I visited after seeing Google reviews. The coffee and desserts were delicious, and the view from the window was beautiful and pleasant. The staff were also friendly.

Coffee is great, its very hard to find good specialty coffee in Austria or europe in general so this was really good. The staff is also friendly. The interior was cozy and ok, not my favorite.

Really good coffee shop in the City. The decoration and vibe is very classic but yet they’re serving up some really top quality modern third wave coffees. Nice bean selection on the flat white!

Lovely cafe for coffee enthusiasts. Out of the way of the tourist area but central enough to be pleasantly busy. The pastries were very nice, fresh and the coffee is extremely good. Plus points for having oat milk and most staff seemed to speak English which is helpful if you don’t speak Austrian. ( so good we went twice in our 4 day stay)

Such a cute coffee shop! The vibes are good inside and outside. Outside the shop you can see people walking along the Salzach river. Staff were friendly and kind, and the coffee was superb. (For the weary traveler they also have a nice water fountain where you can water with your coffee.)

Delicious mocha coffee, frothy as can be, strong and divine, enjoyed in their little bohemian corner. A romantic spot for relaxing with a book and people-watching. 5 stars!!!

Pretty good coffee options and great service. I got their black coffee and loved that I had options to choose from. It seems they have rotating flavors, so that's fun! The coffee was bold and flavorful. I typically prefer my coffee without milk, and boy was it delicious. Didn't try their desserts, but they looked tasty.

What a gem! I found this place pretty last minute and was worried they wouldn't serve us since it was ~20mins before closing, but they were so nice! There were a handful of tables still hanging out as well and they didn't rush anyone to leave. This place has high quality coffee and their staff is very knowledgeable. We were only planning on getting the einspanner but ended up getting a drip as well. Both were very good. It's also a block away from all the peak toursity things so that is another plus! :) Would highly recommend

If you're looking for high quality coffee, this is the place to go, free from the tourists in Old Town. I enjoyed a cappuccino on multiple occasions and my husband enjoyed his hand filtered coffee. The barista was very friendly and knowledgable.

I was looking for a good coffee shop in Salzburg where I could sit in a comfortable chair, enjoy a delicious coffee and read a book. I was happy to discover Kaffee Alchemie early in my Salzburg stay as it became a routine stop on my daily adventures. The barista's coffee recommendations were "spot-on" as were the assortment of baked goods. I'd go back to Salzburg just to visit Kaffee Alchemie again.

The owner here knows a lot of coffee and uses some of the best beans in Europe. The hand brew coffee is really good here and the pastries are amazing as well.

If you're looking for a coffee spot in Salzburg that blows every other coffee spot out of the water when it comes to quality and experience, I would check out Kaffee Alchemie. You will not be disappointed. The storefront is a bit inconspicuous and not nestled within the depths of the old town or city. Once you enter, you a unique coffee bar feel. The menu provides a decent variety, but I would definitely try the Kahncen Kaffee which is the filtered coffee. You will get to choose your bean. The process takes a bit of time, but its definitely worth it. I believe that during temperate days they have outside tables and benches that are built into the exterior wall the store where you can enjoy your coffee with a cigarette if that is your pleasure. The store also serves some pastries, but they also serve "seasonal" beans and coffee brewing gear and equipment. Overall a very neat place and a must for coffee drinkers. My friends and I stopped in while we were in Salzburg for the day-- seriously, one of the best coffee shops we went to while traveling through Germany/Austria/Switzerland. They were very knowledgeable in the coffee industry and the staff was super accommodating! A must visit for every coffee lover

This is the best coffee in Salzburg. They offer a variety of brewing methods, like pourover or aeropress. I had the Kenya coffee which was delightful. Not too sweet or acidic. My wife has the panama which was a bit more acidic. Atmosphere is delightful, but very small. Wifi is free but this is not an Internet cafe. They don't have the space. In fact the password is literally "25_minutes_surfing_only" or something like that. Ask when you get there. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. We've seen a lot of coffee shops here that are all pretty much the same pedestrian variety. This is the only coffee I would actually recommend. Still looking for a good bakery here. Seriously, they all kind of suck compared to the bakeries in Zürich.

This is a very small, cute coffee house. It has the feel of sitting in someones kitchen as there are only 5 or 6 places to sit and the place is full of coffee related articles. The coffee was great here too and the cakes and desserts looked divine. All the crockery is slightly different and it really feels like a family run coffee house. The only downside is that there is no toilet so after one or two cups you need to get moving.

Fabulous. Best coffee of our entire trip through Austria and Germany. Staff is clearly super passionate about coffee, great stuff here. Returned twice during our stay in Salzburg, spent a lovely several hours lingering and reading in the cozy nook, watching horse-drawn carriages go by along the river.

Not a huge selection of baked goods, but what we had was fine. The coffee was absolutely fantastic though! If you like good coffee, this is worth a visit.

Cutest place but only 8 seats, so if you don't mind standing that place definitely worth a visit. Coffee was great and pastries were delicious

It's interesting to be in a city center and be challenged with finding coffee. In good ole 'merica you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a coffee shop. Also, interesting that there aren't many reviews on Yelp. Anyhow, small place pretty close to the city center in the old part of town. They have a bunch of different types of coffee drinks I had a flat white that was very good. They also had some pastries but I didn't have any.

Excellent coffee. I had a flat white and whilst stronger than other flat whites I've had in Australia, the quality of the coffee was excellent. Staff were super friendly and funny too. Great spot to spend some time out of the cold on an afternoon in Salzburg.

I am a coffee snob and this is the best coffee I've had in all of Germany or Austria on my 10 day trip to the region. Kaffee Alchemie takes their coffee seriously and offers more than just a simple Illy espresso like most shops I stumbled upon. This one nails it and you must try their pour overs. Also really enjoyed the homemade granola bar I had here. Exceptional quality. I will definitely be back.

Excellent coffee, very competent baristas and good cakes! Definitely one of the best cafes in the old town. Pick a seat by the window and watch people passing by :) And as you may have read in other reviews, they've got no toilet, but hey - that's fine, as long as you are not staying there the whole day.

I've had coffee all over the world and this is one of the best latte's I've ever had. It's small, quaint. Not a ton of sitting room or food options, but tremendous coffee!

This was my favorite coffee house in Salzburg, where I just spent six weeks. I happened upon it only because my regular Salzburg coffee house was closed one day. There it was, right on my way so I entered begrudgingly and went back every single day for the rest of my trip. Inside, it is lovely and the coffee (I drink espresso drinks) is downright spectacular. This is coffee for those, like me, who are very particular about their coffee. And they serve it in a beautiful gold cup.
