This place is an insider tip - incidentally discovered 👌🏼 Delicious Austrian home made food like "Käsekrainer" sausage and cakes - reasonably priced ! Best coffee in town - we can tell as coming from Vienna, the hometown of "Kaffeehaus"- culture 😉 Try the beer if you're not into coffee 🍻

This place is amazing! Went there with an open mind without knowing for sure what I wanted. The food is flavor wise delicious and the beer offers a great combination and nice to have. The dessert was delicious and great to share too. Menu is vast with a lot of options, employees were super nice, even though I was speaking Portuguese and went with someone not Portuguese they were patient with her and always gave her a chance to try and order in Portuguese, being very kind and receptive. The environment and atmosphere was great for early afternoon, super cozy and with great decoration. I didn’t want to leave at all

I went there a few times it's always very good. Great beer and great food. The quality for the price is very good, the size of the dishes is also nice, especially the desserts. One of my favorite restaurants in Lisbon

The portions are large, everything was very tasty. They packed up what we couldn't eat and we took it home. 😂❤️

Google
Amazing food and excellent service! We had the fried chicken breast strips with a mixed salad, fried pork with mixed salad and pasta, and cheesecake. The portions were generous, and everything was absolutely delicious. I also loved the casual, vintage coffee house vibe. Highly recommended!

Nice stop in Lisbon, although not traditional the atmosphere is so clean and cozy. Food is good and prices fair. Liked it, maybe before or later you can go the the museum of contemporary art right next to it.

I was craving some good Schnitzel and I couldn’t be happier. The food was great, both the main plates and desserts we picked, it had a taste of home. The service was quick and the staff explained the difference between the plates. Be aware that the portions are huge, I had a half portion and I couldn’t finish it! Definitely worth it!

Yelp
First meal in Lisbon and was very well worth the travel!! This Austrian brunch place is located walking distance from the main area of Lisbon near the Praca do Comercio and was easy to walk to (slight uphills and stairs). We ordered the Bernerwurst (Vienna sausage with cheese inside, bacon, mustard and potato wedges) and also the Currywurst (ordered as a 100% beef sausage with homemade curry sauce and potato wedges). Each portion was very large and filling- very worth the cost of 9 euros each. I also tried the Verkehrter (latte macchiato) here and it was one of the best macchiatos I've ever had!! We saw a lot of others ordering just coffee and taking in the city air sitting outside.

Yelp
What they call tuna toast Americans would call a tuna Panini. Food and service were both great. The bratwurst was a normal bratwurst, but the sauerkraut taste a lot like cooked onion, which was kind of weird.

Yelp
I'm not going to mark them down due to their service - it's not fair to the owner / operator - however - customer service needs to greatly be improved , one thing that can be difficult to teach a business or a worker is empathy - the ambiance is amazing with tables located both inside and outside - great variety of food items are on the menu with a range of selections - once they learn to empathize with their guests and stick with integrity each and every day , this restaurant with excel in all directions

Yelp
Such an amazing establishment with excellent coffee and staples of German cuisine that just hit the spot. I wish there were more spots like this around the world.

Yelp
Great friendly service, in a nice cozy square. Tasty, inexpensive breakfasts and good cappuccino.

Yelp
Best German food we've had in a long time. Delicious bratwurst with sauerkraut, schnitzel with potato salad. Close to our hotel and we'll be back! Highly recommend!

Yelp
This place is a gem in Portugal! Better fried chicken than crispy mafia! My wife loved the goat cheese salad! We ate here three times during our ten day Portugal trip. The service was perfect also! Please try this place you won't be disappointed. It's better to sit outside.

Yelp
If only there was a rating worse than 1 star. Beware the racist young male waiter. My wife (Chinese) and I (white) sat down and made eye contact with waiter. He served a number of white couples and groups that sat after us while ignoring us for around 15 minutes. My wife went inside to get menus from a friendly female waitress and sat back down. After being ignored for another 10 or so minutes we gave up and left. Before we even reached the restaurant next door there was a white couple in our seats being served by the male waiter. Really?!

Yelp
This place hides in a quiet corner away from all the fancy shop and crazy tourists, we were visiting MNAC (http://www.museuartecontemporanea.pt/pt); and need a break between 2 MNAC buildings ... and very lucky to have a yummy lunch break. I eyed on the Lintzertorte then decided on Currywurst ... yum yum ... the portion was bigger than expected. Lucky to have M's help to make it to dessert

Yelp
We had the wiener schnitzel and the chicken breast salad. The door is great and all, but the service isn't all that friendly and a bit slow even. The food was good. Not great, but good. The salad croutons were all soggy form a load of diced tomatoes, but the chicken was juicy and full of flavour. The wiener schnitzel was a bit dry, though somewhat above average. We've had both better and worse. All in all, this is a great big "Meh...". If you're going here, at least get a seat outside for some people watching.

Yelp
In Portugal there's few places like this: cosy, great and cute food, and where we can even share tables! Staff are very nice and it's usually crowded. Prices are not the cheapest but are ok for variaty and quality and its a type of austrian coffeeshop, where owner is austriac. There's even stalk where kids can write on tables and everyone is very friendly. Good hot chocolate (with imported chocolate stick to put on the milk!) and good cakes. Perfect for winter or to try something different.

Yelp
Love it. The meals I've had here so far were delicious (the portions are big!) and the desserts are to die for. Try the Sachertorte if you like chocolate, but really, all the pies and cakes are yummy. The place itself is comfy and I like the decor. Staff are usually nice, even when they're extremely busy (which happens frequently cause it's a popular place).

Yelp
Lives up to the hype. My cappuccino was excellent. Very chill vibe inside. Would definitely return.

Yelp
The food is super delicious. Keep in mind the kitchen fully opens around 12pm. But the food and variety is great. Plus they have a few good beers on tap. Overall great place with good service.

Yelp
This must be my so far favorite cafe in Lisboa. The staff is very nice, the food is great and the surroundings very urban (inside) and very lovely (outside). There is much to choose from from the menu, however not too much, so that they still are able to make everything taste good. The cafe is situated on a very calm street, so if you're looking for a really touristy place with lots to look at, this is not it. However if you, as I've done, bring kids, it's a great place with not too much disturbance and distractions for the kids. There's a hostel right next to the cafe and next to that, you have an "all-Portuguese-products" shop (really nice). The prices at the cafe are ok. If you are used to traveling in Portugal, as I am, the prices might seem higher than usual...but it's not a typical "tourist trap". Have a coffee and cake, lunch or dinner, you may just want to sit with a book or laptop. I'm going back for sure

Yelp
this place is awesome. nestled right in the heart of the Chiado district yet located on a quiet street, this place can't be beat. there is plentiful outdoor seating, prime for soaking in the sun as well as taking in the beauty of Lisbon's ornate buildings. service was pretty good, not extremely friendly like most of the places we have been to in Lisbon. my husband and I had olives, the soup of the day (tomato cream), mixed salad, hamburger with Austrian bacon with perfectly seasoned potatoes and a side of tziziki (?) sauce, and an apple streusel for dessert. I would say.. skip the olives + soup + mixed salad and go for the meat. the cheeseburger was truly fantastic while the soup and mixed salad were a little bland. even the seasoned fried potatoes were a w e s o m e. the streusel was good but nothing extremely noteworthy. go here for the meat.. expect to eat a big meal. annnnd visit the A Vida Portuguesa store next door!!!!!

Yelp
really nice and urban place, loved the design and feeling inside. but the espresso was just so so - and leave it to the german/austrians to not have wifi. every little corner bar in Portugal has free wifi, but surprisingly they did not. also more expensive then other similarly good local cafes....

Yelp
Delicious breakfast!! Got the vegetable soup, sausage and the Mediterranean breakfast with some black tea. Very chill atmosphere, all locals. Can't wait to go back!!

Yelp
Kaffeehaus is a great place to grab lunch, coffee or dessert while you're shopping in Chiado (it's the next-door neighbor to A Vida Portuguesa) or looking for a spot to meet up with friends. With its cozy patio and cheerful, airy interior, it's easy to unwittingly while away a few hours. The menu is extensive with a focus on Austrian dishes as well as a smattering of Mediterranean picks. My husband had their hamburger, which caught his eye because it came with Emmentaler cheese, tzatziki, tomato, red onion, and super-crispy bacon. It was served with a pile of seasoned potato wedges and cilantro aioli. I kept sneaking bites of the burger and the potato side because both were bursting with flavor. I opted for the vegetarian spatzle with wilted spinach, slivered almonds, house-made pesto, tomato, and ricotta cheese. It was a fresh, yummy counterpoint to his heavier meal. A word of warning: the portions were laughably huge and could have easily served 2-3 people each. We left a lot on our plates, and still didn't have room for the delectable-looking cakes or, for that matter, dinner many hours later!

Yelp
Great little spot! Great food and the service was awesome. Plus they speak English! Highly recommend the goat cheese toast

Yelp
Delicious breakfast, got the Mediterranean omelette the soup of the day (best soup I've had in YEARS), and the beef sausage (really, really, really good!! The potatoes it came with weren't that special though). The atmosphere was really good too, all locals (we were the only tourists in there), some with their babies and by noon every table was taken. Will come back here, possibly today! *They don't take AmEx.

Yelp
We found this place browsing Yelp and looking for a good breakfast spot and we were not disappointed. The cappuccinos were the best we have had in Lisbon so far and the food was quick and delicious. We had the Vital breakfast (though we didn't care for the ricotta, the beer and granola with yoghurt were excellent), the Wiener breakfast, scrambled eggs and a croissant sandwich. All was fantastic. Sitting outside on the cafes little patio in the shade was just perfect for a a hot summer morning like today.
