Kaffeesaurus

The best brunch experience in Cologne – even on a busy Rosenmontag! We stumbled upon Kaffeesaurus by chance during Rosenmontag, and we were so relieved to find them open! Even though there was a queue outside, the line moved incredibly fast thanks to their super-efficient team. I started with a Bumble Coffee (espresso poured over fresh orange juice), it’s the perfect, refreshing morning drink to wake up your palate before brunch. For the main course, we had the Burrito and the Ichthyosaurus. Honestly, everything on the menu looked so delicious that I wanted to try it all! What impressed me the most was the speed. Despite the massive carnival crowd, our drinks and food arrived in a heartbeat. I don’t know how they manage such high volume while staying super friendly and maintaining top-tier quality, but they nail it. If you are looking for the best specialty coffee or a high-quality brunch in Cologne, this is the place to be. Highly recommended! Pros: Fast service, unique coffee drinks, amazing food presentation, and vibrant atmosphere.

Food was very delicious! We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was quite crowded. You have to wait outside to be served and once a table is free inside they will get you. We were able to get a spot outside with heating so even though it was very cold it was cozy and doable. Inside is generally nice but very busy when packed. Next to yummy breakfast/ lunch options they also have a variety of cakes. We chose the „Scheiterhaufen“ and it was insanely delicious! Highly recommended! Als the lemonades (we had ginger and Hibiskus) and coffee are very tasty and the portions - as you see from the pictures - are quite big and so delicious!

Pleasant simple place. Food was fresh and quickly served. Staff was friendly and spoke English. Decoration, seats etc are very simple, but in a clean and cozy way. Price is good for the quality. Coffee and smoothie were particularly good. It’s a bit noisy. I would recommend.

Understand the hype! The shakshouka and coffee were excellent - full of flavour and worth the price! Had to queue for 15mins, even as a party of 1, but the food arrived within 10mins of ordering. Worth noting only full fat milk available and no laptops allowed.

Really nice minimalistic/cozy cafe, We came at around 9:30am for breakfast, was not too busy, but by the time we left (~10:30) it was so full that there was a line of people waiting, so this cafe seems to be popular. The pumpkin spice latte was really good, not too sweet, the chai was mild but nice as well. Avocado toast and egg were prepared well with fresh ingredients. Clean place and lovely drinks.

An Absolute Must-Try for Brunch in Cologne! 🇩🇪 After a 10-minute subway ride, Kaffesaurus was the perfect start to our day. The place was busy, but the staff quickly found us a nice table. We used Google Translate for the menu (we didn't ask for an English one, so that's on us!). The coffee arrived first—a delicious latte with a cute Christmas tree design on top. The brew was excellent! For brunch, we enjoyed the awesome Shakshuka and the wonderful Pancakes with Pistachio Cream. Verdict: We are so happy we chose Kaffesaurus. It's truly a top-tier brunch spot. Great food. Me and my girlfriend were on a weekend holiday recently and decided to walk over to Kaffeesaurus for breakfast because the name and dinosaur themed menu looked interesting. We’re so glad we did as the food was delicious and the staff were friendly, funny and very nice to deal with. I had the French toast and a latte. Both were great and I’d highly recommend. The atmosphere was great, the place was busy but didn’t feel cramped. It had a nice outdoor seating area with heat lamps over the tables. They also do a range of cakes and pastries that looked great too. We would recommend to anyone and will definetly visit if we are in the city again.

Definitely one of my favourite cafés! The food is excellent and the menu has something for everyone. And the coffee is just amazing. It's easy to reach from anywhere and there's ample seating inside and outside (which is a great spot for brunch in summer). Make sure to stop by for a bite, a drink and a friendly chat!

Food was amazing, ambiance was very nice/chill, welcoming, and service was on point. Lisa took great care of us and kept us laughing. If I'm ever back in Cologne, I'll be sure to come back.

Such an incredible breakfast option. The food was incredible! We had pancakes, a wrap, and eggs Benedict which were all fanatic. We also had chai tea lattes which were true chai you steam and then pour into your cup. I will note it was extremely loud and busy in the restaurant. Friendly service and they had English menus (recommend asking for them they aren't at the tables!

Great service and tasty food! The price point was very good especially if you're an out of towner. Overall great experience and would go back again!

Bestes Frühstück nach einer Party und nicht nur. Frische Zutaten, Salatbeilagen waren nett und schmackhaft hergerichtet, nicht einfach fix hinplatziert aus einer Fertigmische. Die Eier waren sehr gut. Dass sie bio waren konnte man schmecken. Die Sauerteigbrote waren schön knusprig getoastet, was für mich ein Indiz dafür ist, dass sich Jemand Gedanken darüber gemacht hat und nicht den einfacheren und schnelleren Weg gegangen ist. Egal welches Gericht an den Nachbartischen gebracht wurde, es sah alles frisch und mit Liebe zum Detail aus. Die Pancakes waren sehr fluffig und haben sehr gut geschmeckt. Bei den meisten Gerichten konnte man gute und nicht offensichtliche Zutaten entdecken. Die Karte ist schön übersichtlich, sodass die Wahl nicht wegen der vielen Positionen etwas länger dauerte, sondern weil jedes Gericht einfach verlockend war. Gesund, schmackhaft und nett fürs Auge hergerichtet. Der Service war außergewöhnlich gut. Die Bedienung hat sich nicht nur mit der Meinung eines Gastes zufrieden gegeben, sondern hat explizit gefragt, ob der andere Gast auch zufrieden gewesen ist. TOP! Kann ich nur empfehlen.

Loved the place at Barbarossa Platz, wanted to check out the one at Friesenplatz. I tried calling and sending emails to make a reservation, but it seems as if there's only fake contact information? Would be great if someone could reach out.

My favorite cafe! Not only are the food and drink menus to die for but the friendly staff, great location and attractive decor make this place number 1 in my books. They have plenty of seating both in and outdoor and offer a wide range of options for takeaway or to have there 10/10

Well, I frequent cafes every weekend in San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley. In Tsukiji, Tokyo, I had the perfect piece of fatty tuna. Here at Kaffeesauraus I had the perfect yogurt bowl. Both perfect 10/10s.

Just arrived in Cologne and was walking to another coffee shop and saw the Kaffeesaurus sign and noticed the clean and crisp shop underneath and ventured in. Staff were all friendly and provided me with a classic cappuccino. Will be back.

Everything you'd want from your hipster breakfast place: good coffee, non-lactose milks, your breakfast classics like eggs benedict, avo toast, and a wide variation of bowls. A very welcome addition to Cologne's options. Will definitely be back (regularly)
