However, the Jungle Safari was a letdown. During both safari drives, we were repeatedly taken along the same stretch of road and its immediate parallel track—essentially circling the same limited area multiple times. This repetitive routing significantly reduced the chances of diverse wildlife sightings. As a result, we saw very little in terms of animals or birdlife, which made the experience feel monotonous and disappointing, especially for a forest known for its biodiversity.

Our friends group enjoyed two days of stay at this property. Apart from the excellent rooms and services, safari rides were an added attraction. All staff members were very polite and helpful.

This Place is called K Gudi 'Wilderness Camp', so amenities are basic. Don't expect city comforts! Quiet forest surroundings, yes! We visited end Apr.2025, stayed in a STD room - not the cottages you see in pics. View from the cottages is lovely, but more expensive. 11 cottages and about 6 STD room in the main block. Our Room was large non AC, comfortable, with clean bathroom, solar hot water. Food is served on a common dining hall, away from the cottages and main block. Excellent, tasty vegetarian food, served hot., buffet style. Courteous restaurant staff. Because location is remote in a forest reserve, controlled by Govt.Forest Service. amenities are restricted. No cell phone signal. Very limited wifi near rooms, WhatsApp works. Main activity is jungle Safari in jeeps - 3 hrs each, late afternoon and early next morning. Your luck if you see tiger or elephant. Mostly birds, Gaur buffalo and langur. The shared safari ride is rough, bumpy, gruelling; if you have back problems, best to avoid. The guides don't warn you. My opinion/suggestion - budget travelers might consider staying at KSTDC Mayura about 20 km away at BR Hills, and go for the safari package, which costs around 450/- per head.for 1 hour. Bonus is Ranganathaswamy Temple, which is walking distance from Mayura hotel.
