Kafe Koala General Store

Picked up a latte and a hot chocolate before going on the gray river road. The barista was friendly & a great coffee artist. He had a lot of cool stories to share & he even made me a koala on my latte since I was very excited to see them in the morning. Grab a bite or a drink before heading out to see koalas in the wild. There are plenty in the area - just have to keep an eye out. The hot chocolate was excellent - just like the barista proclaimed to make the best one in the world ! 😀

While traveling along the Great Ocean Road, we made a stop at Kafe Koala to see the koalas. You can also spot kangaroos and wallabies. We enjoyed some coffee and found delicious snacks. Outside the cafe, we encountered more parrots than I've ever seen in my life—they even landed on our car and on our heads! Highly recommend stopping by for a unique visit.

For an outdoor seating authentic, super friendly and very helpful staff cafe with the added bonus of nearby Koalas - I would most definitely recommend! Make this cafe part of your journey. They serve really good sweet and savoury snacks, hot pies and croissants. I had the ham and cheese croissant with added roasted Mediterranean veg! Served hot - So good! The resident parrots are a cheeky delight and happily perch on your shoulder.... Because they're after your food!! If this bothers you, have your food covered while walking to the car or eat inside. If you don't have food in you they're not interested in you. Cute soft toys and souvenirs for sale. I bought a light weight soft Hoodie $65. We saw a koala on our first visit(sleeping way way up in the tree) - take your telephoto lens'! The cafe will also lend you binoculars. The owner gave us directions to see kangaroos and Koalas a plenty. - A fascinating drive through incredible trees up a country park road/track (loose rubble and bendy road) and a walk. We saw 5 wallabies and 2 koalas within 3mins of driving! The toilets are not 5 star, but there are toilets! When you're driving the Great Coastal Road, these are most welcome! 😁 They are Unisex individual outdoor units with proper flushing toilets, hot/cold water, soap. There are sharps boxes provided for those needing to dispose of medical needles (diabetic/allergy pens etc). A sensible humanistic service. Not sure about disabled toilets. Enjoy

The staff are very nice and the coffee is great with 2 shots ❤️ it can get really busy but the staff are amazing with keeping up with it all ! The food is tasty and it's adorable the parots come up close to you. The other tourists were having a absolute ball taking photos with them. There is a lovely walk nearby.

This place you will get a lot of recreation items along with the beautiful parrots sitting on your hands and all over you if you have something to feed they will enjoy that as well

Great little stop on the GOR. Food is tasty and fresh and the owners are friendly and knowledgeable on the area. We stayed at the caravan park and the store was so convenient

Nice food, good prices and, even better - lots of souvenirs.

Excellent little cafe, wildlife plentiful, koala in trees near car park, parrots and cockatoos come right up to the tables , will climb on you if you let them.
