Kaandela Restaurant

This restaurant was nothing short of amazing. We had the 6 course meal from the central region of Panama. The fish, pork belly and their take on the “arroz con guandu” that adds a coconut curry is to die for. To top it off, the dessert “buscando guayaba” simply melts in your mouth and all the flavors from the guava and vanilla are left behind. We enjoyed everything. For your visit, make sure to book the bar area. I made the mistake of booking regular seating and it wasn’t as fun as it could have been. The bar lets you see the kitchen and can be more interactive. Drinks were also very good. Great service and very attentive, even when the courses came a little later than expected.

We enjoyed the six-course tasting menu at KAANDELA, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Our server, Yenny, was lovely and attentive — there was a slight language barrier at times, but she made sure everything went smoothly and we felt well taken care of. I did the wine pairing with the tasting menu, and each pairing complemented the dishes beautifully. The flavors felt authentically Panamanian, giving us a real taste of the local culture and cuisine. The lobster course was the star of the show — perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor! We also loved the intimate ambiance and the thoughtful presentation of each unique dish. Overall, an excellent dining experience that highlights the creativity and flavor of Panama. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a true culinary experience in Panama City!

WOW! What a fantastic experience! Inventive, creative, varied, scrumptious chef’s tasting menu brought the flavours of Panamanian cuisine to life. Cannot recommend highly enough! James and the entire staff made our evening unforgettable.

Everything was great. The service, food and atmosphere. Miguel was our server and he was awesome. He was super knowledgeable and was able to answer all or our questions regarding the food: preparation and ingredients. The papaya salad, pork pops, short rib and lobster and rice was amazing. We will definitely go back.

This restaurant is humble fine dining. Our server and the rest of the staff were very attentive. The ambience is cute and enamoring. The food was more than delicious. It was a superb experience overall. The cocktails and N/A beverages were crafted exceptionally well. The wine list has something on there for everyone. Glynis was a fantastic server. Will recommend to anyone.

BEST dinner experience in Casco Viejo by far! My husband and I were here for our honeymoon. We tried the tasting menu and it exceeded our expectations. The manager, Luis, was attentive, personable, and fantastic at explaining each dish, their origin, and how best to eat it. 11/10! highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing! Delicious food and outstanding service! Especially from Juan, Miguel and Luis! They made us feel like VIP and we didn't even have reservations. Everything from the Lamb Kafta to the Prawns and Duck skillet. Even the Sticky toffee pudding and chocolate mousse was off the charts. Truly enjoying Panama and this visit makes it extra special.

I really enjoyed this place. If you’re gonna visit Panama, this is a great restaurant too stop at. Make sure you make reservations! The Lam falafel was the best! I will get two of those. Personally, I didn’t like the duck sausage. I loved all the cocktails. They were super good! The Caribbean coconut curry was amazing, I just wish they put more sauce and it was more thicke. The coconut rice that comes with it, I wish was or tastier. I really love the seating, especially against the wall when he first come in if it’s only two of you. Highly recommend getting one of those seats. The Customer Service was hands-down the best. Jenny was a great waitress and very funny. We had a great time with her.
