We came here at approximately 6:30 am after arriving in Puno with the Peru Hop bus only for breakfast. The price was fine and we were glad we found a place that was open this early in the morning. The breakfast itself was really delicious. They also made us omelette and the cake was great, too.

The hotel is in a great location, but the quality of the rooms can be inconsistent. I was asked to change rooms for my last night, and unfortunately, the new room wasn’t as nice. If you’re visiting Puno in winter (July–August), be prepared for some serious cold - including inside the hotel. The small heater provided offered very limited warmth. On a positive note, breakfast was excellent. The señora in charge of the kitchen was warm, efficient, and really made a difference. The front desk staff, however, could be a bit more welcoming; at times, even simple questions seemed to be met with reluctance.

Came here recently with friends during our visit to Puno for a night. The room was a little small but the beds were comfortable. Bathroom facilities are basic and clean. Staff are very helpful during our stay to address questions, resolve issues such as heating, and find out information about what to see in the city. Breakfast was simple but good choices available.

-15.83815°, -70.02856° Situated centrally in Puno, with easy access to the main square (Plaza de Armas), Puno Cathedral, train station, restaurants, and shops.||In April 2025, our room 206 was worn down. The room was extremely basic and dated and did not match the photos online. Carpet had holes and stains, stained pillow and mold in the bathroom. We did not inspect the bed to avoid leaving immediately. Lighting in the room was faulty and the staff gave us a bulb from the downstairs hallway. We had problems with the hot water supply. On the positive side: reliable and free Wi-Fi and varied breakfast buffet.||Any hotel is better than Kaaro Hotel El Buho. Stay away.

In town center, close to everything. Staff are very helpful, spoke good English. Wifi was spotty. Hot water for shower problematic. The room was typical for this category of hotel. They can assist with tours for a very reasonable price.

This is an OK hotel and I would stay here again if I couldn't find something better for the price. We stayed here before and after other excursions on the lake and to Bolivia. Both of our rooms had an unpleasant smell coming from the shower drain (most noticeable when coming back in when the windows had been closed) and the shower was only hot in the morning. Breakfast was Ok. You can ask for eggs. Hot water for tea and coffee is available but limited hours and often ran out (they should invest in a bigger dispenser - it is impossible for the staff to keep the existing thermus ones full as they are very small). Both times we arrived for check-in, early morning and evening but times that had been communicated, the door was locked, no one was at the desk, and no one answered the phone. We waited about 10 to 20 minutes. Staff were nice. They could provide more info on restaurants (there are only 2 they suggest) and activities. We appreciated that they allowed us early check-in for free and late check-out for a fee

Just what we needed for a one night stay in Puno before a tour of Lake Titicaca. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The hotel is clean, tidy and gives a sense of luxury. Incredibly comfortable beds and large rooms. Breakfast was included which helped us start our day just right. We were also able to leave our luggage for over 24 hours as we set off on our tour for free which was great. Thanks for a lovely stay.

No tea/coffee in the room and it was pretty cramped with two beds. Having said that, it was lovely and quiet, lovely pillows, nice thick blankets and the shower was fantastic once you set it to the right temperature. The breakfast was also nice but you have to get there early to get eggs as breakfast opens at 6am to allow everyone to join the various tours which tend to start at 7am. The location of the hotel is great; right in the middle of the town. The pizza restaurant right opposite is great too, there is a cashmachine around the corner and lots of little shops which sell pretty much everything. As there is a chain link at the end of the road there isn't much traffic going past, making it much quieter than in other parts of the town. The staff are lovely and helpful too. We would definitely stay here again.
