Do NOT miss this place! in the very center of Växjö, perfect if you miss your train or your tired of the rain . The lunch is delicious and you get a lovely soup as a starter and me who was in a hurry got a nice take away the with crunchy cookies , all included in the lunch (also a range of local beers) So remember cafe de luxe instead of being bored on the train station:)

A terrific lunch and evening restaurant, that also transform to nightclubs some nights with great indie themed music and some times live gigs. The food is above average, sometimes amazing. The atmosphere is homey, inviting and warm. Definitely worth a visit.

Love the atmosphere of this place. The food was delicious too. We went for happy hour and they had good options and prices. It's a very unique place. I would recommend to try it.

A very unique vintage atmosphere and interior. Friendly staff. A bit overpriced though.

I tried it for dinner and a beer with local colleagues who chose this restaurant. There is a very pleasant atmosphere here, the interior is designed in a retro style. There is a nice and attentive (but not intrusive) service. On recommendation, I tried „Smörstekt Bolmengös, krondillshollandaise, kantareller, fänkål, potatis“, said to be a Swedish specialty. I wouldn't have thought to make fish with mushrooms and creamy sauce at home, but it was very good, definitely 5/5! The price (almost SEK 300) seems higher to me, but it was worth it for the food.

Go there, meet with local swedish, super nice people, open and teaching some basics. To the bar: say something like "Two stour Stark tak" you get two beers cheap for the land then enjoy the dancefloor. Best place in town. Tak all the nice persons we met

Nice and cosy place, Had the special for the day. Snitzel that was very nice. A bit unusual to get the snitzel already cut on the plate but it was a nice lunch for 135:-

Nice and cozy. Chill vibe, no noise. Friendly staff. Food is still hot when served and good taste. Not too much option for dinks. Affordable price.

Yelp
When having a lunch in Växjö, I can strongly recommend Kafe de Luxe at Sandgärdsgatan, which is parallel to Storgatan (main street) in this medium large town in the south of Sweden. We came here a Sunday and saw the brunch-menu outside and decided to go in and see what else they could offer. The place is a really cute hipster/retro joint with funny details and furnitures. You just have to love the interior design! However, the menu was very slim. They could only offer the brunch buffé, that by the look of it, was finished, as plates were empty and food was a big mess. We refrained from this a went for their Tarte Flambée (a pizza-like) dish. We were told that they don't sell any light product, which surprised all of us but we decided that it was just a "hipster-kinda-weird-go-ecological-thang" As there were the 3 of us visiting "Luxan"this day we had one Flambée each. One with mussels and tomato, one with bacon and mushrooms and the third with spinach and olives. OMG-they were soooo good!!!! Especially the one with bacon and mushrooms. One star down because of the slim menu to choose from.

Yelp
This is one of my most favorite restaurants in town. The ambiance is super cozy and eclectic. You can almost always count on the food being great....but the service is very hit or miss during nighttime hours. I have *MANY* times waited for 20-30 minutes before ever having a drink order taken. And then when going to the bar to order, they seem to get quite irritated. Their service is sub-par at best but the food can make up for it if you have plenty of time to wait for it. Lunch may be the best time to go. The service is very fast and the food, as usual, is great!

Yelp
Really good food! Great atmosphere, looks like something out of the 60's! I had the lamb burger with fries, and I must say some of the best fries I have had in Europe!
