We had our work holiday party at K1 Speed Burbank last Friday and had an absolutely AWFUL experience with the customer service, specifically from the manager on duty Kara.
I have been in communication with Selena from corporate for weeks, organizing the itinerary and the catering for the event and the staff at the Burbank location either was not given that information or deliberately ignored everything we discussed.
I was told our event including the racing and access to the private room would begin at 7:30pm and the catering we ordered in advance would be ready and waiting for us at that time. However, the staff called us for our first race at 7:00pm before our whole party was even present which caused a lot of confusion. We thought we'd be in the room for a bit first to settle in and greet everyone as they arrived, but instead we were thrown straight into the race with no warning.
Next, our room and the catering were both unacceptably late. We didn't get into the room until at least 8:00 and the catering came out later than that. Myself and other members of our party repeatedly checked on the room availability and the catering and the staff was very unhelpful. We were told multiple different ETAs from different staff members and no one seemed remorseful for being late.
Our party also was supposed to come with 2 free drink tickets and a monetary credit for concessions for each person. I assumed, these would be given to me when I checked in however I had to ask to get the drink tickets and the staff NEVER gave us the credits.
Finally, when the staff gave me the bill at the end of the night, it included the entire party and the catering. I had put down a deposit for half the group in advance and the catering was included in the fee which I had to explain to no less than 3 different employees before they adjusted the price.
To reiterate, the customer service was ABYSMAL. You would think this venue does multiple parties a week, if not a night, and would have it down, but the staff was so lost and unhelpful and the manager's attitude did not go unnoticed by our entire party.
I will be talking to corporate about my experience. Do better.
