"The largest department store in continental Europe, Kaufhaus des Westens (usually abbreviated as simply KaDeWe) is over a century old and a must for any shopper visiting Berlin . After being largely destroyed in World War II, its reopening in 1950 was not only an important shopping moment but a propaganda one too, an embodiment of the prosperity of West Berlin . Regardless of its Cold War significance, the sixth-floor food hall provides an unforgettable culinary experience with a chance to sample the best German and international products."

Wow, this place is crazy....in a good way. Specialized clothing especially if you've won the lottery. It's worth a visit to browse, especially up top where the food court is. You can spend a whole day alone just on the food court floor where you can dine in or browse the pastries and candies. The home/kitchen ware is incredible as in the knives selection. Oh, there's a Moet bar and a caviar bar as well.... $$$$. We settled for a killer Pho restaurant w a nice Reisling and it was awesome, we would go bk just for the pho. It's an easy Spahn outside of Berlin, so take advantage of their public transport....

Out of This Planet: A Must-Visit Berlin Icon! If you’re visiting Berlin and don’t stop at KaDeWe, you’re missing out on one of the most extraordinary shopping and lifestyle experiences in Europe. This isn’t just a department store, it’s a luxurious adventure, a cultural icon, and a sensory playground all in one! From the moment you step inside, you’re transported into a world where elegance meets innovation. The layout is stunning, with beautifully curated departments, upscale boutiques, and high-end designer labels from all over the world. Whether you're into fashion, beauty, homeware, or gourmet food, KaDeWe has it all and then some. But the real magic? The legendary 6th and 7th floors. The Gourmet Food Hall (6th floor) is out of this world. It’s a paradise for food lovers, with everything from truffle cheeses and fresh seafood to rare wines and handcrafted chocolates. You can sip Champagne at the oyster bar or grab a freshly made schnitzel, sushi, or pastries from one of the many gourmet counters. The quality and presentation are unmatched. The Wintergarten Restaurant (7th floor) offers stunning panoramic views of Berlin, the perfect place to unwind with a cappuccino or cocktail after shopping. The natural light and glass roof make it feel like you’re dining in the clouds. Service throughout KaDeWe is top-tier: friendly, multilingual staff who treat every guest like a VIP. Even if you’re just window shopping, the experience is immersive and unforgettable. KaDeWe is more than just retail, it’s a cultural must-see, a place that blends tradition with modern luxury in a way that’s out of this planet. Whether you're a tourist, foodie, fashionista, or simply curious, do not leave Berlin without spending time here.

Google
I had the chance to visit Kaufhaus in Berlin, and it turned out to be a really interesting and enjoyable experience. From the outside, it looks like a typical luxury shopping center with high-end boutiques, but the real gem is hidden on the upper floors. There you’ll find an amazing selection of dessert shops, gourmet food corners, and unique local delicacies. Even if you’re not into shopping for clothes or designer items, this place is absolutely worth a visit. It’s a perfect spot to discover sweet treats, original souvenirs, and enjoy the atmosphere. You can easily spend a few hours exploring and tasting, even if you’re just there for the food and culture. Definitely a must-visit in Berlin.

Google
One of the best shopping malls in Germany. Great architecture and facade of a building, very intricate and sophisticated interiors. Spacious, but could be crowded for obvious reasons. I would recommend to visit it during a week or in the morning on Saturday. Be careful with pastry and cakes. There are so many and delicious as well. You can visit Samsung store in a technology corner and check many other gadgets and products. There are plenty of restaurants and food corners, great selection of meat and fish 🐠

Google
Vast! If you like department stores then I’m sure you’ll be happy. I went for the high end food floor. Great selection of vendors and by looking around I’d say something for everyone’s taste. Also the very top floor offers an affordable buffet style.

Google
KaDeWe is definitely worth a stop if you’re in Berlin. It’s a huge department store with pretty much everything—from luxury brands to off-season discounts tucked away on the upper floors. I mostly went for the food court after hearing so much about it, and it didn’t disappoint. Lots of options, including some great coffee bars and restaurants. The wine and spirits section is also surprisingly extensive. It’s not cheap, but the quality is top notch. Even if you’re not planning to shop, it’s fun to walk around and take it all in. Kind of like a mix between a fancy shopping mall and a gourmet food market.

What’s not to love about the greatest store in the world? I’ve been here many times, and there have been some changes since the pandemic, but it’s still the best store in the world. It’s a great place to buy gifts while traveling, a great place to have some tea, or a great place to have a glass of champagne and rest after sight seeing. I will never not come here while in Berlin, and you should come too!!!

Google
I simply love this place! I dropped by the (in my opinion) best-stocked shopping centre in Europe. The famous KaDeWe is now 115 years old and is located in the centre of Berlin. It is the largest shopping centre in central Europe and is second in size only to Harrods in London. This is my 6th time here and I am still in awe. Brands from all over the world, cuisines from all over the world. Prestige, class, wealth! KaDeWe also has one of the largest food floors in Europe. This is a place that has gathered cultures, smells, colours, styles, fabrics, gadgets and quality literally from everywhere and crammed them into one 60k m2 building. 50k people a day shop here. I recommend it to everyone, maybe not for a Gucci bag, but for a coffee, dessert or oysters!

Yelp
Our favorite shopping center in Berlin. The building is beautiful and every floor so well planned out. The staff is amazing and helpful. They have everything you could think of and of the best quality. They carry all the high-end brands at great value. Our favorite place is the top floor with an upscale food court. We usually stop by at least 4-5 of the stalls. They all have been great and I look forward to trying them all.

Yelp
Kaufhaus des Westerns is sehr groß and reminded us of Bloomingdale's on Lexington Ave (NYC) but in Herald Square proportions. It's huge and an absolute treat shopping here and I haven't even discussed the two food floors on 6 & 7. Wow. The quality of their offerings is impressive and upscale while also somewhat eclectic as well. We also found their prices to be fair and not obnoxious. Service throughout the store, is old style personal and friendly. We were always warmly greeted, in a sincere way. Nice!

Yelp
Now, this review is partially my fault as I visited KaDeWe the Saturday after Black Friday so it was PACKED. Plus as a Minnesotan, my mall standard is a little higher. So I think KaDeWe is somewhere you should definitely visit if you have time during the day on a weekday NOT around the holiday season. But you don't need to go out of your way for it unless you specifically need something from a high end department store. I enjoyed seeing the mall and would like to go back sometime not so hectic.

Yelp
OMG this place was amazing. I've never seen anything like it. We came here to try to have dinner but we waited too late and everything was too crowded. We kind of ran through or I would have gotten more pictures. There's all kinds of restaurants, like something for everyone and it's laid out so cool, it's like a bunch of little restaurants all in one place. We didn't shop here but it looked like you could find everything you need in one place (high-end). I've never seen a "mall/food hall" like this one. Would love to come back and spend some time in here.

Yelp
We had a fun time shopping in the KaDeWe department store. When we got to the top, what we Americans would describe as a "food court" was quite elegant. It's a great place for a mid-afternoon snack, in our case coffee and dessert.
google avatar

Arlene L.

Yelp
High end mall with 7 floors. The 6th floor...what looks like a fine dining area while the 7th floor is the food court for budget-conscious people. Some brand items are cheaper here than in the US. Hard to find Omega Swatch in the US is available here. Hubby got me the Mission to Venus. Yay! Just outside the mall are life-sized hand-painted sculptures of bears hand in hand that promote peace and tolerance.

Yelp
Opened in 1907, it is the second-largest department store in Europe after Harrods in London. It's similar to Bloomingdale's, as in pricy. There are 8 floors, but we mostly came here to dine in the food hall.

Yelp
Germany's equivalent of Harrods and Galeries Lafayette, this large department store is spread over eight floors and is the second largest department store in Europe (after Harrods). Founded in 1907, the store was gutted in World War II but partly reopened in 1950, fully reopened in 1956, and expanded in 1978 and again after (reunification) during 1989-1996. As you might expect, it's focused pretty much upmarket, with the ground floor housing fashion accessory concessions - think designer jewellery, handbags and watches - alongside a huge cosmetics and perfumery department. Notable are the food floors (6th and 7th floors) which, for my money, knock spots off Harrods' equivalent. Ok, so the interior isn't grand, but it's extensive (the size of two soccer pitches according to their PR), and a key feature are the dozens of food counters (6th floor) where you can sit down and eat fresh seafood, cheeses, grills, items from the various delicatessen, and of course sausages - serviced by over 100 chefs and 40 bakers. The Germans clearly have a sweet tooth, as the confectionery area is also substantial: it's famous for the 2m wide model of the Brandenburg Gate - in marzipan (itself a north German specialty). On the eight floor, it is worth seeing the large rooftop "Winter Garden" restaurant with its impressive glass roof. My only gripe is navigation: there are few maps, and the layout, with multiple banks of similar-looking escalators, can be very confusing indeed.

Yelp
Foodies, stop what you're doing and plan a trip to Berlin's KaDeWe right now. I mean it. Go. You owe it to yourself! I visited this famous German department store solely for their famed food hall. I was not disappointed. The food hall rivals the very best in the world (yes, better than the one at Harrods in London). It's sprawling and laid out with a mixture of sit-down restaurants, counter and bar service, takeaway cases, and food department store style shops. I spent a couple of hours noshing on small snacks at several different venues. There's also a fantastic cafeteria on the upper level which is a great place for a hearty and healthy lunch. I almost lost it when I saw that they had fountain Coke and AN ICE MACHINE! It's nearly impossible to get ice in a soda in Europe. All I can say is go here if you love food. It's awesome!

Yelp
KaDeWe is a requisite experience for anyone visiting Berlin. The high end department store in West Berlin is like Harrods of London. And at the top floor, you can get fancy and have champagne and oysters. It'll cost you a bit but it is a lovely experience. And the oysters are expertly shucked.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been to Harrods and in Paris you have seen Galleries Lafayette. Even in Japan the shopping does not compare to KaDe We. It is majestic and filled with all the latest name brands and fashion. The top level is the food area which is opulent and impressive to say the least. Entire rows dedicated to one item. The selection is amazing and very high end. The wine section is worth the trip alone! You won't be disappointed even if you are not a shopper!!
google avatar

Laura P.

Yelp
As an American, this department store was very interesting to me. It is an open concept and almost looks like the brands that are there have their own shops. It is a luxury department store like Harrods in London. They have desserts and food on the top floor, which was lovely and a nice restaurant. The prices of the items include the vat and you are able to get the vat form from the retailers to get your taxes back.

Yelp
Trying on shoes at Bally man, at KaDeWe Berlin, since one hour... 6 salespeople gathered at Todd's talking, joking, looking at people who try shoes on, try to find better sizes, range....No HELP!!!! Nothing!! Why get these people paid? For what??? Am impressed about bad management!
google avatar

Jen W.

Yelp
This is the craziest, most amazing department store/food hall I have ever seen. Forget the shopping, go straight to the food! The food is located on the top 2 floors. The very top consists of somewhat of a buffet. Grab a tray, maybe a roller cart, pick out what you'd like, and pay for your items at the register. They have so many options including alcohol and desserts. It's so hard not to grab one of everything. Take the escalator down and you'll hit the small restaurants. We ended up going to a spot that specialized in schnitzel. Definitely wasn't disappointed. The food was fantastic. One tip? Be patient. This isn't a grab and go. After you eat, check out the dessert spots also...and maybe do some shopping to walk off the calories. Haha. This is a must stop if you're in Berlin.

Yelp
Huge department store with a floor for everything: food, clothing, homewares, furniture, souvenirs, and it even has a restaurant on the top floor. The food hall is a whole floor and has a bunch of stalls with different kinds of cuisines as well as sections to buy pastries, baked goods, a deli, etc.
google avatar

Ramona G.

Yelp
Nice high-end shopping mall. Very similar to Bloomindale's in America. A lot of expensive clothing, cosmetics, shoes etc. They even have an international market located here where they sell American Quaker Oatmeal for 16 euros! OMG! What a ripoff! The place is super gorgeous though and very popular in Berlin. You must visit this place if you're a shopaholic!

Stephenie G.

Yelp
HUGE department store with EVERYTHING. Start on ground 1 with a high fashion runway of haute designers and cosmetics, each packed in their own red carpet, velvet rope secure shoppe. Jump to the top floor for live musicians, foods of the world, bakeries and liquor bars including champagne bars of Moet, Cliquot and more! Buy wine, and have dinner! Bring home gourmet foods and epicurean delights! The middle floors ate packed with everything! Housewares, shows, knives, furniture and more!!

Yelp
This is the Bloomingdale's of Berlin. Where all the tourists come to shop; where the rich locals go to drop some euros. Basically, my unfancy self can't afford anything in this fancy store. Except maybe something from the food hall on the 7th Floor. I will happily drop some hard earned cash on hand dipped chocolates. Sip on some fine champagne. (they have Veuve as their standard and a vintage Laurent Perrier -- don't ask how much was per glass; I had a cheap prosecco from Italia) Pair your expensive bubbles with even more expensive caviar. For those who are starving, (because when you shop, you burn calories) KaDeWe has a very enticing prepared hot foods section and also a seafood stall where you can purchase everything your little heart desires. Just swipe your credit card. Since we were on a budget (bf saved the euros to buy me MK shoes!) we shared the oh-my-gawd strawberry shortcake while sitting next to the window overlooking the streets below. Us: "look at those poor humans! can't even afford to step into KaDeWe!" * bahahaha!! * Cheers to our 10 minute fantasy.

Yelp
Wow, this place is big and the best way to describe it is its Germany's version of Harrods. On the top floor there's a huge food hall where you can eat and buy other little tasty treats. Also if you're looking for a food souvenir this is a good place to check out too. On the street level floor you'll find the designer shops its like being on 5th Ave. in NYC or Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills on this floor with well known designer duds. On the other floors you'll basically find a wide assortment of items that you'd see at a typical department store. Housewares, womens, mens, and kids clothing, shoes etc. Its quite an experience that if you have the money and the willingness to spend a few hours here its an experience.
google avatar

Irene H.

Yelp
If you want to take advantage of the current USD/euro exchange rate, you have to stop in. It's laid out like a typical department store. Sadly, everything I was looking for was not in stock. I left emptyhanded but did like absorbing the sights. Definitely give the top food floor a whirl. We had reservations elsewhere so didn't stay, but if you need to buy food gifts, there is a ton of that here.
google avatar

Sommer G.

Yelp
The best market/mall in Berlin! I have a couple delicious meals here! From sushi to jamon! Everything was fresh and delicious! The shrimp tempura was still warm and crispy (how it should be!) and the fresh crab really took it to the next level! @sumosan_kadewe_berlin is a great edition to the amazing @KaDeWe_berlin

Yelp
The Harrods of Berlin. A gorgeous department store with an extensive food floor. Cheeses and breads and fish and chocolates and everything good. And restaurants. And then, of course, there are floors for men's and women's departments and more. If you have the time, it's a fun place to explore (and buy cheese)!
google avatar

Yelp
Hands down one of the worst shopping experiences ever. One of the worst in Berlin for sure. Just picture a crowded maze full of old people browsing b-list products and lining up in queues 20 deep just to get the latest flavor of Nescafé ... #sad The food court at the top is an absolute disaster. I remember this place from the 90s and literally nothing had been modernized for the past 20 years. You can get overpriced sea food here or pay €13 for a baked potato that is literally just nuked in the microwave with half a stick of butter on it... Good, I guess? At any rate if you're under 55 I would recommend shopping online like modern people or going to Bikini Berlin across the street which also has much much better food.
google avatar

Sarah T.

Yelp
I had such a high expectation coming to kadewe food court after hving heard all those excited comments about this place. They do have a variety of food and also pretty good quality but the price tag is pretty outrageous. Taste-wise just fine :(
google avatar

Kenny N.

Yelp
This is specifically about the chocolate shop on the 6th floor at KaDaWe. The selection is vast, prices are more than fair and the service is very good. It is a great day when I can find Michel Cluizel, Teuscher and German chocolatiers such as Lauenstein in the same shop. A couple hundred € and a half an hour and I was able to stock my supply and get gifts for my chocolate appreciating friends. The other plus is they have excellent Omega and Rolex boutiques on the first floor.
google avatar

Jesse G.

Yelp
We have been to KaDeWe for the Christmas season for the last 30+ years. Especially for the Christmas decorations, they were awesome! This year all but disappointing! Now we don't have a reason to come here at all. It might me cool for rich Russians and other tourists, but for the normal Berliners FORGET IT!!
google avatar

Alexandra G.

Yelp
I am giving three stars to the store, and 5 to the upper floors that have food. This is a traditional shopping mall in several levels like I have seen in England, USA, Sweden etc. Saw nice stuff, but it was ridiculously pricey. The giant sneaker section gets an extra shout-out, but I think it might have been the mens section. So head there if you love sneakers. Food: The 6th floor is like a deli with counters where you walk up and they make what you want on the spot. Each place has seating and sometimes you could sit at the bar. It was appealing and looked fresh and tasted delicious and seemed decently priced. They also have champaigne, prosecco etc. I would go back there as it feels like a little oasis in the bustling city.

Yelp
Please. Don't even insult this place by comparing it with Bloomindale's. Bloomys is great, but it's a small, crumb-sized shadow in the presence of the great KaDeWe. Unless you enjoy window shopping, skip all the shopping floors, because, seriously, can you afford Hermes and Prada? You can? Okay, great; buy me a Rolex. Le Buffet, on the top floor, boasts a giant semi-circular window and a fantastic variety of food and drink. You choose your items, and then pay at the end, per dish. It ain't cheap, but it's really, really good. Chanterelles were in season and their creamed mushroom sauce was so rich, creamy and delicious, I wanted to pour it all over myself. The floor below is the gourmet foods floor. I was advised to sit at the oyster bar and order a few raws and a glass of champagne. It's certainly a classy way to start the morning! Check out the oyster shucker - it's customer made just for KaDeWe. Next, make your rounds to plan your own feast. You can buy meats, cheeses, seafood, desserts, teas, candy, etc. There's a small pastry bar that makes a beautiful looking hot cocoa topped with heaps of fresh whipped cream. You'll want to get that gorgeous almond croissant to accompany it.
google avatar

Abbie O.

Yelp
This is an extremely high-end mall with several department stores and a Budweiser tasting room. After a day of shopping, do some people-watching and treat yourself to a beer and a brat.

Yelp
Coming from Las Vegas, there isn't a shortage of luxury malls with designer shops; however, what Vegas doesn't have is a shopping center with a fancy grocery store. That reason alone is why I enjoy shopping at KaDeWe. Forget Gucci bags and Omega watches. Give me chocolate shaped like Smart Cars and a lobster to go! The top floor is dedicated to just food. There, you'll find sections for chocolate (yes, a chocolate section!), coffee and teas, seafood, vegetables and fruits, and DESSERTS! Furthermore, there's also several restaurants and food stations on the same level. What separates this specialty grocery store from others is the uniqueness of items. Chocolate *said in Sloth voice*: No Baby Ruth's here. Chocolates aren't the common grab-and-go variety that you find near the grocery check-out aisle. In addition to the plain milk, white, and dark chocolates, flavors like white chocolate with coconut and curry are examples of what you may find. Coffee and Teas: KaDeWe's coffee and teas aren't the kind that can be found at a chain coffee shop. Rather, there are experimental flavors, such as strawberry flavored coffee. You can also have a cup of joe at the coffee bar (makes sense that they would have one there). Desserts: They're appealing to the eyes, but in the past I've been disappointed. I bought a slice of Sachertorte that was unfortunately very dry. On the other hand, that's not to say I wouldn't return to try the other pastries and cakes. Restaurants: There are both restaurants and food stations the serve different cuisines. One that I would recommend trying is the crepe station -- one of the more budget friendly choices -- where you can order savory and sweet crepes. Aside from food, I did visit the other levels, but only briefly. The one level that did appeal to me was the bookshop/stationery and toys level that has a small Sanrio section that was severely lacking in the variety of characters and products. But eh, that's just me being picky. If you're looking for souvenirs to bring home, KaDeWe is a good place to visit. Prices can be steep depending on what you buy, but for the most part there's something for everyone.
google avatar

Yelp
Really expensive store with subpar customer service. For a store in this price range, I expect better service. Employees are often chatting with each other ignoring when you try to ask to see a product. I asked for the bathroom, on employee ignored me, had to find another who only said "it's over there" without pointing to where "over there" is. We are spoiled in the States with customer service - it seems to be the norm here in Berlin but when a store carries such high end brands and charges exuberant prices for all their products, you'd think they'd offer better service. The same bread that costs 15 cents in all other stores, costs 50 cents here, just consider the price difference. As for the store, it has multiple levels from clothing to kitchenware. The top two levels are restaurants and mini gourmet stations selling food. You can find good food here and great desserts but be prepared to pay KaDeWe prices.

Yelp
I was like a kid in a candy store! I didn't really understand why people raved about this mall. Afterall, there are plenty of great malls in the U.S., so what makes this mall so amazing? The 6th Floor. Well, the 7th floor is their "food court." It's hardly a food court because that just sounds so pedestrian. They serve fresh seafood, delicious salads and artfully designed desserts. You can opt for Asian cuisine or authentic and hearty German food or choose from their fresh salad bar. There's even an array of fresh juices to choose from. So 30 euros later, I had a really full plate of food. Now, the 6th floor. Wow. It's just a luxury foodie's dream come true! Gourmet cheeses, artfully decorated cakes, pastries, breads, caviar, alcohol, expensive chocolates, beautifully packaged gift baskets, and so much more. I could've wandered through here for hours and would have no concept of time. It's just amazing and very worth a visit. And of course, if you're looking for any kind of luxury goods (i.e. Chanel, Gucci, Burberry, etc.), you'll find them here too.

Yelp
KaDeWe is a giant, upscale department store. After passing by multiple stores that were far too expensive for my budget, I made a beeline for the 5th floor. The 5th floor is definitely the best floor of the department store as it is the floor for food. There are so many options for food, and I went straight for the bakery. After looking at all the delicious cakes, I decided on a berliner. I got the plum filled berliner, and it was the best one I had in Berlin. It was soft and fluffy, and it was full of filling. It was more expensive than the other berliners I've had at €1.90, but that was expected considering the place I was in. It was also well worth the price. Definitely the best berliner in Berlin!

Yelp
Great burger At the food hall at KADEWE dept store! It is on the topfloor of the store and is a little burger bar! I tried the season's special which was made with a buffalo meat patty, roasted peanuts, sweet potato salad and BBQ truffled sauce! It was really exotic and tasty, and the truffle tasted strong, which I loved! I would definitely come back but would order the classic one with the sweet potato chips, it looked amazing! Its a bit pricey but worth it, and it's really well served(i coudn't finish mine). I was only disappointed by the fact that they only had one type of beer! Overall it was a good experience and nice meal!

Yelp
You need to come here for two reasons: shopping (clothing, homeware etc) and the 6th floor with food everywhere. My partner wanted me to come here to check it out. I didn't understand the hype...until I went to the 6th floor. It was amazing. I just....wow. If you love food as much as I do, you'll be in heaven. There's all types of food from seafood cooked different ways to pasta to caviar to steak to breads to chocolates to everything. Come with a very hungry stomach and gorge. It was so cruel to bring me here so close to dinner and I wasn't able to try anything or else risk losing my appetite for dinner. THE TORTURE! I ogled everything. We also went to the homewares floor and bought two amazing can openers. German made, awesome can openers that don't leave sharp edges. Even though this is a department store, it wasn't overpriced. We price checked the can openers and it's the same price on their website.

Yelp
I have heard so many things from Kadewe from friends or on news, so I was really looking forward to visit it. Eventually I did come and it really disappointed me. Yes, it might be probably the biggest department store in Europe, but there is no personality of this place. The building outside it actually looks nice, but there are nothing really special inside. I have seen many department stores just like this one, since I heard so much nice thing about it, let's say I expected at least they will have their own style to stand for their name. It was simply too commercial and lacking their own uniqueness. I honestly think the interior design from Bikini Berlin, Mall of Berlin and Boulevard Berlin are much better than here, very clear concept and identical. What I do like here, they always have really good shopwindow designs, season to season, theme to theme, very creative and elegant. Pity, didn't see this kind of style inside. They do have many different big brands inside, but most of them are very pricy. The clerks here are ok, but not really friendly. Honestly, I think this place is totally overrated, it didn't impress me at all. I heard and read many positive things about the Food Court here, although I already visited there couple time, I haven't it really got the chance to try it out yet. I will visit again just for this. But as the department store I could only rated two stars on it, and mainly just because of the shopwindow .

Yelp
This shop is incredible!!! It's spread over six floors (the seventh is a restaurant) and the choice here is just immense. It's more like Harrods and would definitely put BTs or Arnotts in Dublin to shame. The amount of choice in brands here is fantastic. That's before you get to the food court on the sixth floor. Here is the jewel for me as its where you can choose from Veuve Clicquot & Moet champagne bars, coffee stands and tea stands (although that's probably an injustice to call them that!) and then the food!!! OMG all the different meats, cheeses, chocolate, condiments etc on that floor. I'd say you could spend a week on that floor and not sample everything. You can get here easily by bus or u bahn and it should definitely be on your must do list in Berlin!

Yelp
Restaurants way over priced, the rest are ok. Location is great and many things to do around the place.

Yelp
KaDeWe has it all. Even Scotch for EUR23,000. The ceilings are a bit low for my taste. And I am not impressed with their tortilla chip/salsa selection. You can take the boy out of So Cal, but you can't take So Cal out of the boy. My wife loves to browse here and there is 3G signal here so I survive. And the food court upstairs is a good place to graze. 5 stars...if I didn't have to go.

Yelp
I'm not a fan of shopping too much but I have to say this mall would be one of the best that I have seen.. It offers 7 floors of shopping from high end stores to kids department! All first 5 floors are clothing and goods but when you reach to 6th floor, this is where it gets more interesting..gourmet food court in a shopping mall? And yes I'm talking about gourmet food from sushi bars to lobster and from pastry to cheese boutiques. And it's very affordable as far as the pricing goes! Taste wise excellent and top of the line fresh seafood.. Everything is prepared in front of you.. So many people eating here mostly tourists probably and yet the service is great, fast and friendly! Wine beer anything you can imagine is here! If you go to Berlin this mall is a must see and experience the food court on 6th floor! 7th floor is a buffet and you can also choose huge variety of food selection..we ate here 3 times out of 7 days lol..KaDeWe!

Yelp
Great luxury shopping if you're into that sorta thing. The highlight is the top floor food hall: part grocer, part specialty foods purveyor, part bar/tavern, part party catering spot... you can get canapés for your shindig, visit the veggie stand, butcher or fishmonger for fresh groceries, buy special regional food (there's a US food section, Mexican, Japanese etc), or grab lunch or dinner at one of the bars/restaurants. There's a burger joint and a new BBQ place up there. I had champagne and canapés one evening. I have 4 stars because they other floors are all luxury goods but that's not what I came for! It is a really nice building near Wittenbergplatz U-bahn.

Yelp
I highly recommend a visit to this place if you have never gone to a full-on luxury store with high-end clothing, nice food courts, groceries, and a large selection of alcohol/pre-packed items. Legit, this place is very cool and I could have spent hours in there if I had the time. I was most impressed by the alcohol selection which had majority of more obscure/hard to find liquors. Aside from that, this place also has an amazing food/grocery/bakery/everything food related on the sixth floor (pretty similar to Eataly in NYC but much more expansive as it has more that Italian food.) I also very much enjoyed the food court on the 7th floor and wasn't expensive as expected compared to the rest of the mall. The seating area also has nice seats and if you get a seat by the window it's one of the taller buildings in the area so you can see everything.

Yelp
The Kadewe has everything you need but it is expensive. The employees were really nice though, and talking to them was interesting because they told me and my tourist friends about Berlin. Specifically a shoutout to the guy at the Balenciaga counter who was cool and nice. I think they had a free bathroom which saved us and they even had a little fancy grocery store.

Yelp
Not tasty food actually on 7 floor, and most expensive seafood ever had, 10 shrimps for 27 euro, "that's Germany seafood " , the cashier answered.

Yelp
Nasty set-up. Not quite on a par as the fabulous Saks, Macey's, Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, Fortnams, Lafayette, etc. Naff little concessions that have got nothing to do with the once rather grand dept. store. Couldn't spend my money here if I wanted too. Frankly, there is nothing worth buying. It is all rather vulgar, tacky and shiny, though just right for upstart council-estate princesses and would be pimps in their souped-up BMW's reeking of Eau de Aldi, sporting large gold-plated jewelery.

Yelp
Berlin oldest and most well-known department store. I am not generally big on shopping, but if you're looking for luxury or high-end shopping this is the place to be. The Gourmet floor/foodcourt has very interesting offerings as well. Not to be missed

Yelp
Decided to stop by Berlin after visiting Paris. A few hours of solo time was given; I was excited but didn't know where to go. I wanted to eat, and I wanted to eat. My meal had to be fresh and tasty, but most importantly, it had to be quick since I had only a little less two hours of my precious solo time. Several options were suggested by the concierge. Eeny, meeny, miny, moe... I was directed to go to KaDeWe. KaDeWe reminded me of Saks in NY, Harrods in London, or maybe Mitsukoshi in Tokyo. Struggling with my own temptation to shop and browse around in this huge department store, I managed myself to go straightly to the food court. As soon as getting out of the elevator, I was like wow.. No, uh uh, like WOW!! There were so many delis, meat, fish, sweets, and everything. I walked to one of the small counters that had pretty displays of fish plates, and sat down on a tall barstool. As I saw some lovely champagne bottles, I asked for a glass of Pommery and Moët along with a fish plate. The fish was very fresh. Loved the texture which you can only feel from fresh fish. People who work behind the counter were friendly but very polite. They spoke English and told me where I should go and see. I finished my meal and said thank you and left the counter. It was one unforgettable quick meal with quality. The short conversation with the workers made it even more pleasant. I even had enough time to pick out some ties and scarves which I found pretty high quality, that made me, of course, very happy. I will give myself a few days, not a few hours to explore the whole building next time. And I won't just stop by; I will make it as a destination. I can't wait. 5 stars. Danke schön.

Yelp
This is more of a spectacle than a store. I think it's fun to bring visitors here because it's so enormous. In addition to luxury goods, you can find interesting food and souvenirs. It's not very stroller friendly, but I guess, why should it be.
