Very interesting place we visited today,the young lady with curly hair served us very well and the banana muffin was very tasty, no complaints , the coffee pinker bourbon was the better option,but as a tip I suggest the owner to instruct the guests that as the place is quite small they should push a bit the seated guests if they don't consume more from the bar to clear the tables as there's not much place there to sit .Nice place all round.Thank you for the extra chairs, it helped .

It became my favorite coffee place in Austria. I live in Linz and I’m more than happy to travel to Wels or Salzburg to grab a coffee at Kaffeothek. I appreciate the selection of beans that are sold through Kaffeothek as it is part of my daily routine at home.

Maybe the best third-wave café in Wels. Great vibe – I’d come back anytime.

The staff and owners are super friendly and knowledgeable. The coffee is prepared expertly with a varying selection each day. The bean selection features many different roasters. Always a pleasure to visit.

Best coffee in Wels. Not only you can enjoy the cozy atmosphere of the cafe and treat yourself with unique coffee drinks, you can also purchase coffee beans for your home. With my partner we became loyal customers there, always coming back to explore more beans. It is nice that you can grind your coffee there as well if you need, or even purchase different equipment for coffee brewing/making. For those who prefer plant based milk - they have it! It is a bit pricy, but honestly it has been hard for me to find good coffee place in Austria so I am ready to pay a bit extra for this deliciousness. Hope you will enjoy this place as much as I do!

I stopped by twice on one afternoon. Kaffeeothek serves top-notch, single origin specialty coffee prepared with skill and care, in a warm, tidy and charming site on the Stadtplatz. The staff members are lovely, welcoming, and eager to talk coffee. The assortment of coffee beverages is admirable and reflects the knowledge and skills of the staff; in addition to Viennese-style drinks, international espresso drinks are served, including the flat white and cortado, which can be hard to find. The selection of coffees varies daily and includes highly-rated specialty roasts from roasters such as Gardelli of Italy and Wildkaffee. You can buy beans here, from a wide selection of specialty roasters. In addition to this, Kaffeothek deals in a surprising variety of coffee equipment; I noticed Comandante grinders and articles from Hario on the shelves. I can testify to the excellent preparation of the espresso. By the standards of third wave coffee culture, a lot of espresso in Austria tends to be over-extracted, but on my two trips, the drinks here were perfect: smooth, balanced, and showing their varietal character. Wels is a much richer city for having this unique gem, and in such a beautiful place as the Stadtplatz. Many bigger cities do not anything quite like this!
