"A compact sake and cocktail bar fronted by a colourful Kabuki-inspired mural, offering a fine selection of Japanese sake, cocktails, whiskies and craft gins; signature offerings include the Kabuke POP (Wa Gin, sake, lime, cranberry and ginger ale) and tasting flights such as the Aragato, which present sake on a sweet-to-dry gradient." - Sanjay Surana

Google
This place is so dirty. The dishes the gave us are dirty the cooking surfaces look dirty and it WAY overpriced. Osaka or Sakura is a much better option. I will not be back. The staff is rude and miserable. The portion sizes are small for the price. Just all around a disappointing experience

Matthew N.

Google
They were bumping some heavy tunes which was cool but odd…. Food was very good The fish tank was pretty legit also

Alyssa L.

Google
Had a really good first experience here. The food was very good and the service was quick. Would definitely return.

Google
A fun, family place that serves delicious food. While the restaurant is rather spacious, seating for the Hibachi style cooking can be rather tight. You may end up sitting elbow to elbow with strangers. (Literally) If that is an issue, they have dining room seating where you can still order the Hibachi menu. The rooms are wheelchair accessible but once again the Hibachi area is close. The staff is great! There is plenty of Free Parking but pick your time wisely because it fills up quickly. (Parking is within the Mall parking) They accept cash and cards. Have a great time!

Google
Great experience with chefs cooking . Good for bid group of people, some celebrate 🎉 some events . Great atmosphere!

Frank P.

Google
Nice atmosphere to go with your family and friends, but pricey for mediocre food. The cook added extra salt when we asked for no added salt. With already salty sauces the added salt made the food inedible. The waitresses were rude and seemed to be bothered when we asked for more water or chop sticks. We will not go back.

Google
The waitress that gets drinks wasn't very friendly. But the chef and front desk was. The food was excellent! Will definitely go back!

Google
I enjoyed my meal here. The food was pretty tasty. Service was great, she was very attentive. I didn't know what to expect so I almost went elsewhere but I'm glad I decided to try it here. Now I can't wait to go back & try some of the other dishes.

Yelp
Ambiance when you walk in all employees just standing at the door and looked bothered that someone walked in interrupting them. Bad CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Waitress seems upset to be working on a Friday night. Food was disappointing.

Yelp
Kabuki came highly recommended to us from our neighbors who frequent the restaurant quite often. We trust their taste in food so we were excited to finally try for ourselves. Pro Tip: no reservations availabe To be honest, it didn't feel like we were off to a great start when we found out there were 2 tables in front of us and we had our very antsy little 1.5 year old. Luckily, the best part about hibachi is the food that is constantly coming out. Thank goodness for salad! We love that Kabuki serves noodles in addition to rice and boy are they good. We did order a sushi roll (which I do not remember the name of), it was ok. Certainly not running here just for sushi. As for an entree, I went with the filet and scallops. Both proteins were very tasty along with the rest of the accompaniments. AHK absolutely loved her first ever hibachi experience! "BACHI FIYAAA!!" as she says. Thank goodness for all of the other tables because she was loving all of the "shows." The food was up to her standards, and the rest of our party loved it too. TBH- I'm hibachi-d out right now, but I'm sure we will be returning at some point!

Yelp
Ordered take out . The BBQ squid was tough and overcooked. The soft shell crab roll was ok( nothing exciting) and the shrimp shumai was just OK. Nothing was exceptional.
google avatar

Yelp
the lunch menu has great prices for a big portion of tasty food. the bento lunch boxes came with miso soup, salad, rice, fried gyoza, california roll and your choice of a protein. i tried the shrimp tempura and the chicken maki. i'm ngl... i'm not the biggest fan of the chicken maki but the shrimp tempura was amazing. i would get that and would not recommend the chicken maki. the portions were so big we paid $30 for 2 people and had leftovers! very worth it especially if you order the right thing
google avatar

Yelp
Everything was very good. We had four for hibachi. The wait wasn't too long band we all got different entrees. The chefs performance was terrific. Our first time and we will go back

Yelp
Not good at all. I ordered food delivery and there was hair in my rice. It made me skeptical about the order items in the order. Rude management, called me demanding why I got a refund after I explained there was hair in it. Had the audacity to say he was going to come to my house to pick up the meal. I got a shrimp tempera meal, soft shell crab appetizer, and tonkatsu meal. The shrimp tempera wasn't bad. The soft shell crab was good but for $12, you get two small pieces of crab and the rest of it is green beans and broccoli fried up. The tonkatsu was so dry and powdery. Can't pay me to return. The food was bad and there was a long hair in our rice. What really weirded me out about this place was that I told the restaurant and I got a refund from Grubhub. The restaurant personally calls me demanding why I got a refund and told me they are going to come to my house and pick up the meal after I had thrown it out. He said he was going to come and I got so weirded out that I hung up. He called again and I didn't pick up. The guy on the phone was very threatening so I was lowkey scared. Would not be returning back here. Sad to see that this place is not consistent with other locations

Deborah J.

Yelp
Parking is ridiculous. Seats are too close together. Food was good but service is absolutely the worst. First one of our party went into the restroom so since he wasn't at the table when the waitress came for our drink order she was going to tell us we had to leave. Then after an argument with her she decided we could stay. Then when we were half done eating she gave us boxes. Didn't ask if we wanted dessert and brought out the next groups of dishes before we were even done our Drinks. We were there no more than an hour for a party of 7. Never will I ever go there again!

Stephen K.

Yelp
The whole vibe is chill but nice. Great spot for dinner with friends, family, or even a date. Highly recommend if you want good food and good service all in one place.

Yelp
Have you ever been to a hibachi grill before? You know, where the chef comes out with the cart, fires up the flattop, tosses a shrimp in your face, squirts some sake (or water for the kids), cooks your meal and moves on? If so, then you know what to expect from Kabuki! We were seated promptly. They have a lot of space. The food was just fine, no complaints. The only issue I had, is that as a party of 4, we had to wait for another party to show up before they cooked for us. It wasn't a long wait, but still, 15-20 minutes or wondering what the hold up was. Also, it was a little pricier than other hibachi's, but all in all, we enjoyed our dinner.

Cassandra L.

Yelp
The appetizer was good. Nothing to rave about but good. The fish was fresh. The problem was with the meal. I ordered a simple cucumber avo roll. When it came I immediately tasted chemical. I thought maybe the soy sauce was bad so I gave it one more chance and immediately spit it out. Something in the roll tasted like cleaning solution. Maybe it was from a not fully wiped surface or knife idk but when I told the manager she kept asking me what exactly was the problem I told her I would have to pull apart the roll and try each piece. I recommended they try it not to be smart but out of genuine concern for what you're serving other people. She didn't take me seriously at all and just walked away. Terrible customer service as most reviews here have said. If I had been taken seriously we might have come back bc my bf liked his food but if I'm telling you something tastes like a chemical and you're not concerned I can't trust you to cook my food. We'll never be back.

Yelp
The first time I came here I was so amazed. The inside is so beautiful & the servant was also very polite. It's very welcoming when you go there. Plus the food is so delicious too. I had white sticky rice with sesame chicken, it was a lot but I managed to finish quarter of it lmao . I'm sure it had a lot of options and it's also so yummy too. I would definitely recommend anyone going there for a date or a dinner. Check it out & get a mouth full!!

Yelp
Came here for a quick lunch and got exactly that, fast service nice fresh sushi and some quiet time..

Moonbeam _.

Yelp
They don't devein the shrimp! Gross! The workers look like they hate their jobs. I kindly asked for water and she said "huh?!" W no smile she was annoyed I asked. Ok passed that on to she's prolly having a rough day but then she barely placed the water on the table if I didn't catch it it would've fallen. They treated us like crap can't help but think it was bc of race cause when we sat down for hibachi every time I smiled he wouldn't even acknowledge me or smile back. Never mind his "entertainment" ! He threw a piece of raw zucchini at my 5 year old son. others got better treatment a smile even - more entertainment etc. the food was subpar service even worse. We were treated very poorly and rudely and we were nothing but cordial and polite. I would never go back.

Yelp
Food and fun! Haven't been to a hibachi restaurant in maybe 20yrs. Now, I did read reviews before my visit and I was concerned about how other patrons felt about the staff. The last thing I want is rude service. Honestly, the staff was fine. Rudeness is never an excuse but let's consider that culture plays a role in how some communicate. I'll leave that there. Now, the food was delicious! Fresh, flavorful and very filling. Portions aren't an issue. I'll return for sure.

Gina P.

Yelp
if I could give 0 stars I would. service was horrendous & then they told me the tip wasn't enough. I felt like taking the whole tip back. we were a party of 6 and celebrating my son's 13th birthday. none of us liked the food & I felt so bad for my son.

Push N.

Yelp
food was uncooked me and my fiancé left with our stomachs inside out. the cook gave us uncooked chicken tried to give us strimp without asking if i was allergic and don't get me started on the singing mixed with the forceful lady trying to make us leave a 20%tip when we didn't even eat 20% of the food.
google avatar

Jennie E.

Yelp
Absolutely loved my meal here. I got the chicken teriyaki bento box & made a few substitutions (such as soy paper in the sushi roll and veggie fried rice) and I thought the price was pretty reasonable for all this food. It was delicious & so fresh. I can't wait to go back again!

Yelp
We just came from dinner at Kabuki. I'd been here several years before and remember liking it very much. Things have definitely changed and not for the better. It's Sunday, Labor Day weekend and this was a spur of the moment decision and not busy at the restaurant at all. I give one star because although the food was very good, the service was atrocious. The staff is very rude and seem annoyed that they actually have to do their jobs and serve you. We greeted our waitress who didn't return our hellos. We thanked her each time she brought a dish but she barely looked at us, let alone respond. Had to repeatedly ask for a to go box before she brought them out. She dropped the bill on our table and didn't thank us once for our business. It's a shame because we did really enjoy the food. We'll never come back here.

Charlotte H.

Yelp
I say maybe so far cause the soup was horrible but main course was awesome and good and mushrooms awesome

Timmy H.

Yelp
DO NOT GO HERE. We ordered takeout but found HAIR AND A DEAD FLY in our food. For the price we're paying for?? JUST NO. We've eaten at the store before but never noticed problems until my husband and I went in during a quiet time. The managers were scolding the staff in front of us and we didn't understand why because everything seemed fine. The last time we were there all the staff look tired and overworked? It would make my family and I feel guilty for going there if the bosses are treating their employees like shit.

Satina C.

Yelp
Service was horrible!! The person at the front was being so rude. Sounds like the boss doesn't treat the employees with respect. Will not be coming here.
google avatar

Abdou B.

Yelp
Sometimes you need a bad/worst experience to realize that other places are not as bad. Service is horrible here (check jn process, customer service...) and the food is just meh at best. The place looks good and is a byob place however i would not recommend to a fam with young kids (loud, not friendly...) Verdict: one and done
google avatar

Tatiana M.

Yelp
The food is good and authentic. the environment is cozy. However, the last time we eat at their habbachi tables, the chef that cooked our food in front of us, he served our children considerably less than everyone at the table. My children are 15 and 12, and we pay adult price for them. If they'd eat a full portion is none of the chef's business. His job job was to respect us for paying full price and serve a full portion. I spoke to the manager KiKi and he offered $15 in exchange for a ruined experience. Poor customer service.

Cassie P.

Yelp
I dined at this establishment on Saturday April 27,2024 for dinner. The staff was terrible and the food was worse than that. To start, the silverware was smeared with stains from the previous user. The host twisted our arms into eating in the dining room because it was a 25 minute wait for the hibachi dining experience. Had I known that the noodles and rice would look and taste as if they were cooked the day before, I would never have done it. I assume it was near the end of the night and they knew they needed to get rid of excess food and charge patrons so that they do not have a loss. I ordered filet and scallops as my protein this, was also terribly over cooked. The server finally saw that I was trying to get her attention. She got the manager. When I asked that the meal be removed from my bill and I showed him why. The flat scallops and curled shrimp were clearly overcooked however the manager looked at it as nothing was wrong. He said he would take it off of my bill but he was going to charge me for the salad that I ate. Then after excessive amount of time (20 minutes or so they finally brought the check. We sat and waited and waited for them to bring the credit card back and I'm sure this was on purpose. Just another instance of their rudeness. We had a party of 7 so tip was automatically included. I've had the hibachi experience before and the food was good however staff is rude and they rush you. The fact that management had no problem with any of this is just unacceptable. MY MONEY IS BETTER SPENT WHERE MANAGEMENT IS ACCOUNTABLE AND ATTEMPTS TO FIX A WRONG KABUKI IN CHERRY HILL NJ IS NOT THAT PLACE. Do yourself a favor and don't risk it.
google avatar

Evan F.

Yelp
Pretty good hibachi restaurant. Fun atmosphere. It's the first hibachi restaurant I've been to that serves noodles with the meal!

Heather K.

Yelp
I was post colonoscopy and wanted a light first meal of chicken and rice. My daughter took me to Kabuki for lunch which proved to be a perfect choice. Starting with a hot green tea, I ordered the teriyaki chicken bento box and my daughter went with the shrimp tempura bento box. Both came with miso soup and a salad. The soup was well balanced- not too salty at all, the salad super fresh and crisp with a delightful ginger dressing. The portions of our meals which included gyoza and California rolls were bountiful and the presentation very pleasing. Most importantly every bite was beyond delicious. Our server was pleasant; checking in on us throughout. I look forward to returning soon to try the sushi which looked amazing from the multiple orders i saw served to our neiboring table.
google avatar

Alexis H.

Yelp
Went for hibachi with my family for the price we felt rushed and the place was pretty much empty. The staff is very unfriendly and they stood in a Citicorp watching us eat and whispering. Good okay mediocre for the price. Have this place a few tries and was disappointed every single time with how the staff is. Will never return.
google avatar

Eve R.

Yelp
HIBACHI: I had the most uncomfortable dining experience at Kabuki that left me feeling violated and disrespected. The four female servers seemed more interested in observing the guests than providing a pleasant dining experience. As we were finishing up our dinner, another party came in with plus sized guests. The servers turned their attention from us to them.. and it was very obvious that they were degrading them as well. This type of behavior is not only unprofessional but also disrespectful to customers.

Cc C.

Yelp
Sushi was pretty good. Felt service was on the slower side. Nice menu and they also have hibachi.. maybe next time I will try.
google avatar

Alex O.

Yelp
This place is awful and I do not want to come back here again. The only thing I liked was the fried rice. I got the filet mignon hibachi. The filet did not taste good. The pasta smelled weird. The vegetables were alright. I also got the bento box. The California rolls were decent. I hated the chicken tempura sushi. Gyoza was bad. Rice was okay. The sprite was flat.

Robert S.

Yelp
Awesome service, and food . Very friendly and clean. Would have taken a photo but devoured it to quickly!
google avatar

Bill J.

Yelp
Very disappointed in the management and staff at Kabuki. My son has a disability and we were treated very poorly by this disgraceful establishment. We were ignored for service and finally when served... were rushed out in the rudest of fashion. There are laws against discrimination against people with noted disabilities... but this place just ignores and disrespects to the most vulnerable of people. Ps... the food was subpar at best. There are far better places to get your sushi fix.... Stay away!
google avatar

Cynthia W.

Yelp
This is my daughter and I favorite spot. We love to come here for a lunch or dinner. However, due to the pandemic we have been taking our meals to go. Which is still fine, we still get the soup, salad and entrée plus the sauces were would normally get eating in. Our last visit the place was a little crowded and I almost left part of my meal but when I remembered there was a friendly waiter running outside to catch me. I can't wait to return for another meal.

Bob T.

Yelp
Typical hibachi style setting. Typical menu and pricing. I ordered steak (not filet mignon) and lobster, my daughter ordered steak and scallops. Cost was I think about $33-$35 each. Normal setup with chef flipping veggie into mouth, and lighting oil on fire. I understand that some of the cost goes towards that. I have eaten at Kiku in Alpine, NJ as well as Benihana various locations. No complaints at any of them. They come out with the tray of food (see picture) and it has only 1 steak on it. I thought they forgot one of ours. It looks to be about 10 ounces or 2 decks of cards. He cuts it up, grills it, and puts half on my plate, half on our daughters. It was seriously less than the meat in a normal size hamburger. Even the meat inside lobster tail was small to medium in size. But I wouldn't have complained about that. Scallops looked better. 4-5 medium size. I called over the manager and asked about the steak. He told me with combos, you get 6 ounces of meat. That is ridiculous especially considering the price. I wish I had taken a picture of the steak on my plate after cooking and dividing in half! Service was poor. After drinking my glass of water, I set my glass on the corner of the seating are so they could see it. Nobody ever refilled it. Even after I asked the manager to please ask someone to. So eat at your own risk. And when you leave hungry, remember this review!

Yelp
Went here for the first time this past weekend. It will definitely be my LAST time too!! Food was good but I have never been treated how the waiters treat you here ever. Rushed us to order, basically threw take home boxes at us and basically had the chairs taken out from under us!! Very very rude staff will not come here again!!
google avatar

Greg T.

Yelp
I am conflicted here...while the food was good, and the service ok -- we were very surprised that this restaurant was operating at 100% capacity. Customers either wore masks or not, which seemed to be at their discretion. Next time, I will only do take out.

Karen S.

Yelp
The food was good but the service was awful. our server had the worst attitude and was getting smart with our party of 25!!! I will never go back to the place again!!!! they gave my reservation away because all of us was not there at 6 and they had the nerve to say we gave your table away and there's nothing we can DO!!!!! no We WILL wait!! then to treat us like we was not paying customers!!! Glad we were celebrating a 30th Birthday and made the jokes on them!!! server lil Hoe

Luis G.

Yelp
I have been to Kabuki 4 times now; all good experiences. Sushi and sashimi is fresh and served well. Also try the sesame chicken with fried rice. Staff was friendly and did a great job at explaining the menu. I wish the menu had more variety but the overall selection is very good. The price is the real standout here; great quality and presentation for good price. Definitely recommend.

Joanne H.

Yelp
VERY rude staff--called to make a reservation and the man who answered-RUDE. Woman "in charge" RUDE screaming at the staff. Rushed beyond rushed. Asked my 80 year old father if he enjoyed his birthday and he said "I didn't like that woman" which made me sad. I wish Yokohama would bring back their Hibachi because my family and friends will never go to Kabuki again.

Jan J.

Yelp
Very rushed. Amazing they can feed a full table in less than 1.5 hours. The waitress and a woman in a hoodie(maybe running the show) got into a screaming fight right in the middle of the place because we were waiting for 2 more people to come and we had not ordered yet-it was 10 min past our reserv time. Not friendly AT ALL. Chef was nice and the food was good, fun for a birthday but the staff made it stressful. A shame there aren't many hibachi places around, but won't be back here.

Yelp
Food was great and customer service was amazing. I love how they consistently check to make sure we was okay and didn't need anything def will be coming back

Yelp
Definitely one of the better sushi spots in the area. I was taken by surprise when I ate here in a good way. The locations is awesome and there is tons of parking (same lot as brio and Cheesecake Factory.) the mood walking in was really cool and clean. The lighting was awesome and their presentation was beautiful. I ordered some vegetable rolls and Gyoza for the appetizers. Both were incredible and authentic and you could tell the gyoza was handmade their. The veggie rolls were perfect ... the sweet potato roll fried in a light tempura batter hand rolled. The asparagus and avocado roll was filling and tasty. I also got a cucumber avocado roll which was very clean and fresh. I also ordered the sesame chicken which wasn't that soggy corner store mystery meat. This was crispy white meat chicken tossed in a savory sauce. I will definitely be back !

Kenny D.

Yelp
Went there for daughter's birthday we did not do the hibachi we sat in the dinning area of the restaurant Food was mediocre at best was definitely not worth what we paid for But the staff was horrible - never again will I eat there They staff seemed very "aggressive", and rude as if we were a bothersome to them We should've went to Akira in Voorhees or Volcano in Berlin both of those places make you feel very welcome. And the food is much better

Samantha B.

Yelp
if I could give less then 1 star I would. This place is awful and so is the staff. They are rude degenerates that think the customer is the problem. My family got food poisoning and we called to let them know and they yelled at me and told me nobody gets money back. We spent well over $200 on dinner and the kids had so much fun watching the dinner, only to have it ruined by violently getting food poisoning. Awful staff, customer service and to be honest it smells in there too
google avatar

Kabeley C.

Yelp
Aesthetically pleasing. Food wise it was okay you get what you would get at any hibachi place, there wasn't anything special to it. It gets two stars because the service was that bad. I came to eat with my family for my birthday and we felt rushed to order and as if we were a bother due to an attitude from the waitress. The restaurant was not busy and we were the only table sitting in the hibachi area, therefore I do not see any reason as to why we were being rushed (regardless that is not how you treat a customer). For a $500 bill I would expect to leave at least semi satisfied but instead I left annoyed . The overall experience guarantees we will not be returning.

Yelp
I am into Japanese cuisine like a fat kid is into cake. Kabuki is the spot you'd want to visit if you have an infatuation for Japanese cuisine. From a date night, hanging with friends, to lets bring in the family in, you'd enjoy your visit here. Sushi and Sashimi Experience~ I have to admit their Sushi/Sashimi game is tight. I'll literately destroy Sushi like a boss, and their Sashimi is on point. I'll sink a "Love Boat" and not even feel guilty about doing it. As I chime in "The Looooove Boat exciting and new, come aboard... " I'll tear it down like the Pacific Princess to the ocean. Isaac the bartender and the rest of the crew will not survive this Hurricane. If you are not sure what Sashimi is or how it differs from Sushi it's simple. Sashimi is a Japanese delicacy that consists of fresh raw fish or meat sliced into thin cuts. Add some of their Wasabi and good night , game over folks. Hibachi Experience ~ Oh yea we rocked out hibachi like a champ one night. I went with the Filet Mignon with Lobster and Scallops. Oh this is an ultimate surf and turf combo. I owned this like a boss, or maybe it owned me seeing I was in an euphoric state of mind. The atmosphere is vibrant, the staff keeps your attention with the antics they do. A jovial little guy wheeling those spatulas with flames rising. A whole new meaning of ring of fire ! The food is on point, great flavors blowing up your taste buds like it was 1999. Now that's a good party right there with the warm Sake shots they'd give you. Great staff, great vibes coming out of here like I had mentioned earlier. Go in and enjoy! https://youtu.be/m_wFEB4Oxlo

Yelp
Even one star is too much. Went here last year and it was amazing. Looks like success when to owners head. He was rude to every customer walking in the door, ignoring or telling off clients. We had a reservation for 6 for my moms bday and I regret choosing this restaurant to celebrate. We did hibachi and they didn't do any of the cool stuff and were rushing people out. We had just gotten our food and she was already asking how we wanted to split check. We had a cake and they just handed it to me with no plates or anything. The food was cooked in such a hurry that the chicken was hard and flavorless and when I asked about saki, they chef told me it's too busy so we were told not to do that. The table across us asked to do the catch challenge of the veggies and the guy just said no and left. Terrible experience owner is horrible.. on top of all this when I sat down the chair had a nail poking out that cut me. I let the waitress know and she said oh and walked away. No offer for a bandaid or are you okay. So I had to scream almost to get her attention for a bandaid as I'm bleeding. And asked for the manager or owner and I watched her walk to him and tell Him and he instead of coming to me and apologizing waived her off and walked away. I will be taking action on this. But don't waste your money. Go to akira or mikado. They deserve business. This owner needs to learn customer service.

Yelp
Me and my fiancé come here all the time. The staff is friendly, the food is always good and the prices are reasonable.

Yelp
Really fun/nice atmosphere with good food! Would come again with friends or family. Food: 4.25 Taste- 4 Presentation- 4.5 Atmosphere/Aesthetic: 4 Service: 3 Price/Value: N/A There are some really neat booths here! Pretty lights too. The spicy shrimp tempura sushi was my favorite. I also tried the regular shrimp tempura (good as well) and avocado rolls (good seaweed on the sushi!) I would say this place is comparable to a lot of the good Japanese places in New York. My only problem with the service was that they were kind of awkward and enforced the "Must be under 12" rule for a 15 year old. I'm 19, order from the kid's menu all the time at a variety of restaurants, and it was my first time facing denial! I gave bumped service up to an average score though because we got our food quick enough and the orders were correct. I put N/A for the price and value because I was not the one paying for the meal. One dinger about the atmosphere though- they played gangnam style way too much. Just a tad annoying.
